Visited Fortnum & Mason for the Afternoon Tea this weekend and what a lovely experience that was! First of all, ALL the staff was incredibly friendly and professional - they really made us feel special and made sure everything was perfect. The food was delicious - from finger sandwiches to desserts, and all can be refilled if you fancy another round. Amazing selection of teas - Jasmine Silver Needle White Tea is definitely worth trying - one of the best teas I’ve ever tasted. A lovely touch at the end was a special celebration dessert and extra speciality desserts to take home! Highly recommend to anyone, an amazing way to celebrate a special moment!

We visited at around 3pm on a weekend for an afternoon tea. The service and the atmosphere were friendly, traditional and impressive. The decor is also in a traditional style. There is live piano playing during your meal as well as nice bathrooms. The tea itself was excellent, although it would be nice to be offered a refill of the tea more explicitly. The sandwiches and the sweets were fresh, the scones with the clotted cream and the jam amazing. The selection of food, however, was somewhat overwhelming, some of the pastries were too sweet or creamy. I would reduce the quantity and the sizes (especially since replenishing is allowed) in favour of the quality to make the experience perfect.

Very disappointing service, was good at the beginning as the first two waitresses were both very nice and smiley, so it was a good start. Unfortunately, later on the waiter, Jaoquim, was not very nice. Firstly, he said all the food can be refilled, once, apart from the lobster omelette. After I finished the food, he asked do you need some more food, I said yes, then never got any, had to ask again for more scones and sandwiches. After a while, got some sandwiches but scones never came, so I did not bother and left, told the reception the situation and all she said was, there's a 60 people event so they were busy. Well if the service can be downgraded while they are busy, how about the price? It was not decreasing to match it though. As for the food, the scones were just a little bit warm when they came, and very crumbly as well, as I just had a great cream tea last week in Peacock tearoom in Ely, which costs £9.45 while this costs £72.5, this scone I can only gave it a 2 out of 10, what a joke! The cakes mostly were mousse, including savoury and sweet ones, the lobster omelette was nice and the mixed salad which served in an egg shell was also nice, others just tasted too strong or too sweet. I think overall, this was very disappointing, this afternoon tea is more about the name and environment, but the quality of food and that gentleman's service literally let the whole experience down, I will never go back and won't recommend it at all.

Went to The Diamond Jubilee Tea salon at Fortnum and Mason's for some afternoon tea on a Saturday. It was quite busy but had a table booked, so we were greeted quickly and welcomed in. After a couple minutes our waiter arrived and presented the menus for the afternoon tea and the drinks selection. The waiter was very attentive and polite throughout the whole experience, his name was Rex. The champagne cocktails were absolutely amazing. Every single thing on the afternoon tea was delightful! The scones were freshly made and delicious, it was a very nice touch that you get little fortnum and mason's jars of strawberry preserve and lemon curd. The sandwiches were freshly made and very tasty and so were the cakes. A very nice touch was that there was complimentary slice of cake per person that you can take in a takeaway box for home. Overall an amazing experience! The interior of the salon is beautiful, there is a piano player playing throughout. Well done to the whole team, especially to Rex for making the experience unforgettable.

Shared an Afternoon Tea with a dear friend at The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. Wanted somewhere special as we have not been together for two years because of the Pandemic and health issues. Was a lovely experience with very attentive staff. The finger sandwiches, scones and cakes were excellent. Would recommend to visit for a treat.

5 stars!!! I took my sister to afternoon tea for her birthday at Fortnum and Mason despite her concerns with her previous experience, a couple of years ago, and she loved it. It all started with the gracious welcome by Jeam. He was so patient with our questions and able to accommodate our request for a window table. And the service by Eva was impeccable. Our favourite part was the amazing selection of teas and the finger sandwiches - we had seconds! We loved the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone who may have reservations about the value. The staff are wonderful, the setting is lovely and you won’t regret it.

For a special occasion this can’t be beat. The service was spectacular and the food was great! If you’re into coffee, the Royal Blend tea is a great start with afternoon tea; finish it off with a yellow tea to calm things down. We got a savoury and traditional afternoon tea and we both preferred the traditional.

Went here for an afternoon tea expecting something very exquisite but honestly I felt a bit disappointed. The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon is very busy, the staff seems to be rushing with the orders. I had to place my order within maybe 2 minutes of being seated and didn't even have a chance to properly study the tea menu. The food accompanying the tea was a bit disappointing. It didn't seem to be of particularly great quality and didn't seem to be very fresh either. The jam served with the scones isn't very good (less than 50% of fruit) and is way too sweet. I paid over 100 pounds for this quite average afternoon tea which seem very overpriced.

Incredible experience. Delicious tea menu, with a variety of blends to suit every palate. Crisp buttery scones with clotted cream and the most fabulous jams. My friend had the halal afternoon tea, I had the classic. We both left incredibly full but satisfied. The only slight drawback was at times the service was inattentive, which was difficult to understand given the salon wasn't overly busy. Nevertheless, would come again.

