While there are certainly aspects of the gym that can be appreciated, there are significant issues that have been affecting overall satisfaction. Firstly, the spaciousness of facility is perfect, as well as the convenient parking options available, making it a promising choice for many fitness enthusiasts. The gym's layout across two floors is indeed an advantage, providing a wide range of workout spaces. However, these positive aspects are overshadowed by the glaring maintenance and hygiene issues that persist at this establishment. The consistent presence of broken machines is disheartening, and it appears that the management is not addressing this concern seriously. A well-maintained facility is vital to ensuring a safe and enjoyable workout environment. It is imperative that immediate attention is given to repairing and maintaining these machines to provide a seamless experience for your members. A significant problem with VENTILATION, particularly on the SECOND FLOOR of the gym. The POOR AIR CIRCULATION and lack of effective ventilation have led to an unpleasant environment, which is akin to a "cesspool of sweat." This not only negatively impacts the comfort of your members but also raises concerns about the overall hygiene and health of the gym-goers. In recent times, this issue has become even more pronounced, making it difficult for people to breathe during workouts. This is unacceptable and should be addressed urgently to ensure the well-being of your members. I sincerely hope that my feedback, as well as that of other members, will be taken seriously by the management. Neglecting these issues risks losing a substantial number of customers to nearby gyms that provide a more satisfactory and safer workout experience. In addition to addressing these concerns, I also recommend that The Gym Group invest in expanding the range of equipment available. This would not only attract new members but also retain existing ones who are seeking a more varied workout routine. A well-equipped gym is a key selling point, and investing in newer, functional equipment will undoubtedly boost the gym's reputation and popularity. In conclusion, I have faith that The Gym Group, Ilford Romford Road, can take the necessary steps to rectify these issues and elevate the overall member experience. I look forward to witnessing improvements in machine maintenance, enhanced ventilation, and an expanded range of equipment in the near future. Thank you for your attention to these concerns, and I hope to see positive changes that will benefit all members of the gym. ———— Further edit there is bad condensation on the second floor windows and walls, mould in the corner of the gym which is growing bad each day. It is clear they don’t care about their members it’s just a money grabbing corp. I will be uploading pictures soon. I’ve added some photos for example.

The worst club. The most irresponsible, the dirtiest. For three months, the devices are broken and unusable. We reported to the club manager several times, but still after three months, they only promise lies. We had to change the club. This club Only the monthly money is important to him. The satisfaction of the athletes is not important to him at all. In our opinion, it is not a suitable club and the equipment is dangerous and old. Thank you.

Overall Excellent Gym good value; Pros; Staff freindly & professional Gym toilets and shower kept clean Easy going gym goers, good crowd Free parking Wifi Wheel Chair Accesable lockers Good selection of resistance machines and free weights. Cons Upper Chest Machine doesnt hit upper chest properly. Repairs take too long. Weights are often strewn around the gym. Very crowded at peak times. Appalling state of equipment. Seat of bicycle came off. No weight bar on seated press(unable to change weights), broken hip abduction machine. It’s a shame as the gym group usually has pretty decent standard. It would be nice if they fixed those equipment issues as the gym was clean, very friendly staff members and there is also free parking.

I've been coming here since April. Sometimes the app is really good and accurately displays how busy it is but sometimes I also think it's inaccurate. However what really brings this place down is that the machinery is poorly maintained and cleaned. Since coming here I don't think anyone has cleaned the treadmills apart from the people cleaning up after themselves after using the equipment.

Hi started going to the gym on Romford Road in September 2020. When I went there I was 95kg and now I am 73kg. I don't think I could have achieved this anywhere else. I was constantly supported by the staff, shown techniques and given advice. I was also encouraged by the staff which kept me motivated to go. The equipment is top of the range and is always available. Even the fellow gym members are very helpful and support each other. I would highly recommend joining the gym group on Romford road.

I’ve been going to this gym for a month and although I do feel better about myself, I have a few issues. I don’t think the gym is very beginner friendly and it can be intimidating for newbies. There aren’t any classes at beginner level. I’ve only attended one class and although I did feel the burn, it was way too advanced for me and I couldn’t walk or sit properly for a week. I know pain is normal after intense work outs and especially when you’re not used to it but I’m assuming more beginner level classes could avoid this as it can still be effective but not strenuous. Nobody shows you how to use the equipment and the staff aren’t very welcoming either, I have to admit. My interactions with the short personal trainer with the long braids have also been underwhelming. He walked into me yesterday and Made a weird face. Also the barcode entry never works for the changing room and sometimes for the main doors.

