This is one of my all time favourite restaurants in London. The food here is exquisite and full of flavour. We had the okra fries for starters and the spicy lamb chops. The lamb chops are the best I've ever had. For mains, we had the Kensington chef special which is the main reason I chose this particular branch of Dishoom. The Kensington special is simply delicious, the lamb is so tender and falls off the bone. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful with their recommendations.

Lovely experience of dishoom. When arriving we were told there was a 20 minute wait. We waited and got in a little earlier. The lady at the front was a very friendly. There was a lift for the pram but never got told to hold the button down for the lift to move so was waiting for about two minutes laughing when we finally figured it out. We were led by another waitress to sit and by another waiter told how to order. We ordered our drinks and food and it came within minutes. One thing I found a bit disappointing was the waiter asked if we wanted water but never told us we had to pay for it! 😫😫 £3.90 for a bottle of water and never even got to take the bottle home! Fuming. Overall it was a lovely experience and would definitely visit again this time not purchasing no water. The food was exceptional and tasty and atmosphere was nice. The waitresses and waiters are all very nice checking to see if you’re okay and if the food is okay. The toilets were clean and the changing facilities for baby were good too

Just perfect place , full of flavour, acknowledged staff , extremely friendly and helpful.. But most importantly FOOD , incredible flavours perfect variation and mouth flavouring orgasm.. If you aim to experience flavours that you won't be able anywhere else , THIS IS A PLACE. Everything freshly cooked and just simply finger licking. Will definitely visit again to try more of dishes ❤️❤️‍🔥💪

Beautiful restaurant. Reservation is 100% recommended, but they also accept walk-ins. The interior is truly stunning. The staff is super professional and friendly. Our waiter was extremely nice and explained the menu to us. Every single item we ordered turned out to be delicious. They don't accept cash, so if you are a tourist, just be aware of that. Definitely a must-try!

Came here for a lunch with my wife and it has to be one of the best branches of Dishoom. Food cooked to perfection as always and service from staff is immaculate. First time trying okra fries which was recommended and I have definitely been missing out on my previous experiences. Not only should the food be appreciated but also the interior design and style which should be applauded as they all come together to create a beautiful dining experience.

The restaurant offers authentic and delicious Indian cuisine that tantalizes your taste buds. However, the ambiance leaves much to be desired due to malfunctioning air conditioning, making the dining experience uncomfortably warm. On the positive side, the staff are attentive and helpful, always keen to ensure a pleasant meal. The dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, it's a great spot for Indian food lovers, but improvements in the climate control could elevate the experience significantly.

For authentic Bombay style Indian food, look no further. But be ready to wait. The average waiting time for a table on the weekday dinners is about 45 minutes. The hosts and servers are always busy but very friendly. Hard to imagine how they are always so nice. The drinks menu is very interesting, if you re confused just ask the bartenders. All their recommendations were fantastic. The servers take their time to explain the food menu and also recommend what and how much would be good for the table. The food was very good. Portions and prices are also fair. Highly recommend Dishoom to everyone. They have a few branches around London, so try whatever is convenient.

Best Indian food we had in London! Total 1960 interior vibes. The line moved very quick. The lamb is so soft and melts in the mouth. Chicken ruby has so much flavor. Highly recommend. Outstanding service

It’s safe to say that this establishment is the best of the bunch. Its locus and design, both entrance and seating, are one aspect of why this particular branch emanates. Anyway, to the important part - the food (and service, which it’s notorious for). Emma was looking after us for the evening, so shout out to her impeccable warmth and friendly nature. As for the food - we got the rose and cardamom lassi, spicy lamb chops, greens, nihari biryani and okra fries. It was utterly divine. The meat was so soft, juicy and succulent and it would fall apart so delicately. The flavours and aroma infused with the spices were simply mouthwatering. The balance in taste and texture is truly what distinguishes Dishoom from other food outlets. Dishoom have taken great measures against covid within the restaurant, so any worries can be quelled when visiting. 10/10.

had heard of this place and finally got a chance to try it (I had attempted to walk in before without a reservation, but the line was too long). The service is proactive, fast, and very friendly. The food is alright, featuring many dishes as you would expect from an Indian restaurant. The execution of the food was mostly good, with a few exceptions. The lamb chops that three of us ordered weren’t tasty, leading some of us to replace the dish. Overall, nothing about the food was amazing. The place was quite full, and they even have a live jazz concert from time to time, which adds to the vibe. The ambiance is nice, and the decor is appealing. It can accommodate quite a lot of people. Had it been pricier, I would have given it 3 stars, but considering the price, the complete package is worth it, so I’m giving it 4 stars.

One of their nicest locations - very kind and helpful staff and great food. Came over on Friday night and managed to get a table for 4! The food was really nice, as usual and the staff was really helpful and nice. The decor in this place is just spectacular and really makes it an upscaled venue. You can even catch jazz performances on Some evenings!

