In a nutshell, disappointing. We ordered 5 dishes but only the tortilla and the octopus are tasty from my POV. If you have ever been to Spain or some decent Spanish restaurants, I doubt if you will enjoy Sabor much. I’m a big fan of grilled fish and that’s my ‘go to’ dish if I go to a seafood restaurant. The lemon sole I ordered here is a massive disappointment - the fish is overpowered by the lemon and it tastes bitter. For the food I will give it 2 stars and the extra star is for the service. It is such a shame that the food is just mediocre here as we did book it 2months in advance.

A really, good tapas place with an excellent experience at the counter. The atmosphere is great and it being busy and bustling really adds to it all, even if it means you have to wait a little bit longer. Food was solid, although some dishes a bit hit and miss, the ones that did hit were full of flavour! Octopus is a must in here. Michelin star but still pricey for what it is. The host was amazing, really did amazing squeezing us in!

Some of the best croquettes anywhere, but other dishes raise questions about the star. Sit at the counter for an entertaining view of the kitchen, or upstairs for more relaxed tables. Excellent service. Beware the poor price to portion size ratio.

Should be p**s artist. This experience was the worst experience in recent memory. Poor service, poor quality product and poor management . I would recommend going to any of the many great restaurants in blackheath..... This is not one of them. Our service took almost 2.5 hours, hardly any drinks brought to us or offered (and we had to remind constantly), food took over an hour for the starters to arrive, for which they forgot the child's starter. Then another hour for the mains for which I was desperate to leave but the server kept saying the food coming. Even after this the food was average. Everything was hard work. We complained to the waitress and the management, the only thing they did was take a child's meal of at £12 however our child did not receive the starter or drink or dessert! but they really were not interested. The manager also did not know the rules for the government scheme refusing to incorporate children as a dinner, even through they are allowed. We subsequently called him (Mark) to correct him, he said he would call us back after he would look into it but two weeks have gone, and no call. He tried when we did call him to justify that we got £12 off for the kids meal, failing to realise he did not deliver the child's meal and thinking this should make up for the government scheme. Substandard for Blackheath..... Please don't go here, its full of pain misery and just an overall disappointing experience which seems led by the top down. I was so desperate to go here, I was so eager for it to be a great experience, I was so hoping the management would take corrective action after there mistake, I left my number and was hoping for better. I hate bad reviews but this was a low point for us.

Just go. The food is sublime, the communal atmosphere around the counter is great, and the service was impeccable. I’m not sure you can order anything bad, but we particularly liked the ox tail, the “Sabor sandwich,” and the rhubarb dessert. It’s just a shame they didn’t have basque cheesecake the day we were there, as I’ve had it before and it’s amazing.

Really incredible tapas. The suckling pig was quite just *chefs kiss*, perfect level of crispy skin + tender meat. Definitely worth it for a special occasion

Every plate of food was delicious and served one plate at a time so we could savour it to the fullest. The tomato and bread was honestly really good and I recommend it. All the seafood was fresh and was cooked with the unique Spanish charm. The counter bar and the restaurant upstairs (that you can reserve) have different menus and this time we ate at the counter downstairs. The staff was friendly and recommended us the dishes we wanted to try.

Recently enjoyed a trip to Sabor which has been a long time coming. To be clear we ate upstairs at Asador. While the menus are similar I imagine the experience is different at the counter. That being said service was excellent from diligent filling of water, subtle and good food suggestions, and attentiveness. Food: 3.5 Service: 4.5 We ordered a sharing of the lamb ribs which were well seasoned but a bit fatty which took away from the seasoning. Shrimp croquetas were perfect and probably the best of the night. Simple sides like the broccoli were nice but with the potatoes I felt it was a bit over-powering on flavour. Nice combinations though and I like that they stay true to culture and types of seasoning. The new pistachio mousse was amazing and inventive. Shows that the chefs in the kitchen have absolute skill and attention to detail. There could just be some refining on the savoury dishes.

Casual and vibrant atmosphere. Freshly made good tapas dishes. There is room for improvement on taste. Menu is small. The drinks option is also limited. Service was friendly and efficient.

Fantastic place. Busy that also says something about the place. Reservation needed for the restaurant, downstairs they will find a seat or just have a cocktail first. The service is incredible fast but good. Food is good, price is good ... of you can't go to Spain ... go to Sabor.

