Friendly welcome on arrival. Our waiters were first class and very friendly. To the food. Steaks were excellent. Beef dripping chips were a masterpiece. Bone marrow and bone marrow gravy take the meal to another level. Pre-ordered birthday cake for my son was fabulous value for money. Incredibly rich chocolate cake served with candles and birthday wishes from waiter. Great experience and not as expensive as many reviews would make out. Thank you Hawksmoor team 👏

Visited for lunch and had the set menu. The food was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and even though it was rump it was incredibly tender. Dessert was amazing, sticky toffee sundae - decadent but not sickly and overwhelming. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient but not pushy.

I had the express menu which was £23 for a two course meal, you can choose starter and main OR main and dessert. The rump steak was perfectly executed and tasty. I added on a caramelised bacon which was sweet and salty and super satisfying. For desserts, I chose the peanut butter ice cream shortbread. It was also the perfect mix of sweet and salty and hot and cold. I’m not much of a dessert person but I wiped it all up.

Hawksmoor Borough is hands down the place to be for a steak lover in London, and what makes the experience even better is their staff’s impressive knowledge about the food. These folks know their steaks inside and out! The moment you sit down, you’re in for a treat. The staff doesn’t just take your order; they guide you through the menu, explaining the different cuts, cooking methods, and what sets them apart. They’re like steak sommeliers, helping you choose the perfect steak to match your preferences. If you have any questions or dietary concerns, don’t hesitate to ask because they’ll have all the answers. It’s not just about the steaks; they can recommend fantastic sides, sauces, and wine pairings to complete your meal. The staff’s enthusiasm for the food is contagious, making your dining experience not just delicious but also incredibly educational. So, if you’re looking for a great meal with a side of steak wisdom, Hawksmoor Borough is where you need to be!

I recently enjoyed a Sunday roast at Hawksmoor Borough, and I can't praise it enough. The food was simply delicious, and the Sunday roast was a highlight. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the perfectly cooked meat made it a memorable meal. Additionally, the atmosphere at Hawksmoor Borough was fantastic. It had a warm and inviting ambiance that enhanced the dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Sunday roasts or just looking for a great dining spot, Hawksmoor Borough is definitely worth a visit.

I celebrated my anniversary here last week and I'm so happy I chose Hawksmoor. It took me a long time to decide where to go but I made the best decision of my life. From the beginning to the end it was amazing. The chateaubriand was not just perfectly cooked but I've never tasted a steak so good. It was out of this world. The starters, the sides, and the dessert were all perfect. I could go into details but we all know that the meat was the star of the dinner and I can't imagine going elsewhere for a juicy steak instead of Hawksmoor. Special thanks to our lovely waitress who made our night even more special. I hope we can return soon as now we know where to get the best steak in London

Guys, I am a big eater! I like special, refined, tasty and at the same time traditional or modern dishes. So, Here I found all this together and much more. There are only a few restaurants around the world that I can say that about: Every bite takes you to heaven!❤ That's all I can say about food, it's up to you to try👍😉 The restaurant staff, from the entrance to the exit, absolutely professional and extremely kind. Carlos was the one who took care of us and our table and made us feel spoiled! Thank you Carlos, thank you all, also for the surprise at the end, which really delighted me!🥂❤🥂❤ Guys, I highly recommend 👌👏👍 Just a few pictures......

I was craving for steak and the sirloin more than satisfied my craving!!! (don’t be fooled by the brutalist plating it’s extremely flavorful and juicy) I came alone for lunch and I would say that it’s a good place for dining on your own! The sides were excellent as well. My server was very meticulous with explaining the menu and giving recommendations. Will definitely visit again when my craving for steak hits!

Decided to try theirs Sunday roast. Beef was tender, juicy and cooked perfectly. I really liked the greens (not sure what was that) but it was nicely spiced and yummy. Second dish was whole sea bream and again it was delicious. Bear in mind that you have to pick your sides separately. Overall this restaurant deserve 5 stars for food and most importantly for table service. We felt like we were taken care of and that's how it suppose to look like. Peace 🤙🏻

Came for the Sunday lunch. They did mention they’d serve the roast beef pink, but I think it was just on the wrong side of rare - parts through the centre felt like they were hadn’t quite felt enough heat and were edging towards raw. If that’s your thing, you might enjoy it! Gravy was excellent - only complaint was that we could really have used a bit more! Yorkshire and vegetables (carrot and cabbage) were great. It’s a lovely cosy dining room and makes you think of creating a family Sunday roast tradition. Service was extremely polished, prompt and attentive.

