Rude and patronising staff, allergies not accounted for (what is peanut chicken?), mould in my room and the fridge when I came here, no vaping rule is stupid… it is literally water vapour. Only good thing about gardens is the telephone box that doesn’t work XD. Very overhyped better to stay at less expensive halls.

I lived at Garden Halls for the first year of my undergraduate degree. The rooms are quite modern and well-equipped, the bed size is decent and the furnishings are good. The ammenities were nice, the locker system for mail is great and parcel collection was relatively speedy after the initial weeks. The location is a big plus, very close to Russel Square and King's Cross, and the Brunswick Centre just next door has everything from a Waitrose, Sainsbury, Starbucks, Asian Supermarket, Restaurants and a Tesco, Pret and Costa just down the road. Had a great experience with the staff at reception who were always prompt and helpful, especially Serge and Philip, great guys. The security is really good too, especially at night-time. The downsides are, the food, breakfast is tolerable but dinner was always terrible. Out of the 9 months I lived here, dinner was agreeable was on barely 5-6 occasions. Also, if you do chose ensuite catered, the kitchens are practically useless, with only a microwave and a fridge. Very pleasant overall and would highly recommend. It's definitely worth the price.

I would not recommend this hotel only if you really want to save money. The only advantage of this hotel is the location. The room is shabby and facilities are malfunctioning. No AC and the windows cannot be fully opened. I chose here because I wanted to stay around King Cross station and all the other hotels around were booked. I guess that most of the good reviews come from the students who are more considerate about the budget.

I stayed here for a week and had breakfast and dinner every day. included the photos the canteen is cleaned but the only thing is that the water fountain was broken so that’s a bit annoying other than that there’s for elevators or more in the building so it is really easy to go

I like the people I met there…. Well some of them at least. Actually, I only liked a few. The food. I have military service and I actually enjoyed army food more than their food. Make of that what you will. Room was nice and clean, plus the garden outside was cute.

I liked Garden Halls. Stayed a week in the summer of 2019. Very few people in residence so it was very quiet. Great location - handy to King's Cross Station. Lots of cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby. The room was small but clean and modern. Really had everything a three star hotel room would have except no tv. Very good breakfast included. I would stay again in a summer when it is not crowded or noisy.

The only nice thing about Garden Halls is the fact that it is near main colleges and located in central London. The catering does not provide lunch which is ridiculous considering they ask us to pay so much for the accommodation price. The rooms are nice but the cleaning staff is angsty about what places they wish to clean and complain on the job. There are like a gazillion stairs to climb to reach your room if you have a place where there is no elevator. I hate having to walk so many stairs and when I asked to have my room changed cuz of this I was simply told there is no other option available. If you wish to change rooms it's almost impossible considering the place is always fully booked. Staff at Administration and hospitality team do not help with your grievances.

Overpriced rooms. Rude receptionists who scold students. No hot water every couple of days. I would not have stayed here if I knew the experience would be so uncomfortable. Sadly.

Hughes Parry Tower is disgusting and infested with mice.If you are a student go elsewhere. Students are basically funding an infestation. While staff is considerate and attentive, the main issues are not solved the way the should be.

I have lived here from Sep 2021-June 2022 for my masters course in UCL. Overall the accommodation was good, the staff were very nice and parcels arrived on time. The other 1 star reviews are possibly due to bad individuals. The staff in fact do not scold you at all. I lived in self-catered accommodation and had an option to eat at garden halls if you pay for it it was very cheap too. Just to make sure you mention your allergies.

Great Halls. Modern, stylish and central. It feels like an epicentre of London colleges. My daughters room is just what she needs. Without the charm and closeness of smaller halls, but makes up for it with style, size and facilities.

Overpriced rooms, but what can you expect from London I guess? Nice, tidy rooms, cleaner came in once a week to clean the kitchen and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They always set up activities for students. I had a nice time here.

Do not stay here. To put in simply the whole building has structural issues and the management do not care for residents at all. This has led to major pest issues. We have been living with mice for months and the company which manages garden halls and Hughes parry tower have failed to do anything substantial to help us. It is like living in a hostel. The managers of the halls do not want to help and simply blame students for the issues. The whole building is infested. Maintenance team do not fix anything in a timely manner. You have to chase them up all the time for anything to be done. Lots of fixtures broken when we moved in. Staff refuse to believe that you actually have a problem with mice and simply say “it probably wasn’t a mouse”. DO NOT APPLY TO LIVE HERE. The staff don’t want to help you. There have been intruders as there is no security downstairs - homeless people sleeping in the basement, students being followed in at night. Don’t be fooled by the pictures online showing the rooms. Can’t ever pick up parcels at their so called 24/7 reception. There are nicer jails out there to be completely honest.

    - extremely slow response dealing with malfunctioned facilities (sometimes 2-3 working days). - Hughes Parry Tower main door broke down for 2-3 weeks and residents had to enter/exit from Garden Halls main building, taking an extra 5-10 mins each time. - Hughes Parry Tower was left with 1 working lift for the whole building, for a whole month. - recently the lifts and lift waiting areas at HPT smelled like fermented vomit for 3 days before anything was done to rectify the problem - occasional complete water outages which sometimes last more than half a day. - most service staff are nice and polite, but sadly does not make up for the major inconveniences at this hall.

😠 At this price, you could settle for a 2 star hotel or even a 3 star. At this hostel, you get no tissue, no hairdryer, a choked sink with shared toilet. I can look past that for a night, but they were extremely dishonest to state "luggage storage" when they actually did not allow me to store, claimi...
