A cool venue with great music and the musicians make a great atmosphere. Guests can request music to be played by submitting their choice to the musicians. Brilliant. Very talented bunch. The venue is deceivingly large with couple of drinks bars and private area. Dining there will be noisy so don’t expect an nice convo over the music and singing. The toilets while needing maintenance upgrade is rather clean for such a busy venue. Drink prices are what’s expected from central London. The draw here is the music and the musicians.

When you enter the toilet there's a guy greeting you .. then he squeezes out the soap in your hand, provides a paper towel .. and finally asks for money. I would be very glad to never experience anything like this again. There's rubbish on the floor by the way in the stall .. but the guy is there to make money giving me stuff that are not just available by default, fancy 😕 Music is poor, singing is flat, piano is mainly in the title. May be if you want to feel like you're back on the school prom again .. but do you really? *Free cocktail from the website promotion works and is a good one! But do activate it only in front of the bartender.

Cool if you’re white and 35+. The security lady was also screaming at us to hurry up in the bathroom stall??? Having paid a lot for the dinner I’m not too happy that I can’t use the bathroom in peace EDIT: As per response from owner, I did not use the bathroom with anyone else. Nor did anyone in my group. The staff never spoke to us about the bathrooms. Also I didn't drink at all so I was very composed all night. Kind of a wild take tbh.

We had a wonderful evening - 2 course set menu meal and drinks for two. The food was really lovely. We also had 2 cocktails on the '2 for 1' offer - really proper, with all the alcohol - nothing left out! Great! We were looked after really well all evening by our waiter, Charbel - who took care of all our needs and made us feel relaxed. Really professional - if we went to the Piano Works again, we would want him to be our waiter again - unless (as should be) that he is running his own famous night club with very long queues to get in! We enjoyed the whole concept of requesting songs for the pianists to play. Loved the décor and the relaxed atmosphere. The two lady pianists/vocalists were excellent musicians, as were the band members who came on to join them later.

Wow. Fantastic idea really well executed. Great staff, superb prices especially during happy hour. I didn’t eat , but the food i saw being served looked excellent. All staff very friendly, looked happy, and some really good singers. Its like a live juke box. Love it. Highly recommended.

Food - came cold. Then when I told them the steak came cold, the lady gave me some attitude. I later found they took another steak that was left on the table and reheated then given to me. Attitude of bar staff, waiters/waitress was shocking. I would never recommend this place for a Christmas social or any time of big social gatherings. They’re incapable of providing the adequate service. Bar staff - I asked for 2 drinks, they gave one and when I mentioned he forgot my second drink, he gave some attitude and said he’s serving someone else. Eventually made the second drink.

Went for our Christmas lunch, the food was nice, drinks was ok, the minute we finished our food we was literally rushed out of our seats!!! Unimpressed to be told by the bouncer to get up and move to the bar cause they have another booking, I was told this is what happens all the time, I would never return.

Visited a few years ago and had a terrible experience then, still a terrible experience now. Far too overcrowded. Tables are magicked out of areas that naturally would be walking routes to get to the bar/toilets/dancefloor. As a result, you will spend your evening making yourself as small as possible to let staff with trays of drinks through or other people getting to/from their tables or the bar. The space between the booth we have been allocated tonight and the brick wall that is immediately right in front of us (great view!) is half a metre. The band practically beg for tips and repeatedly mentions that they accept cash or card throughout the night, and to tip them to fast-track your song request. Unless you are prepared to tip a fiver for every song request, do not bother requesting. We arrived at 8.30pm and left 12am - not a single song we requested was played (mainstream music). The band came across incredibly desperate begging for tips. This is not what your concept is all about and quite simply it is tacky. Perhaps the venue should consider paying the band more so that do not beg for tips from customers in exchange for song requests (given that this is what your concept is all about). Please sort it out.

