Great day out for the family, explore the buildings, see the crown jewels, watch the guards and walk the boundary wall. The guards are friendly so grab a photo to treasure. If going by train, you can get entry discounts.

Being inside was definitely a step back in time. I was also amazed to learn that people still actually live and conduct daily life here! The Crown Jewels were of course fun to see, the jewels are just so large, they seem fake. So it’s crazy that they aren’t!

Magnificent medieval castle with a rich history and at the heart of royal lineage dating back to 1000 AD. A must see when in London. Great tours by Beefeaters pointing out great stories and facts about the castle including some current comic relief. The tour adds to the delight of visiting the castle. 3 entry periods each about 2 hours long. Get your tix in advance. Don't miss the Crown Jewels on display! Tix are about £28

The interactive museum experience within the walls was better the last time I visited the Tower complex, but hopefully the places that were inaccessible were closed for renovations. The crown jewels coronation exhibit was still use.

(Translated by Google) A must to know the history of England and a symbol of London. It dates from the 11th century and has been from a fortress to a palace, passing through a prison and an armory. Today it is one of the most visited places in London. For five centuries the Tower of London housed the British Mint, where Isaac Newton worked as a supervisor from 1699 to 1727. He is not only one of the most important scientists of all time , but also one of the most efficient security supervisors in the kingdom. Newton took his job very seriously and spent a great deal of time and effort bringing coin and bill counterfeiters to justice. Edward IV died in 1483 suddenly. He had two sons and his eldest son, Edward V (aged twelve) was the heir to the throne. Their uncle Richard of Gloucester invited them to the Tower before the coronation, which was to take place in June. Meanwhile, the marriage of Eduardo IV was declared null, reason why the children were illegitimate and Ricardo was named king (Ricardo III) in July. The children were not heard from again after August and they are believed to have been murdered in the Bloody Tower, which is named after the event. In 1674, two infant human skeletons were found on the ground near the White Tower. Ricardo served as the inspiration for Shakespeare's character Richard III. The second scene of act four includes a passage relating to the imprisonment and murder of two princes. These are some of the words that Shakespeare uses to define it: deformed monster, dog and devil. However, Ricardo still has a following. The Richard III Society believes that he was not the monster that Shakespeare showed and has advocated since 1924 to assess his reign more objectively.

Built between 1238 and 1272. It was commissioned by Henry III. Served as defense to the white tower that was given a rampart. It was a royal apartment for the Queen, while the King was at the Wakefield Tower. Edward I er chose to live at the St. Thomas tower he had built on purpose. At his death his successors moved to the Lanthorn tower, depriving the Queen of these apartments.
