Great atmosphere, great food. Good service. My friends and I had to wait for ten minutes for a table but we didn’t book so that’s not too bad. Massive problem with parking around this very popular Nigerian restaurant, I suggest a Uber then you can drink and take advantage of the amazing Nigerian beers. It’s difficult to know the dress code because some people just want to eat traditional food and might not be looking for a night out but that’s mixed with people who are celebrating an event and are beautifully dressed. Honestly this place is buzzing and if you want price and quiet this is not the place to eat. But if you are happy with a electric ambiance great food and traditional foods then get yourself a table. Make sure you book if it’s an event otherwise you will not get a table.

Environment and atmosphere could be better, lack of tables making the waiting time longer they also force you to sit where you don't want to be seated. The lights were deemed during people eating their food. You get multiple people serving you so you lose track of you've ordered and they keep coming back to ask you what you've ordered, could prefer one person to serve me throughout my stay in the restaurant please. I ordered pina colada, it was tasteless with no alcohol or pineapple in it, just bland of coconut milk with a punch of sugar not cool at all. Monka find was tasty but had sand in it, the plantain was nice but too oily. The waiters were very nice with friendly and welcoming. Would I go there again? Yes but this time I will try something different.

Firstly, this food. Yummyyyy. I was honestly impressed by the flavour and authenticity. However, the service is something to be desperately improved on. Staff were spread thin, forgetful and not as knowledgeable as you would like your waiter/waitress to be. We also ordered plain stew for a vegetarian friend of mine, she never did receive it and when we pointed this out, the staff offered “it’s just so busy” as a reason. If the customer service was better, I would have given this place 5 stars.

I first went to 805 back 14 years ago to celebrate my birthday, and I enjoyed the food then. We are now in 2023, and they have remained consistent. I love the new and improved decor and layout of the restaurant, but the food is still amazingly delicious.n

I came here about 3 weeks ago. I had the oxtail soup to start. Wow! Was it good and very hot and spicy. The taste was incredible. Then I had the 3 type meat dish with rice. The taste was something that I've never had before. It was very tasty. I've never had Nigerian food before so this was my first trip down this flavor street. I'm glad I came and next time I come to London I will come back. 🙂

Service was ok,food well presented, a bit disappointed with quality of fried fish very dry ,egusi was very watery, had a guest with fish allergy we explained it clearly to the waitress but there still got it wrong. Guest had to wait for another plated to be prepared with the others where eating, not a good dinning experience.

I had the worst customer service experience. We were forced to pay for a service that was basically sneaked into our menu. The waiter wasn’t sure of what he was doing. The manager definitely needs better training because this is clearly not her forte. Her de-escalating skills are non-existent. I would recommend going somewhere else. Food wasn’t even worth the hassle.

The service definitely dragged, even though the place wasn't exactly packed. And I've got to say, the music was cranked up way too high – I practically had to read lips to catch what my friend was saying across from me. On a brighter note, the fish portion was impressively generous, which kind of makes sense given the higher price. But then the pepper sauce they served with it left this bizarre bitter aftertaste that caught me off guard. Adding to the disappointment, the moimoi was seriously lacking in seasoning. To top it all off, the waiter subtly hinted that he might get in trouble if we asked for a refund due to an overcharge. Basically, he was insinuating we left the money for him. I wasn't about to fall for that though – I was genuinely disappointed, so we held our ground and waited for the refund. Now, I'd heard nothing but good things about this chain, which is why I gave it a shot. I'm leaning towards chalking this experience up to just a bad day on their end. I'll give them a shot once more in the near future and cross my fingers for a better experience.

When I learnt we were going to an African restaurant, I was excited and looked forward to eating some Nigerian foods I had not eaten in a while. Off of that excitement, I ordered chicken suya for a starter and grilled Tilapia with fried plantain as the main dish. First, the service delivery time was painfully long. The starter didn't take too long but I had almost gotten tired of waiting when my main dish arrived. Both foods were underwhelming - the suya was moist, different from the Nigerian suya one was used to, and the grilled fish was so bitter, that we had to complain. I tasted the beef and lamb suya two of my family members ordered and I would say the lamb suya > chicken suya > beef suya. Not only was the fish bitter, but the sauce was average at best. After we complained, the waiter took them away, apologised and ordered us a replacement. This time, we opted for croaker fish for a difference. Although I had ordered mine with plantain initially, they brought it with fried yam. Being too tired/dissatisfied to eat anything else, I asked for a takeaway pack and we were handed foils to pack them ourselves. Also, they mixed up the chicken and chips order for the kids and brought that of the next table to us. The waiter expressed her ignorance with a wave when we pointed it out, and it was after the kids had started nibbling on their meal that they brought the correct order. Service delivery was haphazard, painfully long and the meal underwhelming in a nutshell. It was my first time visiting and perhaps the last.

Authentic food, I had tried this type of cuisine during the first time and have no regrets, the staff are friendly and hospitable. The menus need a bit of cleaning but apart from that, a great experience

Would I recommend going here? Maybe if all the other restaurants were closed. The food took an hour and 15 minutes to arrive, we were seated towards the door which was not ideal considering the harsh cold weather conditions and they had no heating. They messed up our bill and included many items we did not receive/cancelled. The only decent thing is a few of staffs helping us resolve our issues. Food was mediocre, nothing to write home about.