Fantastically atmospheric restaurant perfect for intimate dinners and yet also for groups, went to a pop up with David Rickett, the Masterchef runner up, some fantastic food, especially the prawn tart starter and the halibut in a yellow pepper and coconut emulsion, service was on point, would reccomends Artis to anyone

The venue is absolutely stunning. Lots of my friends commented on how lovely the colour scheme was and took photos on the staircase or with the unicorn(!) downstairs. I ordered some bottles of Prosecco and some focaccia, cold meats and roasted vegetable platters for the party.

Great staff, location and room but really boring food. The chef needs to read Jamie Oliver's 30 minute meals. The fish was "well done" and no effort was made other than to overcook it. No lemon or lime, or even parsley. How about some fennel seeds, or lemongrass or a bit of red chilli, or chinese five spice, or pancetta, or, or, or ... and some tomatoes roasted in the oven with basil and balsamic vinegar. It's not hard. Blackheath needs a restaurant with good food that isn't a chain so you have an opportunity but if you don't seriously improve the quality of your food you'll blow it. .

Very disappointed with my first visit to Sabor. Food were hugely overpriced and mediocore. It’s great if you have never been to Spain before, but if you have, then I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed like I did! The prawns were pathetic, small and not fresh at all. They tasted very stale and costed like £13. Not sure if anyone at Sabor tasted the dish but I’m fairly sure fresh prawns wouldn’t taste so mushy and stale like they had at Sabor. The tortilla was not traditional, more like thin slices of potatoes wrapped inside an egg omelette sheet. The dessert didn’t taste good either and quite simple. Can’t really justify the michelin star with the food they served, but the price certainly did. The lady staff upstairs was rushing us to finish in a way that she kept taking our plates away even though we were still eating the dish and the sauce was still on the plate. She asked if she could take the plate away by the time she already removed the plates. Felt quite rushed the whole time.

Michelin gave them one star and they certainly lived up to the reputation. Small tight menu serving a variety of flavorful tapas dishes. The crew were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and courteous. It didn’t take long for the dishes to be served.

Sabor is one of the best Spanish restaurants I have been to. They offer fantastic food, good wine recommendations, exceptional service, and a great atmosphere for enjoying tapas. We tried many of the dishes and wished we had room for more. The atmosphere is down-to-earth and welcoming. The waiters were very professional, but at the same time lighthearted and quick on their feet. They were obviously having fun in their job and with the guests, and they seemed passionate about both the food and giving the customers a great experience. We brought our 1-year-old child, and that was no problem. The staff immediately showed up with a highchair, and the bustling atmosphere and ambient sound made it perfect for our, at times, grumpy little one. They were very attentive to our child and joked around with him, which we always appreciate. The Michelin star is well earned. I’ll definitely come back for more.

YUM YUM YUM. The best tapas in London. Tasty, well priced, great service. The only downside is a long-ish wait since walk-ins can only sit at the bar. The tortilla (Spanish omelette) was so fluffy and light (even though it has potatoes in it), the fried fish was perfectly done and crisp, don’t miss out on their signature gem with the tiny crispy shrimps, quails egg and caviar. You really can’t go wrong with any of the dishes!

10 out of 10 dining experience in Sabor. While we were drinking the cocktail at the bar, we tasted their olive, which is the best I’ve ever had. We even ordered again at the end of our meal. Lol. The service was great, the waiter asked all the details about our dietary choices, and he recommended us the best food and wine. The vibe of the restaurant was very pleasant as well.

Every dish tastes good! The atmosphere in the restaurant is good! The service of the staff is quite good, but the dining tables are close together. The table positions are close together. The seafood rice menu tastes very good!! It’s recommended to order it, but the price and potion of seafood rice is in opposite directions, but overall it is considered good.

Outstanding Spanish tapas restaurant. Split level with different menus/formats for each space. Personally, I prefer the menu at the counter, which also allows you to watch the kitchen at work. Delicious selection of wine and sherry to pair with outstanding food. Perfect for a small bite or a full meal

Interesting and lively environment inside the restaurant. The service and food were late. Some flavors were excellent, some mediocre. Not enthusiastically particularly. The quantity is small and very expensive. They did not give me the opportunity to refuse to be charged the 12.5% service and I had to pay for it all.

