Usually happy with the gym but it’s starting to show neglect. Despite having just got through COVID, for some unfathomable reason, all the blue roll cleaning paper was removed this week from the gym, together with the dispensers and cleaning products - so this isn’t likely to be a temporary action. This means that members can’t clean down equipment after use, nor can they wipe down their bodies etc. This is disgraceful behaviour considering the last 2 years and the push for us all to observe better hygiene. Can you imagine how dirty and bacteria-ridden the equipment will become? Hundreds of people use many pieces of equipment every day and it doesn’t take long for bacteria to take hold. Even worse if you have cuts or compromised immunity is the prospect of infection too. Hygiene and cleanliness should be the basis for any good gym and, sadly, the Gym Group hasn’t learned the lessons of the last 2 years. Like many members, I value a clean and well-maintained gym. The monthly membership fee recently went up almost 10% to £23.99 and I would have thought this would support better services etc. Sadly, the recent price rise seems to have led to a decrease in standards. I’ll now cancel my membership and find a cleaner gym. I had to laugh when I read the owner’s response to recent feedback - “Member experience is at the heart of everything we do, and we strive to ensure that everyone feels comfortable, happy and safe when using our facilities. Thank you for your feedback. We will use your review to help us deliver better and better experiences each and every visit! 15/8/22 had a ridiculous response to my review. There are no cleaning stations in the gym now and I’m not interested in how much air you pump into the gym. This is about basic hygiene and cleanliness. Avoid this gym - management don’t give a damn

Having been a member here for 6+ months now, I have to say it's excellent. For <£30 a month for the basic membership you get access anytime using a personal door code. The facility is really big and the quality of the machines are good. Busiest times - early evenings but otherwise I've not had problems in having to wait for equipment. I've not used a personal trainer there but just from observation they seem to have a good rapport with their clients.

The Gym Group have a great ni nonsense approach to training. The Gyms are well equipped & maintained, clean spaces with allot of room. Best of all they are 24grs

No cleaning equipment, often find myself using some sweaty equipment after others used it. The yoga mats are especially dirty, once I laid down and could even smell the sweat from mat 🤮🤢. Never seen anyone cleaning after using them. Quite basic gym and lack of some very basic stuff (muscle roller, bar foam, yoga bricks, sit up pads etc.). I have to buy and bring my own yoga mat, roller, bar foam, elastic bands, which are a lot to carry. No hairdryers at changing rooms. Overall just like a Pure gym but at better location and more expensive.

£25PM Classes included, Staff are friendly and personal preference they have a punchbag. Decently sized and with the help of The Gym App you can know ahead if it's currently busy or not. Open 24/7, Conveniently situated next door to Cutty Sark DLR Station.

Gym is good but some people smell like fish, there should be a good automatic air fresh system in place …

Toilets are usually disgusting dirty, wifi quite bad and phone reception bad too , so using your own music is hard. But gym has nice lighting and is cool and fresh well ventilated. Often I can’t find any staff around to ask for help.

Extremely friendly and professional staff who went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I was very impressed with the amount of equipment available and the overall cleanliness of the facilities. 5 🌟 would highly recommend !

Nice gym, however deducting a star due to little to no cleaning stations available and another star for no bicycle racks. Also would be nice to have one more bench press in the gym, as during peak times it’s impossible to use one.

Good gym and very affordable. There's also a good variety of equipment. I'm not a fan of the keypad entry system though, combined with the pods that you have to go through to get in. It would be very easy to spread Covid in those with the trapped air.

One of the best TheGym group I used. I been a member for over 3 years and I can highly recommend the PT's especially Lindon. Keep it up Champ.

I have been using this gym for about 6 months now, and I can honestly say that this has been one of the best gyms I have trained at. A wide range of gym equipment to use and good shower facilities. Have been training with one of the gyms PT Victor Oliveria now for about 3 months. He has displayed a level of professionalism that any gym user could wish for, helping me achieve my goals.

The gym itself still good value and covers all basic needs. Staff are as good as ever, but there are some issues with this gym. 1. The amount of people who don't put their weights away is getting ridiculous. 2. WiFi is barely useable most times 3. Toilets are often rank, full of paper, and piss everywhere - reflecting the attitude of some members. Price has of course gone up by £5.

I have joined The Gym Group 2 months ago and really enjoy my sessions there. I don't find it intimidating, which is important for a newbie like me. Although, I do wish there was a mirror opposite the smith machine, would be way easier to correct my form. And I cannot find a hyperextension machine. Is there one?

Great gym, could do with extra smith machine or a seated leg curl! But has everything you need! Jason is specifically a great PT!

So happy i found this gym, really nice and spacious. These fitness managers called john and jason. They were really helpful and made my entry into the gym 10x better! Highly recommend!

Hit and miss with the group classes unfortunately. Some of trainers feels like don’t spend any time preparing, for 30mins class it’s 15 mins explaining exercises or trying to think what to do next instead of actually making most of the session for people that have joined. Saying that couple of them are very good at this -motivating and most positive during group classes 😊

Good gym! Could do with more benches in replacement of duplicate machines that aren’t used a lot though.

Bit embarrassing to have to mention this, but one of the members here who is otherwise seen cleaning equipment with a cute fluffy duster told me “not to collide with him” when I accidentally bumped into him (yes.. he actually said “collide” haha) - after I didn’t take the (cleaner / putting weights back arranger) seriously, he came up to me a second time to have a private chat to which I refused and told him to leave me to it. Later had my girlfriends gym membership cancelled for “too many attempts at imputing the pin”. I can only assume this is because he didn’t feel respected and got upset. Just wanted to say I already have another gym membership and my girlfriend was leaving in 3 weeks anyway. Honestly your gym staff have way too big of an ego. Other than that.. the gym is nice and spacious with good light - 5 stars for the gym.

