Exactly as I expected. Had never been here before but my friend had. Two of us arrived at 9 and waited 20 minutes for our friend, in that time saw people going in, including a group of 4 that we overheard didn't have a booking. When we went over we were told walk-in only after 10 (the friend that had been there before asked if they had changed it from 9.30 when he had been before, which got a shrug). Told to go to nearby pub for a drink and come back. Went back at 10.15, queued up, heard the same doorman tell a group that it was walk-in from 9.30 and they had to join the queue... Got to the front and we were now 6. Told that was too many, said we were happy to go in as 3 and when more space came up the next 3. Told that wasn't allowed as we would want to stand together... (obviously two separate groups have never met and talked in there before and they have a strict separation policy). Group of 3 behind us also not allowed in before as they were seen having a drink elsewhere beforehand (literally what the doorman told our group to do). I'm sure "Cathy" will respond with how they care about customer service. They don't. So rock up here if you want to see an egotistical man treat you with contempt whilst trying to make up bizarre excuses and justifications for his own power trip.

Attempted to come here a few months a go on the off chance, was told it’s guest list only and they were fully booked which was fair enough but then attempted to come here on Saturday and called up the week before to be put on the guest list, and was told there isn’t a guest list and it’s walk ins only. So I turned up with a friend, smartly dressed at 8.30 and was told it’s guest list only and they are fully booked, but looking in it was pretty empty. I tried to explain to the gentleman at the front door that I had called up etc but was quite rude to me and didn’t want to hear any of it.

Fun eve ruined by extremely rude member of staff. Spent 3k bar bill & private area to be treated disgustingly by one male member of staff in particular (young light skinned, tall black guy) . He was arrogant rude & extremely cocky, strutting round, shouting rudely to customers thinking he owned the place.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Came on the evening of 9/12/22 and the man on the door was extremely rude and agressive towards the female group I was in. He shouted at us that the doors are shut and to go somewhere else. This behaviour is unacceptable towards customers especially women. We were all sober, well dressed all we did is asked if the doors are reopening again. Do consider who are you hiring.

I went with a friend to go dance. I really enjoyed that the people that work in the bar they sing many of the songs that the dj plays, and they have amazing voices. But overall not really my cup of tea. I thought was a lot of ladies on their 40s and guys a bit younger. Maybe to have some different entertainment it is worth as the people singing are really nice. The downstairs bar it is nicer and much more fun if you go there.

Turned up here tonight for a drink with my girlfriend. Doorman aggressively manhandled us away stating arrogantly it was guest list only. They clearly need to work on their guest list then as place looked pretty empty at 8.30pm on a Sat when you’d expect it to be buzzing. Believe the negative reviews, this place should to be avoided at all costs.

Would rate 0 if I could. The absolute WORST place I've ever been to, staff were rude and unwelcoming, our prebooked table was given away, so upon arrival we were told we could sit downstairs "if we want". The only "fun" experience of being in this grim building was watching aggressively sweaty middle aged men trying to chat up the bar staff only to get escorted out. Fortunately I didn't have any negative interactions with staff because I left sooner rather than later. Also extortionate prices ONTOP of the automatic service charge, so a bang average gin & tonic ends up costing you £20. 0.5/10 would not recommend. Go to BeAtOne next door if you want to have a great night.

I came for a casual drink with my wife around 4:30pm. The bar was quiet and there wasn’t a queue to get in. We were greeted by David who looked me up and down. He then said to my wife - “we only take bookings I’m afraid.” My wife had tried to book yesterday but found out that they actually don’t take bookings for 2 people. She told him that she tried to book last night, and he answered with, yes well we don’t let people in with trainers. I was wearing smart clean white trainers and a smart jacket. I’m not sure if he was racist or just plain rude, but I don’t understand why we were rejected from this bar. I felt very belittled by this experience and definitely wont be returning. There’s no dress code on their website and there was several other people wearing trainers inside the bar. David must've felt empowered in his flashy suit, because he doesn’t deserve to be the face of Archer Street.

