Bar Night club Live music venue

😠 Good music, great venue, but cannot say the same for the people at the door as l faced my first discrimination in London. I went there with 2 friends only one of who (who dress queer) was let in, but all of us are gays and l guess the way someone dresses doesn’t mean being less or more queer… so sad... People often mention staff, music, London, club, techno, crowd, queer, people, sound, time,

Good music, great venue, but cannot say the same for the people at the door as l faced my first discrimination in London. I went there with 2 friends only one of who (who dress queer) was let in, but all of us are gays and l guess the way someone dresses doesn’t mean being less or more queer… so sad that this was a place l enjoyed and thought a safe space. P.S, none of us was in the guestlist but when only one of us is taken in and the other two aren’t taken then this only means pure discrimination to me, sad to see a queer place is doing this, but l guess even among us there are discriminators. If you don’t dress the way they want (which they don’t define on their website), be careful making all the way there as they may just discriminate you at the door…

This club is pretty much the best club I’ve been to EVER, and I have been to quite a few. The sound system is simply the best I have heard. The Funktion 1 sound encompasses you so completely it’s like sound therapy. Perfectly balanced resonance. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. All the staff including the security are friendly and professional. The crowd was awesome - such energy and passion for the music. There are two sets of toilets which are pretty good, I didn’t queue once all night. I’m going back as soon as I can. See you on the dance floor 💃🏽🕺🏽

This place used to be AMAZING. I’m not really one to write reviews but I felt strongly about this: Unfold used to be my favourite queer venue in London and was the only thing close to rivalling a Berlin venue. I’d frequent it regularly. After 6 months of not going the whole place has changed. The door staff nearly didn’t allow me in as they ‘didn’t recognise me’ and this would be my main point to raise to the organisers (if you are reading): There were so many people disallowed entrance who I recognised from previous nights there. This has resulted in the crowd changing and in my opinion, it becoming a much younger crowd. The 26-40 scene were what made this place, so please don’t forget this! The blame has to lay with the blonde girl/ little red riding hood on the door. Also, when I entered the music (from a number of artists) was not at the calibre I would have expected. Whereas, before Detroit techno, minimalist techno (and sometimes if I was lucky dark techno) reigned supreme, the music just felt manic and was definitely an example of just because it has a fast bpm, doesn’t mean it’s necessarily great. I sigh in disbelieve that this once fantastic institution, a beacon of light for the London techno crowd, has unfortunately become… commercialised.

I used to give 5 stars to fold, but the queue situation has gotten OUT OF CONTROL! No respect from staff or bouncers. People queu 5 hours in Sunday from 1pm and still get refused because of guest list preferences and priorities after five hours. The staff doesn't even bother to advise people to go home (they used to, but apparently don't Cary anymore). If they were respectful of their customers, they would sell tickets in advance and avoid people waisting a hole day saying "eventually you will get in". Disgraceful this etiquette and priority. Have been an advocate of fold for years, but wont go back again. Shame

I spent the last three months in London raving pretty much every weekend, trying out most nightclubs with decent lineups. FOLD is without a doubt the best experience I've had all around. Venue is great, vibes are amazing, staff is super friendly, and sound is top notch. Tee, their event manager, is an angel sent by the rave gods. If there is one club to go to in London, it's this one.

Tonight was horrible. Did not feel safe at all..90 percent of the crowd was straight but like really straight. So i just left like some other queer people. I was planning to wear an extravagant outfit but did not feel up for it. Its sad that the only queer techno venue is turning straight.....

Had a jolly good time at this spot, but I must say, the music veered a bit too much towards the "housey" side as the evening wore on, which was rather disappointing. Nonetheless, had a smashing time overall! The smoking area was quite spacious, and the security chaps were a friendly bunch. Oh, and I mustn't forget to mention the handy water fountain they had on site. Quite convenient, I must say!

Interesting dark techno music. Had difficulty getting into it but then it became much faster so i loved it. Nice atmosphere , a little closed off everyone vibing in there bubble. Safe space for queer presenting people The negatives: I found the security people/ cashier too excited in their roles ...Some would respond very aggressively. Chill pill maybe? Overall nice experience

This club is the best in London, period! Particularly unfold, which has become a central part of my life and has the best community I’ve been part of. Best queer techno space. 10, 10, 10s across the board ❤️ also best sound system 💃🏼

NYE, after we queued we got rejected at the door and it was the same for more than half the crowd, for no reason. My friend and I are LGBT, who party in Techno clubs in Berlin and elsewhere. We were keen on going in a LGBT place. Don’t claim you’re a LGBT queer place if you reject LGBT people. so why so much hypocrisy about being inclusive. Last year we got in, the staff was nice because their mediocre venue was half empty and they needed clients. It was full of students and straight-looking chad people. so stop pretending you guys are edgy and stop trying to hard to be a Berlin club. We’re in London

Best sound system in London. I could feel the music rattling through my skeleton. Most Berlin-like techno club I have experienced in London too. Smoking area very cool. Atmosphere is non-judgemental and extremely vibey— probably thanks to entry requirements and 21+. Overall 10/10 would recommend to anyone who enjoys techno, especially queer techno fans, a very comfortable space.

