I am writing after nearly three taxing years of membership at your Greenwich-based PureGym establishment, during which I've patiently stooped to an increasingly appalling set of conditions, with visits averaging 3-4 times per week. To say your establishment has gone downhill within the year is like saying the Titanic had a minor leak. The standard of upkeep is pitiful, with cracked walls, constant leaks, broken water fountains, and an overall deplorable level of hygiene that beggars belief, especially in the shower facilities. Cold water and mould appear to be the accepting norms, rather than the exception, with half the showers out of service at any one time. Despite the cheap membership fee, currently standing at £25.99 but soon to add insult to injury with an increase to £27.99, one always hopes for a basic level of service and cleanliness. Bitterly, I find the current standards to be deeply disappointing and frankly always a hindrance to my exercise regime. In the simplest of terms, I wouldn't recommend this gym to my worst enemy. The only reason I continue is due to lack of options. For the sake of absolute clarity - I'm not penning this diatribe for my own amusement or benefit. I'm doing it for the sake of all members who deserve better.

There is a wide range of gym equipment here for use by all ages and experience. There are personal trainers that work here which can guide you for extra fees. There are vending machines and toilets here. It is very clean and everything is put back in its place. Parking is limited because it's London but if you take the tube and walk here it is very cheap.

Great place to workout. The PTs are very friendly and the managers are always willing to help. First review above was 2 years ago and is still true regarding the PTs (5 stars for them); however, the physical environment is a mess! As of yesterday, it was more like working out in a crime scene. Numerous buckets catching leaks from pipework, hazard tape everywhere, faulty lighting and the sewage-like smell. This has been the case for months. Now the cleaning station has been removed. It's a disgrace! Fix up Puregym. Your loyal members deserve better.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my membership because of the unbearable smell on the stairs/2nd floor. Every time I visited the gym the smell just made everything feel filthy and disgusting. The other issue is not having enough space for regular exercises or stretching, many machines are broken down/out of order. The place is just alway overcrowded, long waits for machines and equipments.

Staff is friendly and overcrowding isn't really a problem as is with other puregyms such as Bermondsey, the big issue for this one is that there seems to be a refusal to update or even fix machines. A machine has been broken coming up to three weeks now, 2 out of 3 of the cable machines are rusted to the point where certain movements are near impossible, also, some of the attachments for the cable machines have gone missing or are in disrepair, mainly the singular straight bar that remains which has had it's grips removed for some reason. I don't know if it's lack of funding for management or some other reason, but its silly to be paying £35 a month for this, especially since the other gym I use in my uni town has their problems sorted within three days.

So far I've had good experience here. I feel that the price is average for the area but there are more expensive membership types to chose from. The changing rooms and showers are always clean and the equipment is well maintained. There are definitely a lot more men than women at the times that I go, however I always feel safe. It would be nice if the staff made sure that the weights were in the right places on the racks as it's sometimes hard to find a pair.

This gym is so dirty. The second floor’s area where the treadmills are is covered in dust. Every single window has spider webs. No one has cleaned it in months or even years. So much money per month for this. Not recommended.

It's an ok gym. I've been using it for approx 1 year - it's definitely best to go before or after peak times. It's not the cleanest, you can kind of feel how dirty equipment is, usually I visited at 5:30am and there were no signs of anything having been cleaned or put back properly - it certainly didn't adhere to Covid regulations when it was at it's peak. Most staff are friendly but quite loud/disruptive sometimes. If you can look past these things, it isn't too bad.

I love this gym because is the gym I go to. HOWEVER, the hygiene of this particular gym is very much below average. I know they clean because I see the cleaners all the time but they’re job…very very poor in particular the women’s toilet 🤮 otherwise is fine. But it definitely affects your experience when you are trying to go to the gym to improve yourself and you see the lack of cleanliness at the toilet

The timing of a class is exactly when people finish work so I made an effort to leave work earlier but was slightly late to the class. The instructor was tight and gave no leeway. Now before anyone mentions the policy about missing warm up. PureGym has that as a failsafe policy for injuries and also not all instructors follow this disciplinarian policy. I ensured the instructor that I had rushed here by bike and I was warmed up. To no avail. Fine, I understand it's their discretion. The policy could also be a more flexible that informs members that participation is at their own risk. But perhaps the schedule is to blame? I considered to use the gym anyway but I found no lockers. People leaving their belongings in unlocked lockers is also frustrating, giving a false sense of availability. I then considered having my bag with me but just decided to go home. The overall experience after a few months hiatus reinforced to me the unwelcoming experience that can be had at these gyms. There used to be good management here but I discovered that the guy who used to be here is now gone. I know gyms get busy after work but it doesn't seem this place makes the effort nowadays.

I’ve been coming to this gym for a couple of years and the equipment and general maintenance has always been a big problem here. The benches are EXTREMELY unstable and it’s only a matter of time before someone seriously hurts themselves on them. I’ve been to dozens of pure gyms across the country and this pure gym seems to be the only one with this type of unsafe wobbly bench. The downstairs flooring is also a mess, it’s had caution tape scattered around it for months (maybe even a year) - preventing anyone from working out on a big chunk of floor space which is particularly irritating during busy periods of the day. There also consistently seems to be broken gym equipment, issues with water fountains and leaking ceilings which is understandable at a busy gym. But it’s the speed at which things get fixed which is really disappointing with most issues going on for months before they’re rectified. The extra star is for the staff that are friendly and approachable, otherwise it would be a big fat one star. Please PureGym, sort it out.

