I've
just
phoned
to
book
an
appointment.
I
have
a
chest
infection
which
I've
had
for
10
days
now.
As
a
chronic
asthmatic
I'm
in
danger
of
this
turning
into
bronchitis
or
pneumonia.
My
pharmacist
thinks
I
should
now
be
on
antibiotics
or
steroids.I
was
told
that
the
next
appointment
would
be
in
two
weeks
time.
I
have
to
phone
back
at
08:00.
With
the
fevers
during
the
night
I'm
not
sleeping
well
then
over-sleeping.
This
really
isn't
the
care
that
I
expected
in
my
old
age.
Previously:
I've
been
with
this
practice
for
almost
40
years.
Now
in
my
older
years
I'm
a
bit
scared
to
stay
on
here.
I've
not
seen
a
GP
face-to-face
in
over
4
years.
Phone
appointments
sometimes
don't
come
through,
and
I
can't
say
everything
I
need
to
in
the
10
minute
allotted
time.
I'm
scared
that
I'm
just
not
getting
the
care
that
I
now
need.
Blood
test
results
weren't
sent
to
me
for
several
months,
even
though
some
fairly
serious
issues
showed
up.
I
have
several
health
issues
that
need
addressing
and
I
can't
get
the
care
and
attention
from
this
practice
like
I
used
to
be
able
to.
I'm
not
sure
what's
happening
there
but
it's
been
since
COVID
that
poor
practices
have
been
prevalent
here.
I
think
that
I
need
to
find
another
GP
practice.
I'm
trying
to
look
after
myself
but
I'm
scared
that
they'll
miss
a
diagnosis
here
and
that
I'll
die
from
their
negligence.
Why
they
can't
see
patients
face-to-face
now
is
a
mystery
to
me.
Other
GP
practices
offer
normal
appointments
now.
I
have
to
seriously
re-think
my
loyalty
to
this
practice
as
it's
not
good
for
my
health.
Just
to
add
that
I
was
waiting
for
a
phone
appointment
but
although
calls
came
through,
when
I
tapped
on
"answer"
it
doesn't
connect.
Their
text
message
feature
is
blocked
for
me
to
use
it.
I
haven't
blocked
it.
Email
doesn't
seem
to
be
an
option
and
a
GP
diagnosis
questionnaire
feature
tells
me
that
my
symptoms
can't
be
diagnosed
and
that
I
need
to
book
an
appointmen!
I'm
just
constantly
going
round
in
circles
getting
nowhere
and
getting
older
and
frailer
in
the
meantime.
ADDENDUM.
(Previous)
I
went
into
the
surgery
to
take
in
some
test
vials.
Whilst
there
I
mentioned
my
communication
problems
and
disappointment
with
the
care
I
was
getting,
to
the
new
reception
staff.
The
young
receptionists
listened,
told
me
to
take
a
seat
and,
after
a
few
minutes,
I
was
offerered
a
face-to-face
appointment
later
the
same
day.
It's
a
25
minute
walk
each
way
for
me,
but
I
gratefully
accepted
the
appointment.
Thank
you
Dr
Khan
for
listening
to
my
short
list
of
health
problems
and
actioning
some
tests
and
referral
appointments.
I
hope
this
good
care
and
reception
kindness,
and
consideration,
continues.
I
now
have
an
email
contact
address
and
I
feel
reassured
ftm.
Thanks
to
everyone
on
duty,
in
the
morning,
on
Friday
25th
October.
