Poor service and some staff have an attitude. Felt judged by a particular member of staff who appeared to decide if you get the table type request or not. Some staff very friendly and attentive by so unprofessional when they almost argue between each other in front of customers. One waiter even slammed the door to outside after having a disagreement. Food was good but you can also get much better elsewhere for the same price or cheaper. It is very busy and cramped inside, my chair kept on being bashed by staff walking past. Tables are very close and inside is really rather loud and packed. Wine we ordered was warm and after saying at the start of the meal nothing was done so got it removed from the bill as we simply didn’t drink it. ****Update**** I got a response to my review so emailed as suggested. 2 months later no response so just feels like an empty token gesture but the reality is they don’t care. Other tables around us got the wrong food which they didn’t order, whilst another waited an hour for a cocktail. Feels like they are living off the name and are happy because people come through the door. Wouldn’t go back as there are more than enough choices in London.

Excellent place to enjoy a great meal and wonderful ambiance! The food was delicious and the drinks were lovely well. The fried zucchini sticks were really fantastic as well as the desserts! The staff was outstanding! A huge shout out goes to our server Ayomide who was personable, funny and helpful. In addition, Adina, Claudia and Khalid also made this experience a winner! This place is definitely worth checking out if you are in the neighborhood!

Supremely friendly, courteous and efficient. Some great outside seating even in the depths of Winter, blankets and heaters supplied which makes the ambience and experience so different from sitting inside. Food standard, service and choices as per the other branches, that is.... first class! The cheese souffle is to die for, the venison delightful, the truffle burger, the best we have ever tasted, and the chicken juicy and succulent. A lighter than air profiterole at the end rounded off our dinner perfectly. A very pleasant and enjoyable end to the day after walking and shopping, we left relaxed, content and happy as always.

Chain restaurant of impeccable quality. Young friendly staff, rustic decor, outstanding menu and good ambience. The seats are comfortable and well spaced out. The bathroom facilities are elaborate and eccentrically decorated, but are very clean. Unfortunately the bathroom facilities are downstairs - which can be a issue if you are not mobile or are frail. The food is of exceptional quality. Reasonably priced. And presented like works of art. The chefs are excellent. You will never have a disappointing experience at this restaurant. Everyone should come here. Opening hours are extensive and the menus cater for this. This is one of the best restaurants in london.

We enjoyed our experience here. The food was excellent and really great quality. I especially loved the fishcake and my husband's tempura prawn starter was amazing. The cocktails were great, and reasonable considering the area. The staff were kind and friendly, especially the manager who did make us laugh towards the end of the meal. The only reason I took away a star was because it took 35 minutes for our cocktails to arrive (apparently they weren't punched in the first time until we asked again) and then because our table was near the front door, we had people constantly waiting around us which was a bit off-putting. Otherwise, we would probably return when it was slightly less busy as I'm guessing they were just understaffed.

This should be 4.5 stars. While the service and attention to details was impressive, however, there were gaps when someone (not our server) popped over to assist they didn't follow through with the request until we asked again 10+ minutes later. That said, our server Alexandros was fantastic! Always making spot on suggestions while being super friendly at the same time. We ordered the beef tartare, which was fantastic, the shepherds pie also good with a creative spin, and not what you expect. The scallops appetizer comes with 3 scallops and 3 potatoes... Slightly deceptive and not exactly worth the money. The Korean chicken had good flavor and great presentation, but felt kinda unequal to some of the other more impressive entrees. Maybe because chicken is hard to make impressive. The salt and pepper squid was a tasty, and what your expect for fried calamari. For dessert we had the chocolate bomb, but it was more of a bust. The fancy Carmel presentation pour to melt the chocolate was just that, a presentation... It basically transforms the desert into a solid blob of inedible sugar... Do not recommend. Minus the cold weather and the lack of working heaters outside, overall a great experience, with very friendly and accommodating staff!

We needed a little something to set us up for a day out in London. Terrible journey getting up to Town. The trains from the south were severly delayed and my mother had to chamge 3 times. We were greeted nice and escorged to a tabke with a fab view over Covent Garden. The man in a kilt was up his ladder. Food pics below. Including a complimentary slice of birthday cake for my birthday. Sausage and mash - best sauce I've ever tasted Very good good value £10.00 lunch and just what we needed to face the rest of our day Thank you 😁

Gorgeous restaurant. Shepherd's pie was alright but nothing spectacular. The zucchini frites were quite good although the sauce didn't pair that well. Went the first Monday of opening and they provided complimentary glasses of champagne with our drink order. Great service and the place is charmingly decorated. Portions and price not fully justified, meals were tiny.

