    18 months ago I was 50, unfit and as many mid life women find, also bigger than I’d ever been. It was also post lockdown which for me included long covid too, a short walk left me breathless and exhausted! If you’d have told me then that now I’d be up at 6am twice a week, ready to go training before work I’d have never believed you. I’d never been one for regular exercise, running around looking after family and working leaves little spare time, I’d often ‘thought’ about it but it always seemed training was for other people, not for me, a kettle was to be filled with water for a cuppa, not a 20kg+ weight to be used for exercise!! Clearly James and his wonderful team cast some sort of spell on me, I now LOVE training, it sets me up for the day, I’m stronger, healthier and yes my clothes do fit better too. I actually miss it on the days I don’t attend, my family are both shocked that I’m still committed, and also fed up with me going on about how great training is all the time! I’m in awe of what my body can now do, I’m even more in awe of how the trainers have got me here! They are all amazing, somehow finding the balance between encouraging and knowing our limits, the plans and detail into each of our training programmes are great, they all make JB what it is, which in my opinion is perfect. Everyone who attends JB loves it and I’ve made some great friends from this lovely bunch. If you’re reading this and sitting on the fence, jump straight off and please come join us, you won’t regret it.

    Really love training here - the new facilities are great and the staff are super supportive. I find gyms quite intimidating but this one feels like a community and the program is personalised so you progress. I am definitely stronger than I was a few months ago! Can’t recommend highly enough.

    Never did I imagine I would: * Work out consistently 3 days/week (give or take 🙈) for the last 2 years * Work out in a CHURCH (it’s not as odd as it sounds) * Enjoy being in a group class * Feel like trainers care about me and know when to push me * Laugh while I am working out * Make ACTUAL friends in a class * Enjoy the music playlists (am still waiting for Beyonce day tho) * Plan my flat move to be geographically near where I work out * Learn how to properly work out with weights * Ask for heavier weights * Buy weights so I can work out from home when needed * Know I can modify exercises for my varying knee, back, shoulder alignments * Know I can also adjust exercises for my mood (slams after a stressful day anyone???) * Have a love/hate with walk-outs * Convince co-worker friends to join a class * See and FEEL my body get stronger * Maybe do a video testimonial next ;) (only for you, James)

    I felt at a physical low when I started JB Fitness UK. I had had two babies (really close in age) and had just returned to full-time work and was trying to find a way to get into working out again. It was really hard, as most places, schedules don't fit if you have small children and a busy work life. James and the team have thought long and hard about that, which attracted me to try it out. I'm now completely hooked. It's such a fantastic community to be a part of, I'm finally back to my pre-babies size, and most importantly, my energy levels have increased significantly. I can't rate them enough, all the coaches are amazing, and they tailor the workout to your specific needs. Try them out!

    I’ve been training with James and his team for the past five months and I cannot recommend it highly enough! The sessions are all tailored to each person’s needs and all the coaches are so supportive. It’s such a lovely fun atmosphere and I’ve seen great results so far.

    I have been coming to JB Fitness for the past year . I have noticed a huge improvement in my fitness, strength, resilience and wellbeing. I feel more energetic, have fewer aches and pains, and generally feel upbeat and sleep really well. After a few weeks of attending 2 classes a week I had lost weight and received lots of compliments about my appearance. This has been maintained and I now have a more toned and firm body which makes me feel confident . I thoroughly recommend these sessions as they are actually enjoyable as well as challenging. All the coaches at JB are really nice and supportive and they explain the excercises and their benefits really clearly .

    I came across JB Fitness on a short YouTube/ Facebook clip. The first thing I noticed was that they were not run of the meal gym fanatics but everyday normal people like me when they first started. I was intrigued and listened to a few testimonials. Soon, I found myself on a taster session which I then followed up by a 30 day trial. I couldn't believe how friendly everyone was led by Coach James 😁 who made you feel that you belonged in the team 🤗 Coach James followed up your personal session to personalise the routine to suit your goals even when you had a pain or discomfort, it was quickly adjusted! Never a dull moment for me as we commenced with simple exercises and built up on them depending on your progress. I never felt left out or left behind and really loved the fact and flexibility of working in my own pace and challenged me when I was more than capable of pushing me to become the best version of myself. The routine was to keep fit and stay fit while building core strength. I definitely felt fitter and stronger 💪🏾 and his team of PT's were amazing too. I would recommend anyone regardless of how unfit you are to give it a try🏋️ you will not regret it 😁💪🏾I loved and enjoyed every moment at JB Fitness 😍🤩

    A really challenging and personalised work out. You can book on in the app for whatever time suits you - it’s very flexible. My strength & fitness have really improved since joining. I would definitely recommend James & the team.