Pretty expensive, but fabulous staff, the barman was chatty and singing along, he seemed so happy to be there. The band that played were fab, so versatile. It made for a really great night having the requests of the audience played so a very random mix of songs.

The manager Victoria was an appalling manager and spent the night with a vendetta against us. We arrived at 5pm and bought several rounds of drinks. We’d sat on a table that was reserved from 9pm and were told this was fine but would have to move at 20:45. Obviously this is fine but at 19:40 we were asked to move as the party had arrived. This is a long time before their booking so we asked if we could stay or if there was an alternative table we could sit at. The manager was very rude and was not listening at all. We had tried to book a table over a month ago but we were told you could not book for less than 15 people so we didn’t. The booking arrived and there was only two people. Victoria’s vendetta then continued when I tried to put mine and my friend’s coats in the cloakroom. She saw me there and came over. She separated my coat and my cardigan and made me pay for two items. She then made me take a picture because I was “so drunk” I was going to lose the card. At this point I was not even sure why she thought this was necessary because I wasn’t drunk. Victoria spent the night trying to follow us around, and when me and my friend went into the toilet together, there were two ladies aggressively banging on the door to the cubicle. When I was finished, to no surprise victoria was there with a female member of security. Victoria accused us of taking drugs, which is abhorrent considering i have never taken anything and had done nothing to suggest this was the case. When I asked why we were being targeted, Victoria then used her position of power to call the security to remove us. She was clearly just power hungry and wanted to use her little ear piece to show off her position. We were not rude or aggressive so there was no need for the security. She then didn’t want to let me wash my hands before leaving the bathroom and tried to stop us getting our coats. Absolutely ridiculous service and it is a shame because the venue and the performers are incredible. Victoria said she was happy to receive a negative review, so here it is! Piano works I think you need to have a look at who you’re picking to be management and have a think about whether this is the treatment of your customers that you want. Perhaps your management need training on how to deal with members of the public.

Food was good, our bottomless drinks were never empty and the waiters were all lovely but the artists onstage would only play your requests if you tipped them which was disappointing. Also very unhappy that when our time finished for our brunch we were booted straight out the venue almost like the end of a night at a club. We asked to stay as there were numerous other free tables (only 4 groups were in the venue) where we could have carried on buying our own drinks but we were told we had to leave and if we wanted to come back 3 hours later we could but no earlier. Strange business decision losing out on us paying for premium drinks but if you only wanna go there before somewhere else then you will enjoy.

Fun, fun, fun. We went on a Friday night, arriving around 10, and probably regret not getting there a bit earlier. The band were fantastic and take requests via Twitter (I think). The music varies straddling the decades of popular music ensures that everyone is having great vibes. Drinks were... Competitive London prices

