Ancient gate built by the Order of Hospitaliers from Jerusalem. Was destroyed during Wat Tylers rebellion in 1300s and rebuilt in the 15th century as it is today. Really ancient, historical place with great medieval character and atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

St John's Gate is a fascinating place in the heart of London. The Museum is small, but it is interesting and well-kept. The admission is free.

An old gate that used to be the main entrance way to the Order of St John. I saw this gate as part of the guided tour of Museum of St John and we were told that very little of the stone facing is original. Much of the gate house was heavily restored in the 19th century by the Victorians and they restored the building in a very sympathetic manner. A very impressive looking gate with all sorts of symbols related to the order. A most impressive looking gate. You'll likely see this if visiting the museum, but otherwise don't go out of the way.

St John Gate is well worth a visit the museum is excellent tracing the history of the Order of St. John over the 900+ years of its existence. The only downside is disabled access. The museum is all on the level, but other parts of the building can only be accessed by stairs.

This gorgeous historical venue is available for hire for parties and events. The church is rarely open to the public whichnis a great shame but the medicinal garden is open to the public and it's a wonderful quiet place.

It isn't part of the original city wall. It is kind of cool, but I wouldn't walk out of your way to see it.