This place is amazing. The staff is really nice and polite but in the same time they are working extremely hard for keeping the place clean and safe. The staff really care about the people coming inside. Waiting time for drinks is very short, toilets are clean. The audiosystem is insane. The dj most of the time are very very good. Fold is always a really good idea to spend your Sunday. This place have a real soul. Whoever is the person responsible for this place, I have to say good job and keep going because this place have a massive potential. Thank you.

Nice intimate raves. Great sound system. Security are relaxed. Tickets are cheap. Drinks are relatively cheap, but they charged my Girlfriend £2 more for the same drinks(I am assuming this was an honest mistake). Great staff. Only downside is some people here are to comfortable with getting a little too personal with the girls here.

Best venue, particularly Unfold on alternate Sundays is just amazing if you like queer techno raves. Free and safe space, mixed crowd, chilled atmosphere and good music.

The rave scene is alive and well. I went to FOLD late Friday night there wasn't a single phone in sight thanks to their no camera policy. Music was amazing and atmosphere was one of the best I've experienced for a long time. I'll definitely be coming again.

Fantastic place, the staff were great and happy and very helpful. The music was very good, from very hard and dirty techno to enjoyable techno. The crowd is eclectic but very chilled and good vibes, music lovers. Good evening and morning...took me a few days to recover ✨️

Fold is my favourite club in London. Here's why. The security staff are proficient and friendly. The staff inside are exceptional and focussed on experience and well being. The sound and lighting is incredible. Unfold every other Sunday is the most inclusive party I've ever come across. The prices are fair and reasonable.

my favorite club in London that I went to. best sunday party I've ever been too, also entry price was so cheap to get in (£10). drinks were reasonable for doubles music was bumping, some nice fast techno/trance. stuff I can really get down to. crowd was cool and respectful - not super nice but they were doing their thing n left you alone. queer positive/socially welcoming environment for sure.

Great great music and brilliant crowd! Went there for Little Festival East London on a daytime. The roof was opened. There is a great indus vibe in the area. The security are friendly but a bit heavy. Seeing them all wearing vest paradoxically makes you feel quite unsafe 😐 The club itself looks super cool. It is not too big, and there are nice little spaces to hang out. The lightning is great. The crowd was real mixed. A lot more than anywhere I’ve been before. So massive plus for that! Great music too all day! Jumpy funky happy music and more techno later at night. Minus one star for having a VIP area, though 😅 Feels ridiculous, gives uncool vibes and takes away the underground atmosphere they seem to want to give to this place. They should get rid of it. Edit: Haha, damn! Sorry FOLD. Seems that my Google messed up the location. Will defo come to yours -since you don’t bother with a bloody VIP area ;)

I have been clubbing for 15 years now and this place tops them all. There are not many I haven’t been to all over the world and this place blew my socks off. Where to start? Greeted at the door by a friendly bunch of staff and that didn’t end there, all the staff in the club were also friendly and approachable. This is a rarity in the club scene. The queue moved fast. Cameras on phones appropriately covered up which resulted in no phones in the crowd. A big positive for the dance floor. Two great rooms to dance in, room 2 felt very personal, room 1 had a podium for those that like a better view of the room, plenty of chill out space. Smoking terrace and bars everywhere, so we hardly had to queue for a drink. The lights and sound system both incredible and the crowd to match. Not one bad soul in there. Just everyone having the best time. Great locker system in place for your belongings. Best club in London by miles. I’m only gutted I hadn’t been here sooner, but I’ll be making a lot of trips down from Manchester just to dance here. Great work from all involved. That is how it’s done. Nothing but love for you guys. Thank you

It felt like I transported myself to 20 years back. Amazing staff (please pay them more) sound amazing, on the night the music was fantastic. Went to two more places before Fold.. friends told me it was the best, but only when I got there I realised what I was missing on. Place looked sketche at first from outside, but... and one more time, the staff was so helpful and amazing and the place all the way to the moon!! Thank you all! Owners/organisers/brains behaind it, please let me buy a drink! Edit: 891 reviews, 4.6 stars! for London Club unseen!!

Went there second time and it was again disappointing experience. The music was boring , the toilets very smelly and filthy with cold water in the sink. Rude female security at the door. Weird vibe, not going back there.

One of the best clubs I've been to. Great music, set up, and sound system. Line outside did not take long at all, lockers are available, drinks are very reasonably priced and they give out earbuds, plenty of staff ensuring safety and well-being all around, places to chill out and take a break from dancing inside and outside, and overall didn't feel overcrowd on the dance floor. Excellent experience that I hope to do on my next visit in london.

My favourite club in London. Always worth the 4 hour round trip. Old locker desk was definitely better though !
