I work in the industry, therefore I will keep myself from over elaborating this review and keep it as much helpful and genuine as possible. Went to Din Tai Fung for a takeaway after work, it was actually recommended to me by some guests and I was really looking forward to it. I order with a very well mannered waiter/manager in a suit, waiting time for my order is also pretty good considering I was served in 20min. 2 things to mention, their website adversities that the restaurant closes at 11pm and I was initially told the kitchen was closed, now I entered the building at 10.15pm and I understand that in some place the kitchen does last orders 30min before closing, but I feel 45min it is too much and therefore timing should be updated. After ordering I was refused a drink at the bar while I had to wait for my food to be ready (10.20pm), and it doesn’t matter since I eventually got my food. I cycle 10min to get home and I was shocked when unpacking my food. I ordered pork chop and noodle is house sauce, honey and vinegar ribs, beans with shrimps and chili crab dim sum. I have to admit that the dim sum was delicious as well as the green beans, but the ribs were very small and had a very small amount of meat if none attached to it, very small portion for £8. The biggest disappointment come with the noodles and pork chop, portion wise since it comes at £14.80 and quality of mainly the noodles, I believe there is nothing to add since the picture will speak for itself. So overall massively disappointed for the portion and quality of the food received, I’m not sure of portions are super small on takeaways only but it wasn’t nothing close to the pictures. I spent over £30 and feel ripped off

This place is just fantastic!! The restaurant is very spacious (there are 2 floors), a very nice counter-bar for drinks while you wait for your table. Part of the kitchen is displayed, so you can see the kitchen staff making the dumplings! The service was quite fast despite the restaurant being full! All the staff that served us was very gentle and took great care of us. However, what I enjoyed the most was the quality of the food. All the served dishes were delicious and they really brought me back to Taiwan! I can't recommend this place enough. I can't wait to come again.

This restaurant has branches in Hong Kong, California and Canada. I've tried them all, and the quality and the menu selection vary. This restaurant the food was good but pricey. The famous Xiao Long Bao are small, as I recalled used to be larger. The mushrooms with truffle ones which I would recommend. There's ample seating on two floors, but we were seated near the entrance and we were cold with people coming in and out of the restaurant. We were also told we only have one hour to eat!

I’ve travelled China for a month, and out of all the Chinese places or takeaways I’ve tried, this is most authentic. The green beans were nostalgic and I’d suggest getting these! But the dumplings! Delish! Talking of nostalgic, I even got a Shirley temple to drink! Loved that!! Service was pretty poor however although I appreciate it’s a ginormous restaurant. Loved the window where you can watch the chefs!!

This was an exciting surprise. We loved the one in Las Vegas and had to go while here in London. It did not disappoint. They have the absolute best pork soup dumplings ever (Pork Xiao Long Bao). We had dinner reservations so merely stopped by for the dim sum and left so very happy. Din Tai Fung is the dim sum king.

Is it worth the hype? Yes. Would I dine there again? Probably not… This is one of the most famous restaurants in Taiwan making dumplings, if you have ever visited Taiwan your friend or colleague would probably take you there. I have to say the quality and freshness of the dishes are just great, very pure and flavorful without overcompensating with other spices and sauces. The famous dumpling are juicy and delicate. Like in Taiwan Din Tai Fung is for tourists that want to experience the culture, the truth is that it is overpriced and the portion is very small. With three adults and one toddler we spent over 130 pounds… it’s quite outrageous… The service is good though.

Good Chinese food served here. As a vegetarian, I was looking forward to eating the vegetarian dumplings, but they have peanuts in them, and I’m allergic. My friend said the noodles and 小籠包 were good. And the 流沙包 was really hot at first, but it tasted amazing.