We sat at the counter and I enjoyed the atmosphere very much. The food was delicious, I would recommend the croquetas and tortilla (omelette) they were wow!! We we're pre-celebrating our 5th year anniversary and they even put a candle in our cake and wrote felicidades (congratulations) on our food list. I would definitely be back. Staff super friendly too.

I ordered the Asador Menu Box £90.00, for an evening with friends on a Zoom Call each cooking the same dishes together. On opening the box that evening, two of the main dishes were missing. For that sort of money, very unprofessional of them and no explanation and proper apology given. I will not use them again, and neither will my friends.

The food here is excellent, the quality of ingredients are to a high standard and so is the cooking. The staff are also lovely, my only gripe was that its a bit frustrating that you can't order the counter items upstairs. I don't really see why, and it's even more frustrating that you cannot book the counter in oder to eat those items. I find it quite absurd. That aside, it is one of the best places to go in London for tapas, so do not give it a miss if you have not tried it yet. Good quality wine too. We had the lobster special which though it was a challenge to eat (it comes shell on) was absolutely divine. Grab some bread and mop up the juices, I promise you won't be disappointed

One word. Wow. The food is nothing short of sublime. Decor is classy and interesting. We ate: Prawn Croquetas (superb) Crispy pig's ear (delicious and really great to try something different) Squid Romana (the sauce is packed full of flavour) Octopus (melt in the mouth tender) Seafood rice (delicious) Tortilla (brilliantly cooked and excellent texture) Patatas Mojo Rojo and Mojo Verde (some of the best potatoes I've had) Segovian suckling pig (a showstopper, skin is phenomenally crispy and meat delightfully tender. The jus is delicious) It's certainly reasonably priced and service is excellent. This is a real gem of London's culinary landscape.

Well a year later and during these dismal times a re-visit and OMG tapas with punchy flavours, OK staff had more time to talk but have to take it back next visit im booking a table in the El Asador, salivated when i read the menu....yep you have guessed correctly missing my trips to Spain...no sun but great food. Previous review a year ago....As a regular visitor to Spain my hubbie who feeds off telegraph reviews suggested this place. Yes luvely, yes young, yes great atmosphere and staff but....where was that Spanish generosity when you watch the staff count out olives...come on...overpriced, small portions and a lot of hype. My hubbie paid and finally admitted to cost...not for me I'm afraid London has better

TripAdvisor has more honest reviews Worst service ever! I used to love this restaurant when it was Locale Unfortunately I left before my mains arrived due to a very rude waitress. My partner and I ordered a bottle of wine and a bottle of still water. I immediately tasted that the water was tap water I asked my partner to try the water and he instantly said the same. When our starters came I addressed my complaint, the waiter very quickly snapped saying that it wasn't true when I asked him to try it he refused. He left then another lady came to our table saying that she heard the complaint and wanted to assure us that she had opened in front of us,a lame attempt to try and clean the restaurants name, when I answered that it's very easy to unscrew and screw a lid she started to loose her cool with me and talkes to me extremely rudely ALL OVER A BOTTLE OF WATER!!! Instead of simply saying "I assure you this is not tap water but if you are not happy ill take it away for you" Instead she argued with a customer about A BOTTLE OF WATER, both my partner and I were appalled and requested for the mains to be cancelled and the bill.

I was overly impressed with Artis, I booked this place from the back of reviews on google as I was looking for a fairly local place from Eltham to celebrate my birthday with my siblings and son. The ambience, atmosphere, music and staff were great. We loved the pictures and layout of the place. The service was on point and the food came out very presentable. The venue is ideal for date nights, celebrations and catching up with friends/ family. We’ll definitely be coming back. Good choice of food and drinks. Thanks for a great evening.

We booked the whole restaurant and bar for my daughter's 18th. The owners (Mark and Vanessa) were amazing throughout and the service, food, cocktails, wine and overall experience on the night were simply first rate. They've created a beautiful, dramatic space with an excellent atmosphere, and complement that with a great menu and superb cocktail and wine list from both a taste and value perspective. Thoroughly recommend a visit, whether for a special occasion or just a regular night out.

