What a beautiful cathedral, very peaceful and a great place to pray the rosary or chaplets. The volunteers are very friendly, but there is no wheelchair access to the side chapels so I have to deduct a star, but they can be viewed from the main level and they are stunningly beautiful and contain some of the most beautiful mosaics I've ever seen. It's totally well worth a visit and to participate in a mass. They also have regular RCIA classes, a Rosary group on Saturday, a Divine Mercy group on Sunday and lots more.

Also called the mother church of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales. Worth visiting it or just going in for a prayer. It has a nice architecture, with very nice decorations. It still has the traditional seating, meaning no benches but wooden chairs. The choir has a wonderful sound. You can go up the tower for a small fee, the view of London is nice, if it's a windy weather better to wear a hat. An elevator is taking up and down the tower. Easiest way to get to the cathedral is by tube and getting off at Victoria Station, less then 5 minute walk, or by bus get off at Westminster Cathedral Stop N or Vauxhall Bridge Road Stop M. Places you can visit nearby are Buckingham Palace, St James Park, Green Park ...around 10 minutes walk or if you continue going towards river Thames you can visit Westminster Abbey, Palace of Westminster, Big Ben.

Beautifully decorated interior, on entering there is a feeling of calm, stillness and serenity even though there are other people around. A place you can easily get lost in your thoughts, such peacefulness, from the outside hustle and bustle of Victoria Street.

It was like I stepped inside the exquisitely adorned Roman Catholic cathedral, built in the late 19th century. Instantly, a serene tranquility washes over you despite the presence of others. The interior is a haven for contemplation, a refuge from the bustling Victoria Street. Marvel at the Chapel of the blessed sacrament, the Lady chapel, and the Chapel of the Holy Souls, each radiating beauty and holiness.

There are two very similar sounding heavyweight cathedrals in one vicinity but other than their common first names, they have nothing in common. The one in question Westminster cathedral is made only of bricks and surrounded by modern glass buildings. It's pale colour scheme doesn't help it stand out and it's unusual design doesn't let it blend in with anything either. It is very strange looking and despite its huge size, it's not imposing or serious like gothic architecture. It's almost like that it was designed for children because it can easily be in any Disneyland and no one will ask any question. I mean they gave it white stripy dress but also a very dull colour. Might as well paint it bright and avoid all confusion. However its interior is where it gets serious. It's not only huge but really beautiful too with multiple chapels within. Inside you'll find all bells and whistles that you expect in a grand church of this size.

It's deceptive to think another random Catholic cathedral would be good but wow this one blows you away. It's not like any other place. It's a working cathedral and acts as the head church for Catholics in the United Kingdom. Despite only being built a hundred years ago, the design is lovely and built in a neo-byzantine style which is amazing. Marble columns, decorative mosaics, large open spaces and plenty of interesting things to read about in each chapel. It's definitely worth visiting, and it's free!

Gorgeous place. Give them donation, it is still being completed to the final version. You can buy commemorative coin from the tourist coins machine - one option has the cathedral on it and another coin has the local depiction of Jesus on Cross on the coin, reverse side of both coins is the same.

I took a look around whilst in London for the day on a sculpture trail. This cathedral is architecturally stunning outside, but oh my inside is really beyond words. Do have a look if you get the opportunity, you won't be disappointed. If whilst visiting, you want to take time to reflect, pray, or join a service you are welcomed with open arms.

Westminster Cathedral always looks a bit strange to me strangely beautiful though and it just gets better when you enter . It was built in a neo-byzantine style by one John Francis Bentley thank God for him this place is fantastic . Construction began in 1895 and the Cathedral opened in 1903 although not unlike La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona it is still a work in progress . I have done my sums and have concluded this fantastic feat could only have been achieved because the builders gave up their tea breaks . And get this the anticipated cost was only £150000 . Sadly this wonderful architect died a year before it opened . Many of the good and the great have graced these floors including Pope John Paul 11 and Queen Elizabeth 11 god bless her soul . It claims the honour of being the 50th largest church in the world . I was thrilled to see a statue of Our Lady of Walsingham here seeing as I live not far from there . The building has a series of Chapels surrounding the perimeter all dedicated to various Saints and all splendidly decorated with marvellous mosaics . Personally I liked the one of Albanus . Another thing which caught me eye was a Chi Rho symbol made out of nails . Amazingly when I visit these magnificent places it is quite often something very simple which impresses me most . I also enjoyed the Mass here it was quite wonderful realy and very busy . I am not sure what they call it but after mass in one of the side Chapels had a group of people singing further Prayers . I found the sound of them beautiful and very calming , I listened a long time . The big Crucifix suspended mid air is also stunning . I can't lie I am a sinner and not very worthy but since my mother died I find myself attracted to these places more and more . She was a devout Catholic bless her and deserved better than me . God moves in mysterious ways ,William Cowper perhaps she still has her eye on me ? Who knows . If you get the chance you really should visit this place is great .

