This place was on my list to visit for a long time. It takes more then 2 hours drive from London, depending on the traffic. But it was worth the trip definitely. You can park off the road, there are easy steps to get there. There are public toilets to use. There is a food and beverage stand on the beach and they had cold drinks, coffee, ice cream and nice food πŸ˜‹. The beach is nice, clean with fine sand, you can stay in the sun or take the shade. Lots of space to put your towel. The scenery is just amazing and it's worth visiting. Keep an eye on the tide. You can follow on line. When tide is low you can walk along the lines.

It's a true mesmerizing experience if you are a sea lover! Make sure to go at low tide time so you can walk across the cliffs and it's so powerful you can feel the energy of the water and it's breathtaking! Have a picnic and dip your feet in the water! Walk barefoot ! It's just amazing ! There is a lifeguard kiosk but today was closed I guess it opens in the summer season only Not many facilities around but yes there are public toilets and a restaurant/pub within hotel facilities on the top of the bay. Don't miss the view from the top footpath too! And I highly suggest to walk from Botany bay back to Viking Bay in Broadstairs by the Viking coastal path. You can also cycle it. Just two big high hills you can always push it if it's not en e-bike ! I did go from the station in the morning 11am to the bay by bus walk 15 Min to the bay and then walked back (2pm - 3pm) as explained above and it was just perfect! The tide came up just 20 Min after I arrive @12 and I was able to walk through the cliffs closer to the water just on time! There is a great pub I raccomend to stop by at Kingsgate castle beach (with benches outside and the most beautiful view)

Excellent day out at Botany bay. Hard to imagine that you are only 1.5 hours from London let alone somewhere in the UK. Very nice sandy beach with a very nice expanse of White Cliff probably Limestone which has eroded to create a Stack. This offers excellent photo opportunities. The whole bay is small but picturesque. There are toilet facilities and parking nearby making it a great place to visit and spend the day.

The surroundings might look stunning but the beach itself is really really disappointing! The beach is way over crowded and the entry to the water is really difficult and dangerous, lots of sharp rocks, moss and dirt. Be careful if you are going with small kids and stay away from the public toilet if you can!

The beach is nice and quiet, felt like a romantic beach for couples. There are life guards which makes it more enjoyable, knowing they are there incase of emergency specially when your there with children. My children enjoyed collecting stones and building a dam ( pic below). There are lots of snails and their shells to be found that my younger ones enjoyed. The sand is nice and soft. Only problem is there are no shower facility so children went home with lots of sand.

It's beautiful beach and the main attraction is the Chalk like Cliffs, it's beautiful to watch. The interesting this it's not too crowded like Bournemouth beach. Near to the Botany bay you don't have any restaurant so if you are visiting then it's better carry some food. Parking is the other challenge they have very small parking place. Some how we managed to park the cark in Road. If you want to relax for a day without any disturbance then it's a best beach β›±οΈπŸ–οΈ.

Botany Bay is a little gem of a beach! It definitely comes up in my top 10 UK beaches! It's nice, clean, peaceful and secluded from the normal hustle and bustle of Margate or Ramsgate. Sand is lovely and soft and cliff views are just amazing!! There is a lovely walk along the top of the cliffs which is great if you are cycling! Had a cracking afternoon with the kids who loved it also!

Excellent place to visit with family. Sand beach, nice public walkways, excellent landscape. Not really crowded. You can hardly find such a nice sand beach in Kent areas, absolutely better than the pebble beaches you find in other famous beaches in Kent.

The beach is beautiful in my opinion, but sadly I didn’t like the water at all. It’s full of seaweed. It’s very rocky. It feels like you were walking on rock with a thin layer of sand on it. It was unstable slippery and very very hard going into the water. And it doesn’t have any debt whatsoever also there are no waves. It wasn’t the experience I was looking for. Maybe if I was only interested in sunbathing it would have been a much nicer experience.

Beautiful sandy beach. We stayed at the hotel on top of the cliff and ate at the restaurant. Weekday in late June- great weather, people were swimming with lifeguards nearby and great beach for under 5s.