(Review reposted after being asked by venue to take down) Our table was booked for the bottomless brunch for 2:30PM, part of our party arrived on time and were met with a bad attitude for being "late" when the rest of the party were there just several minutes later. The band was good, however, don't dance and have a good time unless you want staff to give you dirty looks and moan at you for enjoying yourself. They supply you with alcohol and music, but then expect you to sit at your table the whole time. One of our parties backs brushed the stage whilst she was dancing and got told off for doing so. We weren't a rowdy group, however the looks and comments we got throughout the afternoon from staff made us feel like filth on the bottom of their shoe. We were an all female group with our ages ranging from 18 to 55 years old. A particular female security guard made our whole party feel uncomfortable, with dirty looks the whole time we were there. It was clear they wanted us out (again, we can't understand why as although there were many downsides, we were just enjoying ourselves and the music). This is where things start to take a serious turn. Although everybody in our party been drinking, nobody exceeded their limits or were silly with their alcohol intake. But one of our party suddenly became VERY unwell (extremely intoxicated almost instantly) with no recollection since before her last drink in the venue. She was vomiting outside of the venue whilst we were waiting for a taxi. A security guard ushered the same female security guard who made us feel uncomfortable earlier on, and asked her for some water for the unwell member of our party. However, she just looked at her, turned up her nose and shook her head - refusing to get her any water. I wont go into the details of just how unwell our friend got, but it was so very clearly a drink spiking, with a urine test suggesting so. To confirm the above, about 15 minutes after the affects hit our first friend, they then hit a second member of our party. Side affects included extreme vomiting, paranoia and hallucinations - all of which both of them have NEVER experienced in their life (one of them being 50 years old). They were both unwell for a few days later and neither have any recollection of this. We don't believe the spiking was from another guest in the venue. We tried to report this to the venue a couple of times via telephone, but both times we were met with an attitude by a female staff member. Shortly after posting this initial review, we got a call from the manager who asked us to take it down whilst he investigated the matter. We respected this and took the review down to give the venue a chance to rectify the manner. At first, we we happy with how the case was being handled, and over a space of a couple of weeks CCTV was reviewed. However, the email that one of the affected members of our party received was shocking and quite frankly, offensive. They very incorrectly calculated how many drinks each member of the party had had and measured this by units, however the units and even the types of drinks that were mentioned weren't even consumed by our party. The final nail in the coffin to know that they were talking a load of rubbish was when they said that one of our friends had consumed multiple units of alcohol, when she is in fact undergoing chemotherapy and been sober for a couple of years due to this. We responded back to the email to refute the points in the email and request a partial refund, however after 2 attempts of trying to get in touch over the space of nearly 3 weeks, we have been completely ignored. DON'T book this venue if you just want a nice time, since our visit there has been tens of negative reviews (mainly about staff) with one review even showing images of bruises because of the way staff man-handled them. Disgusting.

extremely rude staff. would not recommend. i’m shocked they are allowed to hire people this rude. The staff are looking for a fight so please be careful, the front of house staff made a joke about it being a saturday night and that the staff are allowed to drink, I don’t think this is a good idea as for some of them it made them extremely aggressive. We left after about five minutes due to this. Happy to have a call or discuss further as I don’t like the thought of people being treated with disrespect because of power hungry staff, i can see from the reviews this is a common theme

I went to The Piano Works Farringdon with my cousin to celebrate her birthday. It was my first time there, as I do not live in London. Now, the venue is super good, the food is delicious, the music was unbelievably fun! A very pleasant environment in all senses. Nevertheless, the staff... OMG, the staff. Your staff is OUT OF THIS WORLD! All of them! Every single one of them! The guys organizing the queues outside, the floor staff, the bar staff, the security, the waiters, I can't say enough. I have never ever gone to a place were people were working so happily and with a smile on their face, kindness and helpfulness AT ALL TIMES. So I have to say this because they so much deserve being praised for the amazing work they are doing. You must be very proud of your team! Well done, guys, and thank you!

Fun place to enjoy the musical gimmick. Staff must be overworked underpaid because they are all passive-aggressive! The security at the front blanked us when trying to ask a question. Another member of staff at the queue was being rude, then one of the bar staff made two cocktails when I clearly asked for one and a beer, then aggressively poured the pint. Also, I'm not a fan of having the "no spray no lay" guy; I don't want to be pressured to pay a tip every time I wash my hands.

My go-to for a nice out. I've been a few times and the crowd, the staff, everyone is just there to have a nice relaxed time. The live music is also all the great hits.

We booked a group area on Saturday night for 14 people. We were given 2 chairs and half a table pushed to the wall to stand around, it was an absolute shambles. In the small print it did mention that it was 1 chairs per 5 people, as it was standing area. Granted it was written in advance, but it has no logic sense. Why cram 14 people in an area which can only accommodate 2 people? Why ask for the number of people only to not cater for them? It soon became clear as we had more and more people come in, it was HEAVING. With no where to stand, no where to dance, it was unbearable. Think it’s worth knowing the above in advance as it really impacts the experience, and honestly it put a real dampener on a fun girls night. Other thing to note- the pianist plays requests(which is an obvious one!), but there must have been some miserable people there that night as we had to dance to some real slow ones all night. Not sure if piano works moderate (probably not as it’s all cash funded and we know they like the money) but at times it was very slow P.a have to agree with the sentiment below security we’re rough and the manager was exceptionally rude. There were some lovely waitresses though. Far better places to go in London, jf your looking for a good night.

