The Camel deserves at least six stars from Mr G, a wonderful little pub tucked away in the East end at the end of Globe Road! There are a lot of camels in the pub, all look healthy! The boss is on the table outside, a cat in case you were wondering. Her servants work inside. The lady running the pub, not the cat has judged it to perfection. Great service, great beer and great company! Plenty on offer, both cask and keg, all looks well kept and my sample confirms this. There is also a great selection of pies, the Kate and Sidney was brilliant. A most excellent place to visit.

One of my fave little pubs in East London. The owner (Deb) is a legend. Cosy, if not snug, atmosphere. Cheerful customers. Friendly pub.

The Camel is definitely best for Pie Lovers. Various Pies menus are good enough for mouth watering. Pints are best companions that you can’t miss too. Highly recommended.

We had gone to the pub for the first time to test it out with our dog. We asked before hand if it would be OK and they said yes so we went in. Only to be chased out shortly after. The reason being that the dog was not allowed. Keep this in mind if going to the camel, best to leave the dog at home or go to a better pub

This is a great local boozer, especially during the summer when people are outside. Don't listen to the one bad review about not being dog friendly. It is the complete opposite of that and I can only think that it was the dog or the owner that was unfriendly. My dog is always shown affection by Debbie and the staff and even when I'm just taking him round the block for a walk, he always wants to go in the door to be pampered. The pies are pretty decent too.

Just boosted from 4 to 5 stars after tasting the excellent Wandle cask ale. Tucked-away, tiled exterior, down-to-earth, lovely. #16 #31

A nice, laid back pub with steller service, better food and great drinks. Patio is cozy and next to a small park so it offers a gentle breeze of fresh Park air. The bartender loves to sing and favors Texas in America for an unknown reason. :)

We stumbled upon The Camel walking up Globe Road. It was crowded, great atmosphere, awesome music playing. The drinks and food were just perfect.

Great food. Super cheap. We spent no more than £40 on pies, a drink each and a dessert to share. Really great pie and chilled environment.

Amazing evening between friends. The food is great, loaded Nachos and delicious fungi pie. The staff was very lovely ! The only thing is the music is quite strong and you have to shout when having a conversation so sensitive/tired people beware of sensory overload

Loved this place, we were looking for a poper old Eastend pub! And boy, we found a good one! It's tucked slightly off the beaten track, and drinks are reasonably priced £15 for 3 alcoholic drinks - £11 aprox for pie, mash, peas, and gravy - not bad going for London. The food was yummy, the pie crust was crispy, and the mash was perfectly smooth. Staff were lovely, attentive, and friendly. We could have spent the whole afternoon in there, definitely coming back!!

Visiting my son in London and had the pleasure of drinking in this gem of a proper boozer. Great atmosphere and the Guinness was almost as good as Ireland...🤣 Returned on Sunday for pie and mash and another few pints. Again not disappointed, lovely food and reasonably priced. All in all a bloody great pub! Oh and bonus~They take cash! Almost like a foreign currency in London. Be back very soon!

Why, oh why?!? I’ve lived in the area for the last 7 years and it took my brother in law to come from US and asks us to come to the Camel. My new go to place! God Bless Cameron who suggested the Moo Blue - phenomenal pie. Good selection of beers and great atmosphere all around!

What an outstanding pub. We had already eaten so didn’t eat. The food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing! The pub was packed but the staff served us quickly and the landlady worked furiously to ensure glasses and tables were cleared quickly. The place is quite small but was rammed. It’s popular for a reason. The Five Points beer was kept beautifully and everything was reasonably priced. We’ll be back!

Great little boozer and unreal pies! Proper east end welcome from Debbie the landlady and the locals. The pies are top notch, a must when you visit. Like sitting in someone's front room, the sort of local pub that's sadly become a real dying breed. There are a few gems in the east end, this is one of them.

