This place has a nice look. However, we ran into so many issues I was surprised. Checking in took a very long time and afterward we spent hours on the phone trying to sort out being double charged and not getting breakfast included even though our booking said it was included. The breakfast service was extremely slow, so plan accordingly. The eggs were some of the worst I have had. I even ordered an omelette and the only thing I could taste was vegetable oil (couldn't taste egg, ham, or cheese) When they serviced the room each day, they would not replace towels, so we ended up with none can had to call the front desk to get towels. We ordered room service one time. I got the Banana Creme Brulee. When it came, I noticed the custard was only 1mm (1/32") thick. The burnt (unfortunately it was well beyond carmelized) sugar layer on top was about 2mm thick. So basically all you could taste was burnt sugar as there as virtually no custard. I don't know how any kitchen could serve this as it was awful. Location was OK

I want to love this hotel. Stylish design, comfortable beds, some of the rooms are excellent especially the river view and those facing east on the high floors (amazing airy views). Location great for me personally. However… Service and staff are random at best. Some things work perfectly but others not at all (front desk and room service never answering the phone for example - which even have the phones in the rooms). Bars are expensive (ok for the location) but again the food and drinks are variable quality and service hit and miss. Some of the rooms are on low floors with small windows and views only of the adjacent building. This is a totally different experience to the better rooms and it’s hard to know which you’ll get (unless you’ve booked the river view / suite / etc obviously). In summary it’s great if you catch the staff on a good day and you get a good room.

This is a beautiful hotel on the water with spacious rooms. There are several great restaurants nearby and a great bar in the restaurant. Only issue is that one of the nights I was there, I was abruptly woken up to men fighting outside my bedroom at 2am. It took quite some time for the fight to be broken up.

I had an incredible experience staying at Sea Containers from start to finish. Upon booking a room, I received an email from Stefanie who is the Guest Engagement Coordinator. She asked if there was anything we needed for our stay. I responded to say that I was going to propose to my girlfriend before arriving and asked if they could light some candles in the room or do something special. Stefanie and the team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was absolutely amazing. They had champagne ready for us on arrival, waiting in our room (which was upgraded!), more sent up to us again the next day with hand-written notes! The team went above and beyond to ensure we had an incredibly special weekend. It was hands down the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in but more importantly was the best hotel experience that we've ever had. Stefanie checked in with us over the weekend to ensure that everything went to plan and to see if we needed anything else. I really was blown away by the effort that Stephanie and the team went to and I cannot wait for us to come back and stay again!

Celebrated new year in this lovely hotel and general satisfied with that. The room is clean, nice and big; the staff are super friendly and helpful, we were even served with champagne while checking in. Good location for traveling central London and enjoy the view during night. However the design of this hotel is really confusing, we accidentally went to the fifth floor and tried to use the stairs and turned out we don’t have any access to use stairs??? And got blocked in the third floor for 15min. Also the WiFi is terrible I cant use my phone 70% of the time which is really annoying.

Every aspect of this hotel is faultless. Despite the modern grandeur of the place, the staff are sooo friendly and genuine…not like some of the stuffy austere attitudes that you get in other premium London hotels. The rooms are all impeccable and because of the build quality of the hotel they are silent…couldn’t hear another thing once in the room. Can’t recommend highly enough

I loved our stay at the sea container. Such a unique experience especially in a city like London. The rooms were nice and spacious and very modern. The service was impeccable. The hotel is located right next to the tube so you can easily commute through the city. The wharf right next to the hotel was my favourite part!

The hotel is very beautiful, centrally located and very close to 2 metro stations. In front of the hotel, there’s also a bike-sharing station which is very convenient. Generally, the hotel is very large, beautiful, and very clean. The rooms are spacious, the bed is extremely comfortable, as is the armchair, and the view of the Thames is fantastic. The bathroom is also very spacious and comfortable, and the rooms are cleaned very well. The hotel staff is incredibly kind, from the reception to the cleaning staff, and even the breakfast staff is super kind. 5 stars just for them!

Great location for a hotel that is so stylish and smells amazing. So much so you can actually buy the fragrance (which I did). The room was large and comfortable and all the staff went above and beyond to help you have an enjoyable stay.

A touch of class & as good as you could wish for! A contemporary hotel with character and a great location to experience everything London has to offer. Walking distance to most attractions & a short hop on the Underground if you need venture further. The team are friendly & attentive, willing to ensure your experience is a great one! We can't wait to visit again!

Very cool design and super clean, comfy rooms but avoid the restaurant. I have eaten there twice in the last month and both times the service was slow (and rude on the first occasion!) - we were constantly having to flag down waiting staff to chase the things we’d ordered. The food is overpriced, it tasted pretty average and actually quite greasy on both occasions (if you fancy spending £18 on a burger do it at Hawksmoor). I used to love celebrating special occasions at Sea Containers but I’m sorry to say that I wouldn’t any more.

