The barista at this coffee shop is one of the nastiest people I have ever met. If it wasn't for her I would give this place 4/5 but her offensive attitude and terrible customer service lowers the ranking down to 1/5. She absolutely ruined my time there. Below is how she "served" my wife and me. Firstly, I noticed her whipping her nose with the back of her hand which is disgusting for someone to do who works with food and drink. However disgusting this is, I can get past this. I ignored it. Next, my wife asked the barista a question about the menu and she literally shouted at my wife, saying that what they had out is what they have – okay, no need to shout! Then, she went from the above offensive attitude to blowing kisses at a fellow member of staff. This in itself, however unprofessional, I am okay with if it wasn't for the extreme contrast in how she deals with people. Her being annoyed with customers but having a party with her colleagues = she shouldn't be working in this environment. I ordered a soup with bread, a salad and a coffee to have in the cafe. She said my coffee was ready, so I approached the counter. When I arrived there were two ceramic cups and one takeaway cup. I asked which was mine and she responded by saying 'what do you think'? The paper cup ended up being mine, which made no sense as my food was presented to me to eat in. My wife wanted a glass of water, so went round to the cafe part (we were sat in the lounge area). There were no clean glasses and she didn't dare ask the barista as she'd been so nasty. I didn't want to ask her either but as my wife was pregnant and thirsty, I had to go. All the staff were busy and only the barista was available to talk to, so I asked her for a clean water glass, she responded by saying "wait, I'm busy". A moment later her colleague next to her turn round, so I asked her for a glass. To this, the barista said, "you have no patience". I was stunned by her rudeness. The woman in question has short cropped fair hair and must have been from Australia or New Zealand. Avoid her. She shouldn't be working anywhere near the public.

Great venue to get some work done if you work online. Get there early because all the good desks will be taken and you’ll be relegated to a chair or couch position. WiFi is not too bad, coffee is great and there’s breakfast meal deals. Hot latte will cost you 2.8 pounds, there’s plenty of power points, lots of assorted seating and delicious coffee and snacks to keep you fully charged! #BeatTheGrind

On the one hand, I love the location, the hours, and the design of the space. On the other, their coffee has been really hit-or-miss. First off, this place has better hours than any other coffee shop in the area; if I need coffee just before 7am, this is literally the only place I can go. Second, the lobby of the Ace Hotel is a great spot for people-watching, relaxing, and even getting work done - lots of varied seating areas and different types of spaces. Third, the cafe itself is bright and minimalist, nice for a quick cup or a long linger. Unfortunately, I've been served two lattes and a flat white that were barely warm, never mind hot enough to savor for a while, and the staff seems to be a little too more-hipster-than-thou to provide good service (I've never seen anyone smile, or even imply that they give half a **** about me as a customer). If they could tighten up the coffee prep, maybe hire someone from Taylor St or Ozone, I'd definitely be a regular. As it is, it's only on my list when other places are closed.

Ordered the OJ, chocolate croissant, and the smoked salmon bagel... the OJ was the best of all - clean, refreshing, and possibly freshly squeezed. The croissant and the bagel were okay. Also, I’m a big fan of the Ace Hotel and the space in general, perhaps I expected a bit more from the cafe. All that said, I wasn’t “wow-ed” by any means, but rather simply satiated with my meal. I’d definitely order the OJ again, and if I was in a run probably the croissant. One last thing.... items felt a bit pricey. This is not intended to be a “bad” review, more so just average... hence 3 stars.

These guys must have upped their game since some of these reviews were written! The coffee's great and the staff are super fun and friendly. It's not cheap, but then it's a pretty exceptional location. Go if you want a high-energy workspace

Coffee sucks. Someone would expect better attention to brewing for a coffeeplace at Ace hotel, Shoreditch. Very good place to get some work done! Ace, do find a better coffee partner...

Went there to visit a friend who works there. and ha a terrible service the staff and the barista don't know what coffee they are working with, ordered a flat white and a espresso to take out and I was given a cappuccino to have in, the barista was unprofessional and dirty. I saw doing a batch brew and he put more than one filter in the basket because he doesn't care I assume in my espresso I had bitterness(channeled) thanks to his tamping technique which was poor and bad executed Definetly won't be back even to see my friend. They have a nitro cold brew and they don't know what coffee is in there either. It is a really bad joke go somewhere To get good coffee and service and in return get this... I hope nothing of this will happen again to anyone. But I'm not coming back.

One of the top five coffee shop in my list at London so far, because I prefer strong tasty coffee. And most London coffee is more sour and flat. They have "donuts", which is not every coffee shop have, very "America". Good pastries, beers, cocktails just like other Ace hotel location's. Yes, they have wifi. Long table with lots of seats and plugs, good for groups people and solo to catch up the works and freelancers. Always host the music on the group floor and other events up stairs.

Shocking customer service by the lady taking orders today who was in the yellow shirt. I couldn't believe it. She was rude and had a terrible attitude. The male Barista on the other hand was quite the opposite, very friendly and made a cracker coffee.
