It's hard to believe that in September 2023, Amy Winehouse would have turned 40 years old. She passed away tragicly young at just 27 years old, but left an indelible mark on music. Camden Town held a special significance for Amy, as it was the place she truly came into her own as a musician. She moved to Camden at age 20 and immersed herself in the local music scene. Amy worked in Camden Market selling candles and tending bar at the historic Hawley Arms pub, where she also frequently drank. It was in Camden that she found inspiration for many of her best-known songs, performing regularly at venues like the Jazz Cafe and Roundhouse. Tragically, Amy was found dead of alcohol poisoning at her home in Camden Square in 2011. The life-sized bronze statue of Amy, sculpted by Scott Eaton and contributed by her father and fans, has become a pilgrimage site for those wishing to honor her memory. Situated prominently in the middle of busy Camden Market, it sees a steady stream of visitors paying their respects. Fans frequently leave colorful ribbons, bracelets and other mementos that are regularly changed out. The statue provides fans, locals and travelers alike a chance to reflect on Amy's all-too-brief career and the soul she brought to her beloved Camden during her time there. While no longer physically present, her spirit lives on through her art and this meaningful memorial.

Spent hours eating cheese and drinking wine in front of her and could not take a single picture WITH her thinking to myself she would have 100% hated all the people stopping by and taking pics with her. It's beautiful, honorable and so deserving. But all I could do was watch her, cry and remember the last time I saw her alive.

It's a nice spot for a picture, but there's always a bit of a queue. If you're in the neighborhood, do stop by

A sad ending for such a talented artist. Not only the statue, but Camden is full of Winehouse memorabilia and a funky place to visit.

I'm glad that Camden Town has honoured Amy, such a controversial person, but a very sensitive one with a fantastic voice. A tragic loss for music and all who loved and liked her.

It is very easy to find the statue of Amy Winehouse, in Camden Market. The statue is made of bronze and is from the year 2014. Made by the sculptor Scott Eaton. Eaton depicts the late singer with her characteristic puffy hairstyle. She is wearing a skirt that was characteristic of her, with a protruding belt. Her characteristic stance with one leg slightly bent towards the other. Colorful thread bracelets On the hands, maybe originally? Or added by fans. This is a life-size statue and you can see that Amy was a small girl, but a huge singer. Exact location: in Camden Market, where stables used to be.

This memorial of Amy Winehouse provides a reprieve for her adoring fans and this bronze statue gives this experience to anyone that visits Camden Market. Fan photography is most welcomed and it can get quite crowded at times due to the heavy traffic of the market. Worth the snap with the statue to reminisce about her contribution to the entertainment World and her life struggles when she was alive.

The Amy Winehouse statue in Camden Town, London is a homage to her adoring fans. It's interesting to see the area that she was inspired to write her songs and perform in and j was amazed to see just how small she was even though her hair made her look so much taller. It's very well cared for and there are a lot of adoring fans who put a bracelet around her wrist and every time you walk by there's always another new bracelet. It's easy to find and it's right in the middle of Camden Town. I thought it was respectfully done and I appreciated the thought and effort made to create this art piece. Her facial expressions show a tinge of sadness to reflect the hardship she went through and it's quite thought-provoking to think about the entertainment industry and how it failed someone like Amy.

Really wee life-size bronze statue of one of Camden's own extraordinarily talented big personalities. Who was been installed only 3yrs after Her passing instead of the customary 20yrs. Dwarfed in size by a mahoosive statue of the imaginary Lara Croft on a lower level directly behind Amy Winehouse. Makes Amy's likeness all the more real

It was so busy. A Nigerian lady shouted at me: go out from my picture but I was there first time, and I wanted to make a picture, too (about me and Amy Winehouse).

Beautiful tribute to a gorgeously talented soul who really left too soon.

Probably not the best person to review this statue as I'm not particularly a fan... It's just a statue of Amy Winehouse! Bustling Camden location right next to a statue of Lara croft!! Good food and drink options very close by.
