190 years since the 1st brew, we've the pleasure of tasting the almost perfect Young's Winter Warmer at this almost perfectly warm pub. And then the Young's beer battered cod swims along and melts in your mouth! Magic moments! 🔥

Quite a typical London pub. Always a nice atmosphere and the booths round the back are great if you have a group. Haven't eaten here so can't comment. Pros: Good variety on tap. Cons: Drinks are on the expensive side for its location.

WOW! What a change. This pub is a luxury. It feels so cozy and with a proper old English pub feel. And the new outdoor area really is a welcome addition. Well done to all for an epic upgrade (i really couldn't be bothered with this pub for the last 10 years)

Nice pub with a joyful atmosphere but can be a bit too loud at times. But definitely too pricey for a pub, both beers and food (16£ burger and fries is a joke). Will not come back or only for a coffee.

Nice pub super close to the O2 Shepherds Bush. Can be a bit busy when theres a gig on but clears out pretty quickly. There's a decent selection of beers and plenty of seating.

Celebrated the night of my 43rd birthday at the defectors weld and was pleasantly surprised at how much fun we all had, great staff, fab cocktails and special thanks to the DJ playing on Saturday night for playing Latin tunes and even Salsa as well as the popular party tunes including rnb dance etc thank you this really made our night, will definitely return

Visited the place last Thursday. The place was empty at 4pm so had a chance to occupy large table for an event with the colleagues. The place serves nice passion fruit martini, though without Prosecco. But this minor inconvenience was resolved by ordering Prosecco glass on a side The food was amazing, we only had starters and shared plates, but it was so good I did not get a chance to take photo of shared plates before they were finished !

Superb refurb! Pub looks great, love the new range of beers on and the burgers were ace! A lovely breath of fresh air into one of my favourite pubs in the area!!

Absolutely amazing local pub. The recent refurbishment has given this place an amazing atmosphere, great space and everything is new and clean. Food is 10 out of 10, good selection of dishes…a great take on classic pub food. Price is reasonable for the area and the quality. Really amazing and friendly staff. Super cute beer garden. This is now our favourite local. Highly recommended.

The food is interesting and overall good. The service is uneven and I’ve had bar tenders have to look up recipes several times…and they are slow! But it’s a really good vibe. Music is a bit loud if you want to chat.

So glad Defector’s is back! Can see the new staff are learning and they were all very attentive. Refurb is beautiful, love the new toilets upstairs! Food was great too- we had toad in the hole (amazing) and a black pudding scotch egg and chips. Would love to see some salt and pepper on the table, more napkins (we were only given one napkin for the two of us), and maybe easier crockery to eat out of for the scotch egg (or an offering of a side plate) but apart from that, spot on. Came back with friends later on in the night and stayed til late, and we had a lovely time! Can’t wait to come back soon 🙂

Great beer selection, atmosphere was lovely and chilled until the music got louder. Ordered two dinners: hogget pie was amazing albeit too much salt. Brisket burger was tough, the meat on top was too tough to eat, chips weren't great. Would come back of we were on the area but different time and different meals

Came across this cute place while killing some time and after 38 hours of travelling to London this place was the best place to take a breath and have a drink. Recently done up inside and looks amazing! Food and drinks were awesome too. Would definitely recommend to anybody near in the area.

Love Defector’s Weld. I am obsessed with their renovation. Had food a few times & it is delicious. Best Sunday Roast I have had in a long time.

Booked our Christmas Party here. Table was located in the loudest part of the pub with speakers on high volume from 7.45pm, uncomfortably loud for dinner. We asked for the volume to be turned down and it was (a little) but it was still too loud to have any sort of conversation during dinner. We pre-ordered our food but service was extremely slow. 30 minutes to get a drink, over an hour to get first course, another 45 minutes for mains and then one meal was missed so they ate solo. Food was very nice; tasty & plentiful but for whatever reason the service was just too slow and the positioning of the table for 16 pax terrible. Saw some better spots and suggest moving forward that the area upstairs might work better for eating/group dining. It's Christmas so we paid in full and paid the service charge but if it was any other time of year we would not have.

🚇 Shepherds Bush Market 🍺 £6.00 Estrella ❤️ After doing a bit of Sunday shopping around Westfields Shepherds Bush, I felt the need for a roast dinner. I decided to visit the @defectorsweld , I had visited here years ago prior to seeing Squeeze at the Shepherds Bush Empire and was keen to have another look. This @youngspubs boozer is located on the corner of Shepherds Bush Green and a short walk from Westfields shopping centre. This is a big old boozer and must be one of the most comfiest pubs in London as there are so many sofas in here. The roast I had was delicious and a good sized portion, the Defectors are now offering an alternative to the traditional Sunday roast by wrapping everything up in a yorkie, I must try this one day. The atmosphere here was relaxing on this Sunday afternoon and I could of stayed for a lot longer. . The modern day pub is ever evolving, I first visited here 10 years ago and my last visit was 3 years ago. The Defectors Weld has made some subtle changes along the way to stay relevant and move with the times. The one thing I got from both visits is that this is a decent boozer. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 21/10/18

So i went there last night, all the staff was absolutely amazing apart from one lady. She was rude, no manners, like she didn't even wanted to be there, i said thank you for the drinks while she absolutely ignored me didn't reply anything and left. Disgusting and disappointing. You should treat your customer welcomed, happy, friendly or at least with minimum manners. Lady name was Jo or Joyce, with a headband, utterly useless service. The rest of the team was amazing! Smiled, being polite and chatty and knowledgeable about menu and very helpful. Pub is great, clean and amazing vibe but based on the one staff member it is putting the place down. If you don't want to work there, don't! If you do, be nice to the customers. As simple as that.

