I must say visiting this palace is a very enjoyable experience. It is totally free, not that full except for the cafe & outdoor area, and very breathtakingly beautiful at times. I sincerely enjoyed my visit especially to the exhibition room that was visually engaging and so simply beautiful. I definitely recommend that you book tickets online and have a look.

This is free to enter, and probably takes an hour at a slow to moderate pace to see the museum, rooms and garden. It’s decent, but also slightly odd. The gardens are nice for a few minute walkthrough or can sit on the grass or one if the few benches for a longer experience. The museum’s volunteers are nice, and the intro video in the shop was helpful, but the rooms are a bit disjunct and arranged more topically rather than linearly, so wasn’t quite sure how it fit into the palace’s history. For example, two rooms were on slavery, one of archaeology, one a timeline but showed more of slavery and world events vs the palace. Some rooms are then empty with just a brief sign of its purpose. It’s worth a wander but set your expectations appropriately. The chapel is nice but easy to miss - just head towards toilets and continue down the hall. Cafe is ok - some seating but not a huge selection of food/snacks. Toilets are adequate.

Fulham palace is next to Bishops park in Fulham. Easy bus and tube route and a good walking distance too. Enjoy exploring the grounds with children and adults as there’s always something to find. Events are held here occasionally so check their website for details. There’s a log garden that children can enjoy climbing up and down and settle down to a nice picnic with own food and drinks or food and drinks from the resident cafe.

This poor Palace doesn't get any recognition or respect that it deserves. Maybe because instead of housing kings & queens, it's been a home for Bishops of London. Also its free entry doesn't do it any favours either because it's taken for granted and overlooked even by locals let alone tourists. I think Grade I listed buildings of middle ages should have at least a nominal entry fee and general public shouldn't be allowed to just walk through it.

A vaguely interesting spot for a wander, though it isn't going to take you too long to work your way around the exhibits. Cafe seemed popular/busy. Lots of toilets. Staff welcoming and helpful. If it weren't free, I don't think I'd have enjoyed my time there nearly as much.

Fulham Palace is a fascinating museum with beautiful grounds. Their staff are friendly and shop and cafe are excellent. I particularly love all the events, such as Apple Day, which allow the local community to appreciate all the great work done at the Palace. Plus, shoutout for offering multiple bike racks and welcoming people riding bikes!

Interesting place to visit steeped in history. The garden, especially the walled garden are fabulous. It's close to Putney Bridge, the River Thames and it's easy to get to by public transport. You could easily spend the afternoon enjoying the sunshine in the garden or enjoying a cuppa and cake from the café. The chapel is great. The staff are friendly and informative Would recommend anyone to visit.

Fulham palace is a peaceful green haven located by the Thames. The venue has beautiful architecture with high ceilings and quite frankly stunning decoration with period fireplaces. There is also a chilled period styled cafe at the rear of the building with optional outdoor seating. Well worth a visit especially if you want a bit of peace and quiet.

This is a great place for a day out with so many different things for young chikdren to experience. You can definitely spend a couple of hours going through the River Walk, the house, the cafe, the walled garden and of course, the surriunding park area. Great opportunity to be in in an oasis of calm and well documented exhibitions within Fulham Palace. Would highly recommend as it's all free. Check the website for opening times and exhibitions.

Fulham Palace Tick ALL The Boxes! It is very close to all transport links, just at the edge of the River Thames and it is gorgeus! Amazing London venue for any celebration, especially a wedding. All from the staff, the estate, facilities and the food - can't recommend enough. We are very happy that we are back at this very twice this year. Thank you!

I went to Fulham Palace in Bishops Park for a 'Jazz on the Lawn' event organised by the 606 Club. Even though I worked less than 2 miles away the park for 13 years, I'd never been to the park or palace before and was stunned by the serene beauty of the park and the palace with its rich red brick buildings in the evening sunlight was completely unexpected. I will visit again one afternoon and explore the park more - gig was excellent by the way with interesting beers from the Studio brewery complemented by tasty pies & fries from a neighbouring stall.

What a wonderful place to visit. The paintings on the wall and the history was mental to see. We ate here for a dinner and the food was amazing. I would love to visit here in the summer. Thanks for a great evening. Definitely recommend.

As a wedding photographer who recently had the pleasure of working at Fulham Palace, I must say that this venue truly surpassed all expectations. Being a historic gem nestled in the heart of London, Fulham Palace exudes an enchanting charm that instantly captivates guests. The riverside location adds an extra touch of magic, providing a picturesque backdrop for couples' most precious moments. The gardens surrounding the venue are a photographer's dream, offering a myriad of stunning natural settings to capture timeless memories. David Bige Photography

Great option for a Saturday or Sunday. Not too packed, a bit hidden but well worth the visit. It's free but they accept donations of course. Also, the palace and the gardens are not too big, can be walked through and completed easily even within an hour but it's highly recommended to experience the atmosphere to the fullest and try a cup of coffee or tea for example while enjoying these historical walls and ceilings or the outside terrace in case it's sunny out there. Friendly and very careful staff during COVID times and good service. Highly recommended.

We walked around the grounds and garden, which in summer... The walled garden must be gorgeous. Will go back to wander in the house.... We did go in the cafe for a hot chocolate, which was amazing and in really nice cozy surroundings!

