My first time in here and could be the last . From my seated position I saw a member of staff twice walk past the rubbish on the floor ( picture ) my female company told me the ladies toilet was even worst with tissue and toilet paper over the floor and dustin bin. She definitely won't return. Behind the bar there was a similar mess and leading into the kitchen. There's 4 star hygiene standard on the entrance door but the detritus inside make you wonder !

The food comes out looking nothing like the pictures. Kids pizza meal shows half a pizza and chips. Comes out as a single slice. Nachos starter look beautiful on the menu, comes out with a few nachos chucked on a plate with some grated cheese on top. Seriously just poor quality and it's not cheap either!

Maybe they have a different Chef now because the quality of the food has bounced back from its previous quality. Which means it's good now. BUT!!! Staff need to get to grips with those sticky tables inside. Manager needs to check up on these important things. Wipe the cutlery dry, instead of drip drying it, and fix broken toilet seats before someone comes a cropper. Then I'll give the full five stars.

Visited on Monday. Ordered chicken Roast Dinner. Looked like I got the remains from the Sunday carvery. Roast potatoes heated up as was the stuffing. No cabbage no Yorkshire pudding. All food luke warm except chicken. When I complained The second meal was brought just as bad

This is a historic place with commanding views over Epping Forest. The service was not good and the place looked dated and grubby. The outside tables were all dirty when we went to sit down. This is a great location let down by mediocre management. I sincerely hope it improves.

I LOVED brewers fayre also known as Royal Forest. This pub is now closed to the public and only customers staying at the premier inn can eat here. I am 100% certain but for some strange reason it has the wrong information on google about it being open to public?

A large and pleasant pub with a relaxed atmosphere - we went there on a Sunday and sat in the beer garden. Large outside space, with good sunshades (we were 3 adults and a baby) - and surrounded by greenery and nature. Would describe as family friendly pub chain, chilled with reasonable prices :)

Visited this restaurant on my own today, and had to be there for more than a couple of hours. I was served by 4 different members of staff, and every one of them was excellent. The service was so good, caring and patient. Highly recommend for a warm welcome and good service. The food I had was basic "pub grub", but the price was reasonable for London area. No complaints from me at all.

We generally had a bad meal on sunday early evening. I had a vegan burger after my first choice vegan meal wasn't available. It turned up without all the ingredients, when I pointed out the vegan bacon and the vegan coleslaw was missing. I kept my plate as they had taken so long with errors in the first course I wasn't prepared to miss the meal. Staffing was obviously an issue but the quality of the food served wasn't great. The manager did come over and comp some deserts but they were so late taking the order for desserts that we just wanted to go home. My mother ordered mushrooms to start with. They were cold in the middle, this was replaced with a soup, which was very late and disgusting. My partners roast potatoes were squidgy and not crispy. These are to name a few issues with the meal of 12 people.

We have had poor experiences here in the past, but this week we tried again and were very pleasantly surprised. Good range on menu, enthusiastic table service and in my case, decent steak + black forest sundae. The only downside were intrusive video screens featuring offers - looking downmarket.

This place has gone down hill. The ladies toilets were filthy, poo in pan, black dirty crud under the hand dryer, grime around sinks. Floors filthy, especially near the bar. Generally in need of some tlc. Deep fried mushrooms were soggy and cold. My Curry was Luke warm, my daughters was burnt (too long in the microwave). Medium rare steak was well done. The carvery was OK and the staff were very nice. They just need a cleaner and a better cook.

This is a buffet style breakfast, you can have as much tea, coffee, fruit juice, fruit, cereal, toast and pastries as you like and then order your English breakfast, including black pudding. Excellent value for price. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very slow service. We waited half an hour for our drinks and saw drinks for newly arrived customers served before ours. There seemed to be lots of issues with orders on other tables too. They did give us the drinks for free when they realised, but it wasn't really good enough considering they were not even busy. The bar staff just did not seem bothered. Food was average.

We were disappointed with the breakfast at Royal Forest, slow in replacing food sausages were anaemic and only 1 hot drink machine. TBF looks like they were really short of staff and the ladies that were there tryed there best .

Man serving meat, if he smiled face would crack. Serving staff lovely. Meat dry, maybe as just before end of serving, roast potatoes not good either, maybe sane reason, tasteless. Where we sat despite table cleared, floor was like a kids party been there, came our with food stuck to our feet.