Pros: - Live music was great. - Cool venue - Good atmosphere - Sharon, a member of staff that helped us was absolutely lovely and was head and shoulders above the rest of the staff we interacted with. Cons: - Had to queue with people who didn't have tickets despite having tickets, so it took us 45 minutes or so to get in - We bought tickets for an 11PM - 3AM slot as per their site, but they shut at 2 and were kicking people out at 1.45. - The security in particular seemed to take pride in picking who they could get away with bullying and having some fun with. - Drinks very expensive.

Great atmosphere! A group of 6 of us went for the 5pm sitting and had the two course meal and bottomless drinks. Food was good and service was amazing! We were looked after by Fil who was very attentive, had a great sense of humour and made us feel like a priority for the 2 hour sitting. Would definitely return!

Had a great night here last night for a colleague’s birthday. Security staff were friendly, music was great (especially early on with the solo piano guy and singing waiters) and Kian was fantastic- such a friendly, talented guy who really made our night with great service as soon as we arrived. Thank you Kian on behalf of Paul and us! Only minor issue was the constant clearing of our booth later during the night- we had to keep an eye on our drinks to make sure they weren’t cleared and the clearing staff weren’t particularly friendly- knocking/ pushing into us when passing. But minor compared to an overall great night. Recommend getting there early for half price drinks and the sliders were great.

Great brunch which was massively let down by your security on the door. We went recently for a friends 43rd birthday - and for the brunch itself we had a fabulous day. Our server Fabio was absolutely brilliant, all the of the staff behind the bar were so friendly and the options for the food and drinks for the brunch were great. We had so much fun - so when we were told that at 4.30pm everyone had to leave but could come back after a quick 30 minute turn around - we were really happy to wait and come back. Up until then our visit had been faultless. Upon trying to get back into the venue however - a young man and a women on the door were so incredibly rude to us. It felt like they didn’t want anyone from the brunch to come back in and were very patronising. Whilst I understand they have a duty of care - we were not rude or obnoxious or falling over drunk. We were, however not going to be spoken to like that so in the end we left and went somewhere else. We were even told by the female security ‘I will be keeping an eye on you guys in there’… I’m not really sure what she’d be hoping to see… some embarrassing mum dancing perhaps or just a group of friends having a great time (up until then)?! It’s such a massive shame as it put a dampener on what would have otherwise been a 5* day!

Went for a work Christmas party. When we arrived (on time for 17) the table was not ready. Felt very rushed to finish the food and drink. Took a very long time to get any drinks. Be very careful about the bill - extra drinks were added to our table but when queried these were taken off!!! Would not recommend! Better spend your money somewhere else where you are not rush off and not trying to be ripped off.

We had our work Christmas party at The Piano Works Farringdon a few days ago. Overall a good experience, and the live music really topped it off. In terms of facilities, the venue is easy enough to find and get to via public transport. Toilets were clean, floors were kept tidy and waiting service was good. Our waiter for the night was Fabio, a very charismatic, efficient nd bilingual gentleman who was always to hand and made sure our food and drinks were delivered on time and correctly. Sadly, the security staff asked (politely) one of our colleagues to leave due to his intoxication level which was presumably high, though we did not agree with that. Our colleague is a very tall man with long limbs and his dance moves, arguably, let him down. However, the worst of it was that he was not allowed to get his coat and belongings whilst being escorted out of the venue, on what was considered the this year's coldest day/night in the country yet. The food was OK, edible, but portions were small and bland. As mentioned above, a good experience for drinks, live music and a boogie, but I'd give it a pass on the food, and perhaps security need staff need to be more forgiving in certain circumstances.