What an incredible experience! The food 10/10, staff 10/10, queue (none, thanks to Covid they now save 30% for bookings), building and decor 10/10, ambiance 10/10. All I can say is WOW! Incredible customer service, best I've ever experienced! From the moment you turn up & they open the door to the moment you leave. Absolutely incredible! I even asked what scent they were burning and they very kindly gifted me a box. My first experience at dishoom, after a close friend has raved about this place for years was GLORIOUS! THANK YOU to all the staff and chefs!

As a big group, we had a special feast menu. We had to make a reservation 40 days in advance and the place was extremely loud, crowded and not exactly what you’d call a relaxing environment. The food was good, but as an Indian I can say that there’s still room for improvement to make it taste original. I had a chat about this with the staff and they said the frequently receive complaints about the food being spicy - so they simply have to tailor it to their customers which is really valid. The flavours were good and drinks and cocktails were excellent.

The wait is about the 1 hr on a random Wednesday night at about 7.45pm for 2 person. Great service , every staff is friendly, it makes dinning more enjoyable. Every dish we had met or exceeded our expectation . The dal was a pleasant surprise, I enjoyed it more than the chicken ruby (which is also good). Will go back again!

I’ve heard amazing things about Dishoom and gave it a go for a birthday meal. I loved the food. It came out as and when things were ready, everything was served well cooked and really tasty. I wrote to Dishoom before booking a table as one of my party cannot eat spicy food and I was assured the waiters know the menu. We were served by Prince and he really did know the menu, his recommendations were great, and we were able to order food which was mild and could be enjoyed. The black Dahl is divine as are their cooked breads. The chicken tikka packed a punch but was enjoyed. I’ll be honest and say I tucked into some of the food before remembering to take a pic. I will definitely be back!

Whenever we're in London, a visit to Dishoom for lunch or dinner is a must. This time, we tried their breakfast options for the first time and we'll definitely be going back again. It's a must-try! Excellent service and friendly staff.

  • 5/5 Jessica Z. 1 year ago on Google
This place was amazing! The food was so incredibly good, everything that I tasted! A bit on the pricey side and food is served tapas style. It's recommended to order a bunch of dishes to share. My only complaint is that our waiter took forever to bring the check over. We waited about an hour after we were finished to get our check. But 5 stars because the food made up for it.

Our best food experience in London was at Dishoom. Cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were helpful with their recommendations and the atmosphere is lively. The food is amazing! The briyani is a must get! Make sure to reserve a table in advance, the food is absolutely worth the price.

An Art Deco interior and ambience paired with some of the most delicious food I've ever had in London, this homage to Iranian cafes of times gone by will not disappoint. We arrived as walk-ins and invited to wait at the bar with a beeper. Staff were friendly and offered genuine suggestions. Didn't have much room for desserts but with the quality of the starters and mains we couldn't resist! We'll be back again.

Discovered a gem of a dish in pineapple Tikka. Traditional soy chaap cooked to perfect with perfectly complimented with pineapple. The kala khatta sharbat is a cool take on kokum sharbat. Great service and lovely ambience.

  • 4/5 Kelly S. 2 years ago on Google
The decor is quite nice. It’s busy on a weekend/ during peak hour. They accept walk-in but definitely recommend booking in advance, or you need to be prepared to wait for quite some time. Came for lunch during weekend. Ordered the signature black daal, it’s deeply flavoured and rather addictive that we savoured every bite! It’s a good dipping sauce for naans. The garlic naan was puffy. Both the Masala prawns and the chilli broccoli salad were good, though I found the salad portion quite small and not as spicy as expected. Services are good and staff members are friendly, maybe a bit understaffed during peak hour. Overall worth visiting.

Thank you to Panos at Head Office for organising a visit for my husband and myself to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We had the most incredible meal and the most amazing service from our waiter Jamie. We loved the cocktail recommendations. The kebabs, chicken, prawns and chaat were all amazing, we love the flavours of the tandoori. We were so stuffed there was no room for dessert...so we will be back. Highly recommend the food here, full of fresh flavours and nice spice. Also recommend you book rather than walk in as its usually busy. If you are driving in you can only park for 2 hours max.

I’m so glad we were able to book a reservation at Dishoom. It was one of the best meals we had on our visit to London. Every dish was amazing. We weren’t sure how much to order, so we started with a few plates. There was three of us and we ended up ordering eight items. Highly recommend Dishoom!

Nice place and runs full most of the time. Tasty food no doubt about that but priced on the higher side. Probably expected as this is a high end chain of restaurants. The Dal Makni was awesome good quantity and probably the best I tasted. Lamb chops and Kebabs were tasty no doubt but for the price we paid the portions were small. Service is out of this world. Right from the time you enter to the time you exit you are taken care of.