Everything went smoothly at my service: from the welcoming at the entrance, seating to my table & ordering. The space is spacious, and the decoration combines traditional and modern details. The food is the best that I’ve ever tasted (compared to European cities, since I haven’t visited Asia enough). 🥢 All the dishes I ordered were delicious: xiaolongbao pork & chili crab, crispy prawn pancake, beef noodles, prawn fried rice, and the egg custard. The key here is their techniques: subtle flavors, dishes seem fat but no, I find it so light but still very flavorful. I heard people complaining about the portion, I wouldn't argue if I look at the quality of the ingredients! (Seriously the rice in the fried rice... still dreamed about its texture 😇) 💶 The prices were higher than other Chinatown restaurants, but can’t be compared to this level of food, settings & service: we were 3 adults + a child, the bill was 120£ (3 soft drinks included); which is very correct for me. 🔎In short, an address not to miss when visiting London! Reservation is recommended, at least 2-3 weeks in advance if you aim for the weekends.

Came here for the famous soup dumplings. The Truffle ones were great the pork ones were good. Chicken buns are just regular. For dessert we ordered the moon dumplings with taro, egg yolk and another flavor I can't remember. Honestly I was not a fan of them. Highlight: you see all the cooks making the dumplings. Impressive. Nevertheless, the price for the portions you get are a little high. £15 for ten small dumplings that should be an appetizer, not sure it's worth it. Paid £70 and we're still hungry.

We had a great dinner time here. You must try dim sum stuff 👍 they made themselves. Very fresh and tasty 😋 recommend order one noodle per person and share the dimsum and side vegetables. We spent around £100 for all the dishes from the photos. The staff are friendly, our baby was sleeping on buggy, so not sure for high chair options. They have baby changing. Excellent food and services. We didn’t book waiting time was 5min weekdays around 5-5:30pm

Had an excellent experience here. Everything feels very clean and hygienic - and all the staff wear face masks, including the chefs preparing the buns and dim sum. We ordered a range of dumplings, buns and vegetable dishes and left feeling very stuffed! There is plenty of seating including a large area downstairs, but there is always a long queue outside, so booking most definitely recommended. Our bill came to £85 for two, including two very good cocktails, which was very good value. Staff were very efficient.

Super delicious food, the soup dumplings are addictive and definitely the best I've tried so far in London however the service is quite slow. Often had to ask for menus and to order from several different serving staff a few times and had to keep following up my order. Despite this I would return as the food was so tasty.

The food is very nice, authentic and delicious. It’s a nice restaurant to experience “real” Chinese food. However, the price is overcharged. The portion is too small. Two girls ordered 4 dishes and were not even 50% full but it costs 55 pounds at the end. There’s nothing to pick on services and environment, they are absolutely lovely. I’ll recommend to visit here once but I won’t come visit again due to the price and portion.

The food honestly incredible. When I tell you that we were emotional about it, I’m not lying. It was an experience. I highly recommend the Mushroom and Edamame Noodles. The Shiitake Mushrooms were heavenly!! The atmosphere of the restaurant is also amazing, it looks authentic and the servers make it even better. Everything seems so well organised that you just cannot not appreciate it. The prices, for the location of the restaurant, are amazing. We had a meal two for £50 which for central London standards is honestly rare. Definitely recommend!!

Service: excellent. We had a waiter with an Italian (?) accent who was very friendly and attentive. Food: I expected more, but it was alright. The custard buns were very creamy, the other two steamed items were very mildly flavoured. The mushroom fried rice was quite disappointing- it tasted like oil and barely cooked onions. The broccoli and shrimp were great. A bit of a mixed bag, but I had higher expectations for the price. I am torn between a 4 and a 5 but will give them the benefit of the doubt and round up

Loved the atmosphere in this restaurant. Fascinating to see the food being prepared. The staff were helpful in explaining what everything was and giving their recommendations. The food was absolutely delicious, the dumplings full of flavour and the garlic green beans cooked to perfection. All topped off with a speciality cocktail - try the Din for a strawberry delight!

What a beautiful place. The food is incredible I think it is the best egg fried rice I've ever had! The spinach what a delight, the noodles delicious and the attention to details is remarkable. The atmosphere and staff are amazing. Great place to eat!