I’d booked a table for ten and the staff were helpful when we arrived. The doormen can be a bit rude though. Unfortunately my wife came later and they refused to let her in until I came upstairs and spoke to them, they had accused her of being a liar though she told them we were pre booked and called her a queue jumper. Also the bar staff mysteriously added a bottle of rum to our tab which we didn’t have. In fairness this was resolved but it felt strange as our tab was pre paid. The energy was lots of drunk office people taking their stress out on each other. A bit to much aggression for a good night out. Kudos to the musicians though they worked really hard to keep the vibe fun.

If you enjoy live music with your dinner/drinks then I'd recommend here. When we went two pianists were taking requests from the crowd and did a great job of covering all sorts of songs. The service and food were also excellent.

Absolutely love this venue, the live music and requesting is the best. The staff are absolutely brilliant and the drinks are amazing. It’s a little bit pricey but totally worth it. The music is so good!

Very less seats with the live performance view . Only big groups get those seats. Also , we specifically asked during booking if the seats are going to be with the view , person on phone told us that it depends but after going there it was very clear that couple seats and specially if you are booking at the last moment(one day before) , will not be the with the view. We were seated in another direction and it felt like being seated in a restaurant with music in background. Music and vibe was good but only if booked way in advance and with a bigger group.

Great night at Pianoworks for my best friends Hen, there seemed to be a lot! It got quite rowdy but bouncers were on hand to quickly gain control of situations which made us feel very safe! Special shout out to Evelina (sorry if the spelling isn’t right), who waited to help us get a photo taken in the booth and who was really lovely to talk to. You’ll be in very safe hands at a night at Pianoworks.

Fun night with friends, good to be able to go out again and enjoy myself and this place is lots of fun. The band is always fantastic, you can request music to them and they'll play it. Drinks are nice too, but a bit expensive which is expected in a place like this

A great bar for celebration! Good drinks and a fantastic band. The queue at the bar is pretty insane, but there is table service as well. If you are requesting a song, be sure to include a cash tip. This will prioritize the request to the top of the list!

Omg, mind blowing experience. The best pub Ive ever been to. Imagine sitting with friends sipping a drink and requesting a song via piece of paper on the table... my dreams came true! Ans it is not some random person playing piano - two pianos and full set of musical instruments including drums. Musicans were changing few times during the night and every single one was great. Food is also great, good size steak was really tasty. For me this is the No.1 place EVER. This place should be one of the "must see" while in London. Top recommendation from me!

Visited here when staying in London. Service was amazing. We were served by Tawana. She made sure our drinks were topped up throughout our bottomless drinks package. Food was lovely and the live music made the evening even more enjoyable and a great atmosphere! Would definitely return!

Incredible food, drinks and music! The only downside was as it got busier you HAD to provide a tip to get your song chosen causing some people to tip £10+ per song. However, the live band were amazing and I would still highly recommend Piano Works for a night out.

Yesterday, I was there at this bar for the first time with my partner. There was something truly unique about this bar: the music, food, drinks, and especially our favourite waiter, Bellerin. In addition, the waiter who served us yesterday was so energetic, friendly, positive, attentive and hard-working. He’s truly the staff that cares about customers. We just love him and thoroughly enjoy every moment in the bar! highly recommended.

This place does everything well! Atmosphere, food, drinks were all 10/10. From the moment we walked in everyone working there was friendly and helpful. We wasn't left waiting for long any time we needed to order or request a song. Even the security were so friendly, dancing along to songs and smiling at everyone which is an absolute rarity in London (or anywhere) these days. Music was fantastic - such a good concept for a night out.

What a fantastic place! We had such a great night here on Saturday. A fantastic atmosphere and the musicians were brilliant and great fun. I'd read the negative review below, so was nervous, but whatever teething problems they had weren't evident. We had an extremely attentive server who made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us regularly. Everyone was extremely professional and friendly. My wife went for the bottomless fizz option for drinks and I was worried refills might take a while to arrive - but he came by and topped up well before she ever had an empty glass. The included pink sparkling wine was really good. Both our meals were also great, perfectly cooked and loads of flavour. I wish we lived closer as we'd become regulars!

