I have had a fair amount of take away meals from this place and they have usually been nice so decided to try in the restaurant. The decor is lovely and the staff are generally pleasant but the price is just not right! The portions are quite small and expensive just for a bit of batter and spice! The heat level was below zero and I don’t know why they bother with the chilli symbols, the vegan options are poor and most isn’t made from scratch because if it was they would take adjustments. Electronic feed back form given to you right away so you can’t even sit and enjoy your meal. Naans are SHOP BOUGHT! Seriously.

Flavorful dishes and suggestive ambience. The menu is well balanced, not too many begetsrian mains but what we ordered was delicious and well presented. Service was standard, nothing extraordinary. Ambience is well maintained. Overall, it was a good experience. I recommend booking in advance on weekends as if you don't you might have to wait. Definitelyrecommended.

Let's get started.... So we have tried 2 other branches of Masala Zone and this is the third. If you're doing shopping on Oxford Street and looking for great indian food then this is your perfect place. Make sure to book online table because there is no guarantee if you walk-in you get a table. We booked Via restaurant online site. The ambience is good, staff is attentive and look after every table equally. For starter's we ordered Punjabi wing's and those were just super yummy. Loads of happiness. Juicy, spicy and tasty at the same time, must try. In the main course we opted for what Masala Zone is very well known for Butter Chicken with Portion roti and Garlic Naan. Both were super, butter chicken is best in the world. My only repeated suggestion is the quantity of the gravy not chicken. You can increase the gravy quantity a bit. So overall it's a heaven for all types of cuisine.

"I've been to the restaurant twice. The first time, we came without a reservation and were seated at the bar. Despite the somewhat small bar table, we enjoyed the food. For our second visit, we reserve a table (otherwise it’s difficult to find one). The service ranged is good to excellent but not perfect. The food is irresistible. We tried several dishes, all of which were delicious and worth experiencing, especially the appetizers. If I return to London again, I will definitely revisit the restaurant.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the service is excellent. One of the most delicious and cleanest Indian foods in the world, not only in London. Every time I come to London, I come a lot.

I loved it. Excellent food, excellent and knowledgeable wait staff, excellent atmosphere. The food was great and true to it's origin and regions. The menu choices that were sampler platters were great for those who want to try things they otherwise would not have as single dishes, and the portions were.just right. Sometimes you get huge portions which either go to waste cause you don't want to take them with you, or you'd be too stuffed to move if you ate it all. Prices were quite reasonable for the location as well. Highly recommended.

Not many vegetarian main course curry options however the taste was good. Ambience is very good and the servers are very responsive. I would suggest to make the Masala zone board outside a bit brighter as it is difficult to spot it if you have mot been here before. Overall had a pleasant evening.

Decent Indian restaurant at SOHO. Authentic Indian flavor and taste. The curries are bit sweeter as per the British palate but still decent. The starters are good. Portions are a bit small. The staff is good and helpful. Make sure you don't go there without making reservations on the weekends. Not sure about the weekdays though. Not a very large selection of alcoholic drinks if you are going only to drink. Overall a decent place.

I arrived at 2.25 and mentioned that I only want to order 1 item from the menu (street food) the gentleman with a suit and a pink shirt at the door said sorry we close at 2.30. When I mentioned it’s not 2.30 yet and I only want to order 1 item from the menu he agreed to sit me down. From the second I entered I didn’t like his attitude and his lack of consideration. He then ordered the wrong item from the menu but denied it and said that’s what I said. But I came to have this only item from the menu how could I get it wrong. I have this a 2* because the food was delicious even though there was a tiny bit of topping inside. It was quite insulting but the taste was there. He ruined my experience with his attitude and too little for the price you paid for. The general waiters in black shirts were lovely.

We reached at a peak time that too on Saturday. They politely asked us to wait for 30min within the restaurant as it was cold outside and no table was available. But as soon as it was free, the waitress came and told us much early itself that the table is ready. Service- Excellent. I could give more than 5* if that option was available. Waitress even gave idea of quantity wise what dish would be sufficient for 1 or for 2, so that we can order like that. The restaurant was damn busy but the staff was superactive too servicing everyone in the best way they can. Food- We ordered vegetable Mughlai Biryani, Black dal, garlic Naan, Jalebi chat. Jalebi chat- Was amazed to see this unheard option in the menu and were superamazed by its taste. It was crispy, delicious and one of the best cheats we can ever had in a restaurant. Dal Makhni- Quantity was enough for 1 person eating with 1 Naan. It was very yummy and the garlic Naan was soft and nice. Vegetable Biryani- Poor rating only for it. It was our main course and it didn't seem to be like biryani. There were just 2 colors of rice present, but missing layers of spices or anything. We were very disappointed by it. Will not recommend it to anyone. The chef should know how actually biryani is cooked. It was just like 0 spice, shades of yellow colore rice. Overall big no for biryani and I highly suggest to try Jalebi Chat.

Expensive. Really expensive. Good quality food, amazing service, cool atmosphere and a good place to visit. This was the most expensive restaurant we went to in the UK and turned out to be the most expensive of our trip. This bill worked out to nearly 200 CAD after all was said and done. While the food and everything was amazing, the cost was certainly not amazing. 5 star experience but -1 star because of the cost.