One of the better PureGyms! Such a huge space with all the equipment you need for a solid workout. You can also get a bench, barbell etc. Having said this, I don't really go during peak times so I can't say much on the front! However, during the weekend, it is HOT. I'm not too sure if the heating is left on or what.. But really bad temperature management. Also, sometimes there is no music so it is just silent.. Which is a weird vibe for a gym! Lastly, your phone will have zero signal in this gym, expect no internet unless you go towards the windows lol

UPDATE: AFTER I LEFT 3* REVIEW AND COMPLAINED ABOUT CLEANING, I'VE NOTICED THE NEXT DAY, WAS ALL CLEANED. WELL DONE! 🥳 It's is not as igienic as should. On women 🚺 toilet it's a blood stain, (see pic attached), from over 2-3 months. The entrance security code, are a quite dirty (see pic attached) And unfortunately for an reason, all the time it is a list one bucket collecting water from leaking spots. Overall its a good gym and well equipped.

Again, tried to use the shower facilities this morning but they’re freezing cold! There has been no hot water for months but you charge nearly £40 a month! There is equipment out of use for weeks on end, there are holes in the walls and the facilities just dirty but nothing is done about it! It’s just lazy and disappointing. No one responds to emails either so nothing can be resolved. Definitely not recommending Greenwich anymore.

This is a great gym. The staff and PTs are really friendly. I always feel safe and welcome. I reported a couple of problems to the manager over the last few months and they got sorted out straight away. I have used many gyms in my life; PureGym in Greenwich has helped me lose 14kg over the last few months. I’ve never had results like that before.

Its a good gym overall. Was disappointed that it did not have a filling station for bottles of water. This is a important matter when training. Secondly the showers dont have an adjustment for heat its either warm or really hot. These are bad sides. The good sides are that it has a good variety of gym equipment.

This is a good gym with a large amount of equipment however, the smell in this gym is a constant issue for me. As soon as i enter, I get a whiff of dampness, and sewage from the water pipes (especially on the second floor). Furthermore, it does not help when other people are sweating from their exercises and the each floors get even hotter and smellier. There is minimal ventilation and this should be something that is worked on. I’m currently contemplating to move to a different gym.

Today was my first day at this gym, it was really nice, clean, a lot of equipments, the people there are very friendly. My only complaint is about the showers, too little water, it takes ages to take a proper shower, I definitely wouldn't mind paying more for a better shower service, and more benches would be nice.

My gym!!. I love this gym, it has as near enough of everything you need to complete a great workout. Some staffs are nice, some are stuck up, but you get a good time and workout everytime you go in there. The only downside is that they have no accessibility for parking cars. I wish I could drive to the gym on some gloomy days

A large gym, which is a positive, numerous power racks, a decent leg area and a good selection of cam machines. Unfortunately every cable machine was missing a carabiner, leaving certain pieces unusable entirely (suggest a zip-tie to keep them from being lost/misplaced). The dumbbell stack lacked capacity at the higher weights, no decline olympic bench and too many smith machines.

Been going to this gym 5+ years now alternating with gyms closer to home, only come to this gym when doing a serious sesh, some things they can update on are the equipment some of the stuff are quited dated compared to their other gyms that I've visited but other than that no problem

Studio musics are extremely loud! If there’s a studio class during the day, it’s impossible to focus on the training. Even with a headphone; i cant hear my Spotify music. Men toilets are complete mess.

Great gym. Not my usual gym, but used it as I had a bit of spare time at work. Plenty of equipment, every machine I could want, and not busy at all. But saying that, it was mid morning. So, not sure how busy it is at other times. But, for my experience, it’s 5 stars all day.

Nice gym, but some of the PTs really need to look at people's form and help them out. Some real back breakers in here. Watching one guy right now do bent over rows throwing the weight around, with his spine in a C shape about to snap and the PT is just watching him... Crazy.

Decent for a puregym, obviously gets busy at peak times but it’s layout makes it fairly manageable. Compared to other puregyms I’ve visited this one is up there. Though vending machines were out of service for a long time and not fixed.

This is one of the best puregym’s I’ve been to in London. Very spacious, loads of equipment, almost always clean and organized.

I enjoy Training at this gyms a lot and particularly the gym in high Road because of how hands on the management team is, whenever I’ve had a concern with other members or training methods the PT team has shown positive attitude and helped me out. I also feel very motivated training here because of the high energy the rest of the individuals around the club generally. I will definitely recommend this gym any one experienced or advanced in their training.

A fantastic gym which I look forward to attending. Having been going for 2 months now I can say it's a friendly place - lots and lots of benches and free weights so I don't struggle to find a spot however I do go in the mornings because from what I see it's twice as crowded in the evenings. Staff and other members are friendly. App is great, records your visits and helps you check in, the sports water is delicious and in my opinion worth the extra charge. Only criticism is one of the cable machines has been out of order the whole time I've been coming, would be nice to have it available since the others are often taken.

Come rain, come shine, you'll find me here at least three times a week. I don't know what to say; it's a gym, it's open 24 hours, seven days a week and has all the facilities required to bless your body with the gains it deserves😎