I have been here many times over the years BUT tonight I arrived earlier than my friend and was refused entry because I am on my own. The doorman said it’s for health and safety?! And said all the bats are the same. I’ve worked in London for 25 years and never heard such rubbish. Went straight into another bar on my own no worries!

Had the most wonderful time. Got to experience the Musical Theatre brunch, such incredible talent, how are they not all on West End?!? And then the bar upstairs was so much fun. Such a blast. Everyone was fun and lovely and attentive. Matt was a wonderful bartender and singer. Just such an incredible introduction to London. It is a bit pricey but in my mind we weren’t paying for merely drinks but the wonderful experience!

The most expensive bar in London, it seems, with a g&t coming in at £19, and a modest bottle of beer at nearly £7. Music so unbelievably loud that even at 7.30pm - long before full partying is in full swing - you cannot hear anyone, even when they’re talking into your ear. Won’t be back.

Good night of dance and music turned sour when I was chucked out by the manager Emily for complaining about not being served (another review mentioned similar problem with the same member of staff). I was at the bar, a glass got smashed by someone, there was a lot of glass around us, I was checking on my friend wether she had any cuts and was using napkins to collect the glass. I asked a member of staff when we were going to be served drinks as we were not at the time. The next thing I knew someone was aggressively telling me to step aside. Emily who refused to disclose her last name kept changing her story of what is that I've done wrong, she said I broke the glass, than agreed I didn't do that, she kept repeating like a mantra "It doesn't matter what you did or didn't do". I felt gaslighted and blackmailed (with threats that all my friends will have to leave if I didn't do what I was told).

The management have totally discriminated against us. We turned up early, was polite and turned away from our reservation. They asked us to come back and promised to save our table. They then wasted our time and turned us away again saying they had given our table away. Awful management, poor service and definitely won't ever try to come back here again.

A reliably good night out, brilliant singers. The only shame is the ‘Mean Girls’ waitresses in the corner- you’re not better than everyone else so stop judging people who are just there to have a good time! Openly describing your guests as ‘tragic’ is pretty poor show…

My friend was celebrating her birthday. We were downstairs and got the opportunity to listen to the professor singer. Good atmosphere but... extremely expensive. At the end we were paying each £105 just for drinks. They were nice though but it would not recommend this place if you have a tight budget. The bathroom were also tiny and honestly for what you pay they should definitely be cleaner.

So disappointed. I sent an enquiry for a 30th birthday party and I was advised there was availability for the date I requested. They then asked me for names of guest list prior to making a booking. As soon as they saw a list of Asian names they were apparently fully booked. It’s such a shame to experience racism in the 21st century. So disappointing, please avoid this place.

Humiliating experience at the door. become shocked with the aid of how impolite the doorman became after I with politeness requested to sign up for my buddies who had placed me on their guest list. He failed to even look at the guest list and informed me to get out of the queue. i was embarrassed so just left. There are a few super locations to drink and eat in London who deal with customers wonderfully. I dont suggest this status quo at all.

The staff were so rude, we moved under the umbrella because it was raining. One the staff got so rude and started yelling at us because we moved, we didn’t move the table. So shocking behaviour considering people walking around with no masks, felt like they were trying to get us to leave early to fit in other people, telling us they were going to watch the CCTV. Some the staff didn’t even have face masks on. So shocking I will never go there again!

One of my favorite ambiance bar in London. The members of the staff went the extra mile to accommodate us when my party of 10 people needed a place to eat. The kitchen appeared to be down when we arrived . Most of our guests were traveling from overseas and had no backup plan to fall onto. Siobhan really went out of her way to find another venue for us to make sure we have food and enjoy the rest the of the evening. The venue was called “Freedom” with dancers and singers.. we ended up having a really good night despite the road bumps!

Weirdly obsessed with not allowing customers to have their coats on them. Think it's so it's harder to not bolt out of there when you realise the obscene prices! Staff are also rude and pretentious. So many other better bars around Clapham Junction.