Absolutely delighted to consistently review Hawksmoor Borough so highly. Even when we have any blip in standards, hawksmoor always go above and beyond to rectify of their own accord. We visited last night and Ruth our amazing waitress, full of Scottish charm and very personable was honest enough to let us know she had forgotten to put our order through. We were not fussed at all, but she went above and beyond to ensure we received top service thereafter with the additions of starters, sided and much much more. A perfect sign of great customer service, even without us complaining. I have always had a great experience at this branch and can't wait to come back. Thanks to Ruth adding some extra additions we managed to try some things we had not previously. The maple bacon is a must try for side orders which typically I'd never ordered before. Our go to usuals I'd highly recommend are as follows: Starters- the Scallops and the crab on sourdough! Mains- steak of your choice with sides of bone marrow, lettuce as it brings freshness, the mac and cheese, maple bacon and fries of your choice. I prefer the thinner beef dripping ones over the triple cooked fat chips but both are nice. My go to dessert is the peanut butter cookie (which I hope they never take off the menu...ever!) We also had the dessert wine pairing with it which went down a treat! I can't wait to return! If I had to leave constructive criticism the only thing I'd mention is tables are quite close together which makes it hard for waiters to squeeze inbtween when clearing and can be a little intrusive for some people on the table next door. It didn't bother us though.

Really enjoyed a quiet(ish) Sunday night dinner here. The space is a great historical industrial setting right inside Borough Market, and the lights from the market gave it a Christmassy feel at night. The steak was the main event, but also don’t miss out on the “peanut butter shortbread,” which isn’t actually shortbread. If you like peanut butter, caramel, and a shortcrust pastry, this is your thing.

Thank you for welcoming me again... Very tasty two course meal for my boyfriend and I. Was a lovely date night experience. We had the pork ribs to start - cooked to perfection. Ribeye and Sirloin mains - again cooked to our requests very delicious, chips, sweet potato, asparagus (nice new addition to the menu), and spinach as sides. Hats off to the chef and 10/10 service. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Excellent dinner spot at borough market. Great place for meat lovers. One of our party also ordered a burger - just how they should be done. Monkfish was one of the best we ever had. Also very inventive salads fitting the ambiance of the place. Very attentive service. Highly recommended.

Such a great place to dine, but particularly on a Monday if (like me) you have a passion for wine. You can bring a bottle of any size and pay only £5 corkage to enjoy alongside your meal. This is an absolute steal, given most establishments will charge £10-20 minimum for a standard 75cl bottle. Of course, the food is excellent, too, and the waiting staff have always been very friendly and prompt with service.

Epic Sunday roast! Service was good; the team was just rushed off their feet as it was busy. Lovely gesture with the complimentary petite fours & cocktail samplers when they found out we were celebrating our anniversary. Will definitely go back 👏🏻

A delicious Sunday roast - can’t complain about the portion sizes and the quality. Nice vibe, bustly and busy. However, the service was slow and our steak was ordered medium rare, but came a bit more well done than what we’d liked - we sent back and were satisfied with our new cuts. The cauliflower cheese and sticky toffee pudding were alright, but nothing to phone home about!

No matter how many roasts I try in the UK, Hawksmoor is always in my heart and my top. The service is also unmatchable and they understand the need for extra gravy. It's a plus that it's not incredibly expensive like some fancy roasts nowadays.

Been here a few times, steak is usually very good, was given a side we didn't order and were charged for it. Good location and nice atmosphere.

Exceptionally good in non steak dishes. Plenty of wine choices. Good service and great vibes. We tried monkfish, sea bream, crispy pork belly, freshly made crab toast, steak. Don’t forget the desserts, incredibly delicious! Peanut butter short bread is just amazing! Highly recommended!

Outstanding service, delicious food and the best Birthday dessert. Pricey but worth it. Thank you for making the evening special!

Lived up to expectations, great environment, service phenomenal. You get what you pay for, and you're paying for the name cha ching!! Scallops were out of this world, steak and sides were decent but nothing Flat Iron can't provide you. However the bone marrow gravy was unbeatable, and the pear+honey cheesecake was top notch. 👌🏼 Huge selling point in it being BYO. Great evening.

Food was delicious and decadent. Staff and service was great. The general vibe was chill and laidback. Nice place to have a date and just talk. Sent me straight to a food coma on the way home 🤣

I had a great time here. Really helpful friendly staff, superb food, and great wine pairings. I was on my own and I couldn't do one of the big steaks so I went for the set lunch. The tomato salad was sublime and the steak was great. I would go back tomorrow if I could 🙂 I will go back again for sure. And thanks for the great service Feargal and to your excellent sommelier who's name I didn't catch but whose knowledge and enthusiasm was inspiring.

