THE RESTAURANT REFUSED EXTRA SAMBAR! Looks like from Christmas 2023, the manager/owner put a new rule that only 1 additional serving of sambar and the chutneys will be provided, beyond which it will be chargeable (at £2.5 per additional sambar bowl). There’s multiple problems with this: 1. It is BLASPHEMOUS! It’s like refusing additional ketchup at McD or extra oregano/chilli flakes at an Italian restaurant. Back in south India you should be thankful if there’s no war arising from this. 2. The oversized dosai was about 2.5x the regular size but the sambar cup was so tiny. For a small dosai, one would bare minimum have 3-4 cups of that alone, and for this huge one, just 2 tiny cups? I heard so much about the restaurant form multiple people but this is utter disappointing. Not like I asked for a whole bucket of it anyway, in which case I might still understand. 3. Nowhere was there a mention/ disclaimer of the sambar being chargeable. Even if it was, 2 cups is definitely not enough. If the restaurant wants to cut costs, pls figure out other ways. It’s very rude to refuse customers extra sambar and chutney and definitely is not a reflection of the South Indian culture. I gave additional star for service only because the waiters were actually very humble and would’ve happily given more servings otherwise if not for the orders from the higher ups.

Delicious food, friendly staff and very clean place to eat. Loved the traditional filter coffee and masala chai. Wonderful experience must try if you like vegetarian food specially South Indian.

Very nice food. The venue is very clean and the staff are friendly. I only had 2 items from the venue but both were very nice.

The food is amazing except for Chilli Babycorn starter which has too much of sauce added. We ordered for two and it costs about 30 pounds for 5 dishes. Sambhar vada and Veg briyani is the best.

Love this vegetarian restaurant in East Ham! Food is always tasty and they have their own unique flavour for each dish! Service is also great with friendly and happy staff. What did I order? Chilli Paneer, szchewan Noodle, Veg Spring Rolls, Butter Paneer Masala and Naan. Oh and a Falooda The only thing that annoyed me was the menu says 4 portions next to the spring rolls and I get 2 rolls cut in half! For the price I expected 4 spring rolls but the waitress kindly tried to explain, and while not her fault, management needs to know this! Hence 4* and not 5. But otherwise, definitely try this place! You will like the taste 👌

Been here for the first time. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice. They have a combination of South Indian and North Indian food which is difficult to find. Liked all the items we have ordered here. And they have 3 or 4 options for thalis as well. Will surely visit again next time.

I cannot sing enough praises of this gem of a place. I had gone into a nearby restaurant to ask for dessert and they very kindly and honestly pointed me to taste of India. As a group we ordered a Falooda, a jigarthanda, and filter coffee . Each of these were top notch and it felt like being back in India. And that my dear friends is why I would love to be back here for more and would recommend that you give it a go if you are missing home and happen to be in the area. You know what, this place is worth a drive of an hour .

They have quite a lot of outlets all over London. They tend to be busy to you could have to wait sometime before you get a table. Food is good. Definitely worth a visit when you miss Indian food. Value for money. Tasty and good portions are served.

One of the best pure vegetarian food restaurant in east london. Must try mango lassi. All South Indian food is vary delicious. Fix meal like Panjabi dish, South Indian dish and Test of india dish are also available. Apart from food, hotel is hygiene with good management. After order maximum waiting time for food is 10-15 minutes. Even in weekdays Restorant is super busy. Just like name you will get test of india.

Was extremely craving Masala Dosa and found this restaurant near my location and thought of giving it a try. It did satisfy my dosa cravings! Then for desserts, we absolutely loved falooda and gulab jamun! 👍🏻 Giving 3 STARS for the SERVICE because the waiters LITERALLY stand on your neck to take the plates while you are enjoying your last bite …found it absolutely absurd as the seats were empty and really don’t understand what’s the rush about? 🫤

This was our first visit to East Ham. Visited this place on strong recommendation from friends. We ordered various dishes like Medu vada , noodles , masala dosa , falooda etc. for me medu vada was the best and falooda was great in desserts.

Great veggie grub, certainly a nicer, cleaner restaurant compared to the others on this street. I loved the methi battura and chick pea curry, the 5 taster dosa was really good value as well.

Always the best food and awesome service here. Less additives to the food as I always bulk up my plates and finish up. I never give five stars, that's a statement in it's own right.

I have absolutely loved this place for years; a true hidden gem! Its wide, authentic and totally vegetarian pan-Indian variety, beautiful asthetic setting and its vibe - especially on busy nights - puts it as an unbeatable Indian restaurant! Whether you're looking for a South Indian lunch with dosas, medhu varas and pongal, or a Punjabi dinner with paneer curries, saag and naan, or whatever, look no further than Taste of India! 💯

We have been here many times and never been disappointed. All dishes are delicious. Their idli, vada, sambhar are authentic in taste and served piping hot. We tried american chopsey this time it was really nice. Reminded indo chinese restaurant taste like you get in India. Ideally I would have wanted more spicy but no complains. Definitely recommend. Although the paan is £1.65 but taste is ok. Its dry and not really any gulkand taste

Normally they are really good but not happy with the portion size and price of the mini idly. £4.30 for 6 1/2 idly’s. I get it’s mini but any smaller will be a size skittle! It’s a shame as I know how tough it has been on small businesses. Doesn’t help having experiences like this.

