Brilliant little gallery that shows the work of artists from around the world with a strong focus on contemporary African artists. Staff are supper friendly and always knowledgeable and willing to discuss the works. Lovely outside space too where you can take time to relax and enjoy the urban green space and the toilets are among the cleanest, well kept I have come across (and full of plants too) 😄. There is a small library of books for purchase and always a good leaflet to accompany the show giving some background info. Not sure if the gallery is fully accessible as there are steps to the front but there may well be another access point so do check. Some good pubs and restaurants nearby. Excellent show on at the moment so well worth a visit.

Fantastic Space! But the Art work left a lot to be desired! A Tommy Cooper guy photographed on Cotton Clouds tumbling about sprinkled with talcom powder just left me cold!

Full Covid safety procedures in place at the moment...(August 2020) So I fully recommend to get along and see some great art. Lovely outside seating area full of beautiful sculptures which is definitely worth seeing.

I booked the upstairs venue for my book launch, and it couldn't have gone better. It's a lovely space: was perfect for 60 - 70 guests with room for food tables, some room still for milling around. Pavel and the other staff were friendly and welcoming, and I'm definitely going to come back and sit in the beautiful little garden in the summer. I would definitely recommend this place for the price and would be glad to work with Pavel and his staff again. Thanks!

I have to confess my visit to October Gallery was not to see the gallery but to attend the launch party for Richard Morton Jack's new biography of Nick Drake, which all music lovers should buy immediately! The setting was charming, the catering was excellent and the little courtyard at the back is a real gem. I may go back on an ordinary day!

Lovely gallery with a gorgeous, tranquil garden. Food feels like home and the atmosphere is great. Glad I discovered this gem such a central location.

I love where the gallery is situated, its architecture, garden and café. The latest small Sokari Douglas Camp exhibition was amazing. It is also very well organised for school children to spend their art classes. I trully recommend it. Definitely coming back :D

This is an oasis in London. Always a wonderful artshow in progress. If the cafe is open go and have a lunch and enjoy the botanical garden in the central courtyard!! You can also rent spaces here!

A Hidden Gem! I visited the gallery to view the Hassan Massoudy exibition. Beautfully curated, it was a real testament to his talent. The gallery was compact, but still had a pleasant sense of spaciousness. Comfortable temperature & relaxed, unhurried atmosphere, the staff were both friendly & engaging. I enjoyed an informative discussion on Massoudy with a lovely member of staff. The toilet was a real surprise- almost Victorian in style & filled with beautiful plants! The whole experience at the October Gallery was very positive. I can't wait to return for the new exibition & sample cuisine at the restaurant! Do not miss this lovely gallery!

We visited the charming little October Gallery garden as part of the Open Garden Squares Weekend. While we were there, we also checked out the "Fragile Responsibility" exhibition by Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga's which was very interesting. A great place for anyone interested in contemporary international art.

I organised a concert at the October Gallery, consisting of contemporary chamber music, preceded by a reception. The Gallery's Theatre space proved ideal for the occasion, and the help by their staff was excellent, being suitably flexible and supportive. The Club Room proved to be an ideal green room, and the kitchen (though very small) was useful for the preparation of the reception. The location, in central London, was simply perfect!

This is one of my favourite galleries in London... They always have a engaging exhibition or performance on. The atrium is a lovely place to hang out. The cafe has lively treats...

Very relaxing place to have lunch. It's a gallery with the cafe tables in amongst the art. It's free to enter. The menu feels home cooked by enthusiastic people and is therefore limited in scope (there were 3 choices) but not limited in quality.

My favourite gallery in London! Really recommend to visit, every month there are new exhibitions and the artists are invited at the gallery. October Gallery is magic 🌟

North of Theobald's Rd., between Southampton Row to the west and Boswell St. to the East. (small street won't appear on some tourist maps, nor the Gallery be mentioned, which is a shame.). Nice little playpark for children with exercise equipment for adults is next to it on the very quiet street. Very cheerful and helpful staff, their knowledge adding immensely to the enjoyment of the art, presented with generous space around each work. Selection of books and booklets about the displayed artists and others. Only spent time in the Gallery, so musn't opine on other features. Check opening times- may not be open until after 12:30.

Saw El Anatsui here, currently showing Vandy. Lovely venue. Every visit reminds me of my art school days @ Central (1974-78) where every day was heavenly - making it all the more meaningful. Absolutely love to exhibit here.

I went to October Gallery to see Lisa Vandy's exhibition. I guess your experience there will be largely dictated by what's on at the time - Lisa's exhibition was excellent - but in general it's a very nice space with a bar and lovely garden area, and a highly recommended gallery.

Really tranquil place in the middle of busy central London. Small gallery with a mini courtyard and places to explore. It also has a great little canteen/good offering which is healthy and tastes fab too. Definitely worth a short visit if you are in the area.

An island within an Island.... This is one well kept secret in this part of London. Amazing space with beautiful garden in the courtyard. Keep an eye for interesting art exhibitions on their website and get ready to have your mind blown....

I was here for El Anatsui. For me galleries generally are all warm enclosures with white walls. It’s who they feature or bring that affects the ratings and OG brought a true star

I attend seminars here. 5 minutes walk from Holborn station that serves the central and piccadilly lines. The venue can be rented for business gatherings and other activities. There is a bar and catering facilities can be delivered.

A lovely artistic place. Great talent at october gallery. I went there and saw the work of artist Alexis Peskine. Will definitely return. Marvelous!

This wonderful, friendly arts venue has been dedicated to promoting the arts in all it's forms for 40 years now and this place is an absolute gem. Tucked away from Holborn this lovely building is built in an impressive arts and crafts style. With a high vaulted beam ceiling the October gallery's top floor provides good acoustics making this an ideal place for performances of every kind. Other rooms in this busy building afford good space for exhibitions.

October Gallery recently hosted my company for a staff training day and it was a wonderful experience. Pavel and his team were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that the event went smoothly. We rented the Theatre room, which is beautifully designed, functional, and provided plenty of space to accommodate 25 of us. I recommend hiring the gallery's caterer, Amy, who supplied us with a delicious lunch, in the room, and accommodated for various dietary needs. If you are visiting to see a gallery exhibition, you can sample some of her creations at the cafe. The location is excellent, hidden in a little Victorian lane near Russell Square Gardens. And all of this comes at a very reasonable price. I have definitely become an advocate for hiring the gallery for any company event. What a gem!
