We stayed at this hotel for three nights. When we arrived in the morning, the staff was very nice and let us check in within an hour without any extra cost. The best thing about this hotel is that it's in a great location - only two minutes from the bus stop and eight minutes from the tube station. It was my birthday, and they made it special by surprising me with a greeting card and flowers. The rooms are nice, but not too big. Breakfast is included, but you'll have the same options every day (which is still a good way to start your day). Overall, it's a good hotel if you're on vacation in London.

Hotel is in a good location and the facilities are decent but the breakfast at the weekends is chaos. The space is too small and the staff overwhelmed. Some easy fixes - expanding the space and removing everything from one corner of the room would be a good start.

My OH and I stayed here last week, for a much needed mini-break. It’s in an excellent location, a few minutes walk to Thames bankside and all the associated attractions, restaurants and transport links. I don’t know exactly what I was expecting, as I had never stayed in a Holiday Inn before, but I think I was probably thinking it would be a simple budget hotel, similar to a travelodge. On arrival, we were greeted warmly and checked in quickly and efficiently. We were happy to be told that the bar was open until 2am and that we could use the microwave, located close to reception, should we wish to (there are several local shops within 2 minutes walk). We then took the lift up to the 6th floor and headed to our room. The room was relatively compact, but what it lacked in size was more than made up for in quality. To say the room was clean would be doing the staff a disservice - truly, it was immaculate! I have never stayed in a cleaner room, in any hotel, anywhere! The room had everything you could possibly have needed and was very thoughtfully fitted, the shower room was roomy, with good quality products available and soft, fluffy towels. I was also struck at how quiet it was, being used to hearing other guests through walls and in corridors, when staying in hotels, I was surprised that there was practically no noise at all - wonderful! We settled in and then headed off out for our evening meal. Upon our return, I cheekily asked if they had an ice bucket available (for a bottle of champagne we had brought with us) and the staff were engaging, accommodating and genuinely friendly. I felt comfortable, welcome and as though nothing was too much trouble. We both slept extremely well and as a result, sadly missed breakfast, so I can’t comment on that, but I had the pleasure of chatting to another guest during our stay, who assured me that it was always very good. He was a regular guest at the hotel and said that he always chooses to stay there when in London, as it’s perfect. I have to say that, even though my experience is limited to just the one visit (so far), I completely agree. I have and will continue to recommend this Holiday Inn Express and would like to thank all of the staff, for making our stay a relaxed and entirely enjoyable experience. I look forward to returning soon.

Pros: - Location is central, you can get anywhere easily. Close to bus and tube stations and there are grocery / convenience stores within 10 mins walk. - Room and facility feels new. Probably a recent build so everything is nice and clean. - Pretty good service, we booked for twin bed and messaged the hotel to remind them about this but it was not communicated to the ground staff. But a change of room was offered to us when it became available. Cons: There’s nothing terrible you just need to manage your expectations with this being an Express branch, it’s very no frills. There’s no fridge in the hotel room or any facilities beyond breakfast service within the hotel (such as gym or spa). Again not bad just don’t come expecting such things. Ultimately good value for money and location, staff are lovely.

We got a room on the ground floor, just situated right next to the street, although it did compromise a bit on privacy. The size of the rooms was unexpectedly generous, and I suspect we were assigned an accessible room. While the spaciousness was appreciated, a regular room on an upper level would have suited our preferences more. The staff were delightful and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. The location, not too shabby either, was in close proximity to the renowned Tate Modern. Good for short stay!

We had a great time. The hotel was very clean and the staff was wonderful. The breakfast was nice, although some more variety in fruit, the addition of preserves (ie strawberry and grape), and a variety of pastry would have made it better. Maybe alternate food every other day (or Monday, Wednesday, Friday). The hotel doesn't have face wash cloths available, although it is listed in the bathroom as convenient item you can request from the front desk. All in all it was a good stay. The rooms are small, I don't advise it for families. It's great for business travelers or short stays of a week.

I must admit that this was THE BEST experience I ever had in a Hotel so far (this being my field of work too). The receptionist was super kind and helpful, she gave us the kind of vibes where you feel welcome, special and excited to be there. The room was perfectly clean. The breakfast area perfectly organized. The hotel is so easy to find, easy to get with the public transport, perfect location, close to everything. I feel very happy I chose you guys! Thank you 🧡

You get what you pay for, rooms were clean on arrival, no complaints but here for three nights, housekeeping made beds but did not replenish tea/coffee facilities or fresh towels. Breakfast was a good choice, hot and cold and for the price was good quality. Has a small size bar which was handy, especially for a goodnight tipple. Ongoing problem with room keys, each day had to go down to reception as the key wouldn’t open to door. (Bit of a pain if your on the 6th floor) all in all, good value for money, especially London, staff were fantastic through out, a few niggles but nothing drastic, I would stay again 🙂

Lovely stay, clean and tidy rooms. Brilliant location. All personnel were amazing! Especially Tony helped us navigate the area and gave us good tips! Will certainly come back on our next trip to the City.