So atmospheric, the interior is oddly dark towards the ceiling as it’s half finished. The fine parts are staggering though. And Jesus lights up the darkness when you look up!

Very nice cathedral, not much history, just over 100 years old. It's free to enter. Unique roman Catholic cathedral. A bit dark inside, but still a very nice experience to visit inside.

At first, when I saw this amazing architectural building for the first time, I thought it was a Mosque, but only coming closer I realized that I was mistaken! It was a truly beautiful cathedral with an interesting appearance. Very beautiful and I was completely pleasantly surprised at how excellent the architecture in London is!❤

Beautiful building situated between Westminster and Victoria. Easily accessible from either Westminster or Victoria tube although we took a 24 bus which was just as convenient. Some astonishing mosaics across the walls and roofs if the side chapels. There are many side chapels for you to sit and pray or to gaze in wonder at the beauty of the place. Visited during Advent so there was a tree outside which was beautiful.

Beautiful! The fact that it isn't fully finished inside adds to the charm in my opinion. I was told that they need £55 million to be able to finish the ceilings with gold mosaic, but I think it'd be much better if they left it as it is and donated the money to charity 😊

Built in the Traditional Gothic Style, the Westminster Cathedral's was made in the Byzantine's earliest churches design. It is the Mother Church for Roman Catholics in England and Wales. A good place to visit and admire the unique architecture and of course a house of prayer.

Amazing cathedral which isn't as popular with tourists as it perhaps should be! The architecture is so interesting and you really will be filled with "awe" as you look around it. Take a seat and have a prayer, or light a candle for a small donation, and you'll be getting more out of the experience. Can't recommend looking around here enough if you're in the area

Love this church... Beautiful and lots of history on the walls and ceilings... U will never get tired of visiting this church and they have a clean set of toilets on the right side. The shop is great too. The information lady was extremely helpful when I asked about the location of envelopes for the souls I wanted to be included in their prayers. You can also use a container and get holy water on the right side once you enter. The music and choir is something else and the smell of incense just gets you so emotional.

A great place to visit, I implore you to ignore these false negatives reviews about this church is full of corruption and Smells clearly untrue this is offensive towards the church. This church has always been clean they only ask for a small donations if you can, how anyone can say this is corruption I think there visiting the wrong place clearly needs mental help. I'm sure the regulars that attend will agree with the accurate postive reviews. I can only assure it's fantastic to have this church much appreciated by many.

Lovely place, with a quaint ambience, and a wonderful cafe. Excellent ham and cheese toasties, accompanied by a bag of crisps. The cheese was perfect, not artificial or processed cheese but actual dairy cheese, it tasted scrumptious and the bread absolutely right to the crunch. The variety of food is good, coffee too. Cleanliness great, friendly staff. Maybe uplifting the decor could be organised so as to go from quaint to incredible.

Yes, the mosaics are nice and the marble is grand. However, the rest of the inside building looks like a converted train station hall with coal soot still hanging onto the walls and ceilings.

What a wonderful surprise of Westminster Cathedral. This neo-Byzantine architecture catholic church is one of my favorites. Although the mosaics work hasn’t been completed yet, it’s still very impressive. In fact, the black brick walls and ceilings make it more dramatic. They have been working on the mosaics since then, piece-by-piece but I can’t imagine when the whole walls and ceilings will be completed any time soon. The sun shines through the back windows adds a lot of characters to it also. It was a special thing for us to attend a mass conducted in Latin.

Visitation here is the Cathedral was very well organised for Confessions. No long queues, it was super quick. The Crib was situated as you entered the main front door. It was much better here than it's usual location down the far end of the Cathedral. It was well managed with social distancing throughout & no long queues which was great and a huge improvement to the normal Christmas long queues. Everyone could go in & pray in a very safe environment. Well done to all involved.