    Before I started with JB Fitness UK I was in a rut. I was feeling physically unfit but I couldn't motivate myself and was struggling to find a form of exercise I enjoyed. The small group sessions are friendly and personal. The exercises - which are mainly weight and core based - are tailored to each individual. You're pushed and supported. The routines are carefully adapted by James and team, and you're given increases when they know you're ready. The classes are small enough that you get individual attention. James and team are great trainers. You get personal attention and always feel safe in their hands and motivated. . It's become such an important part of my routine and I’d thoroughly recommend them to anyone in a similar situation.

    I started training with James and the team in March 2020. Coming out of the last lockdown l was the most unfit I had been in years. Like many people, I'd put on weight and was lacking in energy, so really needed some motivation! Right from the start, James made sure that the workouts were specifically tailored to me, and that I was always being challenged and making progress. I'd never done weight training before, but James and the team made it accessible and I'm now much more confident with it. The whole team are really knowledgable, super friendly and supportive, which helped me keep on track - definitely no scary bootcamp shouting! I also found that having the accountability of someone expecting you for a training session was an extra motivator and helped me stay consistent. Training regularly with JB Fitness has greatly improved my general level of fitness and motivated me to become much more active. I've recently completed my first half marathon, which seemed impossible back in March! Whatever your fitness level, even if you're a complete beginner, I would definitely recommend training with JB Fitness.

    Loving JB's sessions. I started 4 months ago because (post menopause) I felt I needed a more dynamic, strength based workout. Previously when on my own or in large group sessions, I ended up injured, and I can't afford a PT.  So JB's small group training is perfect. I'm working out with a small group of like minded moviated and  friendly people, and I am always spotted and supported in by the knowledgeable and professional team in my personalised workouts. Add to that convenient session times, location and reasonably priced and it's win win. I'm fitter, stronger and look forward to every season.

    I have been attending JB Fitness for over a year now and I have really loved it. All the trainers strike a great balance between supportive and encouraging. My strength has improved so much since joining. I have always gone to classes before JB but these small group sessions have allowed me to learn so much and correct my form in a lot of the exercises. I would recommend to anyone in the area. They are suitable for all abilities and tailor the program to your strength and fitness level.

    I have been with JB Fitness for over a year. I joined mainly for exercise and toning, I really enjoy the session. Although we are in groups, each person has their own program. I have seen so much improvement in my ability since joining. The groups consist of mixed abilities and different ages and the sessions are so much fun. All the coaches are very experienced and very knowledgeable in fitness, nutrition and recovery. I would highly recommend everyone to join. Well done James for putting together an amazing team and studio

    Having looked at the large gyms in Islington, I was very reluctant to buy a membership and end up getting bored and not using it “again”. I then came across JB Fitness and am so happy that I found this small group personal training gym. It is so nice to have a team of fabulous trainers who actually care about you and your fitness journey. They ensure you are training correctly, consistently and at the right level. Thank you to James and his team for making fitness fun. I encourage you to join, you won’t regret it.

    I started with JB fitness 14 months ano and have steadily gained strength and confidence. I have one to one sessions as I have had major spinal surgery and need individual attention- it’s great. I’d recommend it to anyone regardless of age or fitness level- and it’s fun to be with the lovely considerate team. Can’t recommend highly enough.

    I've been training with JB Fitness since 2020 and have been loving the sessions. The online sessions worked really well for my lifestyle and it's been nice going in and meeting other people now that things are back to normal. The coaches are amazing and the workouts after tailored to you as an individual. I'm really happy with the progress I've made over the past few years!     I joined JB late 2023. I’d never committed to a PT/GYM membership before. The detailed and friendly approach from James and his team is fantastic. You can simply rock up to a class and let the team instruct you through all the exercises and leave feeling great. Highly recommend.

    JB fitness UK is amazing and I 100% recommend. I came to the classes having very little fitness and motivation to work out, I was also very self conscious about exercising in front of other people. All that changed when I met James, his work out programs are focused and diverse to keep it interesting. They are easy to fit into every day life as there is a good selection of times you can do. James and the team are incredibly encouraging and built my confidence up around working out. I have had amazing results from the work outs and now love working out.

