Awesome place and awesome exhibitions. I went there last summer to see the exhibition about the Sikh Empire in today's Indian and Pakistani Punjab under Ranjit Singh in the 19th century. And it was the best. The decriptions, the pictures, the items - just everything was perfect. I enjoyed it much to explore the fascinating history of the Sikhs in this little museum/gallery. I would recommend it to everyone interested in Asian and African culture.

an interesting little gallery. it's free to enter and worth checking out. when we went there was an exhibit on sudan with some real wonderful photography. upstairs is a japanese roof garden. I imagine it's a lot prettier in summer as there wasn't any overhanging greenery when we went but is a nice quiet spot.

A nice free museum that's part of the SOAS University of London. There's an ever changing program of exhibits and on the day I visited it was Film Poster Art in Africa. Nice to see some rather amusing interpretations of the films the posters were meant to advertise. Especially for films I've seen before. Really interesting the artists try to make their art stand out from the crowd with extra colourful arrangement, not to mention gore.

Three levels. Free entrance. Nice rooftop. Beautiful pieces but poor museography.

Wonderful gallery and an amazing exhibition. Was fortunate enough to attend when an expert was on hand to talk through one of the displays, a howitzer. Excellent free walked tour through the exhibition too, lovely and interactive. Also much needed air conditioning on a day like yesterday!

A small gallery over two floors (ground and basement) with a Japanese garden in the roof. We went to see the Japanese borro exhibition as we've recently learn how to do this and we weren't disappointed and came away with lots of ideas

Great space, very accessible but very very warm in the theatre space on days like today! Easy location to get to though!

Saw two exhibitions there - one about Nigeria and the other about publications. Interesting exhibits.

Such a mélange of lectures, performances and talks take place here... It really is a home for the curious mind looking to be expanded.

The Brunei gallery is small and free and puts on regularly fascinating exhibitions covering subjects that I for one might never have given much thought to, for example contemporary egyptian weaving, or kente cloth, plus many that appeal more obviously, such as the oriental ceramics and Mozambiquan propaganda posters currently on display. Either way I have learned to trust their judgment. It always forget that it is closed Monday. If you are there at lunchtime there are often some Hare Krishnas (I think) dishing out free tasty vegetable curry nearby. It does not appear to indoctrinate you.

Lovely gallery, lovely cool temperature and there were toilets just outside of the gallery. The exhibition "In a Pot of Hot Soup" on art and the articulation of politics in Nigeria was very thought provoking. A must see on till the 3rd September. Also the gallery is free to enter!!!!!
