On our walk to the nearby Imperial War Museum, our family stopped in this wonderful cozy coffee shop to have a full English breakfast. Andrew, the owner, was very pleasant and attentive to all of us and quickly provided excellent drinks and food. We had a wonderful chat about our Alabama home and Andrew's world travels. The coffee, orange juice, and eggs& toast breakfast were absolutely delicious. His collection of books is very interesting and diverse, and are available for his customers to read. I highly recommend this special coffee shop to everyone.

Quite possibly, the best coffee I’ve ever had!!! I’m a well travelled 51 year old coffee buff, and this was an absolute 10 out of 10. Almost worth the 3 hour journey time in itself. Wonderful little place 👌🏻

[If you’re seeking something quick and unattached, you’re better off going to Starbucks.. though your cold little heart will be missing out on this beautiful gem.] This is truly thee best coffee shop we have ever been to. Staying in London for a few days could have been stressful having not researched where to go or what to do beforehand. Choosing this place was the best decision we made there. Andrew was family the second we walked in and welcomed us into it by introducing everyday folks including Steve the mailman. Absolutely felt right at home. It’d become our home-base from which to venture out and explore every day. Andrew gave us honest advice on what to check out and what to potentially skip. It’s really exactly what we needed. Thank you again for your fantastic hospitality and for making sandwiches and coffee that we still miss! (He made me a custom sandwich every morning) All in all, while the sandwiches are a godsend and the coffee is great- you come here because you want an extraordinary experience beyond your taste buds. No doubt it’ll reach your heart. We plan on visiting the UK again and swinging by London just for this little hole in the wall that stole our hearts. We’ll see you again old chap! Love, The California Girls

This is far from a specialist coffee shop. This is a super friendly community café, if you want to sit quietly and watch the world go by you can, if you want to meet and talk to friendly people you can go in alone and make new friends quickly. Nice chilled out place, great place to relax. Andrew is a great host – it’s really a place where everybody knows your name.

Friendly service, nice coffee and sandwich. Quiet, but handy for public transport.

Nice coffee in a laid back community atmosphere. Not always quiet enough for me to read a book so I'll catch up on the latest news. Seems tucked away but you'll find people from all over the world passing through. If you want a decent coffee that isn't made by a big corporation this place is worth a visit.

Stopped here for a quick coffee, while on my 60th Birthday nostalgia trip. Proprietor very friendly and chatty, and the place had a really nice atmosphere to go with a fantastic coffee. Recommend if passing, drop in.

Lovely local cafe with a very welcoming atmosphere. The chap behind the counter was knowledgeable about the area and made us feel at home. Even including other customers in our conversation who all seemed to be regulars.

Quite idiosyncratic with a very laid back host who got distracted by a good looking young lady and forgot our coffees! Food was delicious though. Overall no real issues

Everything a local coffee shop should be. Good coffee, good cakes and snacks, and great atmosphere. They're also very reasonably priced for an independent shop. The people here know and love the locals, and care about the community. A lovely place to just enjoy the day.

Went in as gluten free and lactose free - the guy in here went out of his way to get me soya milk from the shop and then on a whim put together a beautiful platter of food, one of the best lunches - honestly one of the nicest places with the nicest people I’ve been for a while - defo coming back, thank-you Kennington coffee shop!!!!

This is an absolutely amazing coffee spot! I’m so happy to have found it out near my new office. So cozy inside, really feels like a lovely neighborhood hub. I tried a fresh sandwich, some chocolate cookies and a flat white, and everything was perfect. Can’t wait to come back!

Really nice place, Unfortunately I don't live locally but I've been here a few times now and the gentleman (owner i think) is very warm and welcoming. I've not tried the food but eh coffee is really rather good. :)

The coffee and food were excellent 🌟 and the people working there were always so nice 🤩 I went there as much as I could, maybe the best coffee shop from London✨ They also gave me tips about what to see in London and how to get there 😊

Nice cafe. Real coffee and wonderful food. The best vegetarian lasagne I've ever had in UK...or just the best I've ever had.

I didn’t get the quality coffee I’d expect from an independent speciality coffee shop. Hope they get some single origin coffees in and engage more with the local roasting scene.

That’s what I wouldn’t expect in “anonymous” London: a small, simple and cute coffee shop where a sweet “aunt” will heat a croissant and make a coffee giving you the feeling that she’s doing this “for you only” (and some other nephews who could eventually come in).

I can't rave enough about what a beautiful experience we had at The Kennington Coffee Shop! We were staying at an AirBnB down the street for a week and every morning we felt like locals walking into Andrew's coffee shop. He knows everyone by name and gives the same kind of individual attention to anyone who walks through the door. He feels like family and our trip to London would not have been the same without him. We got everything from life advice to bus schedules, all while enjoying a perfect latte and absolutely delicious sandwiches and pastries. If you are looking for a quick and impersonal Starbucks experience, please spare interrupting the loveliness of this coffee shop and go somewhere else. If you want to sip your coffee and feel at home, then this is the place for you! Signed, The California Girls
