I came here just before Lunar New Year 2022 to find some kind of flowers that are typical for Lunar New Year in Vietnam: cherry blossoms, lily, etc. And I am so happy that I found them all. The atmosphere is so refreshing and joyful. The market only takes place on Sunday morning so make sure that you wake up early to avoid the crowds and find some bargains.

I was stunned to see such a huge flower and plants market. Many varieties of flowers and plants at reasonable cost! Just few minutes walk from Broadway Market. Some shops really have great bargains. I went on Sunday around 2pm which was the closing time of market and there were some extended bargains before they close! Must if you want to buy variety of plants for house or garden

Seasonal flowers, huge selections and fresh bouquets. Lovely Sunday morning and good atmosphere. Cute shops and great people around. Also recommend for people who plan to get plants for their house - inside or for the garden - outside.

The Columbia Road Flower Market is open on Sundays. It is so pretty to just walk around. So many cheap flowers/plants/anything you want, it is there. Some places take cash, some take card. Would recommend going here if you need some cheap flowers for your garden, plants for your house, etc.

It's my happy place that I love visiting 2 or times a year! Fantastic place to visit for indoor and outdoor plants at a really great value! There are really cute boutique home, kitchen ware, fashion stores, cafes and restaurants as well. It does get quite crowded so it isn't a place I would recommend bringing babies and small children. A must for plant lovers!πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

In a sunny summer day, I can't think of something that beats walking around the flower market. Good coffee, some of the cutest dogs, lots of families, that good neighborhood community vibe. All that is good and well, but those aren't the highlights, the plants are. Beautiful, exuberant, a multitude of fragrances filling the air. I felt like buying the whole place. But I eventually came to my senses, realized I don't have that big of a place, settled down to some gorgeous flowers on a bouquet and went back home with a sense of joy. Plants can have that kind of effect on us.

Alway popular on Sundays. Can get very crowded so either come early or wait til after 2pm. Coffee shops sell lots of fresh cakes, bagels and hot food but again expect to queue during busy times.

Gets crowded but still nice. It's very peaceful and the vibe is chill. Find the ice cream cart at the end of the road and get the best treat for Β£2 from a lovely gentleman.

Open on a Sunday, the market is a beautiful place to look at a range of cut flowers, house and potted plants. The peonies below are available in June and it’s rare to see such large and vibrant ones. As you hit afternoon, the prices of cut flowers will fall as venders pack up, so while people recommend getting there early to avoid crowds, you may end up staying till closing to get a good price.

Good experience on a Sunday morning/noon. There are a variety of flower shops that give you happy vibes just by looking at them. The place is usually very crowded in the afternoon so advising you to explore the street in the mornings if you do not like crowds or would like to take some great photos. There are some fun activities like singing that you might enjoy if you are lucky but overall it is quite a nice street to visit.

To visit, if you like expensive flowers and crowds, is only one day a week and only few hours.. I cannot ask myself if would not be a better idea to find a place to have it 2-3 days or a whole weekend at least. cutting off the crowd and the rush. But there are here and there some bargains to have.. if you are patient. To try, at least once!

The market is lovely but too crowded, we had to squeeze and walk very slowly. I could barely breathe… but the flowers and the plants were beautiful and fresh. We ended up buying too many of them and we took Uber home lol

BEST PLACE TO GO TO ON A SUNDAY BETWEEN 9 AM TO 3 PM! Amazing shopping deals for vintage & aesthetic decor for home. Ofc, the variety of flowers and other gardening tools is infinite. Do remember to purchase lavender seeds to naturally scent your clothes (only 2.5 GBP per pouch). I will come here as I am a morning person and I love to spend time searching for unique home accessories (and gifts too)!

A must visit for a nice leisurely walk, enjoying the flowers and the smells. A bit of the beaten path but packed with colour, smells, Flowers of all sizes and species, and lots of botanicals at very good prices. Several artisan and curiosity shops. Lots of coffee places and some pubs nearby. Tends to get very crowded. Visit to upgrade the green feel of your place. Bring big sturdy carrier bags as it is some distance from underground stations.

The flower market is pleasant enough and there is a plethora of independent and artisan shops on Colombia Road trading to all the beautiful people that hang out here, the wealth spills down to Hackney to show the superficial attraction of successful gentrification. Lots of flowers and plants, fortunately not as maddeningly busy as usual due to covid but, as my friend remarked "the yuccas are cheaper in Lidl"!

Columbia Road Flower Market is a true gem and easily one of the best experiences of my trip! The sheer beauty and vibrancy of this market create a floral paradise that's hard to put into words. From the moment you step into the market, you're surrounded by a kaleidoscope of colors and fragrances. The variety of flowers and plants is simply breathtaking, and each stall is a testament to the passion and artistry of the vendors. Whether you're a flower enthusiast or just looking for a unique and picturesque experience, Columbia Road Flower Market is an absolute must-visit. It's not just a market; it's a celebration of nature's beauty that will leave you with lasting memories.

Colombia Road Flower Market is a vibrant oasis in the heart of London. The lively atmosphere, filled with the fragrance of blooming flowers, makes it a delightful experience. The market's diverse selection of plants and flowers caters to every taste and occasion. Strolling through the narrow street, surrounded by bustling stalls and enthusiastic vendors, creates a unique and charming shopping experience. While it can get crowded, especially on weekends, the energy and variety of blooms make it well worth a visit for any flower enthusiast or those looking to brighten their day with a burst of color.