A low-cost gym charging £5 in "admin fee" for changing your monthly plan! even if you have a 1 month rolling contract!

It is a very spacious gym, two floors and plenty of equipment to use. My absolute favourite one is the "massage" machine, slightly hidden on the upper floor but worth the visit after a workout 😄

I strangely love the shape of this gym, the length of it makes it feel less crowded. The gym is great overall, friendly staff, plenty of equipment, great AC, fairly clean toilets, loads of natural light, and there's a culture of cleaning one's equipment after use! So much better than the gyms I've been to before, especially the central London ones.

I’m new to gym and decided to book a pt session and it really helped me have a workout plan and gave me good tips and made me feel very welcome and the gym has a lot of variety of machines with a lot of space

The gym Greenwich is like no other the people are great the trainers are great. Really no problems , it’s a diverse gym which really does make you feel safe. The people that work here are very helpful and only show gratitude and respect. Best the gym in London

The overall experience was excellent. I was disappointed not having hair drier at the changing room. Other than that, the area was clean and tidy.

I love the atmosphere and all the people who work here. It is my gym for few years and I can say I feel like my second home. The staff always try to help you in everything you need and they have respected Covid rules as the government guidelines. When the gym was closed due to lockdown,they stopped the payments and they have always recalculated with the amount left when they have reopened without taking any extra money from my account. I am grateful to have found a gym like this. Thank you very much team, you are the best! :)

All in all in has what you need. All was fine up until a trainer started doing a class on the same lifting pad as me whilst I was trying to do squats, hoping this isn't a common occurance.

New equipment, and lots of it, mostly 2x of each machine, spacious and bright.

The layout is ok some space could be used more efficiently. The gym has a lot of machines to suit your needs depending on the area the your working on. The bathroom changing rooms are clean. The staff are thoughtful and friendly also encouraging .

Fantastic gym, simple and to the point, everything you need. Nice large windows with good natural daylight. 7! Concept 2 rowing machine, most I have ever seen in a gym, incredible. Very clean always. The staff are friendly and helpful. Approachable and kind personal trainers. I used to be a platinum David Lloyd member, it was distracting more than anything. I can honestly say, this gym has everything you need and a great layout. I plan on staying at this gym indefinitely.

Absolutely love it. Moved to the area not long ago and was sceptical as there are not many gym options around. The gym is clean, has an amazing vibe and a LARGE variety of machines. Staff very polite and always willing to help. Other customers are very respectful and help to keep the place nice and tidy.

This gym has plenty of free weights! It has a good and respectful staff. Good environment to work out. People here are focused on their workouts, but are more than friendly. Cheers guys and have a good work out

just joined the gym for a week and visited some other clubs. I am very appreciated the Greenwich one has clean and spacious environment. I am very impressed of their staff when i need some help to work with the vending machine and find my lost key back! And i can feel they are very passionate from smile.

Has pretty much most of the things you need with multiples for super popular equipment like squat racks. Friendly staff which makes it welcoming. One con would be the weak WiFi/mobile connectivity once inside.

One of the best gyms I've been to in London, super spacious and great free weight space. Harry is a fantastic gym manager and always is happy to help out

Edit: I am updating my review because of a few frustrations. I wanted to raise my concerns via the survey that The Gym Group sends out, but they have yet to address the issues or respond. First off, the wifi needs to be updated so that it covers the whole gym, especially where the treadmills are. Currently the wifi barely goes beyond the dumbbell and squat area. If I want to work out in the HIIT area or run on the treadmill, I have to have something downloaded to listen to or watch. Please fix the wifi. Secondly, they have got rid of the blue roll and spray stations, save one. That means there is no opportunity for a member to wipe down mats, equipment, or machines when they start or finish without walking all the way to the entrance, where the one station is located, and walking back to the area that needs wiping. Honestly, as my first review stated, I love working out at the gym. The trainers and staff are so kind and welcoming. However, my frustrations of the above two problems, and the fact that they have not been addressed, is unacceptable. The gym is the best! Love my morning workouts and the supportive atmosphere.

I’ve been to a few local The Gym Groups and I really prefer the vibe down at Greenwich, the classes are amazing (thanks Jason and Az!) the staff are friendly and helpful, they always acknowledge certain holidays and also get involved in the community with food donations etc which I appreciate too. The space is beautifully lit and open and machines are always in good working order. I recommend it!

Great gym, best value for money. Haven’t looked back since joining. Great staff and great range of classes to help all aspects of fitness. Couldn’t recommend more.

Would highly recommend going to this gym. The staff are friendly and helpful and have been a treat to be around. Would like to also mention Azizul who has been teaching sessions to me and the players. He has been excellent in his delivery and would recommend him especially if you play a sport he can make it specific to your sport

Been going to this gym for 1.5 years and the vibe is really nice and friendly. Actually made really good friends here too and the instructors make the classes really engaging and social. Shout out to Lyndon and Matteo for always bringing the heat to the classes! Alot of us look forward to Mondays because of the evening hiit and hyrox class :)

Lyndon is very knowledgeable and approachable. The atmosphere changes instantly when he is around. He has a certain ambience around him which allow us gym goers to push past our limits. There has been numerous times that I have gotten better with my lifts thanks to Lyndons brief input.