Ideal location just south of the Thames, this hotel gives really good value for money on a visit to the Capital - especially for the London area and it's prices. Lovely and helpful staff, clean rooms, good location. Plenty of places nearby to eat and drink, if you choose not to eat at the hotel.

I love this hotel, if I could give more then 5 stars I would. Clean rooms, super comfortable beds and pillows, delicious breakfast. Friendly staff, a thousand thanks to William at the front desk that help us a lot the day that we arrived and made our stay great. Thank you! This is a really great place to stay. - Montealegre

We stayed there for the London New Year's Eve. It was understandably pricey for the season. However, the rooms accumulated fine dust overnight, even with the windows closed. We had some funny nose in the morning as well as the dust was evident on the phone screen after a whole night of keeping it on the table. The staff were friendly, they even offered us vegan options for breakfast. Nice location walking distance from many central London monuments.

Stayed here for one night and having stayed in a few IHG hotels I can say that the check in experience was great, the ladies on reception were very welcoming and there was a real Christmas vibe to the hotel. Got checked in and went to the room, this is where there were some issues. The keys cards issued did not work so had to go back to reception to get them replaced. Again, the ladies were really helpful with this. Finally got access to the room and decided to go for a walk later that evening. After the walk, got back to the room and couldn’t get in again. Went to reception and they acknowledged that there were sometimes issues with the locks on the room doors, the lady on reception came up with me and showed me how to access the room if the issue occurred again, this was done by lifting the door handle up, inserting the key then dropping the handle down, removing the key, re-inserting the key then getting access!! Sounds like a challenge? It was!!! If this is a known issue then just get it fixed. That said, reception were very apologetic. Next morning went for a shower and noticed 2 long black hairs hanging off the ceiling above the shower (see photo), I’m still trying to figure out how someone managed to get their hair attached to a ceiling!! Whilst the room was clean there were a few issues such as loose electrical sockets and panelling that was not securely fixed to the wall. Breakfast was ok but nothing to write home about. Overall not a bad stay but there are a few issues

Great place to stay. Only problem I had was the operation of the room lights. I have never been required to put my room key in the slot by the door to operate the lights which isn’t that big of a problem but it deactivated access my room access and kept the lights on. Service was really good though. The young lady working the counter gave me directions to get to a rail station that saved me about 1 hour. I wish I got her name, but top marks for her. She worked counter morning of Oct 30.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location with public transport connections to the rest of the city. If you like modern art, perfect location to visit the Tate Modern. Walkable distance to Westminster city.

I didn't stay so no comment on that but sharing my experience of their abysmal (lack of) customer service skills. I went in today to ask to please charge my phone as my battery had died and I was on my way to a client meeting after having ordered a cab. The lady hesitated and then asked what I assume was the manager and he flat out refused after confirming I wasn't a guest. Absolutely appalling! Had they been my only lifeline, they'd have left me vulnerable and unreachable. Yes, the onus is on myself, but we've all been there and for a hospitality business to behave so awfully is nothing short of shocking! I manage an office nearby, often booking accommodation for clients, staff and such and aside from genuinely needing to charge my phone, was also scoping it out to see if it was acceptable for recommendation. Needless to say I will never book nor recommend this hotel. They don't hold true to their values and therefore may extend their lack of hospitality to guests which is a risk I'm not willing to take for our business clients. If you want to book clients somewhere where you can be assured they will be treated with respect and shown great hospitality, this definity isn't the place! Plenty of great alternatives nearby. Book with caution- or better still avoid altogether! I've had to use a different name so that my place of work remains confidential. Such a shame as the hotel itself looked very well maintained. I'd say some retraining may be in order.

In all a good hotel. Room was big enough for three. (just) Bed was a bit more narrow than we are used to, but good. Friendly staff. Only real downside we experienced is the lack of choice during breakfast (if you are not into English breakfast it has limited choice). I would recommend the hotel to get some cups to put the marmelade/honey in, instead of having to put it straight onto your plate / bread. And the limited dining space. For the size of the hotel the eating area is too small laid out, not enough tables and the layout of the buffet means everybody gets in each other's way.

