One of South London's best kept secrets - a jazz club attracting world class talent with great service, drinks and food and a fantastic cosy setting. Love this place and everything about it, and tickets are cheap as anything - around £11 typically, and that's less than anywhere else equivalent in London. Sound is very good - current desk and PA. Bar well stocked with nice options for beers, a few spirits, cocktails and wines. A small kitchen offers inexpensive freshly made food and snacks. Well worth visiting and becoming a regular.

An absolute amazing place at the crypt of a church. A beautiful music venue, great atmosphere. Excellent and polite service. I strongly recommend it to every single jazz enthusiast. A unique experience.

A basic venue with poor sight lines. There was no food available last night (Thursday), but they are OK if you bring in some takeaway. It is worth going to see the music, but don't expect an awesome venue.

Always a lovely time! One of the best spots low key for jazz in London. Been going for 17 years ...long may it continue.

What a night! Brilliant live, tight band in the Alina Bherzinska HipHarpCollective. Great clear PA system, intimate and reasonable bar and "grill". All in all a stellar night and highly recommended. BOOM!

Jazz club located in a church crypt. Friendly crowd and friendly organizers. The sight lines aren't very good due to the church columns so arrive early if you want to see the performance.

A lovely and cozy jazz place. Try to arrive early to get a good table or spot and listen to great music 🎵🎶

Really cool, unique place to watch live jazz. Will definitely come back. Would be 5* if the view to the stage wasn't blocked from so many places. Arrive early for a table and good view. They've got a well-stocked bar, serve food & have a great outdoor seating area at the back too.

I’ve been to the jazz night here (which is wonderful) and then found out you can also hire the space for private parties so me and my friend chose it for our 30th. I’m so pleased we did! Mary and her team are fantastic - they are really helpful and competent but also laid back and were discrete on the night. All we had to organise were our own decks and projector because we wanted our own DJ setup. Mary and her team sorted everything else out, which included setting up the room and decorating it with tea lights, security on the door and the bar which was well stocked and manned. The venue is so unique. It was a very hot evening on our date so we enjoyed being out on the lovely terrace for the first couple of hours of our party before we headed in for the music. Thank you for making our 30th so special ❤️

Decided to have my 30th here with a friend as the venue is so unique. So glad we chose this venue! Mary and her team made the experience as stress free as possible, were always timely in replying and super helpful with making the event a success. Thank you Mary and team.

High level performance of jazz here, tickets required for the live show nights but totally worth it

Just awesome. Lovely friendly staff, really well priced drinks (plus a great range) with a superb and eclectic live music programme. Covid responsible venue with a cool outdoor area, too. Go see for yourself.

Great little dive. It's very small, you'll probably have a pillar partially blocking your view of the stage, and it feels more like a (erm) crypt, than a glamorous club. It's perfect for a local jazz club. And the atmosphere, cheap and down to earth drinks, and great value but interesting food make it outstanding. I don't actually like that much jazz, so I go rarely. But it's a great night out every time.

Superb little jazz venue underneath St Giles Church. We were lucky to see a superb act there too. Cool little bar. Get there early to get a decent view of the stage, and be aware that the trade-off may be a difficult walk to the bar instead!

Great venue. South London jazz stars playing and they serve good food, but get near the front of the queue to get a good table.

Jazz in the Crypt is a London institution, a chance to see excellent jazz concerts at a very reasonable price. It’s a bit off the beaten track for visitors but well worth it. Tip: get there when the doors open because most seats don’t have a view of the stage. Photos of Mussinghi Brian Edwards & Friends, one of the Crypt’s regular jazz concerts.
