Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Hampstead

Tourist attraction β€’ Catholic church

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Beautiful, historic Roman Catholic church. It was up a narrow windy road but it was not far and it was worth the trip. The road out was tiny. Our driver kept saying the road was for horses not cabs. The community was warm and welcoming to two American Roman Catholics. People often mention church, Beautiful,

A beautiful church and one of the 50 best catholic churches to see in England and Wales according to a new book. Sadly closed except for the narthax when I visited. But it is indeed a beautiful church.

I am new to St Mary's which is undoubtedly a very beautiful church and I was pleased to have discovered it. However, after the service, Mgr Phelim Rowland was outside to speak with parishioners; I put my hand out to shake his and he limply obliged, as if it were a chore, and did not even look at me, let alone give any eye contact. I was very disappointed that a new person would be treated in this way and felt rather upset on my way home. It seems that Mgr Rowland picks and chooses who he gives the time of day to. Thus, I can only give 2 stars. Priests are important to a church and after this experience, I don't wish to return.

Beautiful church and excellent mass, relevant topics approached in an intimate and intelligent way. Great to go with children too.

I attended the funeral service in this church. The priest was very welcoming to all also those who weren't religious, practising or worshiping other religions. Highly recommended

The Church is beautiful, the settings and location is exquisite and the church services organised by Monsignor Phelem is worth listening to as his services resonate good will with practical and useful views for the modern world. Well worth visiting for a service.

Very attractive & impressive place. Very moving & reflective Architecture. # I was attending the Funeral Service for Katie Boyle, who was CommΓ©re on The Song For Europe, BBC TV Feb.1961. on which my Singing Partner & myself as The Allison's, Won with my SONG > 'Are You Sure', which went on to sell over a Million, top in All Charts, & the only Eurovision Song ever, to knock Elvis Presley from Nr One, which we did twice in April 1961, plus many other Countries. Strong Nostalgic link with Katie because of that, to us a Gracious, Kind, helpful, Beautiful Lady, with whom we were grateful to be acquainted, at the very start of our Career. We had to sing it 3 times, perched on bar-stools! > quite nerve wracking! She was very sympathetic & understanding to us, on our First Professional Engagement. She was very Congratulatory to us on our Win. ##
