Over the past two months I've stayed a total of 12 days at this hotel. The last trip was over Christmas with the family in two rooms. The Hotel is located on the NW corner of Hyde Park in a nice neighborhood. It is close to 3 tube stations/lines and a little over a mile to Paddington station and a very nice walk to the everything else. We used the tube, rail extensively and still managed to enjoy walking over 70 miles over the course of our 6 day visit. The Hotel/Restaurant staff is wonderful. Welcoming, warm and kind, you can't ask for better. The buffet style breakfast they offered was very good. The Hotel is clean and well kept. The queen rooms, while smaller, were updated, clean and very comfortable for two people.

Very disappointed in the quality and service at this Hilton property. A Hilton agent booked our rooms incorrectly, and when we checked in the front desk attendant proceeded to argue with us for close to an hour about the issue. We had five people, with room for only four, to no fault of our own. The attendant kept repeating that she could “print our confirmation for us,” rather than work on a solution. She told me repeatedly that she didn’t make the error… and we had to continue to remind her during the conversation that it is her position to find a solution to the issue. Her response “we can’t move someone else from their booking” and “let me print your confirmation.” It was frustrating and frankly inhospitable behavior from a hotel employee. The error, no fault of ours, was that a larger room was supposed to be booked, but wasn’t. Rather than correcting the issue or finding a reasonable solution, we were forced to pay for another room at considerable cost. We had to foot the bill for Hilton’s error and one of our family ended up having to sleep alone as a result. Not a warm welcome to London or the family vacation we had planned and saved for... The added bonus? There was dried snot smeared on the bed frame of our room. Overall poor customer service, cleanliness, and general experience at the Hilton.

It is now past midnight March 19 and the rooms next to me were still making noises since they checked in at around 4pm. I had called the front desk to bring the matter to their attention, and had gone down to the front deck to complain, but nothing was done to address the issue. Worst still, the manager on duty - on the evening of March 18 - refused to change room for me even when I offered. He showed absolutely no care to customer satisfaction, did not apologize for the disturbance, and claimed that the hotel was full. I checked on the Hilton website and it clearly showed that multiple room types were available that night - I am happy to provide screenshots. Also, this manager said that the hotel had upgraded me to king-size bed, which sounded like a big favour. However, the Hilton website clearly shows that the price difference is only 4 pounds! He made it sounds like those 4 pounds are such a BIG gesture to me as a Hilton Diamond member. Overall, this manager on duty is a big disappointment. No willing to help, no empathy to customer satisfaction, no commitment to hotel quality, and really lacking in people skills.

Best hotel I’ve stayed at in London! Lovely room couldn’t fault it. The breakfast is what made the stay so enjoyable. If you decide to stay here definitely pay for the breakfast you won’t be disappointed. Food is constantly replenished, of really good standard and lots of choice! Setting is so lovely and peaceful and staff were lovely. A lovely stay, I hope to be back soon! What a lovely gem of a hotel!

Guest services were great, very friendly and "helpful". HOWEVER the rooms are ULTRA small even for London standards, I had less than 1 foot around my bed, no place that my bag would fit, the chair didn't have enough space to pull out from under the desk. I'm a Diamong, asked for an upgrade, was told that they were full, BUT online the larger rooms were available. Hilton is always VERY stingy with their upgrades. They finally moved me to a "bigger" room, that had a couple more inches at the bottom of the bed, at least now I could pull out the chair to work on my computer at the desk. NOT Worth it.

Not a 4 star hotel We got a room with a broken bathroom fan which made the air really stuffy in our room. The stuff air gave me a panic attack as you are not able to open the windows even the slightest. We wanted to upgrade to a room with a balcony (to be able to get some fresh air in) but there was no availability. From the staff at the reception there was no initiative to find a solution, even though I was obviously struggling with the situation. After insisting hard enough that I couldn’t stay there they finally came to check the fan, just to realise it was definitely broken (yeah, we had been saying that...) they gave us a new room with a working fan which was slightly better and I was able to keep the anxiety at bay. Nevertheless, the air still was of really bad quality in the room, dry and stuffy. I got sick with a bad cold (not Covid!) after staying for 3 nights which I believe was due to the miserable air quality in the room even with a working bathroom fan. On the plus side, the location is very central and the bed is huge and comfy. As for the reception, it really depends who you're dealing with, when we checked in we were greeted by a really friendly guy originally from Iran, unfortunately he wasn't there later to help with the broken fan as the shift had changed. Another side note: the hair dryer was also broken, it even had a sticker on it saying: "security check failed"... questionable why it was even in our room when it was labelled as broken.

Worst hotel ever. I could hear next room talking, people opening they door next to my room. I stayed there for 6 nights in a room at street level and cannot open the windows. The service was poor, staff was inexperienced and not helpful. I asked for toilet roll as they did not service my room one day and they failed to bring it. The shower was hot and cold and almost burn my skin. Room is dated and small, nothing like the website. I have been to London many times and have never stayed in a hotel this bad and it really tarnish the Hilton branding.

