Such a charming place. Homely and warm atmosphere, staff that makes you feel like family Tons of traditional pies with mash on the menu and more. You are not going to leave hungry. I had a Vegetarian option they have (they have 2 vegetarian pies!) With liqueur sauce and gravy. It was great. The rhuburb crumble with custard was amazing. Highly recommended

This is a fun place to stop and try if you are in the Greenwich area. We were recommended it from a tour guide. The staff was quick and super friendly, but here is the reason it got 3 stars: Maybe it's a European thing (I'm from the states), but the pies were not very seasoned. I could have used more salt and some type of herb. I had the chicken and mushroom. It was more cream of mushroom, instead of chunks of mushrooms. My mom had the minced beef, and it also seemed a bit plain for my tastes. Don't get me wrong, it was good, we ate it entirely. And the mash was delicious. Probably just wouldn't get it again. A tourist thing I did for the fun of it.

Home made delicious pies. The portions are generous, the food is delicious and the price is small. Highly recommend to go for the Special - peppered steak pie & mash. Authentic vibe and cheerful service... But "badly behaved children beware", you risk to be made into pies! 🤣

The Best Pie in London! I love this place for its taste, extremely nice service and good prices. Moreover, the atmosphere of this restaurant is wonderful. Always a lot of people loud and that's how it should be. I recommend highly !

I tried this "legendary" London mainstay. TWICE. It has NO taste. Everyone in our party agreed - this can't be right, can it? But I came here 2x PRO: - Cheap, big portions CON: This has zero taste. Can't be a fluke since I came here 2 separate times. NO taste at all, might as well be water SUMMARY: I see all the reviews but when everyone who ate it with me (from 3 different countries, including UK) agreed that this was tasteless, I can't recommend it sadly.

Possibly the best pie and mash in London. Pies are home made and portions are generous. Best pies for me were the chicken & mushroom and the steak & ale pie, served with your choice of potato mash, mushy peas, baked beans and liquor or gravy. Prices are reasonable and service is good. Great authentic old school vibes.

Delicious. I can't wait to go back and try all the other flavours of pies. It's not expensive. And the staff were very friendly. Don't make the same mistake I made for dessert. I got the sticky toffee pudding. I should have gotten a crumble or a fruit pie or bread and butter pudding which are all handmade and it was even written on the specials board. But I chose 1 of the 2 desserts not handmade. It was okay the sticky toffee pudding. But I had buyers remorse. Ah well. Next time I go I'll definitely get a crumble or fruit pie.

We always go to Goddards when visiting Greenwich! They make the most delicious pies with mash and gravy! We've brought all my friends and family who have visited us too and they also love it. The people working there are so friendly. This will always be my no1 place to eat when in Greenwich! Such a cheap price too! I would also recommend the rhubarb crumble if you have any space for dessert!

Awesome pie shop. Service is super friendly. The restaurant is super cool. Seating areas are old school. Delicious food and more importantly very affordable. Hot food for a nice cold day. Dessert is fantastic. A must visit during one’s trip to Greenwich!

I went for lunch yesterday with my partners family who have known Goddards since they were children. I opted for a chicken and mushroom pie with mash and gravy. It was very tasty and all a bit of an experience - fast and not at all fussy! Only comment was that the gravy was very salty but not inedible.

Right in the centre of Greenwich and full of locals as well as tourists. Classic hand made mince beef pies with liquor or gravy, peas and beans if you want. Plus a good selection of other pies and sausage rolls. We had the classic and it was very good indeed, certainly the best I have had in a Pie & Mash Shop. There is a good selection of sweet pies and crumbles, but next time I am saving space for the Bread n Butter Pud. Looks wonderful. Tea , coffee , soft drinks or beer to drink. Place is retro, very clean. Staff very friendly. Loved everything, will be back soon.

The staff is incredibly nice, but not sure about the pies. We had the cheese and onion which wasn't the best and the baked beans tasted as if they came straight out of a can. In terms of prices, they were pretty good. A meal costs around £5.5.