Hidden gem! Couldn’t have asked for a nicer meal. Perfectly prepared food at a good time and courteous staff, reasonable price for quality. Would recommend burrata and then spinach tagliatelle will king prawns. Will be returning!

Fantastic!!! Amazing atmosphere and even better food. I would have loved to order everything on the menu if I could!. The staff want you to have a good time and are super friendly. Will be back on my next trip to London :)

Such an exceptional experience. It was just me solo so I couldn’t try as many things as I would have liked. The pan con tomate has razor thin slices of aged beef on them which is spectacular. The tuna was equally delicious but the star was the tortilla española which a chef cooked in the most adorable pan pretty much right in front of me. My server wrote my order on the counter in front of me and was super helpful in explaining the whole menu. No matter your number this joint is legit.

The food here is delicious ! There is very good menu choice as well as daily specials to choose from. The staff explain the menu and are very helpful. I really recommend the Razor Clams if they have them. The service time is very fast. An open view kitchen so you can see the chefs. A really great place to eat.

Our second visit and absolutely amazing experience. Nieves Barragan was in attendance and wished me happy birthday, the food was delicious (both on the menu and the specials) and sitting at the counter watching chefs work their magic makes it so special. I’d find it hard to go anywhere else in the West End

Lunch for two today Amazingly great and convivial environment. Was so welcoming. A pity I could not drink as I was going to the gym after. Prices were very reasonable for what it was and I especially loved the tortilla and the croquettes. Recommend the counter experience for the really authentic feeling. Would go again for sure!

Wonderful food and attentive service :) Staff on duty were so enthusiastic about recommending the different dishes! Hands down the best octopus I’ve ever had - it was melt in your mouth and flavorful, despite the light seasoning. We had the lamb special for mains, and it was so tender it tasted almost like poultry. LOVED the dessert (a custard like base with nuts and honey) which the restaurant kindly gave us complimentary to celebrate our engagement :)

Casual 1* spot with no pretentiousness, it's really all about the food. Highlight was the octopus and the truffle pumpkin, just wish there was more! The service was ok, felt a bit rushed as we had the early 6pm sitting and the 8pm table was right on our heels.

Sabor is a comfort tapas restaurant where they use traditional techniques on cooking combined with modern ideas. The overall design and atmosphere is cozy. Having its open kitchen with a bar on the other side makes it admirable. I was expecting from them delicious, mouthwatering dishes since they were awarded a Michelin star in 2023. I tried the boiled octopus which was incredibly soft but it lacked flavored since it had lots of olive oil and felt too greasy. The shrimp croquettes were exceptional; they combined lots of flavor and their feeling was very creamy. One of the best dishes was the oven cooked piglet. Lots of flavor, crunchy skin, and exceptionally tender! But the best plate without doubt, what the blue fin tuna which was extremely flavorfull as it combined a ponzu type dressing and avocado. The service was great and friendly, keen to help with an excellent knowledge of the menu despite having done a forgivable mistake at the bill.

Exceptional food. Worth their michelin star although not "fine dining" as such. The turbot (oh the turbot)- possibly the best fish dish I have ever had in my life (and being Mediterranean I have had a few fish before). Strongly recommend. Go now!

We had a reservation at Sabor, but it turned out to be a surprise when we discovered that the counter menu and upstairs menu differed. Thankfully, the accommodating staff allowed us to change to the counter bar. I would recommend ordering the octopus and squid ink paella. 🦑🖤🥘 Truly amazing! Other dishes are good but not quite as outstanding. The service made our dining experience all the more enjoyable. 👏🏼😊 Overall, very nice! I think the vibes of this place suit for dinner with a small group of friends. Will definitely come back for more 🍽️🌟

One of the best restaurants in London, they have 3 types of menu, one for stools seat, another one for ground floor tables and the top one for upstairs. I recommend you to try the stools one, for couples order one omelette per person and two more tapas for share from the menu. Finally a desserts are delicious.

We tried both the upstairs and the counter over different evenins. The counter offers a wide selection of fresh fish and meat, in addition to some tapas options (but it is walk-in only), while the upstairs has only a tapas-style menu (but takes reservations). Both options have a very tasty selection, though we found some dishes to be amazing and some to be not quite there. Food is also quite expensive. Would definitely recommend the black rice and the appetizer with micro shrimps (don't recall the name).
