Absolutely delicious Turkish food south of the river. Near the Old and Young Vic and The National. Great two course and wine set menu that is a fabulous deal. It's a perfect pre or post theatre spot and worth a trip just because. Good for vegans and vegetarians too.

Good food, reasonably priced for where it is. Good service too. I accept that the food flavouring has to toned down for a wider clientele, but I would have liked the meat to have been better seasoned / marinated for longer. Eating Turkish in Green lanes for years has made me a bit fussy. This is still good though

Wonderful food and service. We were a large group who had either never met or had met a while back, so we were quite noisy. We were asked if we could keep the noise down. The restaurant was not busy so I'm not sure if a diner complained or the wait or just took it upon himself to tell us off for being happy to see our friends. The waiter could have handled the situation differently. Overall, we had a great time.

Bang average at a price. It's central Waterloo and I get that. Prices are likely to be at a premium but I was expecting more after a friend recommended this place. It started well with olives and bread with a dip, really nice. Beer wasn't cold (1st world problem I know but let's be honest it makes a difference). Main was the mixed grill, a favourite since 1999 according to the menu. It lacked quality meat and contained lots of bread. I wasn't sure about the sauce either. For a place I sought out it will be easily forgotten. Before you ask, in a typically British way I didn't mention this to the staff who were all nice (£10 quid service charge btw). Overall I expected more.

Super accommodating staff… nothing was a problem, even when we sat there for ages after our meal not asking for the bill. They weren’t packed though so I guess we would’ve felt obliged to let others take our seats. But I’ve been here before when it is packed not having booked, and they still found a small table for us. Food all looked amazing, and my 3 friends who had main dishes were very satisfied. My other friend and I shared a selection of starters, most of them lovely but found the lambs liver a bit dry and the sweet potato fries a bit soggy (hence not giving 5 stars). I would definitely come again as I was very happy with my main dish on our previous trip.

We visited today, on a hot Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was quiet. To set a baseline, my wife's side of the family are Lebanese, so we have a good understanding and expectation of Mediterranean food. We ordered the set meal each; drink, 2 mezes and a main at £33.50pp With the meze, the server also brought bread and olives to the table. All good so far. However, the main was just beyond disappointing. I ordered a mixed grill and my wife and mother in law lamb kofta. Everything was dry, the salad was dry, the cous cous ws dry and worst, being a meat lover was the meat was very dry. Partially, I think because the kofta mince was ground too finely and dries during the grilling. This was raised to the server whose solution was to add some sauce. In the end we left the mains and were given a 25% discount. However, given that we left our mains and the server agreed with us, I don't think the discount is reflective. We still paid £87 for a meal we didn't eat. An Iceland frozen donar kebab microwave meal would have been a more enjoyable option. You are simply paying for the location. I won't go back and I strongly wouldn't recommend the eaterie to others

Update today (18/5/22) after 2 months: I had the kofte kebab again and this time the couscous was cooked to perfection and fluffy when forked. The appetiser of humus, olives and Anatolian bread is always very tasty. So 5* for the food so the kitchen has made good. Unfortunately, the service was surly and inattentive and had to chase for attention to get the pepper sauce accompaniment. It was a quiet time as sat down at 1200hrs. So I’ll leave the overall rating at 4* with a hope that improves but on that shan’t rush back. Original review: Had the Sahan fixed price menu before the theatre yesterday ( 9/3/22) with a glass of the Turkish red wine with a grand total of £24.98 including 12.5% service which is a very reasonable deal for the overall quality and quantity of the meal. The service was prompt and friendly and I particularly liked the humus and mixed olives with the lovely Turkish bread provided gratis at the start. Quite frankly with this, a starter and a main there is no room for a sweet! I chose the Tabboulleh as a starter and the Kofte kebab with couscous and an onion and lettuce salad with the Tas optional and delicious hot pepper sauce- 2 spoons is a must! The only let down was that the couscous was slightly soggy and coagulated and although edible it was not like the normal fluffy condition that should be served and most likely overcooked (it is a pasta after all). For this point only I have scored 4 stars as at the time there were very few covers for the kitchen, otherwise it would have been a five as it detracted from my full enjoyment. I attended at 1210 and there were only a few tables occupied and had a choice but it quickly filled up within the hour I was there and I can understand the popularity in that location. I have no quibble in returning to Tas for an expectant 5!

Food tasted great, prices were reasonable, service was great as well. Appreciated them constantly topping us up with bread to mop up all the food!

Highly recommended, great food, sufficient staff to provide a good service (it's quite a large and busy venue), and a high energy atmosphere (read quite noisy, which was perfect because we were a party of 8 and this was a perfect fit). You probably pay a little more than average but this is returned in the quality.

We visited for drinks, we were waiting for our table at another restaurant elsewhere. Tas restaurant was very busy with diners and they were under no obligation to let us take a table. They squeezed us in however which was greatly appreciated. The food that was on the other tables looked great. Great staff, highly recommended.

Food was fine but not amazing. Service was poor. We arrived at 4 pm, restaurant was quiet, 4 staff who were really good at avoiding to look at tables/customers when walking around. Difficult to get their attention.

Went for a lunch with family on this restaurant which we found on Google maps due to the Turkish restaurants reputation. We have been many times on other Turkish restaurants, they bring full dishes, bread at the start and tasty food. This time, we had no bread, the food was ok, but the portions were half or less than what we have eaten before. We needed more than one portion, but at a costly price. We even had to ask for bread as it was not present. Service charge was applied too. Would definitely not recommend.

Went in for a quick dinner, an hour and a half later we were still waiting for our mains. Two small hot starters turned up cold after 45 mins then sat on our table for another 45 mins. I had to ask where our food was, I genuinely don't think it would ever have come. When it did turn up it was mediocre at best, the kebab tasted of very little. Very poor all round unfortunately.

Musaka tasted really good and the shared meze for starters. Carrot cake was delicious too. Thank you. Excellent service.

A great "Christmas pt. 2" meal here with the Allens. Staff shortage meant we had the fixed meal but this was tasty, varied and served by some friendly waiters. Thanks Tas.

We were recommended to this restaurant by our hotel. And it was a great recommendation. Food was very well presented and yummy. We had the hummus, coban salata and the Tas special which is a lamb dish. Food portions were generous. Service was friendly and prompt. Recommended!

Very pleased with our experince at the restaurant. 5 of us visited including a vegan and someone suffering from a nut allergy. Staff very helpful with the questions we had - mentioning what dishes could be made vegan and ones to avoid for certain nuts. Dishes were tasty and good portion size. Would return (or maybe try one of their other restaurants).

Tasty hot food. Good service. Resent the service charge automatically added. Surely that should be consumer perrogative? Having said that, we would have left a generous tip anyway, but I like to have a choice.

Dinner for two had the set menu, 2 meze and a main each so had a nice selection to choose from and because of the two starters it was like tapas between the both of us. The food was great, very flavoursome and good size portions plus the bread is to die for!

Lovely food, atmosphere and staff were really helpful. However a little expensive as a lunch option so i would consider again for dinner, it would be nice if a smaller option could be added for lunch (rather than a 2/3 course meal many would not have time for).

Lamb shank in picture. They have the potential to be good but unfortunately we had a lot of issues during our visit - under cooked chicken, forgot our childrens' meals. Not too sure if I would return.