Popped in for a drink and really enjoyed the music, atmosphere and food/drink options available! Staff all very friendly and the artwork and seating makes it feel fresh and cosy. Will be back!

Absolutely perfect - really great food and the service was amazing. They were very attentive and accommodating, especially on match day. Glad to have the doors open again to our neighborhood pub.

Been before but this experience was nothing like I’ve seen before. Queued at the bar but the staff aimlessly walked around not serving anyone unless the person interjected and when it came to getting served…. The bar tender refused to serve us cocktails as apparently they were understaffed and said in unfriendly tone. I’ve come here before and loved the place but never again. I’ve worked in a bar before and I appreciate pressure but no excuse. I won’t be coming back…

Came here tonight with my dad, who doesn’t speak English. He pointed at a beer behind the bar (couldn’t make out what it said on the label). Back at the table we realised it was a alcohol free beer - not what we were after. The waitress didn’t warn us it was alcohol free and didn’t want to change it and was super rude about it. Not the normal pub service I’ve been used to in my 10 years in London. Disappointing.

This is no longer a good pub. There is no longer any good staff. There is very little point to visit the defectors now. Has this pub been put together by a group of people who have never been to a pub?

Good old fashion pub. Normal prices, spacious and well located. Felt comfortable, good attention. Nothing remarkable other than my friend @NicoAngemi who played amazingly on acoustic Thursdays.

The worst. I came in at lunchtime to book a table and spoke to the manager about where was a quiet place to eat. Arrived at 7.30pm to find our reservation had been taken by another party who refused to move. I’m disabled and had to stand there with a very embarrassed waitress asking them to move. After 10 minutes they finally agreed to move. Leaving us with a beer soaked table that I had to repeatedly asked to be clean. The music was horrendously loud making conversation impossible. My friend had driven from Oxford to meet us. We downed one drink we had already bought from the bar and left in disgust. Really appalling and the management refused to come out of the back office to assist.

Good beer range, let down by their secret Dj app, not able to pick a song as promised on their blackboard.

Nice looking place, and good for local gigs at the O2 empire. But the service was fairly average at best. One of the bar staff wasn't really interested in being hospitable or welcoming, basic levels of customer service not met.

Nice Young's pub that ticks all the boxes. Had a great couple of pints of Young's Original in here, though you can expect it won't be cheap, as per any Young's pub really. Still a nice place, if you're ever in the area. You can get a lot worse!

The fat, short and bald bar manager here is probably the rudest person I’ve met in a pub ever. And I’ve been to enough. Never came across someone like it in my life. I messed up getting cash back because I did contactless instead of putting my card in. I apologised and asked to do it again (buying another drink in the process) and he got angry. When I said there’s no need to be rude and I just made a mistake. He says he didn’t care. Get him gone. Rest of staff were lovely despite the manager being a sad and bitter bloke who’s deffo not getting any at home .

Asked for two GnTs. Got given two shots of gin in glasses, warm bottles of tonic on the side, no ice and no slice. Music was way too loud, only about 12 guests inside. Really gone down hill.

The only thing open around the area until late so not much choice but to go there. The staff could smile and act happier, maybe a bit of customer service would be nice. OK music - commercial for everyone. A decent space to sit, talk and dance.

We had a work lunch booked for a month down the road which due to a kitchen emergency was cancelled that morning. I booked with the Defectors Weld online as I had good food in there in the past and I knew it was freshly cooked. We were a party of 10 with 2 persons who had specific allergy requirements (including a nut allergy), they went above and beyond to cater for us. The food was absolutely delicious - everyone was happy - and the level of service was so considerate. To the point where it was shared with us that the cutlery was cleaned with lemon juice not a cleaning material which would have caused allergy issues. Thank you so much for saving the day and providing us with such a welcome and fun experience ! We will definitely be visiting again :)

Wednesday early afternoon. Very hot day, but nice and cool in the pub as it has very good air-conditioning. Bar staff were friendly. Only had one beer, (Real Ale), on tap - St Austell, Proper Job - was looking forward to a Youngs Ale 🍺 so this was a slight disappointment for me. But I would add that the Proper Job was in good condition .

Dreadful. Made a booking to catch up with work colleagues. Music was way too loud for any conversation and this was very early in the evening. I complained to the manager who refused to help and said it was people, not the music! There was a clear difference in volume between the front and back of pub and I know of others who also complained at the same time. We had to move to the garden/smoking area to finish up so we could talk. Really poor service - staff had no clue in bar management. No crisps. Wine out of stock. Food ordered off menu took way too long to arrive and wasn't all that. It's a shame as it's a lovely pub but I won't be in a hurry to return.

The pub looks amazing after the refurbishment. Staff are super attentive. Great atmosphere. The food is really good. Menu is limited with something for everyone and is better than just traditional pub grub. Would recommend going. Great pub.