    1. Unfriendly: My friend booked it for her birthday drinks. They gave her a really hard time first of all to book as they wanted her to visit in person and book, while she lives in Luton. They strictly asked her for no trainers allowed and we all came all dressed up, only to see that majority of the crowd there was in jeans and t-shirt and trainers. 2. Weird rules: They did not allow any gift bags to be taken downstairs. They said hand it over to the b'day person after the party! Even if the table next to us was empty, they would not allow us to sit there. We felt being constantly watched for breaking any rules. We feel threatened by security guards in there and insecure. 3. Highly over priced: They just call themselves exclusive, There is nothing exclusive about this place. Even drinks were quite mediocre. By charging 7.5 quid for beer a place does not become exclusive. You probably need to be put in a lot more effort in your hospitality to be able to become anything close to exclusive.

I have loved coming here for years. A great little place with a small cocktail list - but always very fun, and you can always ask for something else which they're generally happy to make. I look forward to next year!

Extremely disappointed by the experience I had last night. Staff were unbelievably rude and didn't accommodate to the needs of our party. The manager dealt with the situation in a very unprofessional way, lacked any sense of empathy and understanding of the customer role. Would not recommend this bar to anyone.

90% staff are rude and while I was dancing someone steal my drink (2x). Not a chill place hang out, and seems very cocky place. People I had with me couldn't have a good time because of lack of security ( it feels security are only there to protect tables and singers) and aggressive people. Going somewhere else next time!

Been here pre pandemic and now post pandemic and goad to know that this place is still rocking. Its a good idea to book in advance for a Saturday night as it ends up packed and you may not get in. Great singers/waiters to get the crowd in the mood. Great crowd and great atmosphere.

The best night out : the best music (all the hits you can sing along), mature crowd and overall positive atmosphere. There are two floors. It does get crowded - so dancing on the tables is your best bet! Drinks are pricey. Getting in, indeed, is tricky - have to be there at 20 if you want to make sure to get in. There is also cover fee after 21.

Always have a great time at Archers with friends! Tonight a friend had one too many and the doorman, Michael, really went above and beyond to help us out in trying to get home safely. I'm sure it's a pain for the staff having to deal with these situations so I was really blown away with how much he assisted us. The lady servicing the ladies room was also lovely so overall the experience was excellent.

Had stumbled across this bar when I was on a night out with my partner. The cocktails here are delicious! Great entertainment, great food, couldn’t ask for more. Special shoutout to the manager Oona for making sure we were taken care of all night. Will definitely be back :)

Wandered in and ordered a glass of wine before dinner. Took it to a seat outside and was minding my own business until I was then (5 minutes later) approached rudely by an intimidating bouncer and Informed that “for future reference” they don’t normally admit single males. Dreadful crooning woman wailing some beige ballad inside. Avoid like the plague.

Bar staff (a younger man) were more interested in throwing ice than serving drinks. Stood in front of him waiting while he threw 3 rounds and the crowd and then when I asked him to stop throwing ice and please serve customers he said “you can’t tell me what to do”. Disappointing experience.

Probably one of the coolest spots I’ve attended! I went around Christmas and the spirt was truly in the air! I wish I had taken more photos than videos, but their staff/cast really make your night! Sad that when I went back in feb on my second trip to london it was reso only so please make a reso!!!!

Spent a Friday evening in Archer Street and had a great time, the atmosphere was top notch and Spencer looked after us all night. Music was great and all the staff are super talented. Gets busy so recommend booking in advance. Make sure to try some of Spencer’s cocktails 👌🏼

Went there tonight for the first time and: Wow! Can’t find 1 thing I didn’t like. Place is amazing, music is the best! That Brazilian DJ rocks! OMG and live singers? That is super!!! The singers were super sweet and friendly as well… And talking about friendly: the bar team! They were so warm and inviting, so polite… Even the securities in there were amazing! Honestly, you guys should give classes to other venues on how to achieve success! I’ve said this to the manager (who was also super sweet), but worth a review… Thank you for an amazing night, I’m deff coming back! 100% recommend!!