After a detour at Milroys, we finally headed straight to Din Tai Fung. We didn’t make any reservations in advance; luckily, we were told that if we were able to finish our meal within an hour, we could get a table. The menu offers the same items as Din Tai Fung elsewhere. It’s akin to an upscale McDonald’s. We quickly placed our order for the iconic Xiao Long Bao (XLB), along with the steamed jiaozi and wonton. My personal favorite was the stir-fried pea shoots with shrimp. This dish struck a perfect balance between the crisp, fresh greens and the succulent shrimp, all enhanced by the aromatic touch of garlic. It was a symphony of flavors that danced on the palate. A hidden gem on the menu was the fried squid. Bursting with flavor, it's worth noting that this delectable dish is exclusively found on their drink menu. The taste was exquisite, leaving us eager to explore more of their offerings. Overall, Din Tai Fung in Covent Garden offers a great dining experience at Ding Tai Fung standard. Ps. Reservations are recommended as when we were finished there was a quite long line during the peak hours.

Amazing Taiwanese food! Service is excellent and the dishes were so delicious! The dan dan noodles have the nicest sauce and you can tell all the dumplings etc are freshly made! They also have a open kitchen so you can watch the chefs use their skills to make the noodles and dumplings!

Our group visited this establishment over the weekend and unfortunately, the reservation was made for the incorrect date. Fortunately, there were tables available during the busy afternoon. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, reminiscent of the Chinese dim sum establishments I encountered during my time in the Philippines. The staff was courteous and attentive throughout our visit, particularly the young lady who served our table. We ordered several dishes, including the renowned Xiao Long Bao, Cucumber with chili sauce, pork fried dumplings, pork chop fried rice, and salted egg bun. The food was served promptly and the majority of the dishes were well-received. The salted egg bun was particularly noteworthy, while the mushroom Xiao Long Bao was slightly dry and the pork chop lacked flavor, although it complemented the chili sauce. The pricing was slightly higher than average, with our group of four incurring a bill of approximately £200. Overall, we had a positive experience and would likely return to sample additional dim sum and noodle dishes.

We went here to celebrate a special occasion and really loved the experience! Our waiter Joe was really wonderful and had some great recommendations for different foods to try. We tried a few different things and really enjoyed it all, especially the pork soup dumplings! The food was really great but was quite overpriced for my liking, especially because the portions are quite small considering how expensive they are - but it was worth going to try it out once and the service was really amazing!

I never get tired of going to this restaurant. For me one of my must in London. All the dishes are spectacular and every time I go I try new ones. The presentation is very nice and the staff is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I did not take a photo of everything we ordered but with these photos you can get an idea.

Came here for dinner with my bro! The food is so comforting, like a hug on a plate wrapped with love and delicious authentic flavours. The pork and crab xiao lung bao glided effortlessly across my palette and the tender pork chop on fried rice was a delight! We even went for a salty lava bun as a pudding and this did not disappoint. 😋 It's busy and I would book if you want to get a date with the bao. I marked 4 stars on service as the main waiter failed to smile for most of the service but the wait for it was very timely.

Better make a reservation otherwise it may be complicated to get a table. Excellent Asian restaurant with a great variety of dishes with very authentic flavour. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is very friendly. It's a great place for a meal with some friends or family.

What a great place this is. The service from Colin was outstanding. we wanted to change a few things to the drinks and menu, and they were happy to do so. We ordered loads of different dishes for us all to try. They didn't bring everything at once. They waited for us to finish our dishes before bringing out more dishes. This place is good value for money, especially being in the heart of London. This is our second time here and won't be our last. You can watch them preparing the steamed buns. I would highly recommend this place if you are in London.

The food was so good, almost the same as what I had in Taiwan. Today, I invited my Italian friend over to celebrate Lunar New Year's Eve. She enjoyed all the food we had today, and we had a great time together:) This really made me proud of my country, Taiwan. I'll definitely bring more of my friends to introduce them to Taiwanese food!