WOAW, fantastic beach. I went there in mid August. It wasn’t too busy despite the FANTASTIC WEATHER !!! It had a nice little shop selling hot and cold drinks. It also had food items from hot-dogs to lovely refreshing ice creams. Fantastic views.

I love this sandy beach. The parking is first come, first serve (closer to beach), so you have to be early to get a place, and it's free. There is another paid parking with 200 spaces ( never used). The best part is that the beach has a accessible ramp ( bit steep) to get down and also steps on one side. Huge shoreline with a beautiful view of white cliffs and chalk stacks. It is a great place for all age groups.

A friend who is local took us for her favourite walk along the coast. It was lovely to take in the views and sea air. We loved it and look forward to returning.

Gorgeous beach with stunning views of the cliffs. Only down side there is no cafe/restaurant and parking is horrendous. I saw around 4 car accidents where people were trying to park or leave on a narrow residential road. I was there on a heatwave weekend.

Very pretty beach, but be careful - there are some sharp rocks in the water. It was extremely busy when we went, but if you’re willing to walk - just go all the way towards the end of the beach and I’m sure you’ll find yourself some space. I’ve seen plenty of nudist there though.

An amazing experience at Botany Bay! This beach stands out because it's a bit unique. If you love watching the high tide along with a stunning view, this is the place for you. Unlike other beaches, they have mobile toilets, which is bit inconvenient. Since it's tucked away at the edge of the shore, be prepared for strong winds. The sandy beach is incredibly beautiful, making it a perfect spot for kids to have fun building sandcastles and swimming. It's a one-of-a-kind beach that deserves 5 stars.

What a beautiful little Sandy bay! Crumbling chalk cliffs with lovers marks scattered all round and little hiding holes that I suspect would have been used by pirates. Has a life guard hut so that feels safe. Just don’t get trapped by the tide coming in.

This is a beautiful sandy beach in East England, further down from Kent. As it is a sandy beach it's a great beach for kids and families to hang out, play and do fun beach things. The beach is also bordered with chalk cliffs which are very beautiful and form a picturesque scene. All in all, a great beach for the summer!

It's a Nice beach with white cliffs which make this view more beautiful. It's a good place for just chilling and a walk along the coast. I would not recommend it for swimming as the water is slightly muddy and there are lots of stones below the shallow waters.

Lovely sandy beach with life guard. Small stall for food and drinks (cash only) there’s a small toilet. There’s no shower to wash off the sand. Parking can be hard to find if you get there late.

Botany Bay is a picturesque beach located in Broadstairs, Kent, England, and it's definitely worth a visit. The beach is known for its stunning natural beauty, crystal clear waters, and rock formations, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers and beachgoers. Aside from the beautiful scenery, there are plenty of activities to do in and around Botany Bay, including swimming, sunbathing, and exploring the rock pools at low tide. Additionally, the beach is surrounded by white chalk cliffs, providing a beautiful backdrop for photos and scenic walks. Overall, if you enjoy beaches, nature, and outdoor activities, Botany Bay would be an excellent destination to explore on your trip to Broadstairs.

Great place to spend a family day. There is a little cafe hut to get tea, coffee, drinks, ice cream and a few snacks. There is a lot to do from cliff climbing, there is a little section the kids like going to and climbing. Swimming, they do have life guards there. The rocks make a great place to go looking for sea life. We have seen jelly fish, crabs, little fish and a lot of star fish. So when the tide is out there is still a lot to do. We finished the day with a bbq, which is allowed after 6pm.

It was an amazing spot in England to see various chalk formations! It was fun to watch to tide coming in and challenging it to get to see what's beyond the chalk stack. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

One of the best beaches in East England. Around 2 hours journey by car, from London. White Chalk cliffs, worth seeing. Sandy beach, good place for family outing, in Summer. If you have a plan to drive, the best time to visit is early mornings as very limited place for car parking.