Great gym! Also has the East London "you're going to get murdered in the parking lot" vibe that gives a great pre-workout adrenaline boost, for those heavy lifts!

I left my things in the locker overnight as I was not able to train and thought I'd come back the next morning but my locker was broken into and my stuff was stolen. Staff weren't helpful either. Guy said it may have been the cleaners. We checked lost property and nothing there. UNACCEPTABLE!!

Gym is extremely spacious, great variety of equipment and well kept. You can tell the staff work hard to keep this gym in immaculate condition. Staff are very humble, respectful and always happy to help. Alongside great equipment and staff they have free parking right outside the facility which makes this the best gym in the area in my opinion considering the price for membership. Really impressed, can’t fault at all.

This gym is probably the biggest, however you gotta choose your time carefully. Avoid 10:00-13:00 and in the evening 18:00-21:00. Best time to go early morning 4-7am

Normal commercial gym aside from the fact it's basically a sauna. A little bit of ventilation upstairs won't kill anyone. The windows are literally wet from condensation, it can't be a healthy environment to work out in.

PT Faze is an amazing personal trainer. Been doing 1 to 1 boxing session with him for the past few weeks. It’s been an amazing experience and been learning how to box really fast in this classes. Highly recommend for any muscle building or martial arts training.

I usually do my abs workout in the ground floor, near the mirror area because all the required equipments are available there. This morning when I started doing my workout in the same place as usual, one of the gym members (Mitchel Taunton) came and asked me to wait for 10 more minutes as there was some training going on. There were just 3 people under training and there was enough place for me to do my workout. Even then I was asked to wait or else go upstairs in a very rude way. Which is very inappropriate way of approach. If there is some training going on as such, they should put a notice board , saying that the place is occupied instead of asking me to just leave after starting my workout. I was with my friends and they've faced the same issue and they would also like to raise the complaint on the same issue.

Been going here for a while, decent gym. Has all equipment you need, sometimes some machines are placed two or more times throughout the gym which is great. The free weights are all over the place and needs some more strict staff so the members obey the rules. Other then that good value. Would recommend if you are only starting your fitness journey now as members are often friendly.

Their sensor wash basin MUST GO! The sensor is set to time out so quick that it's even hard to fill up a clasp of water without having to press down again. I understand the element of saving water but there's a fine line between that and nuisance. You just won't expect the airbag to deploy everytime you break slightly harder than normal is a good analogy of this situation. SORT OUT THE SINK TAP SENSORS!

Horrible gym, packed 24/7. There's a lack of space to move about and available machinery, I find it very demoralising and anxiety inducing. Will be going to the PureGym in Ilford instead.

Plates and dumbbells are NEVER re-racked, I’ve honestly never been to a gym with worse etiquette, it takes you at least 5 minutes to find plates from the other side of the gym on the barbell in the middle of everything. Equipment in general is passable, the gym is relatively empty in off-peak hours.

I was for 2 years on this gym ,I quit, and now I'm back. Everything you want and need in a gym ,a lot of machines, for example you have at least 5 bench press, along of dumbbells, water, lockers, juice ,protein bars, instructors, showers, a big parking area and important you have 24/7 access. If you want to go to a gym this is the place. Of course in the evening is quite crowded, but is the same in any gym you will go, but, having so many machines around you ,you can do your work out without any problems. I highly recommend this gym,if you want to build some muscle or to stay in shape ,go there and you will not regret. Trust me I was in several gyms and I know what I'm talking about and for £22/ months is more than ok. There are all the time alternatives you can pay hundreds for fancy gyms, instructors , programs, etc ,but at the end of the day if you go to gym YOU must work and sweat.

Great gym, however here is the but..place has been closed last few days with no notice to customers, Toilets are not always clean once soap dispencer box was empty during one vist which was a shocker. Most customers visit for weight lifting too much empty space, could be better if they moved the dumbell rack on top floor behined the free weight bench press area by the window and move to empty area on 2nd floor and add some more benches at least that would help space people out when busy

I joined the gym group after being told about PT faze hussain who is a specialist in many fields such as weight loss, kickboxing and training to improve health related illness, i have diabetes and blood pressure. The sessions are great i feel so much more confident and my diabetes is under Control now alongside blood pressure. I used to suffer from back and neck pain and after attending sessions the pain is now gone. I feel like Daily i have more energy and iam very grateful for my trainer Faze hussain who has not only helped me physically with a targeted training plan but also mentaly through his motivational words i feel like i can achieve anything. None of this could of been Possible without my trainer. Every gym needs a coach like Faze hussain.