    Jared has been extremely supportive.. Jared listens understands and empathises he totally understands the struggles one faces when taking the step to enter the gym. I would highly recommend jb fitness to be your first choice if you are thinking of joining the gym. I cant thank Jared enough for the support over the years always stood by me, never judged me, but instead understood my struggles and gave me the tools and his 100% dedication to over come my issues with fat loss. Not only did he fully support me in the gym but also held me accountable when out of the gym with weekly check ins and monthly reviews.     I’ve been training with James for close to a year and it’s the first time that training does not feel like a chore, rather something I enjoy and sometime even miss. It’s the perfect mix of a group session where you can share the pain and motivate each other. The trainer to people ratio makes sure that you are constantly followed throughout the work out and that each session is tailored to your needs yet maintaining the feeling of a group training. The sessions in the mornings, evenings and weekends give great flexibility to fit anybody’s schedule, and James is super helpful in moving or helping booking so that you can easily keep the training schedule while carrying out a busy London life. I’ve been enjoying this so much and the location in the Highbury Church makes it even more unique. Absolutely recommend it.

    I can’t recommend JB Fitness highly enough! Absolutely fantastic bunch of people – both the trainers and the clients, and you can’t help but absorb some of James’ positivity! I started joining the classes in the summer after the first lockdown. In the past I have done a lot of gym classes and 1:1 personal training but have found this to be a much better balance – everything is personalised with a low ratio of trainers to participants so they can be very attentive and make sure we’re all practising good technique. They’re all very friendly and the whole experience is welcoming. There’s a good range of times and flexibility. I’ve loved training regularly as part of a local group – perfect energising start to the day and keeping me on track with fitness. Thanks to James and the team for doing such a great job, keep up the good work!

    I signed up to JB Fitness in 2019, at a time when I was traveling a lot for work and struggling to find classes that fit my schedule. I had also suffered multiple injuries in the past due to poor technique and irregular training patterns. I was a little skeptical about the locale as classes don’t take place in a fitness studio, but I have since overlooked this given how well it’s worked for me. The format offered by JB Fitness is great: - when I was traveling for work, James helped me work around my schedule. He’s always a text away and very accommodating - we train in small groups so the trainers can observe our technique and help us make adjustments to train safely and build strength - the team take injuries into account when designing our individual programmes and propose variations / adjust weights accordingly - the programme is varied, with new exercises/ equipment and circuit types introduced regularly - I personally find it more fun and motivating to train in a group than individually - all the trainers (James, Paige, Simon, Paul) are very professional and attentive, and above all motivate us to push ourselves and make the most of our sessions Kudos to the team for keeping us going during the pandemic and seamlessly transitioning to online and outdoors classes so we don’t interrupt our routine! I have now stuck to my routine with JB Fitness for 2 years, and I’m very pleased with the results as I am stronger and more toned. Regular training also helped with my mental health and resilience during what has been a very challenging year.

    James and the team at JB Fitness provide an all-round excellent service, whatever your fitness needs or goals. We started training with James around 3 years ago simply to establish a fixed exercise routine within a hectic work schedule. We mainly do one-on-one sessions and we’ve also taken part in a few group sessions run by the brilliant JB Fitness team. Both types of session are great. Aside from being completely motivated to help us feel healthier and stronger, James is a total pleasure to work with. He has a really personable, inclusive style and is encouraging and flexible in his approach. He’s also been amazingly adaptable throughout the pandemic, sharing regular tips and advice regarding physical fitness, mental wellbeing, home gym equipment and nutrition. Above all, James is a constant source of positive vibes! Would definitely recommend JB Fitness.

    JB Fitness is amazing! The staff are incredible, the community so wonderful to be a part of, and the benefits of training this way are phenomenal. I started with a months trial and quickly got hooked! James and the team care so much and are dedicated to supporting you through your fitness journey.     I have been training with the fantastic JB team for about 2 years now and plan to continue. I’ve recommended friends who also love the personal approach (tailored routines) and the social aspect (small group training). I’ve always found weights workouts a really effective way to maintain body tone and with James and the team you know you can build on your weights and routines safely to achieve your goals. Even through lockdown the last year, the team has worked hard to give us safe and effective workouts remotely on zoom, through reduced sized sessions, outdoor sessions, and with all the necessary hygiene adjustments based on government recommendations at the time. It’s not the cheapest option for training, but for something that gets results and you enjoy enough to actually stick with, I highly recommend.