Fun place to go for a night out - love the singing waiters/waitresses (some very talented people working there!) and the only-semi policed table dancing. Obviously it's a soho bar so if you turn up at 10pm on a saturday you are going to be facing a queue to get in, a slightly aggressive vetting of your compliance with the dress code, a £20 entry fee and an absolutely horrifying bar bill but that's pretty standard for the locale...

  • 5/5 Leno J. 2 years ago on Google

There's a reason that Archer Street Soho is always busy and that's because it's brilliant and once you're in, you don't want to leave!! Archer Street is great for date night, drinks with friends, parties... whatever the occasion you should be there! If like a bar with an atmosphere that's buzzing, beautiful drinks and music straight from the West End then Archer Street is a no brainer, if you're not there already, you're missing out! From the second you enter, to the minute you leave, you're smiling from ear to ear. Highly recommended - brilliant!

Very cool and fun place to be at! We rocked up at the bar at around 10 PM on Saturday night and didn't have much trouble to get in as a group (seven people), although we faced some slight issues with the dress code as its rather smart casual (no shorts for men for example - however I was luckily let in with my shorts on thanks to the summer heatwave, otherwise I would not be allowed to enter). The entry fee was £10 which was not too bad, the cloakroom was free of charge. It's a really fun place for a night out, and has such a cool vibe. It was crowded and loud, so it was difficult to move around or hear your own words, but very entertaining. It is a semi-karaoke bar where waitresses and waitresses are singing (some of them really good singers) and occasionally dancing on the tables, quite a show to watch! The drinks are expensive, as expected in this neighborhood, but really well prepared! Kudos to the skills of bartenders which are by the way very nicely dressed! A bit posh place, but I had a lot of fun here, so the price tag of the night didn't matter! Paid by card. Visited in July 2022.

Music selection is fab! However, only 3 stars because of the drinks. I ordered the same cocktail (lychee & grapefruit) 3 times during the night. Each time I was served a completely different drink (different glass, different taste, different look, different - or no - garnish). Drinks are expensive (with a service charge! Even when ordering at the bar!). If you charge that amount for a cocktail, at least have staff that know the menu and know how to make the cocktails.

Was in archer street a few weeks ago... Honestly the nicest bar I’ve been to in London in a long time. The atmosphere was fab, drinks were great and the whole experience was just amazing. A special shoutout to the staff who made our night special, especially the front of house girl Cathy (I think?) who was just simply fab. She was so welcoming and fun and made our night so buzzy from the get go. Thanks Archer street, will defo be back!!

Fantastic few hours here a couple of weeks ago. Arrived around 6, left around 9 when it was definitely getting livelier easier you would expect on a Friday night. The bar was lovely, very stylish, the drinks were delicious and arrived quickly and with a smile. The live singing was incredible, so much talent these guys have, absolutely phenomenal, and definitely didn’t really want to leave! What a great fun and stylish bar in Soho. We will be back

We planned to go to the Soho branch for an office celebration and before Archer Street would confirm the booking, I was instructed to visit the venue for an interview. I took two hours out of my day to attend. We then received a message saying that our invitation was cancelled because they were too busy. They could have saved me the trouble and I think they are so arrogant, not caring about my wasted time!!!. Don't trust them.

A great place to have a great time 🪩. The owner, managers, doorman & the rest of the security team are all amazing - we always feel safe and I couldn't recommend a better venue! From the moment you step through the door you'll be greeted with both warmth & hospitality. The ambiance is wonderful whether you're having a relaxed evening with friends during the week or a fun night out as the weekend approaches 🎤🥂. Lastly, the selection of drinks is great and satisfies every palette whether you're in the mood for a classic cocktail (the mocktails are also fab), something fancier or just a lovely glass of wine 🍷.