Have always wanted to stay here but wouldn’t recommend. We’ve stayed in much better hotels in London for lower pricing. We had booked a superior queen room and were given an accessible room with a small and uncomfortable bed (looked more like a double). The room was less than ideal (we’re both tall and everything was obviously low) but the only alternative we were given was an £800+ loft room at 3x the price we paid, no thank you. Good shower, good AC/heating, lots of cupboard space, awful mattress and pillows. Not all the reception staff were particularly friendly or helpful either.

We stayed for 2 nights in a family room, with 2 double beds. We honestly couldn’t be more impressed with the rooms, they were comfy and spacious. The staff were welcoming and attentive and gave the littles a ginger bread man on the way in. The breakfast in the morning was great and was buffet style. The only downside and this was minor as the hotel is so great is that it’s a good 10-15minute walk to the tube with 2 young kids that can be hard work. But all in all this hotel was great and we really enjoyed our stay!

We spent two nights at this fantastic hotel. We were booked into a deluxe river view suite and soon after entering the room there was a problem with the rooms electricity. A technician arrived shortly but it soon appeared it was not going to be a quick fix. Joe who appeared to be managing front of house operations dealt with things in a way we would never have expected. Initially I was offered a couple of glasses of Prosecco and after explaining that was so appreciated as it was our wedding anniversary he went a step further and delivered a bottle of complimentary Champagne to our room for the inconvenience. It took the technician half an hour to fix the electrical problem but by this point Joe had decided to upgrade us to a suite for all the trouble. This transformed our stay into a truly memorable one and we will now choose Sea Containers as our base whenever visiting London! During our stay we experienced similar service in the restaurant and bars. The breakfast was very good and the drinks and views from the top floor bar were sublime. Overall we can’t recommend the hotel enough, a great location, great food and service above and beyond what we expected. 10/10 Thank you!

Location being the key factor for us - Sea containers has an amazing ambiance, lovely and helpful staff and very hip interior design. Our view was looking onto the river, Within walking distance from the London Eye, South Bank, Big Ben and Tate Modern. There are lots of lovely restaurants and cafés in the area. I would highly recommend this hotel for stayers.

Nice: Short walk from the Tate Modern, the ground floor bar is great with amazing views across the river. Modern rooms. Not so nice: breakfast room can be crowded and hectic, reception/service not up to five star rating one might expect. Don’t count on great views from all the rooms - some views are amazing while others are lousy.

We spent 2 nights here and absolutely loved it. Every staff member we met was polite, the view we had was amazing and the room overall was great. Check in and out were easy. We used our phones to unlock our room. We booked a city view room and it had a view of both the Thames and city. The hotel bar was great but very pricey. £8 for an unopened can of beer for you to pour yourself is a bit steep. Housekeeping came everyday but didn't replenish tea & coffee pods. Our coffee machine didn't work too so extra teabags would have been nice. There is a brilliant coffee shop across the road which worked well for us. The hotel overall was brilliant and I'm sure we'll stay again in the future. Highly recommended.

We were so lucky to get a room upgrade for free when checking in, and we got a huge room with a great view over the river Thames and London city. The hotel is modern and comfortable, and the staff is helpful and service oriented. The hotel is in a sentral quiet area, but not the closest to train and subway stations. All in all, it was a great hotel experience for us!

Always fabulous service from the staff at the restaurant and the 12th Knot bar. Great selection of cocktails including off menu orders accommodated too 👌🏽 highly recommend any sea food dish, but especially the mini tacos on the Small Plates menu!

I don't typically write reviews but we enjoyed this hotel so much I had to. Our room had a beautiful view of the Thames and the room was very comfortable and had everything we needed (we had 3 girls in one deluxe room). There is a rooftop bar with beautiful views of the city skyline. It is located within walking distance to many restaurants/scenic views and is right on the river walk. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning (especially the made to order lattes). Our favorite part of the stay was the staff who were so sweet and accommodating to our every need and made us feel so special. My only con is that the parking was ~$50 a night and was off site, we felt it should have been complimentary at best or half that price especially since there was no valet to drop off or pick up. Even still, I 100% recommend this hotel!

Beautiful Hotel and all the staff are exceptional. Had dinner last night at the restaurant and the food and drinks was excellent. I have one more night and will be visiting the cocktail bar and can not wait.

Absolutely wonderful. The rooms are spotlessly clean, we had a river view, the Thames in Winter isn't the prettiest! The hotel amenities are great, from the restaurants to the cinema and the spa. Great location, on the South Bank. Easy for parking with a secure car park about a 5 minute walk away on Cornwall Road. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful

Great place to stay in London. Huge hotel with direct access to a popular pedestrian thoroughfare. 15-20 mins walk to Borough Market, Globe Theatre, Tate Modern, and Westminster. Gym was well equipped and spacious. When we had an issue with our bathroom someone fixed it straightaway. For the younger set the bar was lively, had a live DJ on the weekend.