    I’ve been training with Team JB for about 15 months, and can’t recommend it enough. I had zero gym experience before tentatively reaching out to Coach James and I am so glad I did. James explained how the sessions work (small group training or one to one) and the times that are offered (a lot!). I chose one to one sessions and a time slot that worked for me - and I’ve never looked back. I now mainly train with Paige (who is a total superstar and even makes working out fun) twice a week. My sessions are carefully tailored to what I am seeking to achieve and I even look forward to them. In more usual times we work out in the church on Highbury fields, but the transition to online was seamless. In short, Team JB (James, Paige and Louis) are fantastic! Certainly Highbury’s finest 👍

    As I approach 50 I know how important it is to keep active and to make sure that I have regular exercise. My mind wants to work out, but the reality is that my body is not always able to do as much as I like. What I love about JB fitness is that they always take into account what state I'm in. If I've got problems with my knees we may focus on upper body. Dodgy elbow, no problem - we can focus on core. There's never an excuse to stop going and stop working out, just because I wake up with a new ache. The classes are small enough that they can tailor each session to everyone's personal needs, ensuring that I go from strength to strength, always getting stronger and fitter. The small friendly classes allow James and the team to really focus on each person. It’s the perfect combination! Working out with a group of friendly encouraging people, but at the same time getting a tailor-made session. The early and late sessions mean that I can fit in a class around my work and home life. And with the added online sessions, I can always fit JB Fitness into my day.

    I have been training with JB Fitness for more than 7 years now which I simply can’t believe!! This is a testament to how good James is at getting you turn up and stick with it!! I have lost count of the many gyms I have joined in the past and after an initial leap of enthusiasm ended up going for a couple of very expensive workouts. James and the team always modify the workouts to accommodate how your body is at any given time (I have had a couple of injuries over the years) As a woman in my 50’s I know it is so important to do load bearing exercise, and they help push me just the right amount in a way I could never do in a gym (if I turned up at all!) The personal attention you get is good value for money too. The sessions are fun and I have enjoyed training with local like minded normal people and made a few friends along the way. If you are in 2 minds about coming along I would definitely say GIVE IT A GO… you won’t regret it!

    I started training with JB fitness in February 2022 and it was one of the best decisions I've made for my health and wellbeing. This was triggered off the back of covid, which made me re-think about how I look after my body… That and entering my 30s, which unfortunately for me resulted in a significantly reduced metabolism. I'd never had a good relationship with exercise; I'd never gotten beyond the point of pain to see any results or gain enjoyment from it. I never understood when people went on about the endorphins they get form working out or how/why they would speak about working out so enthusiastically. I'd luckily always been slim but I was incredibly embarrassed by my lack of strength and endurance. So much so that I could never go to gyms more than once or twice and I could never find a PT or an exercise regime that fit. JB fitness has changed all that. James and the team have been instrumental in helping me not only be the strongest and fittest I've ever been but also in changing my attitude towards exercise; something I never thought could happen. They are very attentive to your individual fitness level and rate of progression, which means they challenge you without pushing too hard to the point of causing injuries (or in my case, embarrassment to the point of being discouraged). Who would have thought I'd be someone who could truly look forward to my PT sessions! Couldn’t recommend JB fitness more.

    Like lots of people I had a challenging time during the pandemic and comfort ate my way through much of it and put on quite a lot of weight. Since joining JB Fitness just a few months ago I've lost a lot of what I'd put on, toned up, feel much stronger in my body and my mind and lots of people have told me how good I'm looking which is always nice to hear :) I would really have struggled to achieve this by going to the gym on my own and having to motivate myself, but doing this programme means all I need to do is rock up and I'm told what to do, how to do it and I get a different set of exercises each time which keeps things fresh. I would totally recommend JB Fitness, it's a great balance of being challenging but fun and James and his team are really freindly and professional and adapt or change any exercises if you have an injury or a niggle somewhere which has been very useful for me.