The cafe was so nice that I worked there for several hours. The gardens were lovely, and the old church and overgrown graveyard nextdoor are well worth a walk too. Sad to see the invasive box tree moth devastating the old boxwood tree here, but a good educational site!

For a free palace and gardens to visit this is really good visit. The gardens are lovely in spring and summer and there are lots or picnic spots too. The palace isn't much but the chapel and library are impressive and the staff are there answering all the questions I had.

We spent an enjoyable few hours exploring the walled garden, extensive lawns around the palace, a stroll through the palace rooms with its fascinating history & artefacts. There is a delightful cafe with inside seating for cold days & glorious outside seating for sunny days. Extend your visit by walking along The Thames to pretty Bishops Park.

These gardens are absolutely stunning! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Titania’s Dream - Fulham Palace Gardens 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Today Felipe and I headed to our second weekend exploration, this time is the nearby Fulham Palace Gardens, so close to our home. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Our walk today took us in to a fairy-tale journey through the “enchanted woods” of these gardens in search for hidden fairies, those mystic creatures, perhaps left behind from the legends of the Celts, Romans, Vikings or many of other migrant cultures in England, nevertheless we seem to be chasing them today: Titania’s Dream. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Titania’s Dream is an alfresco, interactive, theatrical experience inspired by Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿We found ourselves in a forest inhabited by fairies through a 50-minutes guided experience in this spectacular natural landscape. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿At times during the experience, we left the paved path and walked on grass amongst the great variety of plants and vegetation. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿London experiences are everywhere, this city never ceases to captivate me. Loved it.

Compared to Bishop's park "the palace" is much more subdued, and a quiet spot nearby. Nice gardens as well. I'd be interested to revisit when I can check out the palace.

  • 4/5 Albert L. 3 years ago on Google
This is great place for all age groups. The Palace itself is improving all the time. A bit of History and play space you can even get a bite to eat. Adjacent is the park and maybe the 4 star reflects the usual issues of capital costs and income expenses. This is where e.g. A thermostat really needs replacing or water taps need to reduce volumes both would save money and give good service. The maintenance crew are great keep well and stay safe.

Fulham Palace and grounds ( Home to the Bishops of London from AD 710 to AD 1973 ! ) and like a mini Hampton Court with its Tudor quadrangle and Georgian extension housing the currently closed cafe ( BUT refreshments were still available from the mobile USA style trailer run by very nice people and they do huge bacon sandwiches ) then the grounds are a horticultural gem due to various Bishops asking for interesting plants shrubs etc. to be brought back from foreign lands....leaving an incredible legacy but now a shadow of its former self in the gardens .....

The museum is closed at the moment due to the pandemic but had some lunch and a nice wonder around the grounds and delightful walled garden. We paid ba small donation to enter the walled garden area but the rest of the grounds are free... The flowers were in glorious full bloom and we had fun spotting the vegetables such as marrow and squash. There is a bit of a natural playground space for children, lots of space and grass to meet friends and chat outside. There may be another playground too but we didn't go there. I was also interested to see a pizza can doing wood fired pizza in the grounds too - if we hadn't have brought our lunch with us it might have been really tempting. There are some nice wood carvings towards the parking area. It was good to see that the toilets are open. Next door is Bishops park with a bigger play area for children, lake, tennis courts and cafe.

Great park surrounding the Palace which sadly was closed when we arrived... worth a visit though just to see the building, its proximity to the Thames and being able to walk to it from Hammersmith made for a pleasant day... 4 stars as not seen inside to comment further

Country atmosphere in centre of town. Friendly volunteers. Good unusual cafe in very nice setting. Walled garden and rose garden aside the Thames. Wonderful. Revisit a month ago; nice carrot cake but smallest lemon drizzle ever seen about 2 x 2 inches but both cost almost 3gbp. A bit mean?

Beautiful spot for a walk, picnic and relaxing time either in the palace park amongst the Plane trees or by the fountain or in the Palace grounds. We paid £2 each to picnic in the floral gardens lined with stunning fruit trees, bright coloured flowers and styled hedges. A peaceful and pretty place, highly recommended.

Beautiful! Wasn't able to enter due to current Covid restrictions but the external was stunning. Tudor and Georgian sections reminiscent of Hampton Court Palace. History buffs get a two era for one deal!

  • 4/5 Richard T. 2 years ago on Google
Really enjoyed walking through the walled garden, enjoying the best of the November morning sunshine first. Beyond the walled garden lie an impressive mix of large evergreen and deciduous trees, clearly 100 if not 200 years old. The Palace is part open to visitors, many of the rooms bearing the hallmarks and trappings of former Bishops of London. Although some of the rooms remain a little sparsely furnished, it is to be hoped that the custodians will be able to furnish them more extensively in due course. 5 stars in the waiting...

An excellent day wandering around Fulham Palace. They have a large number of interactive and immersive features which includes videos. The staff also share their knowledge and expertise in a number of the rooms on show. The Library is highly recommended in this respect. The Palace is not large and is in fairly small grounds however the gardens are to be admired. They gave a number of Greenhouses which were unfortunately closed when we visited. An enjoyable and informative 2 hours or so was spent learning and viewing one of the residences of the Bishop of London.