We had our ork Christmas party here, and the music was great. The food was okay, I'd prefer to just have a table for drinks if we were to book again rather than eat. Other than the food, it was an amazing night and great atmosphere.

Would not recommend. Too packed. Nowhere to stand and have a drink as the bar area is rammed and not allowed to stand anywhere else. We had a table booked, the food was adequate, certainly not worth £55 per head. Only allocated 2 hours at the table and was rushed off. Had to stand in a walk way holding coats and drinks (£2 to put coat in the cloakrooms) Wanted to charge £61 service charge for 9 of us. We refused to pay service charge and left no tip. Couldn’t wait to get out of there.

One star is one too many - a very disappointing experience at Pianoworks Farringdon. Having booked a table for 15 people months ahead we arrived at the venue to find our table ‘for 15’ was a small table pushed into the corner of the room (which we were unable to pull out to make use of the full table due to it ‘covering electrics’) so we were expected to use half on a table, against two walls to accommodate 15 people standing around it and somewhere to put our food and drinks on. We spoke with the manager who told me ‘I should have checked the small print on my email because they only seat 1 in 5 people’ I tried to explain that it was not the lack of seating that was the problem, it was that we were expected to stand 15 people around a 1m table. He was also backed up by a very unfriendly female bouncer. Having realised the manager was going to do nothing to improve our situation we remained fighting for space around a pathetic corner table when a waiter then came over with two large drinks coolers which were put on the table. When I asked why we had received all of our drinks booking now she replied ‘we thought you were leaving so wanted all your drinks now’!! Pianoworks emailed me the week ahead of my booking to ask me how we wish to split the drinks order and what time we would like our drinks.. this clearly went out of the window! Why bother to email me and then ignore our request? Aside from the table, it was a hen party and we were determined not to let it ruin our night so, with no table space, had no choice but to collect in the dancing area. By 9.30pm there were so many people in the venue that we were elbow to elbow and dancing became ‘shuffling’, far too many people to make it an enjoyable experience, not to mention the sticky floors; it really was a dive. The ‘highlight’ of the evening was when they asked our bride to be to come to the front for a celebration picture.. a two piece board was rolled in with an image of what I can only describe as a ‘brothel’ bed on it, in which they wanted her to stand and get a picture in front of! Looking back at the picture of this board it really is disgusting.. what are you thinking? The ‘birthday’ board wasn’t much better, with the venue expecting you to stand in front of a prison mug shot black and white board, very very strange!! Later on that evening the waiter came over to ask me to pay the discretionary service charge of £90 - are you joking?! Not one part of our evening deserved positive recognition! I felt rather embarrassed having booked such a place for my best friends hen party, it was a horrible experience. What a shame! In case you think I am another Karen having a moan, I do not like to leave negative reviews and the venue we were at prior to here I have given a glowing review!

The staff in pianoworks Farringdon from the entry to the a lady who was keeping watch on the floors were absolutely unpleasant and rude. My friend and I visited this place on 9th of Feb 2024 and they are the worst and it is the least to say. They shouted at us who were their customers for no reason and the tone was apparent and for some basic things like paying at the entrance and leaving our coats by a table. Not sure this is even normal. Never visited a place like this before with such ill manners from staff. Further to this the bar staff got out drinks wrong much to our dismay. The only good thing about this place was the live music and the band. I give them that. The rest their staff are extremely poor in everything they do and manners are absolutely appalling.

Probably the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Birthday party was ruined by staff. We were lied to, mistreated and my guests and myself had a miserable time. The only saving Grace were the incredible performers. Otherwise we would not ever book with this management team ever again - unfriendly, rude and manipulative.