Taking up the "Together for Tea" deal, we went to this classic high tea establishment for lunch. Everything was all-you-can eat (including teas) and our server, Gabriel was a top lad (A weird thing to note are other waiters whose sole purpose was to delivery food was in comparison less well trained and at times was a bit awkward.) With great ambience and service, I think the main disappoint was the food itself. There were too many items that were mediocre, not much that you would order twice. Flavour: 2* Hospitality: 5* Value for money: 3* (if you are using the Together for Tea then 4*)

This was another day to commemorate my 60 years on earth. I loved every moment spent in Fortnum & Mason. From the service the staff provided to the observation of your surroundings. The atmosphere was impeccable. The relaxed ambiance with a piano playing in the background was most welcoming. I loved both savory and sweets provided, which were refilled . Their selection of fresh herbal teas were lovely. I highly recommend it here just to experience the finesse things in life💕

We had a lovely time at the Afternoon Tea. My only suggestion would be that the items on the serving plate should have been for three. We were three in our party and we all ordered the Savoury Afternoon Tea, but one of the trays that was serving two people only have one item of each of the savoury pastries, so they had to split each one to try it. That was unfortunate. Otherwise, the service was impeccable and we had a great time.

Our experience here was incredible! Everything from the ambiance, service, drinks, and food absolutely made it worth the splurge. They had a large selection of teas, so there's a tea for everyone. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were all great, and you could get more of anything you liked. Our server was very attentive and so sweet! I'd highly recommend going if you're looking for a place for afternoon tea!

Is it one of those touristy things you should do at least once in your life? Perhaps, if you have 86 pounds to spare per person (not including alcohol). Mind you, there were some posh Brits there enjoying tea as well, so not just for tourists although they make up 80 percent of the clientele if not more (like us). I would recommend that each person in your party pick a different afternoon tea so that you can sample different things. We had both selected the savory tea and it was, true to its name, all savory and nothing sweet, so jokes on me as I really do appreciate a sweet scone versus a salty one (luckily, I asked the server if our second serving of scones be sweet instead of a savory repeat and they obliged). Was it especially tasty? Not particularly, but isn't that British food for ya? 😜 All jokes aside, I like how they had unlimited tea changes so both my partner and I were able to sample a range of teas and infusions so that we can then buy the ones we liked (unfortunately, we liked none of them enough and were looking forward to trying their signature Mason's blend or whatever it's called but they ran out?!). Our immediate servers were kind and attentive enough but there's obviously some problem in the serving hierarchy of who is supposed to get what as the service was incredibly slow... we would ask for more jam or tea and they would come but bring them all separately and with big time intervals between each one so that we were just sitting there waiting for the items so that we could continue our tea. It was a bit irritating, truth be told. Good thing their 12.5% tip is included in the bill already because I am not sure I would have given them that based on my experience. I also like that you can take out leftovers in a little box to avoid food waste. In summary, ok for a one off experience but had I known it would be like this I would have rather kept my 86 pounds.

Arriving for our booking a little ahead of our 5:45pm booking on the last day of November we were seated relatively quickly. Personally, I thought the sandwiches and scones were absolutely delicious. The cakes perhaps no quite so much. Service was a bit hit-and-miss with staff not generally keeping eyes on the room and indeed - the tables they where looking after. We both thought that the Ritz was a much better experience for afternoon tea.

Was truly on the fence about having Afternoon Tea here because the reviews were so mixed but opted to just give it a-go and can 100% vouch for those that stated this place is highly overrated. Service was extremely slow, we had a weird pungent scent of fish near our table the entire time- server was nice enough but not very attentive. The scones were some of the best I've ever had so kudos to that (clotted cream was nice as well) but the sandwiches were nothing to rave about/very forgettable and the entire sweets portion were NOT good at all (I didn't finish anythingggg); even my tea selection was a standard drip tea bag and not loose. They do offer you one additional slice of cake- so I went with the pumpkin one which was ok. I wouldn't recommend, especially at such a high price point.

Fantastic afternoon spending time with my daughter in your lovely tea room. From the moment we arrived until we left, the staff were very attentive We were shown the menu where you could choose what afternoon tea was on offer , We ordered the standard one and we weren't disappointed. The sandwiches were really fresh and tasty, the cakes were fantastic as were the scones, The was a large selection of teas to choose from I had the wedding breakfast tea which was lovely. As was the glass of champagne 🥂 Our server was lovely her name was Blessy, she is a credit to your company Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon Highly recommended

My American family had the best time experiencing tea for the first time. The elegant ambiance of Fortnum & Mason made for an exceptional experience. Our server was so kind and walked us through the menu, explaining how and what to order, as well as recommendations of teas, as this was our first time. We had a lovely time; highly recommended.

I’ve had better teas for £20 than this. It wasn’t awful the sandwiches were nice but £80 each for some sandwiches and cakes that weren’t the best. We didn’t actually eat the cakes there as couldn’t manage anything sweet after the scones so took them home. The only nice one was the mini rose eclair. Don’t get me wrong the place is beautiful and can’t fault the staff but when I think of the meal I could have had elsewhere for the same price.