Loved the location, the staff were exceptional. Very friendly, helpful, jovial and even offered us cookies! Will definitely stay again. Even with a full house they let me have a 1 hour late checkout. Very good experience

Not at all worth the cost- the rooms were extremely tiny and poorly kept. Even after the housekeeping service next morning, the used tea n sugar sachets were not cleared out, water bottles were not replaced, used tea cups were not replaced. They provided two 300ml water cans and upon asking for more, they kept resisting by saying we have already provided water. I literally had to keep asking for drinking water throughout the day, not sure how 300ml is enough for a whole day. Had to call them up multiple times for basic requests like fresh tea cups, water etc. the service was extremely slow and poor.

We are a couple and we stayed at the Doubletree Hyde Park grow a couple of nights. Upon arrival, during the check in, we were offered complimentary warm cookies, which were a very nice welcome, and the staff was very friendly. We were also notified that the hotel is fully booked, so we have been upgraded to a room with a king size bed. The hotel seems a bit old, one of the elevators was broken some of the time, and the room itself was pretty basic. We were glad to discover a couple of European electric sockets, in addition to the standard British ones. However, we were disappointed to find that the water current isn’t very strong, the shower drained pretty slowly during the shower, which can’t be closed all the way, so we had to be careful during the shower and keep making sure we’re not getting the floor all wet, which was damn near impossible, none of the room windows open, not even slightly (it’s like that in the entire hotel, it seems like the building used to house offices before it became a hotel, so this makes sense). Furthermore, the blackout curtains weren’t long enough to completely block the light in the morning and a foul smell kept coming out of the shower/bathroom. Since we couldn’t stand the smell and the hotel maintenance weren’t able to solve the problem, we were transferred to another room, but it had twin beds, which was uncomfortable for our needs. However, the curtains in this room made a much better job blocking the light from outside in the morning. To sum it up, this hotel is much more suitable for short business trips, and less for couples and families on vacation.

the price was fine for the location. There is a downstairs bar area, it was very quiet in the evening. Unfortunately, some of my personal belongings went missing after I left them in the seating area outside, I was then told by staff that thefts are extremely common. it would have been useful to have known this beforehand!

Great hotel, with amazing staff. The rooms are nice, clean and looking good. The bathroom is extremely small, and that is one of the only downsides of this hotel. I needed to bow during showering, and the toilet is made for children, so small. The other thing that we missed in our room was a place to hang your coat, other than inside the closet. The location of the hotel is great! Multiple underground stations nearby, and Hyde Parc literally across the road. And the staff is really great! They were all so nice and kind! We had a question about the ac, and once we fixed it ourself, they still sent someone to our room to check if everything was alright. Checkout times are at 12.00, which is very comfortable too. The concierge always made us smile, and gave good advice. And the cookies at the reception are delicious! The restaurant that's located underneath the hotel is not great at all. Breakfast is okay, but for diner I highly recommend to eat elsewhere, as it is just not very good or enjoyable...

I had a very unfortunate experience during my stay at this hotel when a hot water pipe burst, flooding my room and turning it into a sauna. My laptop, computer, and belongings suffered water damage. Despite reaching out to the hotel, they have NOT compensated me for my damaged items, where now I have to replace my iPad and computer out of pocket. The lack of communication and assistance, especially from their insurance company and the GM Benny, has left me disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel due to their poor handling of such incidents and lack of customer support. UPDATED reply: the insurance company has NOT contacted me, although the GM said they have. My belongings were damaged and as I stated the “lack” of communication still persists.

Rooms are compact (read: small; very functional), noise insulation of the rooms is very poor (both outside noise as neighbours in bathroom and bed are very well noticeable and bedtime activities clearly enjoyed), breakfast is good. Didn't use the bar.

The room was a bit on the small side with a view over the car park, but it was clean. However the heating appeared to be broken with little to no heat coming out of it. It also said the filter needed changing?! The coffee machine in the room seemed to be a gimmick - made a lot of noise, tepid muddy coffee. The breakfast was brilliant though with a good range and excellent quality. We have stayed at other Doubletrees and been much more impressed. Definitely more 3 than 4 star.

Fabulous stay. I have stayed in many Hilton’s. So I know what to expect from the Hilton in what country and what the facilities are generally. Especially in the United Kingdom. This property from Hilton is quite close to the Hyde Park. Such that we went for walks to the Hyde Park which was lovely. We stayed here during a very important part of our lives and the little staff looked after us during this critical moment in our life. Parking was not an issue. The total staff was very caring and had an air for our needs. I’m glad to have been associated with this brand and to be staying with him for a large portion of my life. Such that they have never let me down. Thank you Hilton.

