With eyes fixed upon the Elizabeth Tower and Parliament Building, it would be forgiven if you didn't even notice the square, situated within a circle of traffic, across the street. This is Parliament Square and this is a neat place to visit for a few minutes to see nice statues of ten important historical figures, most notably - Sir Winston Churchill. During the summer the statues at Parliament Square are set against trees with deep green foliage, which makes for much nicer photographs compared to visiting here during the winter months. For those passing by or visiting attractions in the area, you can easily pop over and see the statues at Parliament Square in 10-15 minutes, it is worth the detour.

Parliament Square is a square at the northwest end of the Palace of Westminster in the City of Westminster in central London. Laid out in the 19th century, it features a large open green area in the centre with trees to its west, and it is home to twelve statues of British, Commonwealth and foreign political figures. They are listed here in anti-clockwise order, beginning with Winston Churchill's statue, which faces Parliament.

Great spot to sit and people watch. Loads of people move about here and buses and cars. Probably some horses as well.... Enjoy a little history with the statues and enjoy a packed lunch or afternoon snack perhaps.

Located right in the middle of London's iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, Elizabeth Tower (a.k.a Big Ben), Whitehall, Saint-Margaret's Church, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Bridge. Parliament Square houses eleven state figures and world leaders, including Sir Winston Churchill, Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. An English politician, activist, writer and feminist Dame Millicent Garrett Fawcett joined the gentlemen’s club as a single female figure by mayor Sadiq Khan and former prime minister Theresa May in 2018. Parliament Square in London is a popular destination among tourists. The atmosphere is magnificent and it's one of the must-visit locations in the political heart of London.

This public square opposite the UK parliament contains statues and monuments to some of the greatest political and military figures from British and some not so British history. Just some of the statues definitely worth see are those that honour Winston Churchill, Millicent Fawcett, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln and Robert Peel etc.

Parliament Square is also the home to a number of notable statues of political figures. The statues of Parliament Square can often go unremarked. However they represent a microcosm of the history of Britain. Those whose images have been depicted are who the British state have deemed to be particularly noteworthy. They are, after all, positioned directly in front of parliament itself. Grand figures include no less than seven former British prime ministers. These are David Lloyd George, Winston Churchill, Sir Robert Peel, Henry John Temple (3rd Viscount Palmerston), Edward Stanley (14th Earl of Derby), George Canning and Benjamin Disraeli (1st Earl of Beaconsfield).

So alive and so beautiful on this day. I waited for Big Ben to chime at 12 noon and just did the people watch thing. This was a very alive space. It was a great experience and so much history. I'm glad I went here.

Parliament Square is a grass area that is enclosed by Westminster on one side and Whitehall on the other. Both a where the seat of United Kingdom power is conducted. Traditionally protests are held here resulting in the grass area looking totally destroyed and not very tourist friendly. Recently protestors have been moved on and the square has been tidied up and made more tourist friendly. The square is flanked by statues of famous people in history that have impacted on British history, including Winston Churchill and recently the first statute of a famous woman. I think having a few more benches and allowing tourist to picnic on it will give it a more friendly feeling.

A perfect spot for seeing many London landmarks in one fell swoop. Westminter Abbey, Big Ben, and Houses of Parliament are all nearby with spectacular views. In addition, there are statues of many famous world leaders: Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Winston Churchill, and Abraham Lincoln to name a few. It's a perfect staging area for large groups too, as it's close to the Tube and a short walk over the Westminster Bridge takes you to the London Eye.

This is a beautiful garden with a lot of statues of famous people, such as Gandhi and Chuchill. It's surrounded by Big Ben and parliament buildings, government buildings, Westminster Station and bus stops. It's a center of literally everything in the UK: politics, administrations, judiciary and tourism.

Seat and soak up the history... Great views if many historical markers. Use it as a meet point Known for protest it is home to no less than seven former British prime ministers. These are David Lloyd George, Winston Churchill, Sir Robert Peel, Henry John Temple, Edward Stanley, George Canning and Benjamin Disraeli. There is also a statue of American President Abraham Lincoln and two South African leaders in Nelson Mandela and Jan Christian Smuts. Mandela was also the first black person to be represented on the square.

This square has been the place for protest and free speech for generations but now you will find such things are frowned on. If large groups gather to express an opinion they will be ushered off the grass as not to spoil it. Let's not lose our rights!
