Almost got trampled by the crowd as everyone tried to collect their jackets from the Cloakroom. There was zero organization at the top of the stairway to the Cloakroom. I can't believe how many of the staff just stood by watching it just get worse. It was very unsafe. The staff in the blue vests were helpful and on it. Thanks to all of them: entrance/blue vest Cloakroom guy/stage staff were great. Now for the concert: I went to see the Dreamland show featuring Kes and many wonderful surprise artists. I will give Troxy staff credit for handing out water and keeping an eye on those near the front to make sure nothing got out of control. The show was amazing. Thanks to the advice from my taxi driver who mentioned that I would need to walk down away from the Troxy or the taxis wouldn't pick up. He was right! Unlike many concert venues there's zero wifi at the Troxy.

Came here to see a soca band called Kes. Shaggy made a surprise visit. He still got it. Haha. Kes were excellent. I love every song they have. Lots of positive vibes. That's soca for you! That's why I love it so much! The venue is very good, feels smaller compared to other live music venues such as Roundhouse in Camden... but maybe it's because of the layout that it feels a bit more intimate. I'd say the sound system needs improving. I'm not sure if it was the band's own system (I doubt it that they carried it from Trinidad!). It's loud yes but it's not very clear, there was a bit of distortion.

Great venue in the east end of London, an old bingo hall with some nice features. Really good music venue but sound needs to be slightly better, couldn't hear the singer as clearly as I have at other venues. Toilets are a nightmare but apparently are being refurbished, bars are the usual...some staff good some not so, good selection of beers are available but a bit pricey as always. Not too far a walk from the DLR or mainline stations at Limehouse and a few good pubs nearby. Hard-Fi were amazing live!

Pros- Very quick to get in and great view of the raised stage wherever you stand. Cons - the sound is pretty poor (imo). The queue for bars before the main act, the toilets and the cloakroom at the end of the night are horrendous. Definitely not my favourite London music venue.

The place is fairly disorganised, has a poor sound but the tickets are cheap. Though they charge 4 pounds for a coat and additional 4 for the bag, not cool. I wouldn't go there once again because of the acoustics.

Great venue, stage is a little high with lighting possibly obscuring view if you are close to the barrier (not an issue for me as over 6ft tall). 10min walk from Limehouse station. Has a queue policy of 11am that day, you'll be turned away before that. Although doesn't seem to follow through on this, as people were queueing from 8pm the night before. The event organisers may have requested the dispensation, so do keep in mind that the policy is on the website. There is also some seating on the balcony that have tables, which is a nice touch. Generally friendly staff and helpful security. Plenty of bar space to get your drinks. At time of writing, a pint was £6.50

Lovely venue. They looked after my accessibility needs. Great view from the circle seats. Sound could have been better though.

Beautiful 1920's building. Attended the Backyard Cinema Christmas Spectacular opening night. Was decorated beautifully. However, I felt the chairs were not very comfortable to sit and watch a movie in. Plus it felt very draughty inside.

Great venue. Very big and spacious. It has a decent size dance floor. There is plenty of seating in the upper level. There's a smoking area on the roof. Well organised and friendly staff.

Very decent venue, went to see slowdive here on the 3rd. I stood on the second floor behind the barrier on a sort of balcony? Which gave a good view over people in the pit. The art deco style was cool and similar to other venues, easy transport by DLR as it’s just a quick walk from there to the venue. Music was very loud so I would recommend eye plugs if you have sensitive ears, although that might just be cause I saw a shoegaze gig. There was a decent bar, got two half pints for £8 which is a bit steep but oh well. Would recommend.

