Phenomenally over priced for a tiny take outbox the size of a cupcake container! Food kept under heat lamps and no idea how long for. The boxes used quickly leak ( as seen in picture ) and the person serving was grumpy. Really don’t understand the copious amount of 5 star reviews, even when they make the same criticisms! Flavour wise it’s fine, nothing special and there are tastier vegan Ethiopian places in london.

Cosy and welcoming vegan&gluten free spot in the main lively street of Tuffnell Park. The food is cooked with love, the portions are huge and the staff is lovely and extremely professional. Engocha is usually our Sunday treat :) highly recommended

Great value food which tastes waaay better than me and my friend expected. Only downside is that food is batch cooked and kept warm under heat lamps. I didn't think this affected the taste or nutrition, but some of the customers after us didn't get to eat the more popular servings (it was a Saturday evening). When it's gone it's gone! But this is a fair trade off considering the low price. Very friendly owner and the place had a very "small town" vibe to it. I had the five serving food convo with the Ethiopian bread (injera) for £10. The owner kindly gave me a taste of the sixth flavour. I feel lucky!

the food is very good, I've actually eaten from here a few times and I return again and again with Friendly staff, and now take contactless. I liked the choice/the flavours/it's gluten-free factor and vegan. Be warned ; no toilets.

I have been coming here since they first opened, absolutely love the food and have brought many of my friends who are returning customers also. Sadly the prices have gone up (which is expected) but the portion size has gone down drastically 😭 they used to fill the box right to the top, now there's a huge gap between the food and the top of the box which is why I have only given three stars, you expect the food portion to stay the same, not go down as the price goes up.

what a God send this family run restaurant / take away is ! tasty fresh and delicious Ethiopian vegetarian cuisine at an affordable price , welcoming staff plus a bright clean spacious dining area - only gripe is take away portions a tad bit on the small size but at £ 6 a box can you really grumble ?

I was attending a gig with my son at the Boston Music Rooms and this place popped up during my search for vegan restaurants near Tufnell Park. We had a bit of each dish, mine with rice and my son's with the bread. This was followed by a fresh mint tea and a caffeine free spiced Ethiopian tea. All very tasty. We were made to feel welcome. I will definitely come here again when I'm next up for a gig.

The food was really delicious and vegan! While there you need to try the sourdough bread :) And I loved my tumeric latte with coconut milk. I had 6 combo.

I can't get enough of this fantastic, cheap and cheerful Ethiopian vegan cafe. The simple curries burst with flavour, and the coffee with coconut milk is simply unbeatable. And when asked for rice or injera, always go for the latter!

Delicious and authentic Ethiopian food, coffee and a very good turmeric latte made with coconut milk. Very reasonably priced for London. A lovely and welcoming gem of a place.

On break from work l went looking for some good, cheap food and shelter from the rain. Came across Engocha and was immediately interested, I chose the 6 options for £10 and was served a large plate of damn tasty dishes! I left full and completely satisfied. Highly recommend Will definitely return again!

Fairly sad place. Food was uninspiring, tepid, and in limited quantities.

I love this restaurant. No matter how much I eat there, I always end up craving their food again. The environment is nice, and the owners are very sweet and helpful. Great vegan food!

Tasty food for a good price, but beware of the portions’ size - it’s extremely small

What an amazing place! We popped in with my husband and it was our first experience with Ethiopian cuisine and it was simply marvelous. Amazing food, lovely service, will definitely come again (when Ethiopian filter coffee is in stock again 😊). For fellow non gluten non dairy eaters, you can enjoy all what is on offer. Thank you!

Absolutely marvelous food!! We spend 10£ for 6 dish set per person and we were absolutely stuffed. Highly recommend getting the fluffy bread and eating with your hands!

It's healthy fast food, and yeah it's that good. Vegan, gluten free and delicious. Not many places around here you can get a full nourishing meal for under £7.50. I usually get the 4 items box with injera. Engocha is a real gem!

Engocha is simply another overrated London restaurant. The food options are severely limited, and very pricey given the small portion size and the fact that the food is dished out from serving trays that have been sitting on heat for the entire day. Conceptually, it's like Chopstix except that Chopstix occasionally serves you freshly cooked food. Don't have much experience with Ethiopian food, but the flavors are very similar to South Indian food, especially their flatbread which tastes like dosa.

Great taste, good price. The owner is nice. It was simple but good. Our 15month old also liked the food. We will come back.

Food was delicious and fantastic value, and the staff were absolutely lovely and even gave us extra injera for free! Would absolutely recommend