🌱 I have wanted to buy plants for my home for a long time. And finally I was able to go here on a Sunday. πŸ’ƒπŸ» It was a plant and flower paradise! πŸͺ΄ I bought myself four plants. I would have bought more if I knew I could carry itπŸ˜„I paid Β£29 in total for four plants. My plants have names. Aphrodite, Lena, Olivia and Lavinia πŸŒ±πŸ˜‚ Anyway, if you want to buy plants for your home, you should definitely go here. It is not expensive and there is a lot of variety.🌸

If you live in London, you should definitely take advantage of the phenomenal flower market every Sunday and Wednesday evening and especially around Christmas , where you can purchase trees and other holiday plants at terrific prices. We purchased lots of bags of lavender that will make our luggage smell wonderful!

Not quite sure why, but on my latest visit there were only stalls on one side of the street. Possible economic impact? Still many bargains to be had though, so we'll worth visiting to bring some colour into your homes amidst the approaching autumn gloom.

  • 5/5 E R. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent place to get your flowers. I went for photo opportunities, but still a great day. Despite there being food places every fourth shop, every place was packed, and the queue for oysters! Wow!! Art, craft and antique shops, a small market in a courtyard and a sculpture plaster cast craftsman. Incredibly busy and funny watching people trying to navigate the crowd with pot plants bigger than them.

What a charming local hub. So many people happily strolling home with bundles of fresh flowers, plants or herbs. A nice stretch of quaint shops and bakeries line the street. So much character surrounding the market. Definitely worth the visit.

Columbia Road Flower Market is a vibrant gem located in the heart of East London. The market is open every Sunday. There is a wide range of plants and flowers available. Some places accept only cash and some accept both cash and card payments. Also, going around 2pm can sometimes lead to discounts or deals. There are local cafes and shops selling everything from antiques to artisanal food. It can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours.

One of my favourite Sunday markets with bargains galore! I love buying plants and I find going around 3pm is best as you might not get first pick, but you do save lots of money. In this review, I've written about two visits - one in November and the other in December. It should give you an idea of what you xan buy and prices. In November, I bought 2 small lavender plants for Β£5, 3 x 6 packs of plugs of violas and pansies for Β£5, a bromelian & cyclamen for Β£5 and a hydrangea for Β£5 and a baby money plant for Β£1. This might be one of the best batches of plants I've bought in ages. The hydrangea is still thriving in December, a month later, although one of my lavenders and the hydrangea which were indoors were attacked by aphids so I've repotted them outside a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure if the pansies, violas and bromelian will last much longer. The money tree is also doing brilliantly. A few traders only accepted cash. Some traders are really friendly. Others can get grumpy - one of them didn't like me seeing how long the rose stems were. It was hard work getting it all home. 😝 My plants have cheered me up as it's so cold and grey. I highly recommend this as a winter tonic. I did a YT short last year when I first started going to CRFM. I was so excited and still am about this place. The photographs and video at the market are from the December visit. My balcony was very flowery and colourful for November. I hope I can keep it bright and cheerful this year. I visited again on December 3 and it is super Christmassy.πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„ I bought a small tree for Β£2.50. It was marked at Β£5 and when we got there after 12.30, he was selling 2 for Β£5. Another lady wanted one too and the stall seller didn't mind us buying it together, and even gave me change so we could. It really made my day! I also bought dried lavender for Β£5, the cheapest I've seen it, and a cyclamen plant for Β£2. All three are now on my dining table. I feel like going to Columbia every week for the next few months. 🀣

The best place in London to buy flowers. It’s best to get there super early-like 6am if you want the best bunches. It’s loud and rich in history too. Loads of cafes nearby to stop for coffee and breakfast

  • 3/5 Adam S. 1 year ago on Google
Really charming place, and everything sold for a good price. Only downsides are it's very busy, so the shops and cafΓ©s are all full, and the market is a lot smaller than you'd assume. I was expecting it to take a while to get round, but we were done after less than 40 minutes.

  • 5/5 Sunny G. 1 year ago on Google
Bustling and busy, go early to avoid the crowds or late to bag a bargain. The stall holders have an array of bouquets, house plants, trees, garden foliage, seeds, bulbs, dried flowers and grasses and the shops that align the market are crammed with pots, decorations and trinkets alike. Prices are fair but especially good on house plants in my opinion, just wishing you good luck taking your new 10ft monsterra home on the tube!

Super crowded, and recently no social distancing or mask use at all which is a shame. Columbia Road is gorgeous and the products sold are beautiful as well, it’s just a shame there seems to be no adherence to any of the Covid-relates guidelines.

Nice to mingle amongst people in a socially respectful kind of way. Although there is a good variety of plants and there is something affordable for everyone, I felt there were too many similarities in the stock that the sellers offered, much of which can be acquired at your local Homebase or B&Q for significantly less. However, the quality of the plants was excellent throughout, you will not get this quality at a chain store, nor would you get access to the knowledge that these sellers/growers have.

When you are in London, Columbia Road Flower Market is definately well worth a visit. Someplace a little different to visit on a Sunday, have a lovely wander around the stalls and shops. From so much beautiful flowers on display to buy, to plants, a wander around the independant shops and stalls to a spot of brunch! Go and see what flowery delights await you. Great for those that love to brighten their lives with flowers!

Visited on a sunny Sunday morning. Very busy, bustling vibrant market. Large selection of flowers on offer. Lots of decent street food and live music available off the main road if you get hungry. Caught some pigeons dining on a slice of pizza around the corner, so if you are a pigeon looking to dine around here, then East London is your best bet.