  • 5/5 Marisa C. 6 months ago on Google
Great bar and room service but reception staff need to be a bit more friendly. We spent long checking in due to the Awkward attitude of the receptionist. We spent a lot of money for the weekend and expected to be treated a bit more respectfully. Apart from that, all very good.

Loved it! Our room was really nice and we had a great time at the bars on site, with the drinks at Lyanes and especially highlight. All of the staff were super friendly and welcoming. I love the location so much too. Would love to stay here again

We stayed here for 6 nights in September first week. Everything is good... but the staff were the most amazing part! Especially like to call out ALAN who went out of his way to make us feel special and our stay a memorable one! Keep up the good work...! This is very rare!

For the money this place costs per night, I'd say it is a really poor return on investment, and you can find something just as good for less or as costly but worth it! The location may look great on the map, but be aware, it isn't all that connected and you need to walk a fair bit to get a tube or find a taxi (unless lucky and one appears at the hotel). The rooms are an okay size, but again for the price, I'd be expecting more. Not saying this is a bad hotel, just for the price, I think you could do better.

I've stayed here for a week and had an amazing time! My room was super spacious with river view, the most comfy bed and a super nice bathroom. Staff was always so welcoming and helpful whenever I had a question and room service was also great - can recommend the truffle pasta! Another positive is that it's super central and you can get everywhere very quickly. I was in London for a work trip and needed to get to both east and west London so it was very convenient. Can only recommend the hotel and can't wait to come back soon!

Lovely hotel with comfy beds modern stylish with attention to detail in the design. The only snag was the length of hold times to get through to reception and room service .I waited 15mins on hold. However the food when it arrived was fabulous light and tasty.

A mixed bag..... The hotel itself is in a lovely location and the rooms are nice. We had a slight problem with our room (a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom) but this was very quickly rectified. Staff were v apologetic and insisted on moving us to another room. The new room was fine, spacious and very clean, so a thumbs up on that front. The restaurant however really lets the hotel down. Service is slow, half hearted not what it should be for the prices. (They forgot one of our meals entirely). This is the second time we've been to this restaurant and been underwhelmed by the service, so I would definitely never go back. I would recommend the hotel, but would not advise going to the restaurant. There are much better places close by that will offer better service at better prices.

Great hotel. Good views, the website is a little misleading on the view you get. But the hotel was very good at helping to resolve. Hoped there would be more food options available late at night. Other than that great stay.

We stayed at this hotel last weekend with a couple of friends. The location of the hotel is quite unique and the view from our rooms was really special. The rooms are newly furnished, stylish and clean, but a bit small. The service is very good and their bar at the 12th floor has a remarkable view on the City. This hotel is expensive, but its location and view probably make up for it.

I had the most wonderful afternoon for a lunch with my Mum in March at the main restaurant on the ground floor. Never been before, this was a belated Christmas present (thanks, Omicron!) and it was superb. The atmosphere is really fun at the restaurant and the food is absolutely delicious, best mac and cheese that I've ever had. Thanks to all the chefs and the waiting staff who made our day out so special. Mariella our waitress was fantastic. Cannot wait to return.

Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We enjoyed every moment we spent in the hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Wanted to stay here for a while but because of lockdown we couldn't. Perfect location, lovely room and a good size for London. The bed was so comfy and slept really well. Lovely atmosphere in the bar and great service. Ordered room service for breakfast and it was great. Will definitely be staying here again. The view from our room of the river was fantastic.

Had dinner in the restaurant on a Sunday evening when it was super quiet. The staff were professional and helpful throughout. The bar beforehand was a bit of a let down - the drinks were lovely but the service was so slow that we still hadn't been served by the time we were due to head into the restaurant - almost 30 minutes later. They did however arrange to bring our drinks through. The restaurant itself has run out of steak, which was disappointing, but one of the team suggested an alternative which worked nicely. The food was delicious and well portioned.

A wonderful discovery. The location is great, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the attentive staff. Special mention to Antony, a spa practitioner who was really great. Thanks to Fatou (I'm not sure how to spell it) at reception who was very friendly, I loved following her advice and chatting with her. I was a little disappointed with access to the rooftop and bar. I was with my 15-year-old brother, who was visiting London for the first time. I also chose this hotel for the magnificent view it offered. As my younger brother was underage, I couldn't show him the view as we were refused access. So we couldn't have a coffee during the day, or even in the evening, even though he was accompanied by an adult. We were staying at the hotel and I'm disappointed that we couldn't even see the view from the rooftop. Still, I was delighted with our stay at the hotel.