We love staying here. Although the rooms a a bit tight the location makes up for it. Totally recommended. Staff are amazing and nothing went unnoticed.

Hotel is in a great location for exploring nearby Hyde Park and Kensington Palace Gardens. Staff were outstanding and always happy to help. Room was clean and spacious. Only real downside is the lifts are very small and covered in a protective curtain which makes them difficult to use with luggage. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

From check-in to check-out my experience was nothing less than perfect. I was welcomed with warm, smiley staff who were efficient, polite and accommodating. The room was well presented, tidy and well equipped. The air-conditioning was a brilliant welcome that was well needed. The housemaid was so helpful, flexible and did a stunning job. Breakfast was of a good standard which helped start the day!! Location is brilliant for tourists. Thank you fir a lovely stay.

The location is perfect! a stone throw away from Hyde park, an underground and our bus stop back to oxford. The hotel itself is soo clean and fresh, only one down fall is the windows don't open so only rely on air con. personally I like fresh air at night, but I still slept great. the room is perfect has everything I need. such a cute bath room, love the fact I have a fridge, iron board and a coffee machine. staff there very helpful, approachable and they give out Warm bake cookies or your arrival! how can anyone say no!

Very well situated, nice and compact rooms, meets Hilton standards. I wasn't expecting a room with a view, but we got one. The bed was not super comfortable, and bathroom knobs and gadgets were designed to save space which made their accessibility a bit tricky (sink faucet, toilet flush). We walked to the neighboring restaurants and businesses around midnight on a weekday and felt safe enough.

Had to switch rooms due to a slow shower drain and sewage smell coming from bathroom. The staff was very accommodating and the second room was better. Restaurant staff was also excellent. But overall, for the price, it is not as nice as I would expect.

Everything is spotless. We booked a Queen's room, those are really small, possibly one of the smallest I've been in my entire life. We were outside the whole day so it didn't bother us too much. Good bed though. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. Friendly staff.

Be careful if you visit here. I was pickpocketed in the restaurant. Thieves stole my purse and mobile. Anyone I guess can stop and eat in the Dining room, as they the pickpockets were not registered guests! We were told that the main manager, Ben , would want to speak to us. We tried several times to connect with him all week, and were given the times he would be available. Rearranged our touring and when we asked to see him, he was never available or not there when we were told he would be. This happened about 4 times. Last day before check out , we were told at 9 am he would be available at 1030, so we waited and at 1030 , were told he would not be available to speak with us. Unacceptable !! Some security measures should take place before you enter the restaurant. Our card keys never worked and we had to get new ones twice a day. Seemed short staffed in the restaurant also.

The location is great. Near two tube stations and right by the park. The front desk employees are amazing. The cleaning staff goes above and beyond. Everything was perfect and we are so glad we picked this place. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are nice. The restaurant in the hotel was delicious.

I really enjoyed our stay here. We loved being so close to Hyde Park and having easy access to the tube. It was nice and quiet at night. Would recommend this location.

Upgraded to a larger room for a small fee. Good service. Walls tad thin but the room itself was a decent size. Breakfast was alright could have done with slightly more vegan options but everything was mostly well labelled. Good location for Hyde Park and being away from busier parts of London.

  • 3/5 Emran H. 1 year ago on Google
Positives: Location is great, the area is alive and busy (but not too noisy). Staff are super friendly and helpful. Food is really great, Breakfast has many options and wide selection. Negatives: Rooms are not that clean, dust is everywhere. We couldn’t use any of the towels from all the dust in the bathroom cupboards. Air condition duct is full of dust and debris of all kinds. The hotel needs to be seriously washed from the inside out.

I’ve stayed here with the family of 5 rooms for 4 nights which everything was great. The location was good and ease to find. The environment was nice and warm. Only the staffs at reception counter should be more friendly with the guest, please improve on this. Everything was satisfying and may come to here again soon. Really recommended to stay here!

It was a fairly decent stay. Staff was nice. Room was small, but clean and this was my first time in the UK, so I’m only able to compare its size to the States. Hyde park is right across the street and that was wonderful.

  • 4/5 K 1 year ago on Google
Stunning location! A block from two different subway stations which allow access to three different lines (central line, district line, circle line ). It is also right next to Kensington palace, Hyde park, and walking distance to a number of other attractions. The room was very nice, although the sides of the bathtub were very tall and a bit dangerous to get out of. We had housekeeping two times during our stay. One was done very well, with replacement of toiletries, towels, etc. the other time was very poorly done - the bed was made and towels replaced, but no replacement for shampoo/conditioner or even coffee. Neither time was the coffee cup or glasses in the washroom replaced. Overall perfect location, good room, but housekeeping left a bit to be desired. Would absolutely stay again the next time I’m in London.