Keep coming back here from very far away for the excellent south indian dishes like dosas and idli. They make the best Falooda. And great veg noodles. Most importantly, every time ww come Mr.Sadiq is there to welcome us and make sure that everything is fine. Sadiq sir makes us feel at home ! The rest of the staff is also very friendly . Cannot recommend enough!

Very nice place, especially for families and vegeterian. Very convenient for London. I really enjoyed the Gobi Man Dry, my girlfriend, from Maharashtra told me should be more crispy, I don't know but I loved it. The dosa is nice but can improved also the chutney is good but on average. The staff is very kind and always available for any issue. There is a nice comunity atmosphere, truly Indian. If you are in East Ham you should try it.

Amazing vegetarian Indian food... probably one of the most authentic places in London where to try very fresh indian platters. The service could be improved, but, all considered, they are effective and quick in a very busy environment, so not to complain. The food is not greasy, nor oily, nor reheated...just fresh, vibrant ingredients in a menu that will leave you overwhelmed by its great variety. Definitely a great spot to immerse in the Indian culture and have an unusual culinary experience.

Overall food quality is excellent. Dosas are lovely- not greasy, served hot and crispy. Portion sizes of starters are very generous. The service isn't the best- we felt pressured to eat quickly. One member of staff kept trying to take our glasses which still had some drink remaining in it. Also price of juice is rather high- we spent more on drinks than on food.

Totally recommend this restaurant. My family and I have lunch regularly there, because the food is so delicious and tasty, also the service is so prompt and helpful. The dishes are traditional South-Indian and North-Indian as well and very authentic. Looking forward in going back there again. Also, the place is very clean & hygienic.

This is located near the sarvana Bhavan and every-time we went to eat at sarvana we saw this across the street. So we thought let’s go here someday and finally we went. As soon as we entered there was a nice floating flower decoration on water. A staff was present to show us to a seat. The menu was big but we decided quickly. We ordered puri dosa, mini idlis, upma and tea. The food was good and of good quality. We enjoyed our food there. The ambience was nice m. The staff were polite and Hm gave us a quick service. I liked the place, will definitely visit again.

I ordered a feast and was particularly hungry when I arrived thus enjoyed a started of gobi 65 (no picture as I sat down and just started enjoying this with mint chutney). We also have chilli mojo and it IS spicy. For mains i tried the vegi manchurian(gravy), mushroom rice (wow!), chilli paneer, plus okra fries!!! (I love bhindi fries since I first tried them at Gunpowder London). Way too much for 2 people but they provide takeaway boxes that are suitable for traveling on public transport.

Went for dine in Lunch on 08 Oct, 2023 at East Ham, London. Ordered Chole Bature. Taste: 4/5 Free water on Table: 1/5 (be careful with their glass bottles, I pointed the dirt on its tip to them and they replaced it) Qty: 3/5 ( was expecting 2 Baturas but they serve '1' only, big enough) Service: 3/5 Overall I had a satisfactory experience.

This is the best place in London for Vegetarian Food. The taste is similar what you get when you eat in Mumbai. Recommended items are North Indian Thali, South Indian Thali, Chana Bhatura, Sambhar Wada, All kind of dosas. Rates are also reasonable considering the fact that we are in London. Staff is superb and they do all kind of customisation. We asked to replace Sambhar with another vegetable, they did without any delay.

Tasty food. Been here so many times with family. My kids like Mlai kofta and Naan here. We love the south Indian Dosa here. Staff are friendly. In Pandemic times, all staff were wearing the mask fully covering the nose and mouth, Kudos to the management. I would have given five stars except that they haven't sorted fitting the wash basin in the ladies toilet yet. Hopefully they do soon.

Wonderful place to have your Lunch / Dinner. Consistency: I am a regular customer of the restaurant for past 10 years, and I can confidently say the consistency in quality of food and service is maintained throughout those years. Food: The quality is excellent, and the portion is more than enough for one person. One can find good option in Gravies. My favorite drink is “Faluda”, and I don’t miss the chance to have it when I visit. Price: The price is very reasonable. On an average it cost £50 for 4 adult, which includes some starter and main dishes. Service: Some of the staff working there since the restaurant opened. They delivered great customer services consistently for the past 10 years. A warm welcome, friendly atmosphere and quick food service brings on extra star to the ranking. Location: The restaurant is walking distance from East Ham Tube Station (District and Circle Line). Come out of the station, turn right, and walk about 10 minutes and you will see the restaurant on your left-hand side. The nearest landmark is Sai Temple opposite the restaurant. Must visit - Highly recommended.