The Ivy Market Grill is magical in tastes. We booked it for brunch for 4 people. Booking process was smooth online or you can book on call too. In brunch you will get to order from breakfast as well as lunch menu. We ordered Fish & chips, Avocado Benedict, Hot buttermilk pancakes with cappuccino and some mimosas. Food was fresh and well cooked. The whole dine-in experience was great for brunch. We didn't feel like rushing ourself out, we took our time to finish. I would definitely go next time to enjoy the rest of the menu !

What an outstanding restaurant. The food is top class, very well presented and plenty of flavour. The Service is second to none, Chris our waiter made our visit here complete, he was so professional and new all the right things to say. Made my day. I would highly recommend this restaurant if your in covent garden couldn't fault a thing. I will be returning.

Absolutely amazing. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. It’s not cheap but if your nearby I would 100% recommend eating here. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are so friendly. The food is outstanding and to die for (especially the Parmesan and truffle chips. It’s in a great location to with loads around to do. Even the toilets are amazing 😂. Would definitely visit again

To summarize: The food is delicious, it is at a very good price, and you are treated like you are spending thousands of dollars with the kind of respect you get from the staff. It is definitely worth a visit and I would love to visit again. Also, not pictured was the shepherds pie. Which was excellent, of course.

I'm a big fan of The Ivy brand, first time here at Market Place. Staff were great and extremely friendly, made me feel welcomed. Decided to try the new seasonal menu which was nice. Only thing that let it down was the dusty pillar where someone even engraved into it, think this was missed as much of it was cleaned to a point. Overall, great experience and atmosphere.

Amazing cheese souffle and sticky toffee pudding. I really enjoyed both. My sea bass was also nice. There is an extensive range of cocktails including mocktails. The highlight of the evening has to be having the apple tart dessert flambe at the table, such a unique experience. The decor is also lovely, especially the ladies powder room. Service was great. Gluten free options are shown as AG on the menu. Each portion was also substantial, especially the apertifs.

If I could have given 10 stars I would! This was our first visit and we were blown away with the service & food. It’s our 30th wedding anniversary and we thought we would have a nice lunch here as the outside seating area looked very inviting. The reception staff passed us the menus and handed us over to one of the waiters. We were early so had a choice of tables. The staff were polite and attentive at all times. Our shepherd pie was delicious as was all the food we ordered. While chatting with one of the waiters we mentioned our anniversary and at dessert time he brought us an anniversary chocolate bombe each, a lovely gesture and it made our day! Thank you to all the staff, an anniversary meal we will remember. Highly recommend.

The Ivy grill was the perfect place to celebrate my nephews belated 10th birthday! The food was delicious and served quickly. You definitely needed a booking as the restaurant seemed fully booked all day. The staff were quick to serve and attentive. Well worth a visit!!

'Been here twice a day, for breakfast @ 10am and dinner @ 10pm after theatre: Kitchen is up to 10.30pm. 5 stars for meals, (most) waiters and ancient ambient. What I sadly miss are fine beers from the tab and warmed plates! my 2nd pancake at the bottom was COLD, when I reached it 😡 But that's my general problem visiting London City every winter - sorry, I'm continental 🤗: ' seems Londoners don't like their meals too warm in EVERY restaurant also full English breakfast arrives usually lukewarm. In mid Europe it was sent back to kitchen

We had a reservation here. The atmosphere was great - the music sounded great - like something out of an old film. The decor was nice too. The waiters where great - however unfortunately they had given us the wrong starter (which was easily corrected) and then attempted to give us drinks meant for the next table. This was still on the bill at the end. The food was really nice. I had duck liver parfait for starters and lobster and asparagus gratin as a main. Both excellent choices. I finished with the cappuccino cake and my girlfriend the creme brûlée. Would have been four stars if the above did not happen.

Yet again the Ivy delivers! One of the smaller restaurants of it's kind but just as superb as all the others. Great food and drinks menu. We asked to be seated outside and this was granted. Outdoor heaters and blankets are provided if you feel chilly. The staff were friendly and attentive. I went down the fish route for starter and main courses, and they were both absolutely delicious. The cocktails were amazing and a special selection for the Chelsea flower show were making an appearance. Very busy restaurant but this doesn't affect the food or the service.

When we passed this location, I was promptly educated on how popular/famous the Ivy was. The hype behind my impromptu lesson was not in vain. The food was amazing. The service, exquisite. The atmosphere, lovely. Def worth checking out.

This was a gift for me, champagne lunch for 2, we expected a glass of champagne each but got a bottle, they just kept topping up the glasses. Food was good but nothing exceptional. Staff were very helpful. Definately good value for the money. Overall an enjoyable experience

The dining experience was marked by mixed food quality, where portions varied based on the order, with notably small olive portions and excessively oily fried food. Service issues included a waiter's unfamiliarity with the festive lunch menu, later rectified with complimentary drinks for other guests. However, another manager rushed the party to leave before completing the order. Additional problems included missing utensils, a delayed bread service requiring follow-ups, and an unfulfilled ketchup request.