The food here was amazing. The restaurant is a walk in and we had to wait a bit because we arrived prior to lunch service but we had time to settle and get a drink before ordering lunch. Everything was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!

A fantastic place with super delicious food. A reservation is necessary but you can enjoy a drink at the bar while waiting on a table. Food is amazing even if the service is a bit on the slow side. The BASMATI KHEER desert is number 1 for me. Prices were great with starter and main plus drinks for 3 people just 176£

Modern Indian dishes with a 1920s decor. The food is tasty, the cocktail is great, the staff is friendly. Great selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes. Totally recommended. Go early as they don’t take reservation.

  • 5/5 Priya C. 4 months ago on Google
Reserved and came with a group of 6 and everything was amazing! We had to wait 10minutes for the table, but it was a nice booth. All the food was very tasty and service was friendly. There were some vegan options like the okra fries, chole puri, and kheer. It would be good to have a few more vegan options as a lot of the vegetarian dishes couldn't be converted. But there was a vegan menu (more vegan breakfast options vs dinner)

There are nearly 6.3k reviews before me and majority of them positive. So, here is my contribution to the positive reviews. Place is amazing and the food quality is simply the best in London. I have heard a lot about it and thought it is an overhyped restaurant and will not live upto the hype. Last week we decided to give it a go and we were pleasantly surprised. Food quality was amazing and service was top notch. Yes it doesn’t have Michelin star but quality I am sure is better if not equal to it. Overall, its a MUST visit restaurant if you are in London.

Dishoom in general and this restaurant in particular are a MUST DO. This is our second Dishoom in 3 days! We had previously gone to Covent Garden and a staff member there recommended the Nihari biriyani at this location. So we came here. The interior of this restaurant is far superior to the Covent Garden one. We went a little early for lunch and were extremely lucky to get a table for 4 without a reservation! Fried okra, the lamb biriyani, the kathi roll , mattar paneer, roomali roti, cinnamon ice cream with chocolate pudding and pistachio kulfi were awesome. A senior staff of the restaurant gave us Dishoom incense sticks as a souvenir since we returns to the restaurant during our short London vacation. We leave London tomorrow but oh boy ! next time we are in town we are definitely visiting again !!!! Very friendly staff. Great food, great service , excellent ambience.

Ordered a takeaway during Covid lockdown using Deliveroo app. Order was ready 10 mins earlier and the restaurant had wonderful arrangements for the pick up service including hot chai and Haribo while you wait! The little details put into the takeaway packaging from the thank you card, recipe for chai, the stickers, make takeaway from Dishoom such a pleasant and uplifting experience. And the food as usual is killer! Brought smiles and happiness to a dull grey lockdown Saturday. Thanks Dishoom!

Amazing Indian cuisine, especially homemade Roti and Naan with beautiful seasoning dishes! The best part was outstanding customer service. The waitress asked the reason why we didn’t finish the dessert which was a bit too heavy to finish, and then she removed the dessert from the bill proactively even we didn’t complain about that. Attentive and thoughtful service is surprisingly good.

Another great dishoom experience, this time for breakfast. My second time at this location in Kensington which may be my favorite Dishoom of all. The ambience inside is eclectic and reminds me of what I imagine old school supper clubs to be like. I've never had breakfast at Dishoom before so I was excited to try their offerings. Both the egg Naan and the vegan sausage Naan were great - but even better toppled with some masala beans. The chili cheese toast dish was inventive take on a basic bombay favorite which I really enjoyed. The refillable Chai is a Dishoom morning hack that everyone should take advantage of. Service was impeccable as always.

I've been to Dishoom on many occasions, but now it's time for a review. Why? 1. The food is out of this world, 100% the best Indian restaurant there is. The rich flavours are unbelievable. 2. The cocktails/drinks! These guys are better than actual bars. The best Old Fashioned you will find. Cheers! 3. The waiter Ajay. Impeccable service. He did everything perfectly. Please get him to train your other staff! I've been to the Kensington restaurant multiple times, he is the reason for this review. Absolutely amazing. I'll be back!

We’ve been meaning visit Dishoom for a while after hearing how good the food was and wow it really lived up to our exceptions! Not only is the food amazing as well as the cocktails (the COLABA COLADA was soo yummy) but the service may actually be the best I’ve ever received, every member from the host at the door to the lady’s at the reception to our waiter Ajay were so so warm and welcoming! My boyfriend doesn’t eat dairy and they had a whole dairy free menu and even offered to make the nan bread specify for him to be dairy free. Overall such a lovely experience, incredible decor and relaxed atmosphere. Special shout out to Ajay our waiter who was wonderful!

One of the best places to enjoy really great Indian food in London. The Kensington branch always has a table (especially at lunch) and the staff are lovely. Highlights include the Chilli Chicken, House Chaat and Chicken Ruby, but honestly, there's not a single bad thing on the menu. Go with a full wallet and rumbling belly!