Very clean hotel. Nice breakfast. Good location. Family room #124 very clean but very small. 1st floor, no view. Bathroom new. I think the higher floors are better but we’ve been told that they were not ready at the time we checked in. Stayed here from October 30 to November 2. IHG platinum member.

Stayed at this location for a week. They offer daily housekeeping, very friendly staff. Check in was pretty quick, they also offered extended 3 hours of checkout which was very helpful. This location is very close of key tourist places and most of them at walking distance. Rooms are decent sizes. Breakfast is included. Will definitely visit again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. There was a noise problem in my room and I got another room in no time. The beds are probably one of the best I ever had in a hotel. Free English breakfast and croissants.

IHG reception personnel are very hospitable and accommodating. Plenty of space in this area here for greeting you, a place to relax to catch your breath and to have breakfast, which comes with room let. Close to Tate, the Themes about a block and a half away, Blackfriars bridge and local businesses, and residential, etc.. An overall good local area. Also a couple groceries, local coffee shop, a drug store, the White Hart 'pub' around corner, anther restaurant/distillery almost next door in Hilton, a couple sandwich shops across street and a lot more. Tube station, local taxis and bus route in and around area. All of this within a couple minute walk at most. Would definitely stay again. Very economical for a tourist.

Recently stayed. Despite check in being at 2pm our room wasn't ready when we finally arrived at 2:40 after a morning/afternoon of travelling. After a small wait we were given our room. It was fine for a 1 night stay but it was a very small room. Bathroom surprisingly big for the size of the room. All 3 mugs were dirty and I had to wash them up. The room was also fairly dusty. Like I said, was fine for 1 night. The breakfast was it's saving grace. Small choice of hot food and a nice selection of cold. Plentiful drinks to help yourself to. The bread for toast was really good. Not just standard white or brown. Coffee was good too. All staff were friendly and chatty. One chap, I'm guessing the manager ( I didn't catch his name) was really lovely and always made the effort to chat with our 6yr old girl about what we were up to in London. He eve gave her a chocolate bar which made her day. The location is fairly good. The street wasn't overly noisy at night and its a short walk to the tube station. Nice 25 min walk into Theatreland over the bridge. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights a couple weeks ago and we were greeted by very friendly staff. Our room was small (to be expected) but was really great and nicely renovated. The free breakfast was amazing as well. We even came down later in the afternoon and the concierge even made us a cappuccino which he didn’t have to do. My only criticism is that there is no fridge in the suite which would be nice to have.

Great location, extremely helpful staff, they helped us with a better room than what we booked originally at no cost. Breakfast is really nice, scrambled egg, beans and sausages with selection of hot/cold beverages, juices and pastries. Pretty much combination of cold and hot breakfast is available as complimentary service every morning. AC in the rooms is also nice since not all the hotels in UK provide it. For sure recommend and will come back again.

My Boyfriend and I stayed here over the past few days for his birthday and from the very start it was an amazing experience! The staff are all friendly, one lady in particular I can’t recall her name but i believe it began with a T with brown hair and glasses? , she was there for before and during our check in and when we had any questions she was on hand, she was lovely!! We we able to leave our luggage in storage before check in and when it came to check in time it was so easy and efficient. Our room was lovely, clean and well kept. The bathroom too. The complimentary breakfast was a great added extra and was extremely appreciated. Check out again was easy and we were able to leave our luggage in storage while we finished our trip. Thank you again to all staff, we will definitely be returning x

The staff are so friendly, helpful and kind. Especially as a family of 5, catering for all our needs. And will definitely be coming back to Holiday Inn Express. As someone who's stayed first time, I'd definitely recommend coming again.

The location of the hotel is perfect! The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the rooms, despite being small, are very nice (we had a room after reconstruction). However, the bed was way too small and we also missed some vegetables and variety for breakfast. Also not a fan of having a breakfast in the lobby but I understand there is no other option with the hotel setting, but maybe some fit-out could help?

The rooms were clean. The service was great, really nice ppl and helped you immediately. The location was close to everything, so it was easy to go on foot and enjoy the view of London (highlights but also typical London alleys). Breakfast was good, it could have been more different things. But it was fresh food every morning. Overall a very good stay!

Clean room, great for 1 or 2 people. Quiet location so no disturbing outside noise despite being on the first floor. The continental breakfast was okay and staff kept topping it up. The ladies at the front desk were incredible very helpful and friendly. The highlight of my stay.