Hard to find this on Soho but once found we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the delicious food from Masala Zone. They have lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well. Staff were nice and friendly. The ambience of the place was very nice as well. The place is very packed and busy generally so best to have a reservation. Extremely good tasty authentic Indian food. We have also been to their Covent garden branch and love both 😋😋

When the Indian restaurant around the corner failed to have space for our party of five, this place came up trumps! The presentation of food was superb and it tasted very good too. Reasonable prices and good service.

Best food ever! We ordered a few things and honestly I never experienced such rich and authentic taste in any other restaurant outside India before. Everything was superb 👍🏻

One of the first Indian restaurants I have visited and my lack of experience regarding Indian food can be misleading. While visiting London I’ve come across this restaurant and decided to have a quick snack. However the fried prawns felt dull with no flavour whatsoever. The burgers were okay but there was no sauce that would enhance the taste of vegan patty. The service was polite and quick. The atmosphere was pleasant and culturally appropriate. Definitely would give it another try but New restaurants need to be tried before I could give my final thought.

Had a lovely meal here! The food came quickly and was tasty and the ambience here was so warm and inviting! Would definitely recommend! We were served by Abbas (I think, sorry if I got that wrong! He was a young guy with glasses) thank you for your hospitality!!

"Outstanding flavors and impeccable service at masala zone! A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine. The Bombay bhaji was a highlight…pure culinary delight!"

Very good all round. Excellent menu and choice of dishes both meat and veg. Jalebi chaat was a unique and good take on a sweet chaat. Crispy onion flower was well presented and tata red great with the dish chutney. Pav slider and masala chips were also very good, great for sharing. Balanced tasty cocktails, service excellent too, staff were friendly and attentive. Recommended and will revisit to try other items on the menu!

Masala Zone in Soho has a beautiful ambiance with serene lighting. The staff is professional and friendly. While the starters, especially the cheese balls and pani puri, are fantastic, the main course has limited vegetarian options. The Pav Bhaji, though beautifully presented, lacked salt. Adding more variety to the main course and a touch of spice would enhance the overall dining experience. Great for appetizers and ambiance.

Fantastic food! Right from starters that were made to perfection and paired with tangy chutneys. The thali is well balanced, absolutely delicious and good value for money. The service was a bit out of the place as I waited over 30 mins for my food to be served. Would recommend it!

Good place, good food but not the best. Prices a bit high but also ok. The place is very nice but has strong smell when you come in, much more then other places i have been in..

Not to be judged by the cover! We only ate vegetarian food, but it was well spiced, tasty and authentic. The staff were super friendly, not too much, but informative and helpful. We enjoyed our whole dining experience. The sharing platter was filling and so good.

Food was the star!! Hearty portion, fresh and tasty. On the other hand, must stress the service is a letdown. I found the staff looking a bit scruffy, a couple of them touching their hair, scratching beard, and serving our drinks, didn't know the basic crumb down procedure and served courses without clearing dirty cutlery or clearing the crumbs. The atmosphere is good. Quite Reasonable for the location.

I ate here with a few other people and we got a bunch of small plates to share as starters, and one large plate each(which we also shared) as the main course. The food was amazing, really some of the best Indian food that I have had. The Goan Fried Prawns were one standout, as while not being traditional Goan food they were absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for some good Indian food in London, any of Masala Zones would be a great choice!

Loved the starters and the dessert. We got non veg thali - lamb and chicken. Food was delicious but we felt really bloated while having the food and couldn't finish the thali at all.

This was definitely one of the best Indian meals I’ve had so far. Beautiful starters and then the mains held so much flavour. Just the waiter hanging round our table at the end made it a little uncomfortable. But the service throughout the meal was great.

Quite a busy location even for weekdays, you definitely need to book a table. Saw many people be turned away at the door. Service was very good and all our needs were catered to - atmosphere was nice too. I can’t lie and say that it was affordable, it definitely wasn’t - a small bowl of rice for £4.15! The food was decent but not a place I would go back to, especially as it was mostly aesthetic over portion size.

Extremely good tasty authentic idian food with ultra good service. The mild chili plates are really mild so be not afraid to experiment with spicy food. Chicken tikka masala is to die for! Definitely the first dish to try here

Great Indian restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient despite it being quite busy. We got a table straight away. The food was delicious and decent spice level. The Thali dish not only looked great but was really filling too. The menu wasn’t huge. We also had a coffee before leaving which was surprisingly good too. Recommended

Great quality Indian food. Must try Jalabi Chaat really unique and amazing. Everything is good but the quantity of food to the price point is not the best. Very little food for the price. But absolutely tasty and clean.

Great food and service, however the portion size is pretty less for the price being charged else everything is excellent.

We were looking for Indian food and we came here as we had heard of this place. The decor and ambience is great. We ordered two mango lassi to begin with and they were good. But the vegetarian starters and mains were a little disappointing as I expected better. There was a lot of effort on things looking good, they tasted okay. The paneer tikka didn’t seem it was cooked on a grill / tandoor. It felt it was pan fried. The paneer makhanwala gravy seemed a bit bland. The dal was okay ish too. Nothing too great, that would justify the 4+ stars. As an Indian, who cooks a lot of this food at home too, this seemed like a let down of a meal at a restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food is simply incredible, the flavours are out of this world. I’ve been coming here every time I’m in London for 20 years and is never failed to impress. I recommend the thalis as you get a bit of everything. The atmosphere and the service are also top notch. You won’t be disappointed. Five stars.