Not very facilitated. If you put weights some where and go to bring water or8 something some one will take it. You always have to wander for locks ,hooks etc .

I’ve been going to this Gym for a while now and it's very spacious, staff members are always very polite, friendly and helpful. The equipments are on point and extremely amazing! Definitely if anyone finding a gym to go to, I HIGHLY recommend ‘The Ilford Romford Road’. :)

Regardless of the size of the gym and vast amount of equipment, hygiene should come first. No soap dispenser in mens toilets for weeks which is disgusting and unhygienic. No anti bac sprays on gym floor or tissues anymore. Been removed. People leave sweat grease and skin all over the benches and u cant even clean them. It’s disgusting. People are going to the toilet without washing their hands due to no soap then touching equipment. Its a breeding ground for bacteria and diseases. Also found a bloody tissue left on the counter in the mens changing rooms. Theres always hair on the counter top aswell. 0/10 hygiene. Its a health hazard in there.

A nice clean tidy gym. Only thing I'd suggest is can you please add more 2.5kg and 1.25kg plates? There are literally only two pairs of 1.25kg plates, and I have raised this with the gym staff and also in the members area repeatedly, but haven't heard back. It would be such an easy thing to fix. All members use those small plates for their progressive overload work.

I've been coming to this gym 5 days a week for 7 months, love it but just got a £100 parking ticket from GroupNexus for parking in the car park during my session, which was only 30 minutes on the day.

Where do I even start, One of the best comforting gyms I've been to. I've been going to this gym since I was in year 11. The staff are so nice and certi. Loads of memories in this gym, it is a good place to work out. Hygiene isn't much of a problem. If you have a problem with the peak hours, then simply don't come in during the peak hours🤦‍♂️. See loads of familiar faces when I go to this place gives me a second home feeling. Also, They helped rectify a problem with my gym membership And cannot thank them enough for helping me out. Ml to all the staffs.

Too packed most of the time. Needs more benches for the amount of people who visit here everyday. Most people here do weight training. Then, why on earth is there so many cardio machines upstairs? Most of the cardio machine are either broken or rarely used. But, there are soo many people just waiting for a bench. Clearly, the management don't even know what's going on in their own gym. Toilets are disgusting to say the least. Lockers don't come with locks.

I joined the gym in Sept to strengthen my upper body and train for the mountain in South America. PT Faz Hussain has been giving me 1 to 1 training every week. 1 to 1 training has helped me to improve my stamina and endurance. I feel more confident every week. His training is very good and has motivated me to continue. Thanks

I am sharing my recent bad experience at the gymgroup on Romford road. I booked a personal Trainer: Faisal Hussain for 10 sessions. First and second session went fine. On session 3 he turned me away saying he is sick but didn't message me at all before the session. For 3 I had to chase for 2 weeks to get a session at the time I wanted. He kept saying he is going to give me session but didn't. He finally gave me a session in jan. For session 4 he didn't turn up. When I messaged him he became rude, disrespectful and emotionally abusive. Calling me names instead of apologising. I waited 32 mins for him in the gym for my session. I asked him for refund but he didn't refund me. I found his behaviour unacceptable, rude and disrespectful. I have completely lost trust in the gymgroup. Do not hire this pt because he will take your money and not give you service and never refund you.

I’ve been with The Gym on and off since this Ilford Romford Road branch first opened. In the past I’ve joined numerous different gyms ranging from my local leisure centre to big franchises but I always end up coming back to this one. The one thing that has remained consistent is the teams professionalism and client centred approach to their job, they’re always friendly and very helpful. No matter how many silly questions I have, they take the time to answer them in a way that I can easily understand. I’ve never had a personal trainer as I’ve been too scared and embarrassed but speaking to Faze really put me at ease, he makes fitness information so fun to learn and easy to understand. His sessions are hard work but so worth it, it made me realise that what I was doing without a trainer just wouldn’t have gotten me the results I’ve been looking for. I genuinely hurt so good lol!