While exploring Greenwich, I discovered Goddards at Greenwich, a quaint eatery renowned for its traditional British comfort food. I indulged in a cheese and onion pie accompanied by mashed potatoes, mushy peas, and onion gravy. Although the presentation was simple, likely due to the crowd and the need for quick service, the pie's flavour was tasty. On a subsequent visit, I savoured their sweet rhubarb crumble with custard. Goddards' menu primarily features their signature minced beef pie and both jellied and stewed eels. However, they also offer a variety of other pies, including two vegetarian options, and I learned that their onion gravy and mash are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. This eatery is a must-visit for anyone in Greenwich or hosting guests in London who are eager to experience authentic cockney cuisine.

The genuine East-End kitchen. Traditional minced beef pies or five other types including vegetarian options. Parsley sauce or gravy, good mash and delicious eels. Well-priced too. I will be back!

Excellent value and delicious food! I had a cheese and onion pie and was pleased to hear that the gravy is vegan-friendly. I also had an apple crumble and it was incredible! Friendly staff and not expensive food, either - fantastic!

Such a great value for money! We loved the 'Peppered Steak Pie' with mash and gravy. It was probably one of the best pies I've ever had. You won't be able to get a meal for 2 anywhere else for £12 (plus a tea)! Great option if you want a traditional, hot meal in Greenwich! 🥧 Really quick service too!

We had two pies with mash and gravy along with two beer. All for less than £20 in the heart of a very busy Greenwich Market. Excellent pie and mash, quick service and their desserts are huge! We tried a chicken and ham pie, steak and kidney pie and shared a blackberry crumble! All were top quality and very filling. The pies had excellent filling with plenty of meat and tasty gravy! We will be back and will happily bring visitors with us.

I saw somebody on YouTube in their vlog, and this pub was recommended as a good place where you can have not only a beer, of course, but the traditional beef pie with mash. They have like 4 or 5 different kind of pie with mash and also jellied eel .I tried the steak and kidney pie with mash and gravy. I was not disappointed cos it was delicious. The food is cheap and the service is quick. They have lots of sittings upstairs, too.

I guess it's a controversial opinion but the Beef Mash & Pie with liquor wasn't that remarkable to me. Maybe I'm not familiar enough with British cuisine but it tasted like a simple meal and like another recent reviewer wrote, a bit watery and not much taste. But I must say, the staff are some of the most hard working and polite gems out there, which made up for it for me personally.

Absolutely lush !! The service from the two girls tonight was A* you could tell they enjoy their job and the interaction with customers !! Top tip about the chilli vinegar also really made the taste of my steak and kidney pie ,mash and liquer pop !! Shame I was full as the pies and crumbles also looked delicious 😋

Amazing Pie and mash shop, the quality of the food is outstanding! And the staff are always friendly and very helpful. But be warned, this place gets very busy. It such good value for the money. Me and my wife love the place ❤️

This place never disappoints, don't eat there much as I see pie & mash as a yearning rather than just for the sake of it. Its such beautiful food and the servings are massive. Safe to say I needed a kip after

We had to try this place after seeing it over and over on TikTok, Google, and YouTube. It’s traditional pie and mash. For me it was just ok. That’s because it’s basically an American pot pie. It was good. Just not amazing like all the reviews said.

I watched a London food review on YouTube a few weeks ago that mentioned Goddard’s so when I was in Greenwich, I had to give it a try. My wife and I were not disappointed. Kate had the lamb n mash with a beer and I had the beef n mash. The gravy was superb. What a shame I’m flying out of England tomorrow… otherwise I would be back for the peppered steak pie.

Great place! Very authentic but also amazing tasting food. Lady that served us was lovely, friendly and very helpful considering it was quite busy. Lamb and rosemary pie was knockout! And we were recommended to have the blackcurrant and apple crumble which was probably the best crumble I've ever had! Will definitely be back!

A lovely meal! The staff were friendly and quick. We had the beef pie and the chicken and ham pie, both with gravy. They were well portioned, but there is the option of getting two or three pies, or adding peas if you want more food. This hot meal definitely hit the spot and was a perfect way to end our last day in London.

Had a great time here. The food is amazing. Really good value and great atmosphere. I'm Vegetarian and was pleased to find 2 Vegetarian choices on the menu. The tea was really good too! A very nice gentleman called Steve, who worked there, gave me a little talk on the history of the building, and interesting to know it's a family run establishment. Will return if I travel to Greenwich again.

Had a great time. Simple meal, no fuss. And the upstairs has AC, always a plus for me.
