Very good contemporary art gallery about 10 minutes walk from Hampstead Underground Station. The building the Centre occupies was opened in 1897 as the Hampstead Central Library. It now combines historic architecture with open, modern spaces, a café, bookshop and secluded garden, with free entry for all. We visited to see the Bloomberg New Contemporaries show which included some very interesting works. The exhibition is on until 14 April 2024 and is well worth a visit.

Absolutely love this place! A little oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Finchley Road. The exhibition spaces are beautiful and the cafe is faultless. Lovely beer on tap and delicious sandwiches and cakes. Great environment to work in, with adjoining garden. It also has a ceramics studio and well-stocked gift shop full of interesting books. Caught a couple of exhibitions whilst there and, although small, well worth it. Staff are lovely and the service was fast and efficient. They don’t do takeaway coffees but not a problem for us since we love the cafe and garden anyway!

A beautiful old building with a lovely bookshop, cafe, outside seating and space for ~2 temporary exhibitions. Despite being hit by a V2 rocket in the Second World War, the art centre is a beautiful place to spend a few hours in an otherwise busy city.

Really nice gallery. Small exhibitions and pretty nice employers. I also think that the outside area with a small garden is nice to spend a couple of hours reading a book. I would recommend the gallery to someone that really is into art, cause the exhibitions can be really conceptual. Overall 4/5 :)

It just so happened that the two free exhibitions really appealed to me. Absolutely beautiful art, professionally presented. The stewards were helpful, professional and knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. I had a couple of hours to kill and couldn't have done it in a better place. There is also a well stocked bookshop and a lovely café and gardens; the café isn't cheap, but the food and coffee are excellent and it's a lovely space with a nice ambiance and jolly staff.

Wonderful event venue. I won't comment on the gallery aspect as I my only experience was as a guest at a bar mitzvah. The ceremony was held in the garden with the party spread between the garden and indoor space with bar etc. -all very good. The garden is lovely with mature trees. The food was all excellent and staff all wonderful (relaxed, friendly, helpful). Recommended.

Great space with a beautiful cafe and garden. A peaceful haven in London that's perfect for relaxing in the sunshine with a good book. The staff are always cheerful and friendly too 😊

Lovely art gallery and café with the quaintest garden. The cafe is quite pricey for relatively simple food though. The bookshop is great!

Free contemporary art gallery housed in an interesting former library building, currently hosting the Bloomberg New Contemporaries annual exhibition (which in previous years was at the South London Gallery). It is just across the road from Finchley Road and Frognal Overground station, and also near Finchley Road station and a 10 minute walk from Hampstead station. There is also a pleasant garden and an excellent café.

A small but ever changing program at a NW3 art gallery. Can recommend. Interesting art shop and small enough to visit for an hour or so. Easy to get to with local bus, overground and tube connections.

Really interesting part of North London. Nice to float around and meet friends. The cafe has limited choice aside from a few salads and small pastries but good for a catchup/mooch around

A small oasis of greenery and art in an otherwise loud and busy part of town. A nice place to spend an hour. I wouldn't come here just for this but look forward to accidentally stumbling on CAC again.

A brilliant space for exhibitions - the Martin Wong exhib was superbly curated complete with a documentary about his life - got home needing to know more; his superbly portrayed works on US Prisons, Wardens, Firemen, his friendships with Latin Americans, and his use of US sign language in many of his works. Now planning a trip to NY to see his urban art collection. A free exhib with Eventbrite.

Great exhibitions. The gift shop has so many cool books related to art and social issues as well as science. Exhibitions are usually free and very good. The cafe and garden area have good atmospheres as well

The Camden art centre is a lovely place to spot some local art. All the staff there was helpful and really nice, whether it be people at the reception, inside the galleries or the café. The centre is also kid-friendly, with activities related to the art. The café feels homey in the sense that despite it being rather busy, it was still quiet. It doesn’t look like one of those cutesy neighbourhood cafés, but the food and atmosphere make it feels like one in my opinion. I didn’t have a chance to check the garden as it was pouring that day, but it seems just as nice as the rest, with picnic blankets provided... 🌿

High quality free art exhibitions in a nice building, with friendly staff and a great cafè. Regular family activities - which we often attend. Cool outdoor space and garden.

Very sweet place with a nice book store and small library, haven't explored the ceramic side of things, but the Cafe is great with a garden for the more sunny days.

This is one of my favourite galleries. The exhibitions are always interesting - I've discovered some wonderful artists here. Café is also nice, with some outside seating in a peaceful garden.

Beautiful garden. Coffee tasted a bit burnt, and the cake which looked great was quite dried, although tasty. They don't do take away for sustainability reasons, whcih is great for the environment but not so much for those who want to walk around the garden with the coffee. Their salads looked quite good though.
