Wimbledon & Putney Commons are vast land of trees, ponds, lakes. We enjoyed our walk there taking in the fresh air and beauty of nature. Make sure you wear proper shoes as the ground can be muddy and slippery. It was pleasant to see people walking their dogs, and children and elderly enjoying their walk.

My mindful solitary walks here give me happiness that keeps growing. I have seen all the seasons pass. As I walk my joy gets deeper. How lovely it is to have this space.

If you wanted to take someone up on their insult for you to ‘get lost’, you could potentially go to Wimbledon Common. It’s absolutely massive, and no matter how many times I’ve been there I have on no less than three occasions gotten completely lost. Make sure you have your phone on full battery and a signal just in case because the vastness of space could easily be overwhelming. I always find something completely new every time I go, and am not entirely convinced that Bachman–Turner Overdrive’s - You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet wasn’t inspired by this place.

One of the most beautiful commons in London! Well shaded paths leading to vast grassy spaces and ponds. I would come here every day and explore its different corners. There’s also a windmill museum in the middle of the common where you can have some coffee too. Oh and there are black berry bushes all over the common if you’re into berry picking:)

Its a beautiful and calm place. You could see a lot of animal like swans, ducks, rabbits, horse etc. You can feed them. Its a fun time. Bring them some corn, or seeds. They will love it. Nature is truly beautiful and interesting. Totally worth a few hours walk around. Will do it next week again

Living in nearby Putney for four years a walk on Wimbledon Common or around Putney Heath was a weekly highlight. Returning some five years on and the same feelings & emotions returned. Lovely. Super relaxing. A great place for families, young and old, and for walking the pooch 🐶. There are many beautiful parks and gardens around the UK and I just happen to move near to this lovely one. An easy walk, dog friendly and even space for a picnic. Enjoy the summer, go for a walk.

I live right by putney common, I spend hours every day walking the dog around its many acres and it brings me nothing but pure joy. I count myself so incredibly lucky to have such a great spot on my doorstop. Fantastic part of the world.

My first time walking at this park. Great space for a long walk and lose yourself amongst lovely trees. I would recommend this park to walk on a hot day as the paths are shaded.

A very popular walking and jogging area. A tea room/ cafe serves food and drinks. Toilets are next door. Around the corner is the London Scottish Golf Club who serve hot and cold drinks along with toasties and chips.

Beautiful and peaceful open spaces in south west London , Wimbledon common is the more spacious , with a Central lake full of feeding birds, the common is surrounded by many large town houses, let's not forget this is a wealthy prosperous part of London , take the District line underground train to Wimbledon station , the end of the line , the common is only 15 minutes walk from the station , well worth a visit to relax and unwind .

I've grown up going here and find something new every time I go, I really enjoy showing my kids the places I used to go as a kid and they enjoy aswell, especially the ducks!

Nice park to hang out and Wimbledon Village is walking distance from there, so you can easily get some bites, come back to the park and have a little picnic. The park does need some looking after though, grass is overgrown. On-street parking by the park is free on weekends.

This was surprising a really lovely park. I was shocked At the amount of activities in this park. It was really big and lots of walking space. Quite a gloomy atmosphere with the tall trees but a very relaxing and lovely walk.

Improve the 🥓 sandwich with a tad more bacon and far better bread than what I was given. For £4 you would expect better. Also have sachets of sauce available. If pen ponds cafe in Richmond Park can do it so can you.

A lovely park, well looked after. Great for walking with a group or alone and a lovely sport of tea well placed to stop in mid-walk.

A favourite walking place, and a great cafe to keep you going

It's a varied large walking area. You do have to be careful around the open golf course if walking (dogs). And you can hear the A3 rumbling past from parts. But a happy natural place .

Incredible piece of nature. Wonderful experience. Comfortable walk embraced by this old and spacious forest that makes you forget you are in the city. Lots of birds were practicing their best songs at that time.

Perfect place for a good dog walk. Nice café, a small museum good for taking the kids. All in all the perfect place for a day out for families or for people with dogs.

When the sun is out, Wimbledon Common and the heath become just the best place to be for those of us living in the ever increasing built up areas which surround it. It’s a trip back into the C19th when all of Wimbledon Park and Southfields looked just like it with the odd farm here and there. Today I followed the main water course up the hill from where it feeds Queensmere and despite the windmill car park being packed, I didn’t see a soul for a good half an hour. There is so much more to this area if you stray off the beaten tracks. I make the comparison with an earlier Wimbledon Park as I remember from childhood, the stream emerging from the bank of Home Park Road and running along behind the swings - now hidden underground - and I found something very similar on the way up the Queensmere feed. Get out there, get off the paths, lose yourself. You’ll always come back to civilisation if you just keep walking. Enjoy.

Nice spot to take a walk, take your kids, your dog… I used to run around the Commons but in the winter gets too muddy so it might not be the best place to jog.

Open land, woods, ponds and many trails. Good place for walking and exploring. There is a large pond on a part of the public area and several hidden ponds in the main forest

Beautiful walk in the woods on a hot sunny day. Shelter under the cooling canopy along the stream leading to the lake.

Love this place. Big open space plus woodland area the A3 runs along aside but you can avoid that part of the common if you love quietness. Love it when there is no cyclists around I can be in my own private world without having to watch and listen out for them. Very limited parking space, toilets and only one cafe which I find very expensive.