I had a great time at the Dreamcatcher show, but it was their own staff that had to essentially control everything because Troxy security was awful. Nobody seemed to know where people needed to queue and the security guard who decided to take control of that was very abrasive with everyone despite the crowd being just confused. We also saw him arguing with other security guards over where people needed to line up because we were told to line up in different places by different staff members VIP ticket holders were left at the back of the venue for a long time before the event organisers themselves came to take us to get our VIP wristbands. The Troxy security guard who decided he was in charge of taking people for VIP wristbands seemed to vanish after leaving us. The staff doing wristbands were confused why nobody was coming up because we were made to wait down the street by Troxy staff and were told we could only go up when he came and got us in small groups, which he was doing at an alarmingly slow rate considering it takes 5 seconds to get the wristband and we had a specific time window to collect them in. Whilst going in for our VIP meet & greet people were pushing and getting dangerous and made some people in the line panic, and when someone asked security to step in they claimed that it wasn’t for them to deal with. I’m not sure why security was even there since they didn’t try to keep things safe. It seemed like the head of the event staff had to take over crowd control and organising lines for the whole day and had a lot of issues with the Troxy staff herself. The only good thing security did was hand out water from the front of the stage throughout the show. Overall it felt extremely disorganised and unsafe at times and I would try to avoid attending a show at this venue going forward. The reason I gave the 2 stars was the accessible bar and good view of the stage (though we only got to stand that close because of Dreamcatcher/MMT’s staff organising the crowds).

Great night seeing STAYC, view not too bad for general standing tickets, the venue could have been better though. No hand soap in the toilets which were horrific, hand dryers not working. The security check was a bit pointless as they didn't really look at much, security was also a bit aggy. It took ages to get everyone in the building and it wasn't clear at all which line was the standard and which was the VIP, staff weren't particularly helpful. Once inside, it wasn't very clear on how to proceed, there was a massive merch line which could have been marshalled better or the merch booth moved elsewhere as this slowed down the amount of people that could be let in and added to the confusion of "where the hell do I go?" Key takeaways are, staff need some training on customer interaction, toilets should be maintained more frequently, better signage and communication to customers on where to go. Overall a great experience though, hope STAYC come to London again.

The venue leaves something to be desired, too small toilets and understaffed bars mean enormous queues in all directions and poor ventilation means, despite the size of the place you will get drenched if the crowd is as exuberant as Specials crowd were! That all said the heat did create a kind of intensity to go along with top notch performances, powerful audio and decent lighting, plus there was plenty of room to dance despite the place feeling packed. All in all a great night was had by all!

I visited for Twoset Violin. My communication with the venue started months before the event, as I have access needs! A huge shout out to Elisa the ticketing manager for answering my endless emails and being so friendly and helpful. The event itself was very enjoyable, and I didn't notice any issues with the sound system. Staff were friendly and very helpful! You buy tickets through the Dice app which is a bit frustrating as you can't select your seats. I also wasn't able to select a carer/PA ticket, thankfully Elisa sorted me out with one later, but it meant it was a bit more awkward trying to fit my PA in. It was a little disorganised at first with security moving queues to different areas a few times. Long queues for ladies toilets downstairs which the signs did warn of. Lights seemingly broken in the ladies loos at the rear of the auditorium, meaning had to go in the dark or by phone light. No loo roll in the accessible toilet. No major issues however.

Good venue and sound, a little cramped in the circle seating; I'm 6ft 2" and it was a bit tight. Good sound and relatively small with a good view of the stage. Worth a visit I think!

Gorgeous venue with very snug seating - the sound system upstairs needs improving but there was a lively vibe. The bar staff and door team were friendly and efficient. I’d love to give five stars but £7.50 for as pint is extreme. I know venues are struggling but so are we.

Quite a large venue for shows, theatre, gigs, performances and stand up comedy. I went to listen to a talk by Gabor Maté on Trauma, Illness and Healing. It was a sold out crowd of 2000 people, and the chairs were all portable. Decent bar but hardly any food available. Only a couple of varieties of crisps. The staff were corteous, helpful and friendly.

Really nice venue, quite small but an excellent view (i was three rows from the back and still managed to take good photos) Liked the option to sit in a booth further towards the stage and would be good to go with a group of friends. STAN P1HARMONY 💚

Really cool venue with a lot of history. Loved the style of the place for a live show/ dj night. Waiting time for bars wasn’t too bad, but recommend bringing a jacket you can tie around waist as cloakroom queue looked immense.