Such a dreamy place. Stunning cliffs, beautiful beaches, dreamy walking path in a field of flowers, surrounded by peace and quiet. The photos look like we were in Italy. Highly recommend.

Lovely scenic walks along the coast. Go at low tide for the best experience because then you can see all the cliffs and nooks and crannies along the way. Parking area. Wheelchair users can take the high route and look down on the beach. There is a hotel at the top which serves food and drink. Can be cold out of season so wrap up warmer than you think you'd need to!

Decided on a 2 hour plus drive from London to Margate. I walked to Broadstairs from Margate, took a good hour but you get to see the coastline in its beauty with some other great landmarks. Couple pubs on route as well to quench your thirst! Had some amazing fish and chips in Aqua 43, best batter I have had covering the lovely fluffy cod! Then I hiked back after having ice cream. All in all worth the trip, if walking is not your thing I am sure between Margate and Broadstairs you will find plenty to occupy yourselves.

Amazing place. 1st time I've see a chalk coastline on the coast. The beach is lovely and sandy. Great place to visit.

That’s such a beautiful beach, it was clean and not that crowded for a sunny Saturday. There aren’t many places to buy food around and also no phone signal down the beach.

  • 4/5 Daniela V. 7 months ago on Google
It's a lovely sandy beach ⛱️ you have to bring your things from home like a tent, blanket, umbrella, beach toys...there is one shop only on the beach which sales food and coffee as well as some beach stuff as umbrellas and toys. However this shop is cash only! Bring some cash along. Toilets are available there. There is a restaurant also available next to the parking area. Beautiful place, but not much to see around.

Lovely hotel. Situated away from the busy town, right on the coast. We had a wonderful stay made all the better by the excellent service offered by Alison on reception. We will be back!

Beautiful place. Great for walking. Beware of the sand flies though as the beech if festooned with the carcasses of dead crabs.

  • 4/5 Kevin H. 6 months ago on Google
Lovely beach, good access. Off season and late afternoon, so only a few folks around - mostly dog walkers. High tide so could get round safely. Can see gets busy in summer & peak times, and imagine parking isn’t easy then.

  • 5/5 Harry I. 7 months ago on Google

I went there with my family. It took us 1 hour and 30 minutes to get there by car. I loved the view. It was nice and peaceful. The sand felt great as it seeped through my feet. No halal food option nearby so make sure to have food with you when visiting

  • 5/5 Oscar P. 2 years ago on Google
Must visit at low tide on a clear summer's day. Gorgeous. Catch the 8A bus from Margate Town centre. The bus drops you off in a residential area and just a 3 minutes walk from this gorgeous spot.

  • 4/5 I H. 9 months ago on Google
Great family beach. Bring cash if you fancy of ice cream or drink, as the shop in there don’t accept card payments. Watch out for seagulls too as they might steal your food!!!

Nice sandy beach with chalky cliff. Sand is deeper than it needs to be though in my opinion which makes it hard to walk on the beach. Very windy but enjoyable. Parking is a nightmare.

Incredible view point, and a very good walk alongside the coast! Recommended when you visit Margate!

  • 5/5 Michelle-Allyson O. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful! Worth finding out the timing of the tides, there's more of the sandy beach to explore when the tide is out. The waters look clear, a few swimmers braved it in cold Nov, not for me though πŸ˜„

  • 4/5 V D. 2 years ago on Google
The cliffs were a nice sight. Had a long nice walk through the beach.

  • 4/5 G 1 year ago on Google
Check tide times before visiting so rut you can enjoy going around the cliffs. Nice sandy beach. Get down in stairs or ramp which are a bit further. Basic toilet facility. A kiosk at the lower level is handy. Not much place to buy food/drinks other than these. Parking is challenging so study the area to find a suitable one beforehand.

  • 5/5 Joydeep P. 2 years ago on Google
True hidden gem. Less than an hour walk or 20 minutes by bus from Margate. The place is amazing- sandy beach, the waves are bigger and better than Margate, White cliffs in the background. With a little bit of sun, this place looks surreal. A must visit if you are nearby.
