Gorgeous concert venue in the heart of Islington. First time visiting this former church which is a first class place to catch your favourite band. From the beautiful wood panelled ceiling to the rose stained windows simply stunning. Nice bar although you cannot take alcohol into the seating area, but reasonably priced for London. Checked out 1970's Canterbury scene legends Caravan. Also highly recommended.

Very beautiful architecture and a great venue for small gigs . We went to see Krishna Das Kirtan concert and it was amazing . There’s a plenty of seating inside and an upper deck too .

Absolutely stunning location to see a Gig. Food in the cafe upstairs is recommended. Alcohol available upstairs too at a reasonable price and sitting in Pews for a gig is a wonderful novelty.

Angelic. The best and most intimate venue for a quiet and attentive concert. Will be back. No reserved seating so get their on time for doors open to get a good pew. Drinks served upstairs but not permitted inside the church. Warm inside with heaters. Stunning.

Backyard Cinema run an immersive live cinema experience, this month it was Romeo and Juliet set to a live choir and orchestra/musicians. The audience was set on a stage set up as a scene from the movie. The people here are helpful, the security is firm but polite and kind and not aggressive. The bar is located at the top of this beautiful church but be aware that no alcohol is allowed in the Chapel itself. A beautiful experience and highly recommended.

Lovely venue but with no assigned seating we arrived at the venue at doors open time to find a long queue in the rain. In the venue the only seats left had limited sight line and bad acoustics (see photo). One reason for the lack of good seats was that many seats were held by people laying down coats for friends who had not arrived. There were full rows of coats on the ground level like that. I would not attend another gig here.

Great space, really nice bar. Just strange how long the queue is to get inside, needs sorting out. Also the rule about no drinks outside of the bar area feels a bit uptight, especially considering the average age of people at gigs here.

Watched the Grade Cricketer show here (top notch comedic value). As a venue, setup was good, acoustics decent, spacious and comfy seating. Could do with a bit more variety of food and drink on offer.

Great venue for a more intimate kind of gig. They also do weddings and general events. Church benches for seating so don’t expect to be super comfy especially if you have long legs but the music will make it worth it.

Great beautiful venue for live gigs with beautiful architecture and friendly staff. Major downfall though is that you cannot take alcohol from the bar into concert space. Apparently they don't have a license for that which seems a bit cheap considering the prices at he bar. Other church venues in London who also do gigs do it better.

For Music: it's a seated venue, but tickets are General Admission, so people get there very early and queue to get a good location. The venue's license does not for alcohol in the performance space. There is a bar, but you have to 'reserve' your seats (with your coat?) and quickly have a drink before the show starts. My review and Photos are from Nouvelle Vague

I went to see Laura Veirs in this stunning venue this week. The sound was absolutely amazing. The crowd really listen here and that makes such a difference. The lighting is incredible as well. One of London's best venues.

We went to see Tom Grennan, its a stunning little venue. It's unusual to see successful artists so close up in such an intimate venue. We'll be back!

I have seen comedy here but only recently went for a gig and now appreciate the beauty of the venue. The lighting trickling around the architecture is entertainment enough for the night but the place draws quality musicians who want to give the venue it's due respect and deliver their best. It's a special place and you can sense everyone knows it.

Went to a comedy night here. Beautiful venue but ridiculous rules around drink. They have regular breaks to get everyone to buy a drink at the bar but the queue is so enormous and they don’t let you bring the drinks back to the seats so you have to basically neck the drink by the time you get it. If they just let you take drinks to your seats then the whole thing would run a lot smoother.

A beautiful venue for live music, with gorgeous lighting. There's ground and upper seating which both offer decent views of the stage. However if there's a particular view/seat you'd like for a popular event, I'd recommend arriving at the chapel at least 30-45 mins before the doors open since a long queue can form. Toilets available at the venue.

I went to the Freedom concert featuring Mei Lan and Ale Pervez Mehdi, where they passionately sang exquisite songs that resonated deeply. Their performance managed to awaken all seven of my senses during the event.

A beautiful good hotel in a historical building with a story. You can feel the richness of construction and art bringing memories of the past. The rooms are modern though.

We went there for a Sleeping at last concert. It was an incredible experience. The acoustic made it the perfect place for this type of music. The atmosphere was unique. Thank you for this magical moments.

I'm so grateful I was able to see Sofiane Pamart at Union Chapel - an extraordinary venue for an extraordinary artist! The acoustics are powerful and the whole setting with the lights is just stunning. The wooden benches weren't as bad as I expected, but it was definitely quite chilly inside despite heating, so it's better to come dressed accordingly. Lastly, I love the fact that charity work is being done through the chapel, for example via the early dinner prior to the concert. Would definitely come back in the future for another concert :)

We visit at this impressing place Tina Dico the second time after 2018 and it was amazing! Great location with friendly staff! We saw Tina as well in the famous Elbphi in Hamburg … but this was more intime with a closer contact! Great!

I cannot recommend this beautiful venue enough for any concert. I recommend getting there early in order to secure a good seat. Long queues and no alcohol allowed past a certain point. It is a church after all. Finishing time is 22:00.

From the minute I walked in I was seated. We saw the amazing Romeo and Juliet. Great night, cast and venue. A special mention to the lovely, kind, and professional Tessa. She went out of her way to serve our party. Thank you. We will all come back

Fab venue. Good acoustics, nice size (intimate yet big enough to get a crowd buzz), great views from upstairs. Architecture is wonderful.

Best music venue/chapel! Great atmosphere and so well organised.

A great place to go to watch live music. The stage is high enough for everyone in the stalls to see. Only negative- only tap water available inside and no re-entry allowed.

We saw Julian Lage, excellent jazz guitarist here. It is a large victorian hexagonal church with wonderful acoustics. The gig was amazing. However the venue filled up incredibly quickly and we struggled to find a place to sit with a good view. Eventually we sat up in the gods but we had a clear view of the entire stage. The sound was still good.

Beautiful, atmospheric working Chapel and concert venue. Marc Cohn presented a fantastic concert here recently (see pictures). The Chapel is warm and approached up shallow stairs. Presumably there are provisions for the disabled, although I am not certain of this. Also bear in mind that you sit down on pews, not padded seats!

This is a very impressive venue. From the outside it looks like an imposing gothic building but inside its intimate and inviting. I was here for a large conference. The only problem was that it was cold, freezing cold. Either there is no heating or its completely dysfunctional. Other than that its fabulous.

First visit and very impressed. Beautiful setting for live music. Great acoustics. Can be a little awkward to navigate - uneven surfaces, narrow walkways - but this is an old building, so not unexpected.

Such a great seated music venue (not so good if you want to jump and dance). Stunning building, beautifully lot, great views of the stage, good sound, friendly staff and (pre-covid) quirky food and drink offer.

Beautiful venue, although the church acoustics is not the most ideal for live music. Very well organised and friendly staff

  • 5/5 Sam G. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing place for a gig - perfectly suited to folk. Great views from the pews, but they are hard on the bum! There is a bar but no alcohol in the chapel itself which is where the performance will be
