We just visited from Paris - what an amazing place. Victoria is an innovative, incredible, and the enthusiastic Tinker Bell of The Canary: the vegan/vegetarian cook (food's amazing), muse and one of the founders of this hidden place on Old Bethnal Green road. More than kid-friendly, any Little Person's request is a priority, including great edgy haircut from Gavin and his team (in the same establishment) - for the entire family. Everything is handmade (including the tables) and perfectly curated. Highly recommended for a coffee, cut & colour, or simply a brilliant spirulina burger after the Flower Market. This is the place to watch, I loved it. Well done to The Canary team. Thank you.

Wouldn’t go back for another haircut. Had a female stylist there who was super lovely but was very underwhelmed with the actual haircut. Did something to my hair I explicitly said wouldn’t work for it and didn’t take a lot of care with the details of the cut. Have since switched to Muku Salon in Shoreditch who are amazing (cheaper too!) so would recommend those guys over here.

Orshe and Shadiya are both amazing stylists. Both have cut and coloured my hair and I'm always beyond happy with the results. Everyone at The Canary is super friendly and the atmosphere is really chill. Definitely the best place in East London to get your hair done, or to grab a quick coffee to go.

Delicious vegan and vegetarian sandwiches - vegan sausage with roasted vegetables on sourdough is the best, vegan brownies are super moist and the fried egg with spinach and yoghurt is my favourite. Inexpensive, great space and lovely service. Local joint and owner can make up something to your liking. I'm a regular! Also, hairdressing salon attached and I would absolutely recommend Orsha who is detail oriented and fantastic at colouring and cutting (I have long hair and am super picky about how it's cut). She does a solid job and is not charging an arm and a leg !

Great service - one example is me phoning to say I'd be 5 minutes late to my appointment and I was walking from the station and she asked if I'd like a coffee when I got there - was greeted with an americano at the door! Good bunch of hairdressers, professional service with a relaxed vibe.

The Canary was recommended to me by a friend. It's been years since I had my hair coloured in a hairdresser so I wanted somewhere particularly good for a whole head of highlights. Sadiye was brilliant, the poor girl was on her feet for hours, I swear she must have done a hundred foils bless her! But my hair looked incredible, she did a super thorough job. One of the best do's I've had, I would definitely go back.

Great first hairdressers appointment at The Canary! Really clean, vibsey salon with a friendly and attentive team. Sadiye was exceptionally great, taking a huge chunk of her afternoon to work with me on quite a big blonde balayage job, and I'm thrilled with the results. I will certainly be coming back to her for future hair appointments and 100% recommend this salon to others.

Discovered this cafe on a trip to London and was surprised it had only been open a few weeks. All the staff were very friendly and were passionate and had a great understanding of my dietary needs. The vegans cakes were especially yummy! A must visit for any vegans out there

I ate typical Western and Mediterranean breakfast here, comprising of citrus fruits, yoghurt, a puff of toasted bread, pomegrenate, almonds and sugar-maple syrup. The price was okay. These guys are great. Really friendly atmosphere in the cafe and rare to find such a good haircut for thick hair - recommend this place highly.

Great hair salon - G is amazingly attentive! I've had my hair dyes, long, short - shaved and have been so happy with the quality. Coffee - to be exact - turmeric/ matcha lattes are to die for, with a good selection of alternative milks! Victoria is really welcoming - so it's very baby/ child friendly, which is a rarity in London!

These guys are awesome. I haven't let anyone touch my hair in 13 years after a bad experience, and I was extremely nervous about having it cut after all that time. The girls were very welcoming and Sadiye was lovely- they offered me a drink to 'calm the nerves' and Sadiye did an amazing job at cutting my hair exactly as I had asked and giving it new life! She knew exactly what was needed to make it look healthy again, and how to make me feel more chilled. I will 100% be returning again, and can do so feeling very relaxed knowing they'll do a fantastic job. Thank you!!