    I started attending sessions 6 months before my wedding. James and the team helped me lose the extra weight I’d put on over lockdown and tone and strengthen so I felt confident and happy in my dress and on my honeymoon! I enjoy the sessions so much that I have continued post-wedding. There is great variety in the exercises so I never get bored and I love the friendly atmosphere which makes working out a much better experience and easier to get out of bed in the morning! The team take care to know what you’re capable of to push you at the right times, and adapt exercises that work best for you. Highly recommend!

    I having been training with James and his team for over a year now. It’s so flexible I do the morning sessions that easily fit before work and I have also done the online sessions when I was isolating. When I went on holiday, James gave me advice to keep up my fitness and shared some exercise routine videos by the team, to help me complete my training regime while I was away. In February I had an operation and James discussed how keeping fit would aid my recovery. I was able to exercise from home right up to the day before my surgery. He even lent me a dumbbell! After a period of recuperation I slowly built back my fitness with the team’s support. All the trainers are very knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. If you’re looking for a welcoming place to train, that keeps you on track with a personal touch then this is the right team to choose.

    I’ve been attending classes with James and the team for over a year and half now. It is the only exercise I have stuck to consistently since I moved to London 7 years ago and I can honestly say I actually look forward to each session. I love that it is a mixture of a personal training approach as well as getting the feel of a class structure too. The sessions are tailored to you personally (with your own weights and exercises) and I have felt myself get so much stronger and fitter since I started. The gym itself also has a great feel and it is far less intimidating than some of the larger gyms in the area. I would highly recommend : )

    JB Fitness has been a fantastic addition to my weekly routine. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and you really feel part of a supporting community.     I’ve been going to JB fitness for over 4 years and had started as I was looking for something in between personal training and a gym class and this was exactly it. The team at JB are great, they cater the exercises to each persons’ abilities whilst balancing to push you to develop your strength over time. These classes are designed in a way that I’ve now come to look forward to them as my way of keeping fit! Thanks as always James and team!!

    I have been going to JB Fitness for a year and I cannot recommend it enough! It is really inspirational and James and his team are motivating, friendly and encouraging. It is a unique exercise experience which works incredibly well. I had been attending a gym previously but was bored and felt that it wasn’t really making a difference to my overall strength or weight. I was reasonably fit but wanted to be more toned and lose a bit of weight. I had been mostly doing cardio at the gym but knew that weight training was very important - especially past a certain age. I joined JB Fitness slightly apprehensive as I’d never done anything like this before. I needn’t have worried- I loved it from the start as the training is tailor-made for every member but in a group setting. I have toned up, feel stronger and fitter and have lost a few inches all over! The trainers are very supportive, aware of your capabilities and adapt the weights and exercises according to your improving strength or any weaknesses or ailments. They really take time to get to know everyone individually. The team keeps the exercises challenging and motivating by varying the routines and incorporating new exercises. It never feels stale or routine. It’s a great atmosphere, lovely location with good cardio equipment too and feels like a big family. I would definitely recommend JB Fitness to anyone thinking of improving their strength and fitness no matter what their age and anyone who is looking for a challenging but inspirational weight class.

    I only joined JB Fitness in December 23 but already I can feel the difference it is making to my fitness levels and overall wellbeing. I'd been in a bit of a slump with my training for the previous 9 months and was struggling with consistency due to illness, injuries and total lack of energy. Fast forward 2 months and I am in such a different place thanks to James and his excellent team. The training is challenging but supportive and always varied. I love the fact that everyone is working on their own individual programme but within a small group setting. The trainers have a wealth of knowledge and can quickly adapt any of the exercises should it be required. I'm lifting weights that I wouldn't have previously considered. I'm feeling stronger, more toned and most importantly of all, feeling like I've got my energy back again. This has filtered through into other areas of my life, including restarting sports I hadn't done in a long time.

    JB Fitness is absolutely fantastic. The trainers are unreal - James, Paige, Simon and Francis are incredibly supportive but also want to challenge you (which is sometimes the motivation I need!) The classes are small (max around 5 people) but really feel like 1-on-1 personal training sessions. The weights for each exercise are tailored to each person and the trainers know when to push you to increase your weights over time. The trainers are also only too happy to help with any goals you want to achieve, and provide tailored programmes to enable you to achieve them. I’ve noticed a real difference in my strength in a relatively short space of time but also in my overall cardio. I initially started with JB Fitness to give me structure to my exercise routine but am now thanks to the team really keen to improve my strength training. It’s a fantastic studio, fantastic team - can’t recommend it enough!!