The customer service here was amazing. My friend asked a the beginning of the meal (in private, without my knowledge) if they could bring round four glasses of champagne to celebrate my engagement. They brought these round, but announced instead that these were on the house. This was so sweet! When it came to desert, I decided against having one, but my friends all got one. When the deserts came out, the restaurant again brought me round a free desert with 'congratulations' written on it. It was the most delicious chocolate cream profiterole. Such a sweet gesture! I will definitely return ☺️

An amazing meal with outstanding service! To our surprise my wife and I managed to get a table at the bar without a reservation and had one of the best meals we have had in a long time, accompanied with the most outstanding service from Francesco and his team at the Ivy in Covent Garden. We had the 1917 menu (2 courses main a dessert) whilst watching Neil and the rest of the hard working bar staff making every cocktail under the sun. There was a friendly atmosphere throughout the restaurant but around the bar it was really but buzzing! Thoroughly recommend it! Francesco, thank you for the conversation and your service. We will definitely be back. Hope to see you soon!

I had a lovely lunch and the fish & chips (mushy peas) was on point - Not overly greasy and the fish itself was very fresh. The service was friendly and warm. I was seated facing the bar and the bar had a good variety of cocktails. The atmosphere and the ambience of this place is totally worth going for. Stroll around in Covent garden after the carb load.

Amazing. just AMAZING. As soon as we set foot inside the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. They have a separate vegan/vegetarian menu and everything looks absolutely delicious. Attentive staff, great timely service and delicious food. The duck salad starter was absolutely wonderful! Very reasonable prices. Book a table to ensure you're not disappointed as it gets very busy. Close proximity to alot of theatres! We had 2 courses within an hour and didn't feel rushed.

One of the nicest and professional staff around Covent Garden, the Breakfast is at a decent price not too expensive, we loved the interiors there it gives you that special feeling. The silverware used at breakfast makes you feel like a king after a good night out. Highly Recommended we will be definitely coming back.

My husband and I just had an amazing meal here after a theatre trip. The food was absolutely delicious and I loved the fact that we could choose from the three menus including the Asia so i took full advantage and had the monkfish curry which was incredible. Our experience was made all the better by our outstanding servers Ellie and Alex. Ellie was so friendly and attentive. She's an absolute treasure 👏👏

Visited this place by accident as I didn’t know it was there, we were going to the theatre and it was VERY busy so we were seated at the bar. It was quite a show with the hustle and bustle of the staff and they were amazing. Food Service was slightly slow but like I said they were very busy. Food was delicious. Service charge was 13.5% a little over the average 12.5. But very worth it.

I recently dined at Ivy on Harriett Street for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. As someone in search of authentic English cuisine, I found their offerings to be genuinely satisfying. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations – it was delicious and well-prepared. What stood out to me was the combination of great service and the restaurant’s modern English decor. It created a welcoming and stylish atmosphere. While it may not be the best I’ve experienced in London, it certainly ranks high on my list. Another noteworthy aspect is the value for money. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.

The place is amazing and quite fancy. The staff is really nice. However, I wasn't too sold on the breakfast as poached eggs were hard and the avocado on our breakfast dishes tasted weird. Maybe there are other items on the menu which are better but I didn't enjoy my experience even though I had read good reviews of the place.

We booked for lunch, the staff really looked after us. We weren't rushed even tho it was busy. I loved the atmosphere and the food was yummy. A great choice offered something for everyone. Vegan, vegatarian, gluten free etc. Cost can be reasonable or you can push the boat out. I had the cheese soufflé, light and dreamy. The minute steak was generous and tasty. My husband had the roast chicken which tasted amazing. The decor is theatre, stylish. Loved it, want to go again. Tried Soho one that was fab too!!

Had a lovely late lunch/early dinner at Ivy’s on Friday. We didn’t have booking’s however lovely gentleman by reception manage to find us (4 girls) a table. He had some fish and chips, salmon, asparagus followed by amazing cocktails! 🍹 We absolutely enjoyed service by mister Andrew who’s knowledge of food and hospitality in general is extraordinary. 😍 Thank you for making our night Andrew. Next time we fly in to London we are visiting this place again! 😍

Great cocktails and ambiance! I didn't like the fact that due to covid they have to take your temperature which is fine. However the were using an electronic device (like tablet) where they were taken your photo/picture as well. They could just use a normal one. Anyhow, worth visiting if you go to covent garden.

I went there on my wedding day . We Book the table in advance and told them it's a special occasion .well they didnot do anything special or complimentary for us except a very cheap small biscuit size cake which had no taste by the way .steak we have ordered was like chewing gum and salmon was overcooked and you dont really feel any flavours. Very pricey. They charged us about 200 pound for something we didnot enjoy at all .no taste .I overestimate this place before. They dont have food quality. I will never go back . Now its completely upto u . I just shared what I experienced there .