Service was appalling. Left to browse menu no drinks served for 45 minutes. Brought wrong drinks. Not proper glasses appropriate for drinks. Food chucked at us. VERY small portions. Didn't clear away when finished. Left for a long time before a dessert was offered. The restaurant was very tired. Needs a good clean nd spruce up and more attention to detail. There was not enough staff for number of clientele.

Great atmosphere. Food always value for money. We take our Mums on a regular basis, one is 89 & the other is 99. The staff are fantastic with them.

I go to Brewers fayre all the time. You cannot fault the staff they are both friendly and professional and have obviously been very well trained. The food is delicious, especially on a Sunday, you can get a normal size roast or a large size, and the large is enormous! Everything we’ve tasted on the menu is really nice except for the burgers which are sometimes really good and sometimes not so good. Lovely cheap place to eat with good quality food!

I have always found the service slow here, but this time they excelled themselves! We arrived around 3pm for a late lunch, it looked quiet, but it took 10 mins to get seated. We ordered our food and drinks quickly but then our drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and our food about 40 minutes later. I asked for a plain cheeseburger but mine wasn't, so it had to be sent back to the kitchen which took another 15 minutes. When I told the waitress who took our order what had happened, she simply shrugged and said "ok". She didn't even apologise! I came with my Mum whose meal was supposed to include garlic bread, but that never saw the light of day either. To be fair, when I complained to the Manager, he was very apologetic and only charged us for drinks. I have been coming to this establishment for years, but I certainly shan't be visiting for the forseeable!

The Brewers Fayre is what it says on the tin. The food is basic but there was nothing left on our plates, the prices are cheap (especially considering the area), parking is free and plentiful and the staff were pleasant and welcoming. Don’t go expecting Michelin star food but do go expecting to be planning more frequent visits.

Been here loads of times and enjoyed it. Today the service and food were terrible. I don't like to criticize but chef needs changing if they haven't already. Unfortunately it was for a son's birthday with family and l was embarrassed to have taken them there. Hopefully it will improve again soon.

Dropped in for the breakfast without a reservation. Staff were fine - reserved though not unfriendly. The food on offer was decent enough, the cooked breakfast, especially the eggs, was fresh and tasted good. I would definitely consider a return.

Love this place, great food options and different things on kids menu than the usual. Staff friendly and chatty and they know there food, so able to answer questions about ingredients well. Food is delicious and reasonable priced.

I've been here for drinks/meals before but this particular visit was a Sunday as most of our party wanted a carvery roast dinner. Though we've eaten here before we were rather disappointed on this occasion. We were served quickly to begin with, placing a drinks and food order. Food and carvery tickets arrived quickly, but we waited over 30 mins for our drinks, despite asking staff where they were after 10 and 20 mins. They finally arrived as we finished our meal. We then had to wait an incredibly long time for someone to come and take payment, after asking for the bill. The food itself was nice enough, the carvery meat (turkey, gammon and beef) was delicious and very generous in portion size. Vegetables, gravy, yorkshire and stuffing was also very nice. The roast potatoes however were a huge disappointment, clearly cooked long ago and kept warm so were dry and rubbery. There's free parking on site. The staff were friendly, but clearly overworked as short on staff. I'm not sure we'd come for Sunday dinner again unfortunately.

Went in for drinks early evening (5.15pm). Bar service was awful. Waited 10 minutes to get served, bar staff did not know how to make cocktails, even although there is an offer on cocktails between 5pm and 7pm. This is advertised outside on a blackboard and all over the bar! He also did not know about the offer so over charged me. When I asked about it I got a sarcastic comment from another bar staff, whom I was assuming was the manager, is it unreasonable to ask to be charged the correct price? Stupidly we decided to have a 2nd drink, thinking it couldn't be that bad again. I was served by the same person who over charged again, rung up the till, took payment and then walked away without giving me any drinks! Leaving the bar area! The next member of staff came on shift and tried to serve the gentleman next to me!!! In total it took 20 minutes to get my drinks! The cocktails didn't taste like there was any alcohol in them. On the whole - terrible service, terrible attitude from staff and awful drinks!!!