Local boozer that has seen many young group come and go. Big nights celebrating and leas big ines just getting battered. Still today its a great pub. The beer offering, food and staff are top drawer. Support your local and be the next wave.

Great pub, the staff was very nice, the pies were delicious, and also the music was good! (Oh, and you might be lucky enough to meet the house cat!)

This cosy London pub is a hidden gem, serving the best pie and mash ever. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, creating a delightful experience. The staff is friendly, adding to the charm of the place. If you're in the mood for comfort food and a relaxed setting, this pub is a must-visit.

Nice beer, great ambiance and the menu looks great. We didn't have any food, we didn't have time but everyone says the traditional, pie-based menu looked amazing and a great selection of traditional puds too. We'll be back!

Very friendly staff who gave us great service by the bar when there were no tables yet ready when first arriving. The food is very nice however, unfortunately, I was not expecting there to be no meat which was a slight shame. If you are going, prepare in advance and ensure everyone you're going with is also willing to accept vegetarian food.

Proper little pub, amazing hospitality, great pints. Cosy, warm little inside pub and a great casual beer garden / outside area. The barmaid went out of her way to open up the outside for us when there were no seats and continuously came out to check if we needed drinks. Lovely! We came with a dog and it was welcoming and dog friendly - with a heater and awning out back too!

One of the best pubs in East London, on the small side, but welcoming. They have a decent selection of beer on tap and bottle, with some still under 5 pounds the pint. They also have plenty of siting space outside. Traditional decoration, lovely staff and cozy, it can't get much better than this.

Fantastic place! Arrived to a cosy, packed pub with nowhere to sit, so we left. Landlady came out to offer to open up the back terrace for us and put on the heaters. I mentioned I'd love to see the Ireland rugby match if any space cleared inside. Within a couple of minutes she returned to tell us a group would make space for us at the back and she put on the match for me. We felt very welcome. Top-notch pub run by a fabulous group of women! 💪

What a good pub should be like, busy, friendly, serving great beer and food. And a lovely atmosphere. Sadly we didn't get to sample the pies, but will return for sure as my daughter says they're excellent. Highly recommended.

Great little pub. Really friendly staff that went out of their way to ensure everyone could watch the World Cup final. Great prices for food and alcohol too! And… the most important thing… they have pies! Not ceramic bowls of stew with a bit puff pastry thrown on top… proper pies fully encased in delicious pastry! Yum!

Lovely little pub tucked away behind Bethnal Green. Tables in the alleyway get v popular on sunny days, and rightly so. Lovely lady behind the bar and the occasional bit of live music. Scampi fries are available.

Food so much better than regular pub food! Nachos great, pies amazing! Staff are very friendly and likes to have a chat. Always a good vibe. Sad that they close the outside early but it’s because of neighbor and not them, so it’s understandable.

My favourite pub in London. The only small downside is the earlyish outside closing hours due to what I believe is its residential location. Haven't had a pie yet but am looking forward to the occasion.

Nice outdoor sitting area. They have a great selection of drinks and some decent food. Ordered the loaded nachos and they were some if the best I’ve ever had! Worth checking out if you get the chance.

Paid a visit for the first time in yonks at the weekend. Nothing had changed. Good selection of beers, attentive staff and friendly locals. Also a pleasant little outside area if it's a nice day. Thoroughly recommend it.

Such a great little pub. I always bring people visiting London here to give them a "proper British pub experience" - especially in winter it is rammed and buzzing. Only downside is that it is tiny and for my liking to crammed. Also - only serving Pieminster pies gets a bit old when you go there frequently. I would love some variety on the menu - no doubt if there was I'd go more often.

Charming pub tucked in a side street, lots of outdoor seating, good beer selection, tasty pies and friendly staff. Need a place like this in every neighbourhood.

Lovely pub in a Bethnal Green backstreet, with everything I'd look for in a local favorite pub: amazing pie, good beer, cozy atmosphere and a very nice staff! I'll be sure to come back whenever I'm back in the area!