Would not recommend again. Very disappointed with the booking policy. Placed a booking for a table outdoor, was told they would do their best to accommodate the table outside. Called the same day to double check that the table allocated was under the external cover since it was raining and was ensured it was. When we arrived the table was not under the covered part. This is just very bad customer service. I understand the no booking outside policy under normal circumstances, but in a time when we are not willing and allowed to seat inside and I made it clear that if the table was not outdoor we would not be able to stay there, I would expect a much better service from one of The Ivy.... I have provided all my details in your website so that you are able to locate my reservation on sunday 25/10/2020 at 12:00 for 3 people.

All of the Ivy brand restaurants are excellent. Our usual one in the city was closed during covid so we visited this one as we had a day up in town. I advise booking early as it was very busy and we could only get 3 pm. That said, food and service up to the usual high standard. Had our temperature taken before they allowed us entry and we felt very covid-safe. Not the cheapest place to eat but well worth a visit if you don't mind splashing out. You certainly get what you pay for.

The best fish and chips I had during 7 years living in the UK! Everything was great - very welcoming staff, food, drink and coffee. Portion of fish and chips is big, very tasty and it's very filling!! If you want to enjoy seating on the terrace I would highly recommend booking as the tables there go fast. Though it is very nice inside too. Definitely would love to come back and bring my husband and my parents!

Not a fan of the Ivy in general, they are terrible value for money. Very average food at a massive premium, but I had lunch here and it was lovely (not amazing, but lovely). Great service and food was much better than I'd had at other restaurants in the chain. If you're after a nice meal in a lovely spot in Central London, I'd recommend this place.

Popped in on a Saturday , told we only had an hour, sat us down stairs even though loads of space in the main restaurant? Downstairs is poor , felt dirty, no table cloths, service was so so poor no drinks until we had our starter we had to keep asking. Food was ok BUT VERY expensive considering how poor the service was and how drab the downstairs was presented!!!!! Staff on entry seemed moody and above their station seemed like we was not welcome and waiter seemed clumsy and away with the fairies!

This is the first of the Ivy restaurant collections me and my missus visited and I must say I'm impressed. Thermal checks were carried out upon arrival, there is a lot of social distancing maintained between the tables. We tried the shepherd's pie which was small in portion but tasty, we also tried the grilled chicken salad which I would say was great except that the chicken was a bit extra charred which ruined the taste a bit, but ya not the end of the world. Wide range of drinks are available too. For desserts we had the creme brulee and I'm in love with it. The staff here is very friendly and happy to serve. Will definitely be visiting an Ivy restaurant soon.

A wonderful institution at Covent Garden (even if its only been open a few years !) Go, on a sunny day, on a rainy day....just go ! You won't be disappointed. I've been going to a restaurant on this spot for more than 50 years (not the same one though !) ....and its a great place at lunchtime...or dinner. Make a not, and don't miss when you're in London.

Extremely disappointed with Ivy Market Grill! A very busy and overcrowded restaurant with adjacent tables almost on top of each other. It’s not the dining experience you’d expect from an IVY named restaurant. Hey Ho, as the name suggests, you’ll feel more like eating in a market place but with a staggering bill of a whopping £50-£55 per head. I sent the following feedback via the Contact Us page on their website on 5th Jan, almost a month gone by and I have not heard back from any personnel from The Ivy Collection…. no apology, not even an explanation! Just an automated email acknowledging receipt of my feedback. Guess my feedback have slipped through the (Market’s) net. When we booked online, the website specified that bookings for 7 or more people are required to select from the Set Menu only, therefore we made a booking for 6ppl instead (one family member had to opt out) with the intention that we’ll be able to choose from the A la Carte menu. When we arrived at Ivy Market Grill on 29th Dec, only the Set menu was laid out on the table, we asked one of the servers to bring us the A la Carte Menu but a little while later and to our surprise, a manager (I believe) came over and told us that bookings for ‘6’ or more people can only choose from the Set menu. This is ‘not’ what we recollect at the time of booking! But not wanting to make a fuss in-front of our guests, we accepted the manager’s request. We returned home and double checked the information on the website and it clearly states that bookings for ‘7’ or more people (not ‘6’ are required to choose from the Set Menu)! We felt totally cheated! Not only were we unable to choose the food we’d like to eat from the A la Carte Menu, we had to pay over £300 which does not include drinks! (£50 per head for a 2 course meal!!) But one family member need not have to opt out! We would have been happier to pay more with our own selection of food than feeling ripped off with a £50-£55 Set Menu! We have visited Ivy Cafe Wimbledon on several occasions and enjoyed the food and atmosphere there. But our visit to Ivy Market Grill has put a damper to our choice of restaurant and left us feeling extremely disheartened, like we have been scammed!
