Love going to the Empire. I’ve been visiting this theatre for the past 40 years, when you could park in Tesco 🫣. I’ve seen every type of theatre show at this venue. Looking forward to visiting in a few weeks

Went to Hackney Empire for the first time to see Mac Demarco live in concert. The venue was easy to find from Hackney Central overground station, only a 3 minute walk. The staff organisation was good, and entry to the venue was without fault. The interior is beautiful and made for a nice intimate setting. The sound was brilliant, and well-mixed. Highly recommend this venue if you want to see an artist in a more intimate environment.

A very enjoyable black comedy show at the Hackney Empire in conjunction with Black HistoryMonth, Security was pleasant and polite. Not a long wait at the entrance. The seating area was clean , and only downfalls were the seats were not in line with the normal size adult body. I could hear people around me complaining about leg room and having to readjust positions so that leg cramp does not set in. The air conditioning didn't need to be that cold for this time of year. Had to keep my jacket on. The bar had a good selection of alcohol with good prices to match 👌🏾, but I shouldn't have said that ... Overall, it was a good night out

Grade II listed theatre which has preserved much of its original design. I was staring as much at it's architecture as I was at the show I went to see. It has a large capacity and although my Upper Circle seats needed a snug fit with my neighbours, no complaints as the experience was overall good!

Went to see the annual panto Aladdin...Absolutely amazing, usually go to the West End, Palladium or similar, but this year went back to my Hackney roots and was not disappointed. Brilliant show, brilliant cast & proper old school panto, me & my 12 family members loved it & now my go to place for 2024, oh & my mum used to work in the box office in the early 60's...Well done HE, we'll be back..

Hackney Empire is a beautiful place. Went to watch my son perform, the theatre looks absolutely beautiful inside. The seats were clean. Enough space to get to your seat. You get a clear view of what is on stage. They also had a bar which served nice drinks. The only problem was parking, I don't live in the Borough of Hackney so it was pretty hard trying to get parking. Get there early to find parking in the roads nearby and walk down to the theatre. No free parking Monday to Saturday but free very limited spaces on a Sunday. Otherwise I would visit again

Lovely old fashioned theatre with a lot of character. Great visibility of the stage from any seat. Very difficult to park remotely near the place though if you’re looking to park in a car park and not on the street.

Lovely place to visit, not massive amount of space between the seats, surprising front few rows are a little lower than I thought they would have been.

An evening with Millie Bobby Brown, in conversation and talking about her debut novel 'Nineteen Steps'. A wonderful venue, lovely size which retains a feeling of intimacy, friendly staff and marvellous interior architecture. Sensible prices at the bar, and ticket holders entitled to 20% discount at nearby Pizza Express.

Fabulous restored theatre in Hackney. Did a quick tour during Open House Festival London and loved the open access, including on stage and back stage. Leaned it actually has the largest capacity of any performance theatre in London’s West End. Built in Dec 1901, it stands as a beautiful example of temples built for the performing arts in a very different era, yet transcend time and remain a very relevant and attractive venue today. Why else would it be picked as the host for the Rolling Stones interview with Jimmy Fallon talking about their new album Hackney Diamonds?

Stunning theatre. Well kept. Staff were friendly. A real gem. Box seats were great but the chairs were uncomfortable after a while. Also a bit of a snug fit for three adults, should consider dropping capacity to two. Otherwise a great experience.

The architecture in theatre is really impressive, very classical and a lovely experience. Not too big so you feel more closer to the acts.

The venue is a familiar place for Black cultural events going back many years. Home of the famous 291 club that launched the career of many Artists, this beautiful, ornate and historic building might not be in the heartlands of London's theatre land but is every bit worth a visit just for the unique experience.

Beautiful old theatre great venue for opera or a show but beware the cheap seats in the upper circle they are very uncomfortable and you perch like a seagull on a cliff.

Beautiful historic music venue. Seats quite comfortable. Excellent sight lines from all areas. Good acoustics. Gets hot when full, hotter than is really comfortable. Plenty of bars with fast staff. Lovely staff throughout. A pleasure. We were lucky to see Robert Plant and Suzi Dian playing as Saving Grace. Magical.

What a stunning theatre hall this is. Brilliant sound and acoustics too (went to see Robert Plant last night). Friendly and helpful staff.

It really has come up, over the years. There's something about theatres, that always reminds me of pantomimes, and Christmas, which is lovely. Even from Upper circle, you get a good view of the stage.

A glorious theatre that continues to stand the test of time. So beautiful inside. Quite unusual to have some table-seating behind the stalls, but everyone gets a great view.

Watched the Gruffalo. Easy entrance and exit which matters when you're with kids. Seats dont have much leg space aka for bags. So best to travel light. Recommend booster seats for small children to ensure they can see the stage. A good number of toilets so there weren't lots of queues at the end.
