If you are looking for a quick bite for lunch in the busy city, then there are plenty of options around. This one has a healthy choice of fresh food and premade sandwiches. The lines were not too bad around 1pm, however by then the choices were limited and no pies left. Hence I had the soup and it was a bit bland, so maybe try something else and see if it suits your pallet.

Went in for a sandwich as I was early for a hospital appointment. I ended up staying an hour, and was pleased not to be hassled by staff. Recommended.

I have eaten here on the past two days as it is close to work and has enough decent seating to eat in. I have now tried two-thirds of the the hot Christmas "bowls" (Turkey Hot Pot - poor, gloopy and starchy - and Pigs in Blankets Hot Pot - much better, nice meat, good gravy, pleasant mash). However, on both occasions I had to wait for several minutes between paying and receiving my food. The is no system between the 'counter-staff' and 'cooks' for food to be delivered in the order it is ordered by customers. Really bad, as other items are going cold. However, the point of my post is this. The mince pies are terrible. Look at it - if my godson produced that in playgroup I’d be embarrassed. If you are going to bake unevenly (and slap the star off to one side) at least try to even things up with the icing sugar. But these are aesthetic quibbles. The case is a mixed bag. The good side is very nice, a little buttery, a little crumbly, strong enough to stand up to the first bite without collapsing. Even the underdone side is pleasant enough. Unfortunately, the fill is insufficient to balance the thickness and the mouthful ends up being dry. The star is deceptively thick, and it is the amount of mince that loses out. Which is a real shame: the fill is nicely spiced, moist and a little tart. There’s a lot of promise here, but my experience was disappointment. Which is not want you want at Christmas. It's £1.69, £1 if you buy a coffee. But why would you?

Staff had extremely poor knowledge Had butternut squash and chick pea wrap that was satle and was off! Did complain but had no response.

Nice seating and always great soup.