Unique and beautiful! The Troxy concert venue in London is ace! I've been to see The Violent Femmes and Le Tigre here, and both time have been memorable. The venue itself is stunning, with its art deco architecture and spacious layout. The sound quality is top-notch as well. The staff are friendly and attentive, making sure everyone had a great time. I’m appreciative of their accessibility policy, and the little outdoor area at the top of the venue where you can vape/smoke. Hoping there’ll be more gigs for me to attend here in the future. One of my favourite London venues for sure.

Troxy is a great venue. I would recommend getting out from under the balcony if you're standing downstairs as from there the sound of people talking was almost as loud as the band. Further forward on the lower level of the ground floor the sound quality was great and it's a really beautiful auditorium. The cloakroom was cash only and felt a bit pricey at £4 for a bag. In retrospect I could have just taken it into the auditorium with me, so worth checking first before you part with your money.

Lovely Art Deco venue. We saw Psy Trance act Infected Mushroom there, and there's loads of room to dance and great lighting. Drinks were pricey at £10 for a Bacardi and coke though, and not in the best of areas, but Limehouse station is just down the road.

Very hot night for Siouxsie Siouxe, but security were constantly handing out water to those at the front who then passed them back. Visibility was OK, lower floor pretty flat so being 6ft plus helps.

An Art Deco gem in the East End, The Troxy is a Grade II listed building that was built as a cinema in 1933. In 1960 it became a training school for the London Opera Centre and in the 1980s was a bingo hall. Finally in 2006 the building was converted to today’s fantastic live events and concert venue. Long live The Troxy!

A beautiful 1930s interior, wide gently sloping stalls for standing and seated circle. Excellent views of stage except towards the back. Good cloakroom service and speedy efficient service at long well stocked and staffed bars. All in all a terrific venue, and easier to get to than you initially think.

Saw Siouxsie and the Banshees here Sept 7th. Lovely Deco theatre. Not large so concerts feel more intimate than huge arenas. NOTE... three bars in circle... awesome and with efficient service. Note..Circle seats. If you are taller than 5ft 8in then you will have an issue with trying to sit down. There are bucket airlines with more knee and leg room. We were in Row K and tall person next to us luckily was able to move over a seat so he could extend his knees either side of the seat in front. Note.. there is a smoking area somewhere in the circle. If you are bothered by the smell of ciggies, then choose sitting in stalls, or perhaps centre of circle. Note.. be proud that you are watching your performer and saving the planet. Yes, even though London was in the upper 80Fs, and everyone was slick wet, Troxy has no air conditioning, so credit yourself those carbon credits.

Very nice venue but having to wait 20-30 minutes to buy a pint for £7.50 was very disappointing. For £7.50 a pint should be able to afford the staff to pour pints. Actually saved some money as couldn't be bothered to stand in queue. Not a good business model. Also ran out of some brands. Shouldn't happen. Lots of 'security' people around could easily have been employed at the bars. As I say, shame, as a good size venue with decent sound.

Went here last month for a YouTube film premiere and had an okay experience at Troxy. As it was a sold-out event, 1.6k seats occupied, the queue to enter was very long and the venue itself was naturally jam-packed. This made it particularly hard to access a restroom (only one available on the night) and just move around in general. Having said that, stewards did their best to facilitate large crowds when entering/exiting the event which balanced things out. Another * lost as the sound quality left much to be desired, with being sat front row the last thing I expected was an unnecessarily loud speaker that frustrated and affected my viewing experience for the entire duration of the film.

I came here for the Taylor Swift club night which was amazing. As it’s a concert venue it felt much nicer than a regular club, and much less dark and dingy, but it was still very vibey and fun. The bar service was quick. The queue for the toilets took ages though.

Great venue, central London prices. Overall one of East Londons iconic venues, just off Limehouse DLR station. Very nice decor and sound system, but could be but louder. The main floor area has one lower space next to stage with benches opposite it. Spacious balcony area (closed on smaller events), couple of bars, cloakroom, decent toilets. 7 quid for a pint atm. It normally hosts events on the pricier tkt range but went there for a metal gig, 4 bands under 40 quid, can't complaint. There aren't any good food places around, in fact it's bi t of a dead area so no afters there. Not much of partking around either. There were selling food I side at the gig I went but no idea where they selling it. Very open feel, with good view of the stage from all areas. Good security, nice vibes.