We came for a birthday dinner and had a lovely night. It is a large dining space. I was hesitating a little as it looked very formal in the pictures, but it was totally nice and a warm environment. We had prime cut and it was delicious! Mash and gravy was very tasty as well. Lettuce salad and garlic mushrooms were nothing specials. Thank you so much for complimentary birthday drink. We will definetly come back and I recommend this restaurant.

Great steakhouse. I had the rib eye steak which was delicious and satisfying. Good balance of flavours and texture which makes the steak very hearty and appetising. Paired with a good glass of red wine helps to top the experience. For sides, I had the creamed spinach and chips which were served fresh and well seasoned. Service is good. Also, please take note to make reservation beforehand as it gets super busy during dinner service.

Impeccable service from start to finish, awesome crafted cocktails by the highly skilled bartender, perfect timing by restaurant team including kitchen and the menu delivers absolute quality every time including this one. No interruptions to our conversation beyond amiable enquiry to our comfort. Would go back under current management time and time again.

As usual Hawksmoor is very consistent. Steak was cooked as requested. Sticky tofee pudding still remains the highlight (much like every other visit). Only complaint here is that it took over 30 minutes to get any of my food which is not really amazing turnover (will have to check if this is a consistent issue or not)

What a lovely experience. Daughter booked this as a treat for our trip to London celebrating me becoming an OAP. Staff were all friendly and very helpful. Ambience is cosy but busy, though not too noisy. We had scallops, which were absolutely perfect and fillet steak - we shared sides of chips and garlic mushrooms as neither of us are huge eaters and the steak was big at 300g. It was cooked exactly as we like it. Daughter had organised a surprise glass of champagne and a birthday cake with the staff's help, which was just lovely. All in all a fantastic meal.

Fantastic food, really nice restaurant, service excellent. Prices a little higher but if you want the quality and service then sometimes you pay a little extra. Had mains and dessert, the steak was sublime and tasty. Will recommend this Restaurant.

One of the best steaks in a long time! Loved the atmosphere and staff, super quick and effective. Good choise or red wines. Definitely will be back.

This award winning steak house which serves only grass-fed British steak (dry-aged at least 35 days). We ordered Roasted Scallops, Bone Marrow with Onions, Potted Beef & Bacon and Smoked Mackerel Salad as starters, Steak and Roasted Sea Bream as mains. The steak was cooked to perfection as well as the sides. The bone marrow was incredibly delicious, buttery and melty, a must-try. Scallops and Sea Bream were absolutely tasty and fresh. Desserts were lovely too, hubby had Peanut Butter Shortbread, a pastry filled with molten dark chocolate sauce and peanut butter, topped with salted caramel ice cream and crushed peanuts. I ordered Strawberry & Elderflower Pavlova, zingy and refreshing. Great service and lovely ambiance! Highly recommend!

Came in today and had ta 3 course meal, food was Amazing, but more Importantly for me (I'm clinically extremely vulnerable and only ate out as we had no choice due to having to be in London for a day for hospital visits.) They made me feel so safe and I was able to enjoy my meal, they sat us in the corner away from others and made sure staff had masks on while serving us at the table. Nothing was too much trouble.

I've lost count of the number of times that I've visited Hawksmoor for breakfast lunch or dinner. In fact one time I had it for breakfast lunch and dinner at different venues. Its unquestionably the best place in London for steak, their mac and cheese is spot on. Oh and the creamed spinach is a go to. Plus - little hint here - if you're stuffed after the main - find room for the sticky toffee sundae. You're welcome.

Excellent Sunday roast beef. Gravy tasted fantastic, Yorkshire's top notch and beef well seasoned. Super friendly, efficient staff. Great experience and atmosphere.

Excellent taste, value for money and amazing service. The meat was so tender and juicy that we wish we could eat more! I have tried their offer of express menu, 3 courses for £23, that’s a steal deal! Burger with blue cheese was so good too! Staff is very accommodating and friendly, they even helped us with the bikes and locked them in safe space so we could enjoy our meals!

  • 5/5 Tinesh K. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing dining experience, and the best steak I've had in a long, long time! The sides were also really good. Was hoping for draft beer rather than from a can but the food makes up for that.

Devon Crab on Toast, Herb-fed chicken and Steak were amazing. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Sublime steaks and shaky Pete’s beer is to die for. As I had been to seven dials and not to borough I liked the slightly more causal feel but not compromising on the taste. As a result it was the best place to max out our evening and sample everything on offer. Lap it up! (Also thanks Joe for the wine recommendations and service during the night 👍👍)
