Whiteleys
is
a
beautifully
designed
shopping
center
located
between
Bayswater
and
Notting
Hill
with
large
hallways,
swirling
staircases
and
a
large
dome
filling
the
space
with
light.
It
has
been
built
in
the
retail
space
of
the
former
William
Whiteley
Limited
department
store,
and
opened
in
1911
as
London's
first
department
store.
However
Whiteleys
is
in
decline
as
a
large
amount
of
the
retail
space
an
shops
are
empty.
The
first
floor
features
a
combination
of
Kurt
Geiger,
ZARA
fashion
discount
stores
and
hairdressers
as
well
as
a
Marks
&
Spencers.
The
second
floor
features
an
H&M,
Body
Shop,
Nine
West,
Sports
Direct
and
Gap.
The
food
options
are
limited
to
a
Pizza
Express,
Costa
Coffee
and
a
few
independent
food
stands.
The
Odeon
Lounge
and
All
Star
Lanes
are
the
constants
that
attract
the
crowds.
The
shopping
centre
is
open
from
8.30AM
to
midnight,
the
stores
are
open
from
10AM
to
8PM.
Whiteleys
is
no
longer
a
shopping
destination
with
ample
selection
like
Westfield
but
a
convinient
location
for
locals,
movie
goers
and
bowling
enthusiasts
looking
for
a
non
crowded
spacious
space.
