The Albert Memorial is a tragic monument commissioned by Queen Victoria of Great Britain and Ireland in memory of her beloved husband Albert of Saxony, who died of thypus in 1861. It was designed by Sir Gilbert Scott and constructed from 1864 to 1875 in the neo-Gothic style. It was financed mainly by donations from the British population. It is very beautiful and just opposite the Royal Albert Hall. Together they make for a wonderful ensemble.

Whenever I go to Kensington Gardens, I always take the opportunity to visit this poignant memorial dedicated to Queen Victoria's consort Prince Albert. It is well known that Victoria, after the death of her husband, went into a period of mourning that would last the remainder of her lifetime. As a tribute, she commissioned the memorial, which is beautifully crafted to stand on the edge of the gardens, and his bust overlooks a building that he helped to design and bears his name 'The Royal Albert Hall.

It was an amazing pace located inside the park. You can enjoy the park then attend the vent in the hall

It’s an interesting monument and is worth a look while enjoying the Kensington gardens, however in my opinion is not the star attraction of the gardens and park, although it may be one of the biggest and most obvious. That being said it’s a grand monument and has interesting tales and historical relevance, as do the fountains to the north of the park, but my personal favourite is the simple yet beautiful Diana fountain. This statue is opposite the great Albert hall, not surprisingly. And can be busy, so best to walk to although there is adequate public transport. The whole park is a great place to visit but it can get crowded, especially when there’s a royal event or something… very crowded!

One of the most popular places in London is the Prince Albert Memorial. The monument is located in Kensingston Park in London and is visible from many places in the park. This is the most beautiful place. I highly recommend everyone to visit this place. The place is very well maintained, you can sit on the grass and relax, squirrels run around.

I've passed by the Albert Memorial many times. Each glance reveals something new in its intricate design, and its historical significance has never been lost on me. Whether you're here for a brief visit or you know the area well, this memorial serves as a unique and inspiring landmark.

The huge monument indicates that although the marriage between Victoria and Albert was arranged, it was a close, loving and monogamous marriage. Prince Albert was not very popular with the British people at first, but gradually his life as Prince Consort, unfortunately too short, came to appreciate his qualities and commitment to the UK. The monument, designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, took the form of a 54 meter high ornate canopy or pavilion in the Gothic Revival style. From his elevated position, Albert overlooks the Royal Albert Hall named after him. The £120,000 the monument cost was raised by the people, not Victoria. Nevertheless, an impressive monument and tribute to a husband.

A fantastic monument commissioned by Queen Victoria in memory of her husband who died in 1861. On a nice sunny day it is great to walk around this monument, exploring the multitude of features commemorating Prince Albert and all of the corners of the world and the different forms of labour that helped the country run.

This memorial is amazing and incredibly detailed. In the past they have run tours “beyond the fences” and allowed you to get up close to the sculptures. It is gorgeous from every angle, ear and far and properly honours Prince Albert and his massive contribution the the area now known as Albertropolis.

This memorial is so beautiful and quite large. The monument commemorates the death of Prince Albert was designed by George Gilbert Scott. Completed in 1872, The Albert Memorial commemorates the death of Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband, who died of typhoid fever at the young age of 42.

Such a gorgeous monument to Prince Albert. The statues around the outside represent 4 different continents. The statue of Prince Albert himself was made of gold and truly stunning. Didn't even realise this was just behind the Royal Albert Hall!

It’s a pretty good looking monument for taking pictures, specially in the afternoons. It’s located in the south side of Hyde Park. That area is highly recommended to visit by bicycle. You can rent it at many places in the city.

This is my favourite Memorial in Kensington Gardens, not Hyde Park. It’s ornate and domineering of its surrounds whilst prounding facing Royal Albert Hall. Thanks to @Koen for the below. Very well put. Ode to a Beloved Husband! The huge monument indicates that although the marriage between Victoria and Albert was arranged, it was a close, loving and monogamous marriage. If you have some time for a walk and you want to get away from the feeling of being in a big city, visiting Hyde park, Kensington gardens and palace is a nice way out. You can enjoy walking around the parks watching also some historical buildings and Albert memorial.

Of all the things to see in London this was my favorite, along with London Tower. Rich in history at the edge of a grand Hyde Park, while close to a bustling area of the city. If you have extra time to chill out, go in the park just behind the memorial for some peaceful views.

This was my favorite memorial / monument / statue in London. It was remarkable. Easy walk to round pond, the Diana Fountain or Kenzington Palace from here as well

This a very large and majestic monument located in Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. It takes pride of place as it faces the Royal Albert Hall. As there is only foot traffic, it is the perfect place to start your walking journey through the park.

Stunning memorial situated in the Kensington garden. Surrounded by lots of green space, a nice hangout ground for those who are craving sun tan and nature in the center of London ❤️ And the royal Albert hall is just cross the street. Currently there is a Van Gogh exhibit happening here too!

The Albert Memorial was commissioned by Queen Victoria in memory of her beloved husband Prince Albert, who died in 1861. It is one of London's most ornate monuments. Do check it out if you are near the Kensington Gardens. The details on the sculptures are beautiful.

When the sun shines you will see many people seating around the memorial having their break. It's a nice relaxing atmosphere with a view onto Royal Albert Hall. There is also a coffee place at the back of it if you fancy a piece of cake or coffee.