Service has definitely improved from the way it was some years back. Staff are more polite and attentive. Food was great and prices are not too bad. Venue is nice and clean. Nice Nigerian spot.

Lovely atmosphere, and staff were courteous. The food is great but at little too spicy for me. Would have given them 5 stars but......... one order didn't arrive until everyone else had finished, and when it came it was incomplete. I do love Nigerian cuisine but service can be terrible. Just saying!

Had a pleasant family meal here, prices were medium to high but they were large portions. We had chicken suya to start which was nice and flavoursome but the chicken wings didn’t seem fresh. Jollof and chicken stew for my main was ok but the rice seemed a bit crispy. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was delicious and the best part! Would return but only as a group to share items otherwise individually quite expensive.

Delicious fish, the nkwobi is so good and the peppersoup was tasty. Spicy , yes but not unbearably spicy.

First time visiting here and my first time experiencing an African restaurant. I did enjoy the food but they did forget about my main so I had to chase for it. I didn’t get to eat with my partner because by the time my dish arrived he’s would have been cold so I made him eat ahead. Service wasn’t too bad but felt the atmosphere could have been better. The restaurant was busy but it didn’t feel cosy however this could have been due to Covid changes.

We ordered Beef Suya, prawns in filo pastry, pepper fish soup as starter. Mains- eforiro with pounded yam, ogbono with pounded yam and Monika fried fish with jollof. The place was manic took 45mins to get our bill. But I can’t blame the waiter as they were running around trying their best. Good portion control and food was yummy. Only let down is the wait time.

A good start to try West African - Nigerian cuisine in a local restaurant. My Nigerian friend took me to explore his native cuisine. It was a good experience, and I might return to try more. This restaurant is worth checking out if you're looking for local and good Nigerian cuisine. However, the decor and food presentation could have been more memorable, unique - traditional. Santana is a starter, marinated and spicy gizzard, was perfectly seasoned with traditional Nigerian spices, providing a delightful taste without being too spicy. Unfortunately, tho some of it was a bit hard to chew. Another starter - Nkwobi, a delicacy made of cow foot mixed in spicy palm oil sauce, had a bitter taste and some of it a crunchy texture that I like, but overall it is not my cup of tea. For the main course, the grilled fish with smoked jollof rice, fried yum, and plantain was a better experience, especially the rice was a true standout - the flavours were rich, with tender fish perfectly cooked and seasoned. Just be sure to check with the staff if you have a low tolerance for spiciness, as the seasoning can be vibrant. Prices are reasonable for some dishes, but starters are overpriced.

It is always a very pleasant experience for us whenever we come here, be it together or with others. The attentiveness of the staff is always 10/10. They ensure that everything is okay with our food and are always accessible if we need them for anything. The food is delicious and full of a variety of flavours and spices.👌🏾 As we are both lovers of art, the decor always really stands out to us, especially the beautiful portraits. They depict a West African tale. Simply magnificent! Overall, the restaurant is exceptionally clean and we never have any issues when we dine here with food, cutlery, the atmosphere or the staff. 805 has continued to uphold their high standards over the years hence why we always come back!

Service was great, the waitress was attentive and pleasant. The food was a little bit of a let down, the goat meat and fried plantain were excellent but the suya and jollof rice were underwhelming. Atmosphere was ok, access good with bus stops close by.

This is the one restaurant in London I will never visit again, following my latest experience, . 805 Restaurant & its staff at Old Kent Road excel in providing poor quality service. In addition, food packaged & delivered to customers as takeaways are not freshly prepared but just reheated food from the last day or two. A Bad food & a poor service doesn't make for a great atmosphere. Not to mention, very rude staff who are out of their depth customer service wise. This has consistently been my experience about this place. Not a great place at all.

This is even a couple of days after. I took the food I didn’t eat home. It was not so great so I thought maybe if I go home and reheat it, it’ll be different. The food wasn’t at all fresh! This is complete rubbish considering the different crowds 805 can pull. It’s embarrassing. They’re either not using fresh ingredients or they’re letting it spoil and still trying to overheat it to mask the issue but it’s clear. Service has been dragging for years. It’s ridiculous and boring. If not for the fact my American friend wanted to try the cuisine, I would never have come here!

I recently dined at the 805 restaurant and overall, had a good experience. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. However, the ambiance was a bit lacking. The restaurant was a bit noisy and the decor was a bit outdated. These are minor issues, however, and did not significantly impact my enjoyment of the meal. I would still recommend this restaurant, but perhaps with the caveat that it might not be the most luxurious dining experience.

i just had dinner at their new outfit in Marble Arch. The meal was tasty although they were out of fish, goat meat and stock fish. The only options were tripe, cow leg and chicken. While I overlooked this since these meats are imported, what I found to be unsettling and a complete rip-off was when the waiter came back with a #8 pounds bill for a side of rice, # 8 pounds for a side of plantains, and #4 pounds for a side of the spicy sauce that came with the regular dish I had ordered. The total for these three side items was #20 pounds same as my dinner. I informed the waiter how ridiculous it was for a restaurant to charge #8 pounds for a small bowl of Basmati rice. He said he had no say in the matter. After this experience, I not only lost respect for the management of this establishment, but I canceled my plans to order catering service for a planned family re-union that weekend.
